Great property! The room was very spacious and comfortable, fantastic bathroom, lovely terrace. The breakfast was a little sub-par in terms of things not being well stocked but otherwise everything was perfect.
Great location!
Nice facilities. Only problem is the Wi-Fi did not work on the 5th floor
I did not get my room. I was moved to another hotel, and I paid the taxi.
Another great location
A great location in Madrid! We were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of Madrid!! Such lovely buildings and plenty of luscious green gardens…also many great bars and restaurants nearby!
Nice small hotel close to the Prado museum. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was fine, just a little small. Walls are thin and there was a bit of a noise until late at night likely from outside the room since I was close to the elevator. Breakfast was decent. All in all nice place to stay if you are going to spend a lot of time at attractions like Prado and around.
Great hotel in fantastic location
The check in process on the morning of 7 June was very smooth and the hotel attendants were helpful in storing our bags until our room was ready. We visited the Prada Museum across the street at 1000 and we were notified that the room was ready about 1200 which was much appreciated since we quite tired from our trip. The Junior Suite with 1 king bed was very nice with a good shower, tub and double sink with good lighting. The bed was very comfortable with excellent linens. The suite had a nice sitting room and a large balcony available through a sliding door. The room temperature was easy to adjust. The breakfast was very nice with lots of fresh fruit and a variety of other choices which we enjoyed. The coffee from the machine was fine but the portions were small requiring several trips to the machine. The hotel location was perfect for all the local museums and you are only one block of the Calle Jesus tapas area. We would definitely stay here again.
Only drive in a very small car!!
Two things stood out at this hotel. We were advised in advance that there was limited parking. I assumed this meant few spaces, but it actually meant only small cars. We had to park a 10 minute walk away in a place that was really tight so I assume the Mercure would only accept dinky cars. If you are travelling in anything the same size or larger than an Audi Q3, your car won't be accepted into the car park. The second thing was the noise. We seemed to be assaulted by noise from all six sides. Every word from the adjoining rooms was clearly audible and noise from the corridors and outside was also loud. It's not an easy place to sleep in.
Great Location!
Hotel location is good. Reception staff were helpful. The only discomfort is the soundproof of the room. The opening and closing of the guest door next to your room can be heard clearly, including drawing of the curtain, etc. These sounds were so clear and close that could give you a fright even when you were already asleep. However, after one or twice experiencing such sound, you should be able to overcome it and able to sleep well for the rest of the nights. This soundproof problem is quite norm for many hotels. Anyway, overall, I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Madrid Centro.
Not for light sleepers !
The Hotel was well located and many attractions are within walking distance. The only downside for the hotel is very poor sound insulation. There is virtually no sound proofing. you can hear room doors closing at all hours and the door mechanism is very stiff that ensures everyone will need to slam their doors to shut it. You can hear the taps and WC from your neighbours and voices of people in the next room very clearly. if you have inconsiderate and noisy neighbours you will not get any sleep. So fellow travellers be warned. Otherwise, rooms are clean, staff very friendly and polite. Good breakfast for European standards.
The location is ideal, across from Prado Museum and easy walk to Thyssen-Bornemisza. Sound insulation in rooms is zero from hall conversations and adjacent rooms. Facility appears worn and in need of renovation.
Not bad but noisy in room due to thin ceilings
It’s an ok hotel. Clean enough but expensive considering there is no bar and you can hear people walking about above you.
Beautiful hotel, modern and clean. Great location, easy walk to train station. Bed was comfortable, shower water pressure was great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent location for going to the Prado. We travelled with older relatives and this let us spend the whole day in the museum. Awesome kind staff, too, thanks Mercure Centro team!
Amazing location, clean and the staff es friendly and helpful in helping us choose restaurants and local activities. We’ll stay here again!
Great location near Prado and comfortable.
Everything was great
When I arrived I was told, through the fog of my jetlag that several of their rooms had some type of water problem. They very nicely booked me in hotel Ibis Prado that turned out to be a very nice hotel...Im just curious if the knew of the problem before I arrived & could have warned me. But I gave them a 3 star because the front desk was helpful & hailed a cab for me.
Very well situated. Good services. Absolutely clean
Personal muy amable y localizacion estupenda. Para el precio que cuesta, deberia haber gym y servicio de habitaciones.
Excelent
Nice location for moderate price
Great location, Prado gallery 5 min walk, a lot of restaurants around. Uncomfortable bed but room itself in a good condition. We asked for a silent room and it was provided.
It's well located, within walking distance to main sites like Alcala, Serrano streets, gran via etc. The only thing I didn't like was the noise from the other floors it was very loud and every day. Other than that it's great.
Great, clean hotel. Attentive and friendly staff. Location - just perfect.
Very neat and clean. The location is iideal, 600 feet to the Prado Museum and walking distance to many more.
