Hotel Meritel is well located in the heart of the old quarter. It is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of busy Hanoi just outside. While the rooms are clean and tidy and the facilities are great, the stand-out was the amazing service. In particular, Anh was so warm and helpful, providing great dining and tourist attraction recommendations.
We loved this hotel. We made an non refundable incorrect booking for April 2025 and came into the hotel in Jan. Mike at the front desk took care of everything and moved our reservation to the correct dates without us having to pay for another reservation. Katy took care of all of our tours for us and arranged a great and convenient hotel for us in Sapa and Ninh Bình. The entire staff was accommodating and had great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. We highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Hanoi.
The Meritel was an oasis in Hanoi. We loved our stay and will remember the friendly staff, comfortable room and great breakfasts for a long time.
Another Great Stay in Hanoi
Another great stay in Hanoi. The rooms are a little small, but I think that is typical in the old quarter of Hanoi. What matters most is beds are comfortable, rooms are nice and clean and service is great. A special thanks to Alex for his wonderful service throughout our stay.
What a lovely place, a very nice escape from Hanoi madness. Immaculate cleanliness and top-notch service.
We very much loved our stay at Mai House Saigon. The hotel is amazing from the room, restaurant, bar and spa. They had the best breakfast buffets we’ve seen during all our travels. The team at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was stylish with comfortable beds and a great location. Staff were amazing (particularly Mr Mike) helping with dinner recommendations and onward travel arrangements. We had rooftop cocktails, breakfast and a Set Christmas Menu at the hotel and all were amazing.
Everything is perfect! I would highly recommend to friends and family.
Excellent hotel. Staff were perfect and the food. Service and drinks were outstanding.
Amazing staff, rooms and food
One of the best hotels we have stayed in. We were welcomed by all the team and especially Mike who looked after us from checkin till the end of our stay, and went beyond customer service satisfaction. We would definitely recommend anyone visiting Hanoi to stay at the Meritel.
Staff were ao warm & friendly… so helpful
Great boutique hotel
The staff went out of their way to make sure my stay was exceptional. Jelly and Judy were very kind, informative and friendly throughout my stay! Very convenient location in the Old Quarter as well. The room was comfortable and kept very clean. I would stay there again.
Fantastic find in the heart of the Old Quarter. Great value and very clean. Highly recommend this hotel.
The room and hotel were stunning. The bed was so comfortable especially after a long travel day. The stand out for us was the hotel staff. They helped us arrange travel plans and tours and their food recommendations were knock out.
Close to ild quarter and very convenient.
Nice
Very good location, great staff
Staff fantastic and friendly.
This is a wonderful hotel located in a central area. The staff are amazing and will help you with any tour questions. You will be treated wonderfully.
Great! Friendly staff, they held my hand to cross the busy streets.
We loved the Meritel Hanoi! The staff, especially Anh were so lovely and helpful. The location was really great and we really enjoyed our time there. Exceptional service all around!
This is a very nice hotel in the heart of old town. The staff are amazing and check on you often. Great advice and very helpful service.
Great hotel
We stayed one night and it was so nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very clean and the breakfast was superb. I highly recommend it.
It was great
Great service from everyone.
The service from all staff was excellent. Helped with getting sim card for phone. Assisted with where best to change money, tours etc. Front desk, dining room staff, room service, bar staff and pool attendant all helpful. Would definitely stay here again. The staff set the property apart from other places we stayed in Vietnam.
Excellent option. New.
Fantastic boutique hotel.
Amazing service. They thought of every little detail. They walked across the road to get us safely to the other side. Could not fault the service. Location is fantastic. 5 minute walk to train street. Food market at the end of the street turning left out of the hotel.
Nice, clean, good location and friendly staff
the staff was great! They were very helpful and kind. The spa excellent we had an excellent time in Hanoi. Thanks to all the staff!
Hotel has great restaurant .. very good service and staff… but at a noisy location…
Great place stay, very close to train st. We had a suite room which was very comfortable for two people. Bed and shower was great and the staff exceptional.
Incredible hospitality. Upon arrival we received fruits and tea to enjoy while waiting for check-in. Anh our receptionist was lovely and helped us during our entire stay. She offered great suggestions and advice that made the stay more enjoyable.
We were initially enamored with the lobby and waiting area, only to be disappointed by the rest of the hotel. Bath towels were frayed, no one came to clean the rooms despite our request the second day, and worse of all, there was a gross puddle of yellow liquid (urine?) in the elevator for a few hours another night. We also tried booking a tour through the hotel and was initially encouraged to pay cash and “go under the table” with one of the employees. We ended up booking at the front desk only to be shaken down for more money after we had already gone on the tour bc “they had quoted the wrong price.” Extremely unprofessional, and left a terrible taste in our mouth. We were trying to avoid booking scams by going through the hotel only to find out that apparently that’s not safe either. Do better, Meritel.
Fantastic staff, lovely hotel
Amazing hotel. Super clean, breakfast is delicious.
Wonderful staff. Great team. Goes above and beyond the level of customer service expected. Excellent hospitality. I will always stay at this hotel.
