Overall a good location and convenient area to shops, restaurants, the harbor.

High altitude suite

First off, we absolutely loved Sydney. It was a fantastic destination for us, and I believe one of the most amazing cities on Earth. There are 5 Meritons in the central business district; at least two others are very close to this Kent Street property. I suspect that they must be pretty similar properties. We booked an “altitude” suite and were not disappointed. Our level 50 room offered fabulous views. It was a spacious, modern, and tastefully furnished one bedroom apartment. Also, the hotel service was excellent. Two things to watch out for: one is the card key/elevator system. It seemed to either amaze, or freak out, hotel guests. Your card key activates the system, which will tell you which elevator to use, whereupon you will be whisked rapidly to your level. There are no buttons to operate in the elevator itself, which is a little unsettling. Finally, one minor caveat is that the gym wasn’t appealing to me. It is next to the pool and hot tub, wasn’t well ventilated, and you have to walk through the steamy area where the floor is wet and there may be screaming kids. Overall though, a great place to stay, not far from Darling Harbor and maybe a 20 min walk to the Circular Quay and a few more minutes to get to the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The hotel employees are super friendly and helpful. The suite is spacious. It is well located with access to almost everything.

Really enjoyed my stay in the Single Bedroom Suite. Priced very fair, only downside was i booked for the “Harbour View” instead i got a city view on Floor 18 which wasn’t the best, but I still enjoyed myself. The bed was very comfortable, shower was very clean and nice. Kitchen was okay, the pan provided wasn’t good enough for me to be able to cook on, so I instead went out for dinner. Which was a good experience either way. Overall, still very happy with my stay, most definitely will consider returning if I am able to get a room on a higher floor and got a better night view.

Excellent facility in an excellent location

Visited Sydney with a group of university students. The units are well appointed, equipped well for longer stays, and the hotel is very conveniently located.

The wait for the elevator at peak times was a little frustrating

A spacious place to stay. Room and bed are clean and comfortable.We had an issue with bathroom drain and they fixed it next day. Only one towel per person so we asked for more. Prompt response. Finding any usb and outlets to charge our phones was inconvenient. I’d recommend they change the lights by the bed to charging with USB. Subway and tram stops are a 5-7 minute walk. Good restaurants everywhere,

Not clean

We were very disappointed at the cleanliness of the place. The windows to the balcony were very dirty . The balcony was black with dirt and there were cigarette ends. We informed reception as we were going out but were disappointed when we returned about 4 hours later that nothing had been done. We chased it up and the cleaners came and cleaned it all while we had to be in the bedroom. Later on in the day we moved the dining table and there was a yellow gooey liquid underneath the table. Obviously the table never gets moved when the cleaning happens. We have stayed in different Meriton suites and this was not the standard we expected.

Had an older suite that had mould along shower stall caulking, very dusty along cabinets and doors. Shower fan didn't appear to be connected. Housekeeping only comes every third day.

Loved apartment but I will book more in central parts of sydney

Location was excellent, apartments are spacious and well appointed. The pool and spa facilities were very good. Unfortunately there was a funny smell in many parts of the building including the lifts, hallways and the living area of our apartment. There were some maintenance issues in the bathroom as well.

Excellent hotel

This hotel one of many Meriton Suite hotels in Australia -- there were three within a space of about 100 metres. Excellent accommodaytion with kirchen and separate bedroom. You make your own meals or eat out.

Upon check was offered an upgrade but was then told I would have to wait an hour if I wanted the upgrade. I thought that was very unprofessional of the young lady who checked me in.

The stay was perfect except for the elevators breaking down leaving me stranded on the 53rd floor. The staff worked hard to get it sorted.

had a good accomadation

Welcoming and very attentive staff. Given the room rate, it is very easy money with no housekeeping. I appreciated access to the arrivals lounge to use after lcheck out. Quiet and clean and comfortable with coffee and tea and even a shower. Great bed. Good range of food within short walk.

Great location and the parking downstairs was convenient. We were disappointed with the condition of the room though, the shower head was broken, tv didn't work well and bed felt quite old.