Excellent location
Great location and super friendly/ helpful people
Quiet room, comfortable bed, outstanding customer service, generous buffet, and great location. Extra shout out to the front desk staff, but everyone I encountered was incredibly kind and helpful.
Great location
Amazing
Great place near the Prado
Very clean room. The front desk staff was very helpful. We were able to store our bags after checkout to head to the museum.
Very nice small hotel reasonably priced. Very helpful staff, super convenient to Prada, Reina Sofia and Atocha station. Wonderful non touristy restaurants within walking distance in a very nice neighborhood.
Spain 2022
Great hotel at great location in Madrid.
This is a no-nonsense small hotel, with basic amenities. It is very clean and convenient, and has an excellent staff that responds within minutes to every request. The breakfast is very nice as well.
Well-located comfortable hotel.
Great hotel near all the main touristic sites. Our room was large, had a great deck and was very comfortable. Lots of great dining options nearby.
Very convenient
The hotel is central to many attractions, which made it easy for us to venture around without the need for transportation. Service was good. We arrived early and we were granted access to our room before the required check in time. There was not much interaction with the staff as we were out most of the time. The facility is clean and neat, but it definitely needs a face lift. Although the rooms are cute and neat with wooden floors, the closets look outdated. The staff was helpful.
The front desk staff were so wonderful and welcoming! The room was clean and well equipped.
Great value for the money, I paid 68 euros per night. Room had a balcony. Great location. Parking is off site a few blocks away for 29 euros per day, but that's probably going to be the case at any hotel in the city center. I would stay here again.
Staff was very helpful
Very clean, friendly staff and decent breakfast. Very convenient location. I would choose this hotel again.
Nicely located hotel. Pretty clean and convenient. We really liked the nearby "tabernas" and tapa bars.
The staff is amazing , last minute find and don’t regret, they been so helpful
Great location close to museums and train station. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Comfortable rooms. Would stay here again.
Great hotel
Location was excellent within ealking dustsnce of the art galleries, parks Atocha Station and the old Madrid babk streets. Mercure zhotel was boutique with modern design.
Location is great as well
What a great place
I would stay here again. The location was great! Very close to parks and city. The bed was very comfortable! Beakfast was amazing. Also very covid safe!
Great, helpful staff. Fantastic room. Opted for hotel breakfast which was very good. Perfect location for Prado and Sofia museums.
Nice facility and very friendly staff
I had to make check out two nights early from my original date of check out and I did not get any refund or a two nights to use in the near future
Good location close to Museo del Prado, very helpful staff
Rooms are small, not centric, it was construction going on all day every day above us from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. cafe doesn't serve dinner and whe ordering room service it had to be ordered from other restaurants and took forever. Friendly people though.
Location, Friendly staff, on-site parking.
very basic amenity provided, small bar of soap and shower gel set in the shower room. No toothbrush, no shower cap etc which should be provided 4stars hotel. Very poor sound proof, can hear next room's TV sound, walking noise. Last but not least, massive internal building work is on till 7pm and very loud banging, drilling noise throughout the day. Requested to change the quieter room but they did not accept ,my request. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed which was not even cheap. I would recommend anyone to avoid this hotel. Very unpleasant stay.
Unfortunately I listened noisy from other rooms. Chairs moving and doors closing...
Consyruction on floor so very noisy Walls so thin I could hear person next to me snoring all night. No sleep.
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at
Paper thin walls. Can here everything. Good luck trying to sleep. Kids screaming all morning. Asked to move rooms and they obliged by putting us next to another family of screaming kids. Can hear every door close.
Excellent stay. Nice breakfast. All employees pleasant. Breakfast extensive and employees constantly cleaning up and replenishing.
Fantastic location Great staff Very nice breakfast
The breakfast is so goooooood. I love the interior of the dining area. It just took for 5 min. to my tour meeting place at prado museum from this hotel and was walkable to puerta del sol. For reference, actual streets in Madrid were narrower than Google Street View.
Loved just about everything, except for the excessive perfume in the lobby and room. It was hard on my husband's allergies!
Good location. Nice room
Too expensive for not enough amenities but in a good location
A convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great location you can walk to all the sites..Breakfast is Lacking...
Good stay.
The hotel was okay , room very small Difficult to open our suitcases. Bed was good But too small. Front desk people were excellent Especially Aitana, she was exceptional .breakfast was okay
Rooms small but clean and modern and location can’t be beat
Excellent location, in the center of Paseo Los Prados, main museums and nice places to eat. Very close by of Atocha train station.
Very friendly and accommodating staff, Central location
Very expensive for what it was but it served the purpose
Ask for room without a view.