Lovely Property, the staff were amazing!! The only feedback I would have is that they need to have some shade for the pool
All the staffs were amazing. Very nice and helpful!
Amazingly helpful staff and top class facility
Excellent service throughout.
Beautiful hotel, extremely clean and well located! Breakfast is so delicious.
A very nice hotel on the edge of the Old Quarter and close to the modern centre. Extremely nice and helpful staff that make all the difference. Excellent breakfast and very nice rooms. They also offer a range of very nice tours.
Wonderful respite from the busy streets.
The minute I stepped into the lobby, the hustle and bustle of the streets disappeared. The hotel is tastefully designed with art deco pieces. Lovely mosaic on the floor, fantastic breakfast layout. Totally enjoyed my stay. A pity about being able to hear the traffic from my room late at night (we stayed on the 5th floor). Balcony is standing-room only.
The room was clean and comfortable and the facilities and food were great.
Want to feel like a VIP? Stay at the Meritel Hanoi! This has been one of my favourite hotel stays, even compared to first class hotels I’ve stayed at around the world. From the moment I arrived, Mike made us feel like VIPs. He was extremely kind and helpful with many good suggestions for the city. The location is perfect, right in Old Town, walkable to everything. The other staff including Anh, Judy, Mai, Hanh, and everyone else made this a 5 star stay. The breakfast was very impressive. The rooftop pool was lovely on a hot day. I will stay here every time I come to Hanoi!
Lovely, welcoming staff.

The best customer service by far! Staff was friendly and were always looking to help. Amazing recommendations on there parts as well! Would highly recommend to anyone going.
Love the swimming pool. I had the best massage ever!
Absolutely amazing. Very classy!
Solid location, boutique feel, check in was a bottle painful and rooms/pool/dining room pretty modest.
Very comfortable hotel located centrally in the old quarter of Hanoi. The staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Very welcoming staffs and they understands English correctly
Great place to Stay and would go back
Great location in the Old City!
My stay at Meritel was fantastic and the experience and service i felt and received was warm and caring. Thank you for making my stay the best it could be. All the staff were friendly and amazing too. When I visit Hanoi in the future I will be sure to stay here again! Will also recommend to my family and friends. The hotel is grand and ornate. Welcome drink and fresh fruit when you check in. The staff ask about your day and do the very most to accommodate your needs. Hanoi is always awake but the hustle and bustle does not seep into the hotel which remains quiet and classy, ensuring a peaceful and relaxed stay.
I had good time
Wonderful stay. Staff very attentive. Close to everything. Comfortable beds. Nice pool.
Clean hotel & friendly staff. Hotel is close to tourist attractions.
Our stay at Meritel Hotel was perfect. The rooms were clean eith excellent air conditioning, restaurant was delicious with a variety of food, and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Lukas took the time to book two exciting tours showing us Vietnam's best attractions. Mike shared all the top dining spots, made sure we were able to visit Train Street, and made our check out easy. Overall an incredible hotel.
Outstanding service
Outstanding customer service and attention to detail
Staff are very attentive and caring. Location also very nice
The staff at this property is wonderful! Harry at the rooftop bar was a standout. Unfortunately the room we had was tight for 3 people, and I also found it curious that you didn’t need a key card to go up to your floor, so really anyone could go to your floor.
Great location, great rooms, great staff
Large connecting family room with comfortable beds and super friendly staff.
This was my second time returning to this hotel during my trip. It did not disappoint the second time and was again excellent. The staff go above and beyond. Special thanks to Mike on the front desk for helping me to make sure I was on my onward transfer!
Lovely hotel right in the middle of the old quarter. Staff are super helpful. Would recommend room at the back of the hotel as it was quiet and there was an outside window. Overall a great hotel to stay in to explore the old quarter.
Good hotel in good location.
This is a good hotel in a good location. I wouldn't say it was regular 5 star standard but still a lovely hotel. The room we had was spacious and clean, very quiet no outside sounds coming in. The rooftop bar was lovely and a good spot to have an early drink before going out. The pool and gym are also good facilities, you get a towel in the pool area/ The reception staff were great, as was our welcome they all spoke good English and make the check in easy. Only thing I would say is we paid for hotel transfers which was around $15 USD which I think was actually quite expensive and we would have been better getting a Grab taxi. Location wise you are right in the centre and about 10 mins from Train Street so its really easy to step out of the hotel and right into the bustle of Hanoi.
Gorgeous property in a great location. Minutes from Train street and approx 10 minutes to beer corner. The staff were fantastic and attentive. Breakfast was great, the pool was beautiful and the spa was lovely! Would absolutely stay again!
Staff was amazing and always willing to help
Excellent breakfast, nice staff and comfortable rooms. Gym and pool are nice too.