Terrible check-in — long lines and room not ready until 3:30. Said they’d compensate and no response. Room was great and great location.

Great location for dining options

The check in was efficient, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel facilities were great. Just a couple of minor things, there was no dish cloth or tea towel to clean up after myself, there was no facecloths in the bathroom which I would expect to find in all hotels, and there were no usb outlets in the suite or any available to use from reception when I called. Otherwise it was a fantastic location and lovely views from the balcony!

We waited 40 mins to check in as many rooms were not ready upon arrival at 3:45pm leaving a back log of people. Although our room was ready the wait to be served was so long we missed the start of our event which began at 5

Was a very easy check in, reception was friendly. Room was average, did not love that they “upgraded” us but had three random doors locked which was kind of creepy not knowing what was behind it especially for someone with ptsd. I called up and they informed me it should be one bedroom and a bathroom locked and was not aware of the third door. Just made me very uneasy the whole stay and did not want to come across as over reacting.

Best location, kindly staff. Very satisfied.

The property is at perfect location, walkable to everything. The room is clean. We booked a BR suite on level 43 and it has nice view of the Darling harbour even in the raining time. I wish slippers and shower cap is provided but well the room is clean so we walked bare feet. Coffee machine is provided so it was good to have a night cup (decaff is also provided) It was Friday so the check in was fast & as we were early we were allowed to go to L15 (arrival room) for coffee & relax. That's nice. Waiting for the lift is long so make sure you leave enough time or you may be late. Overall we like the property and will book again if needed.

The room is perfect, everything is perfect except the check in process. The queue to check in was very very long and we could only check in at 4:30pm instead of 3pm due to the queue and room wasn't available yet. BUT the hotel has the arrival room so you can wait while having free coffee. Service need to be improve on the check in. I travelled a lot but never seen that bad.

Highly recommend this hotel, staff friendly and helpful.

Overall the hotel is pretty good. We had a Good size one bedroom apartment. We were given two towels for three people and no floor mats in the bathroom. We arrived in the middle of the night so unfortunately couldn’t request the towels so was a little disappointing. No face cloths either. Had a concierge station but no concierge in case you have lots of luggage like us.

Unique: the balcony view. Poor: the administration / the old building conditions.

This property had it all. It was the perfect location to serve as our vacation base and allow us to visit anything in the city. Would definitely recommend!

Agreat location for exploring Sydney. Our Altitude suite was spacious and very comfortable with great views.

Xmas stay

Chose an apartment so we could cook for ourselves. Altitude apartment had great view and was worth the price. Central location allowed us to walk everywhere.

5 Star prices but let down by the basics. Room cleaned twice in 9 days. Had to phone down 3 times on one day for clean towels. First visit forgot the towels, second dropped off 1 each only - had asked for shower floor towel also etc, On third visit staff member said there was a shortage of towels. Found it easier taking towels from gym area after that. It was only on last night that any hand towels were placed in bathrooms …none first 7 nights! Kitchen had no small pans & no frying pan/wok. Just 2 huge family pans. Would also suggest placing water in rooms at the very least!!

A strangers dirty underware were left behind, the refrigerator repeatedly leaked creating a slip hazard, the Bathroom outlet could not keep hold of any plugs so could not be used, the shower did not have sufficient covered to prevent the bathroom floor from getting wet, the step down out of the shower was several feet onto a wet floor which caused floor mat slippage. The biggest property plus was it’s location, but for the price I expected better.

Meriton Kent st

Meriton on Kent st has clean rooms , great staff who go out of there was to help with anything. I would like. Indoor pool to be a few degrees warmer .

Did not get my room serviced my entire stay. I called reception and asked them to service my room on day 4 while I was out and advised them to clean in my absence. Was promised and yet nothing happened

Perfect location

The location is perfect for exploration of the city and on foot. Cleanliness is excellent.

Location was close to transportation. Despite doing their best to provide rooms by 3pm, be prepared to wait a bit longer. On that note, they have a common lounge area on the 15th floor. Checking staff was friendly, but not accommodative.