Hotel has a lot of positive points so I’ll start there. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was ok, it’s a cultural thing, don’t expect American coffee or bacon. Wonderful on sweets, and fresh fruits. Also there room service is awesome because you can order from local restaurants, have it delivered to room and they put it on your account. The only two negative points, one, location was ok but far away from lots of must see things (I didn’t realize we would have to taxi to many things), and two, they have wonderful balconies that you can open and enjoy the outside, the bad part is, door was not secure and therefore extremely noisy. It felt like we had the windows open so we heard sirens, ambulances and chatter ALL night/morning long.
Would stay again
1 block from Prado 1 block from strip of tapas places Staff gave excellent recommendations for dining Tickets available for purchase at hotel to “skip the line” at major museums Great breakfast buffet Would stay again
Too noisy
The hotel seemed a bit noisy. You could hear suitcases rolling above you and could hear others talking. Location near the Prado was excellent.
Comfortable and good location.
There for a race event. Great location. Very comfortable. Accommodating staff.
perfect
Madrid in 2 days
excelent Hotel, very central, walking distance from all main attractions. We stayed for 2 days. Fantastic breakfast.
Culture but no comfort
Very basic, tired, noisy hotel. Location is great for museums, just don't expect luxury. No tea/coffee making available in room. Staff helpful and friendly.
The lobby smells too strong of air freshener, gives you a headache as soon as you step into the hotel. Everything else is great.
Perfect location. Great breakfast. Friendly, highly competent staff. Nice room with excellent bed, and pretty much everything you need except for a comfortable chair for reading.
Overall we were very happy with the hotel. The only problem was there was no hot water for 1 full day. The water was ice cold so we couldn’t take showers. We were given a note of apology and a tiny bag of hard candy. Would have been nice to get something more for the inconvenience. That being said I would still stay there again.
The reception staff were incredibly helpful The location of the hotel was excellent, being within a few minutes walk of the three major Art museums in Madrid
the staff were friendly & very helpful. They accommodated our needs appropriately from take out breakfast, to printing our boarding passes & tour tickets & recommending good places to visit. the room was clean & comfortable. the location is close to metra & tours. we recommend this hotel & will definitely stay here again.
Great location
The staff were extremely helpful and generous. I wish there was a gym and that the wifi did not drop. You had to login to the wifi often. I wish I knew about the laundry service! Great stay for the location.
Good brand hotel that lacks any extras
This is a nice property in a good location for art lovers and foodies. Rooms are somewhat bare whilst very clean with a good bed. Could use carpeting to stop other room noises and an extra blanket. As well a kettle and tea, coffee would improve comfort. A good spot that needs enhancing.
Nice, clean hotel, with a friendly efficient staff in a convenient location.
Good location for art lovers
This is a well situated hotel, near the major galleries, has welcoming staff who are real assets. The small adequate rooms need a little more comfort eg a kettle to make tea & an extra blanket.
They told me first that there is problem with system and they booked me in differ3nt hotel. Finally they àgree to stay in sam3 hotel.
Mercure Madrid Centro
We were in room 107 after getting there very late. It was very noisy as it is above the reception but the guy at the reception was excellent and moved us to the back of the hotel on a higher floor. The service people at reception were really good. Excellent hotel to stay at when visiting the art museums in Madrid.
Good
Everything was very good. Location was excellent, staff was very friendly. The only thing I would change is that I could hear a noise from other rooms in my own room
Great Location
Nice hotel in a great location, just steps from the Prado & Reina Sofia museums and near Atocha Station. Business class rooms. Good Wi-Fi connection. Clean. Only negative is the lack of soundproofing between rooms. I was told by the staff that they are working on the solution and are retrofitting to try and deal with the issue.
Touring Madrid
Great location. Nice room and bathroom. Room had a smell of cigarettes (even though it is a non-smoking hotel) when we checked in, probably from the cleaning staff. Left the window open and problem was solved.
Great location. Helpful staff.
Great service and the location was close to many nice places
Prado is literally across the street.
Stressful taxi strike made our stay a little tense. The hotel wa helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. Convenient location.
Clean, simple, and close to everything. This was a great easy hotel with a nice room and great location.
It is a very small and quiet hotel. I would rate it three stars, but it was comfortable and the perfect place for my family. If you are interested in visiting museums this is the perfect location. Walking distance from El Prado and Thyssen Bornemisza Museums, and about one to two miles from Reyna Sofia Museum. Unexpensive restaurants nearby (VIPS). Bus stops a few steps, and Hop On Hop Off stops one block from the hotel. Very small rooms, I loved the breakfast, and very polite personal.
Excellent location , service and treatment
The really bad thing was to do the BOOKING THROW EXPEDIA - You have not gave the conditions of the reservation as I Payed - You charge the cost immediately and not as was Offered with FREE CANCELATION AS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH YOU, WAS REALLY B A D !!!
Close to Prado.
As a female solo traveller, I felt very safe in the area where this hotel is located. I could walk everywhere which was a bonus. The reception staff were very helpful in any request I had.
This hotel is in a very convenient location for the Prado and other major attractions in the center of Madrid. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
All good