Beautiful hotel in an ideal location
This was our first trip to Hanoi and Meritel Hanoi exceeded our expectations. From constant communications by the reservation desk to any request during our stay. The location is ideal in Old Quarter walking distance to all attractions. The breakfast buffet is amazing with traditional dishes such as pho, spring rolls and bah mi. I choose this hotel because it was new and had Indochina decor, which was beautiful. The room we had was on the 7th floor, so high enough from the traffic noice, and had a balcony (Meritel Suite). Note - not all rooms have a window. They even spoilt us on our wedding anniversary. Worth the stay!
I stayed in the suite on the 8th floor. Beautiful room and patio.
Nice hotel and all around friendly staff. Just take note that the outdoor pool is not heated in the winter and the water is cold.
Great location - very comfortable, very friendly
Great location - so much within short walking distance. In the Old Town so space at a premium meaning room without a window which was a bit claustrophobic. Very comfortable bed and bed linen. Great shower. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.
Nice place, got looked after.
Meritel Hanoi
This hotel is amazing! The staff, especially Mike went out of their way to make sure we had the best stay. The elegant hotel is new and the rooms were beautiful, quiet and yet in the heart of old town. Restaurant (and the staff) was also amazing. We definitely give this hotel 100%, all the way around, one of our best stays in Vietnam.
Beautiful hotel with great staff
Meritel Hanoi is a beautiful hotel, with top notch service. However, the air conditioning kept going out in our room though the staff was quick to get it up and running again every time it went out. We also experienced ants in our sink, but again the staff was very prompt in getting it fixed. The Meritel advertises that it has soundproofed rooms, but this is not the case. You will be able to hear the room next to you as well as the city outside (thought it is very quiet at night so as long as you are not sleeping in the day you will be able to sleep peacefully). The hotel is in a great location, and the spa facilities are top notch. Because of this I would stay again despite the setbacks we encountered during our stay.
I definitely will come back to the Meritel Hanoi
This is probably one of the best hotels in Hanoi. Amazing facilities, well located, walking distance from important and iconic sites. The service is outstanding.
The room and staff are great. The location is very walkable to tons of restaurants and attractions. The hotel helped us book tours, airport pickup, and spa treatments. Would stay here again if visiting Hanoi.
No regrets choosing this place
Great stay and no regrets in choosing this place over so many others in the Old Quarter. Interior is a classy colonial, clean and the rooftop bar is definitely worth visiting. Staff from the front desk to housekeeping were all professional and polite. Great accessibility around the Old Quarter.
The staff in this hotel are a credit to the hospitality business. They are simply excellent and nothing is too much trouble - service is always with a smile.
Excellent hotel if you want to treat yourself for a few nights in Hanoi.
Great hotel. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay. Would come back.
Favorite Hotel in Hanoi!!
Great Hotel! The staff went above and beyond. Hats off to Lukas, Kenny, Lujan for the exceptional service. We'll be back!
Amazing staff, great location
Amazing hotel in a great location to explore Hanoi. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience while exploring Hanoi
Not one thing wasn’t top rate. Amazing hotel , amazing price. The best stay.
The service was excellent from the moment we stepped in (welcome drinks, fruits & snacks were provided). Staff were attentive to our every need. First time at breakfast, staff explained where everything was and even helped to order a hot chocolate that I wanted. They also gave me a birthday surprise with a chocolate cake and bday song! 💕 When we went out, they offered umbrella as it was raining. Upon returning, the doorman quickly came to carry our bags of shopping for us to the room! Only on our last day, there was a black out.
Wonderful stay. Many thanks!
The staff were incredibly conscientious, helpful and courteous. We have been so pleased with our stay there. Location was great for walking everywhere we wanted to go. Restaurant was new and was underutilized but food was good. Breakfast was really good with so many options
Good
Best hotel in Vietnam
This is my third time in Hanoi and I've travelled SE Asia a few times. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way and is now my go to whenever I stay in Hanoi. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The facilities spotless clean and well kept. Location is very nice, close to everything. And best of all the service, one of the best guest experiences my wife and I have ever had, so good infact we booked two more nights. Uyen, was superb! she helped us arrange our rides to SaPa and Ninh Binh and made our trip so much easier. In the past I went to a tour agent within Hanoi but found this much easier and the prices were very competitive. As someone that frequents hotels all over the world, I highly recommend this one. Just amazing. Thank you for making our time in Vietnam so much more comfortable and memorable.
The property was good value for money, and the staff were incredible and extremely accommodating! Would recommend and stay again!!
Excellent staff, extremely helpful and pleasant.
Staff are all very helpful and polite. Special mentioned to Uyen for her friendliness and assistance.
Quality stay
Great hotel, with a pool and a roof bar, located ina great location and has a great breakfast service, highly recommended
Excellent. I will come back again

Lovely time in old town Hanoi
After a smooth airport pick up arranged by Meritel, we were greeted with tea and cold towels in the beautiful French Colonial boutique hotel in the heart of old town Hanoi. Judy and Katy at the front desk were always helpful, arranging tours, making excellent dining and shopping suggestions and basically seeing to all our needs. William at the rooftop bar and Emma in the restaurant were also attentive and informative. The room faced the busy street but was very quiet. Bit cold for a rooftop swim but we tried anyway, Canadians, eh.😉