Location & Ticked all the boxes

As in life it’s all about the people not just the product. Anna at the front desk went out of her way with great communication ahead of our arrival to assist us with some special requests. Great location. Most main attractions & tramway is within nearby walking distances. So many great dining options to choose from are right near the entrance to the hotel. Excellent indoor pool, Spa pool & Gym. Very pleased with the quality of service provided by the room servicing / cleaning schedule system. Safe & secure room access key card lift system. Crowded at check in & checkout which is to be expected, otherwise faultless.

This was a great place to stay in Sydney. It was away from the very touristy areas down near the Circular Quay, but right off the streetcar line that could take you there. Close to shopping of all kinds, restaurants and interesting neighborhoods. Very safe area, especially for a woman traveling solo. Great room, lots of space, and ability to prepare my own meals.

We love the Meriton apartments, they are what a traveler needs and for me having a full equipped kitchen a in house laundry is great!

Early check-in was really appreciated. Our room was upgraded and we were able to check in at 9:30 AM.

Needs to do better

Having stayed at many Meritons over the years, was disappointed this time. Specifically paid for a Sky Suite and requested a west facing apartment which the reception said I had. This was not the case and when asked why they had no answer.

Sydney Stay

This is my "go to" hotel. Great facilities and location. Close to everything.

Great central location and close to transit links - metro, light rail and buses. Rooms could do with updating, especially with respect to powerpoints for device charging and connection to streaming services.

Excellent location with lots of shopping areas and restaurants within walking distance. However, this is not the type of hotel where you will find a bunch of tourist pamphlets in the lobby. It seems to fancy itself as more of a business traveler's hotel. I found the hotel staff to be quite aloof. Also, the counter in the lobby is too high! I am 5'8" and had to stand on my tip toes to be able to sign the bill. Again "aloof".

3 nights

Staff was very good. Concierge at checkin was very efficient and desk staff very helpful. Unfortunately no room available when I arrived and they couldn’t give me an estimate of availability Windows are not sound proofed. All I could hear was jackhammers for an hour so they moved me to a new room. It had an enclosed patio which I initially thought was good but it made the room very dark. It unfortunately smelled of smoke. On the positive it had a great view. Mould on the tile in shower at bottom and a few surfaces needed cleaning in kitchen and balcony. Staff offered another room but I was done moving. Kitchen services were great. Pool was very nice. Area was accessible to restaurants, transport, shopping. Very convenient. Felt very safe and they worked hard to make my stay a good one.

Ive stayed here a few times now and its been awesome every time.. the staff are very helpful, friendly and pleasant. The hotel itself is great and ideally situated in close proximity to everything in the city.. i look forward to my next visit.

My family always stay at Meriton on Kent when we visit Sydney. It is at a great location with town hall station near by. There are so many restaurants and eateries around. The property is clean and child friendly. This is my number one choice every time.

Went there after a cruise so got there at 930 am to drop bags check in was at 3. They ended up calling me at 1230 to informing us that our room was ready early. Friendly staff and very helpful

Great location

Our room was located next to a garbage chute entry, this was often left open by staff, slammed and hard whenever opened or closed. Also people had left rubbish around it constantly. Dishwasher leaked, and couldn't wash basic dishes. Dryer was faulty as someone had broken the dial so you couldn't tell how long your washing had left to dry. The spa was consistently dirty with grey foam, also grey/ green goop would be spotted floating by in the spa. Pool and sauna were clean. Room itself had a busted curtain hook on the wall, glass screens that surrounded the balcony were filthy, but the view was decent.

Fantastic Stay

We had a wonderful stay and the every staff member couldn’t have been more helpful. One of our party had limited mobility and we had assistance with our luggage without having to ask. Skye at reception was exceptional, meeting all our extra requests graciously and quickly. The apartment was spacious and well set out with plenty of kitchenware for three of us. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms had plenty of storage. Good location for the Light Rail and Town Hall station.
