The only thing I would suggest is that they check their a/c, they worked but they were turned up during the day and when we returned we had to lower the temperature down and it took time to cool down. Otherwise really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure.
Super nice
Clean room, delicious breakfast
Great location
Didn't use the pool or the gym as I was too busy sight seeing
Good location and nice rooms.
Pro: Nice hotel room. Cons: It’s quite far away from city centre. The hotel charged breakfast fee even we told the reception we won’t have breakfast.
I visited Lyon with my daughter for a few days and picked the hotel due to its close proximity to the attractions we planned on visiting. I’ll start with the positives. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful for the duration. The room was huge with 2 giant comfortable beds,a great shower, safe and most importantly air conditioning as the temperature was around 36-38 for our stay. The area around the hotel felt safe and was a short walk to the attractions. The river was close to the hotel and lovely to sit after dinner with an ice cream. The only negatives I found were a guest travelling with a dog left the poor thing one afternoon to bark and howl alone. This happened on 2 occasions and I notified reception as I had concerns that it had enough water during the heat. One evening around 22:00 the barking started again. Again I approached reception to resolve the matter. I requested to change rooms as the noise was disturbing my stay. The request was met and we enjoyed the rest of our visit. I did mention to the hotel that if they offer pet friendly rooms that they ensure owners take responsibility and not leave their pets alone in very hot weather! Also it’s the hotel’s responsibility to ensure guests aren’t disturbed by a dogs incessant barking. My only other gripe is the hotel’s policy of taking a €280 deposit in case we used the restaurant etc. The deposit is taken and refunded quickly after check out. Considering this I’d probably stay here again.
Rooms are a bit dated. The area looked like a war zone.
Family friendly and comfortable hotel. Spacious rooms, incredibly friendly staff, clean and great location to walk to all areas of Lyon. Pool is smaller than we expected but children still had fun. Breakfast buffet was good value for money with varied options of cooked and continental. Would definitely go back if ever in Lyon.
Great value for one night not very central
Close to restaurants and the train station very convenient
Really nice hotel in quieter part of city. Easy walk to the middle and old town parts of city. Lovely staff and breakfast options were good.
Excellent all around
Good location, valet parking very helpful, large clean room with good air-conditioning and housekeeping, and a friendly staff, all at a very reasonable rate.
This is a good hotel within walking distance of the major sites in Lyon. It’s well-maintained and the staff is professional.
Modern, quiet rooms with a fridge and a nice rain shower. Liked the "look" of the dining room and the bar area. Bonus: Free (bubbly) water refill stations and amazing breakfast! Small pool but okay. Suggestion: Why not put a Nespresso machine and conditioner, lotion in every room? This seems basic for a 4 star hotel.
Great hotel in Lyon...with an unexpected rain shower. Clean and comfortable.
Nice, clean hotel. They offer excellent breakfast. Very polite staff, fluent in english. Couple of minor things in the room: bathroom door wasn’t locking, needed adjustment, safe wasn’t working, but since we were staying just one night i did not bother to ask for fix or assistance, i recommend this hotel.
Facilities and Staff. Very polite and attentive

Visiting Lyon
Staff were helpful upon arrival. Assisted with scheduling with very early morning transport to airport. Close to metro and bus. Located close to old Lyon city
The property was fair. Location was not near any restaurants open on the weekend. Staff was sort of helpful, but did not offer any additional assistance like getting a taxi. Increased rates on a Sunday night. I’m sure it was for the Taylor Swift tax. Town was not equipped to handle concert and influx of tourists
..
Room was larger than expected and we got assistance from staff to resolve some issues with toiletries
one night stop before the airport
perfect location, nice peoples
Couple of nights in Lyon
This hotel was super easy to find, would be best to walk through the shopping centre as opposed to the and divert round it. A good location and easy to get to the old town etc. Rooms are very spacious which was a nice surprise!
This is a nice property with friendly staff who ensured the stay was comfortable. I checked in late and there were no dining options, either at the hotel or in the vicinity.
The hotel was excellent. The breakfast was excellent, but the hotel was not very nice to me. There was an error in my Expedia reservation ( it indicated 2 travelers but I was in fact traveling alone). They charged me extra for my room and an extra breakfast even when I asked them to remove the extra charges. And I speak French fluently! Never again will I stay at this hotel.
I didn’t like it
Great hotel. Good service, clean and comfortable room, amazing shower and good breakfast. Recommended. Merci.
A Beautiful Stay
A wonderful hotel in an incredibly walkable area of Lyon.
Très bon hôtel
Personnel accueillant et aux petits soins. Chambre très spatieuse et confortable. Buffet pour le petit-déjeuner exceptionnel !!!
Nice hotel with very friendly staff. The gym leaves a lot to be desired, no weights at just a handful of cardio machines.
Hotel was nice
Great stay
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Convenient location in between old town and train station.
Excellent
Great hotel!
Hotel in great conditions, very modern and with all comfort. Very close to public transportation in Lyon and close to Pod Lyon and great restaurants. Great service from staff. Excellent relation price - value.
I asked for a quiet room, but instead I got put in a room next to a busy lift which was very noisy all night. Asked to be moved but the hotel was full apparently.
Wow
The breakfast was really satisfying. Great choice and quality of food. The staff was helpful to guests in navigating the coffee machines and food stations.
Good stay, good service. Staff were professional and polite. Weather was warm. This city has great food, transportation and vistas. Enjoy
My 2 night stay was okay. The rooms were a good size. It was clean. I was charged a €440 deposit upon check in even though my room had been pre-paid and charged my friend €70. They tried to charge me €47 worth of extras upon check out. When I asked they automatically charged me for breakfast when you check out that had to be corrected. I actually only owed €5. The pillows are really bad. Not impressed. Only paper cups in the rooms. They didn’t come by to clean the room until 6pm the night before leaving so there was no point. I wouldn’t go back.
The direct connection to the airport made it very convenient for our early morning flight.
A different district of Lyon
Bed was on steel frame, and it was a funny design. Shower was fantastic.
Great
Overall really good stay! Room was spacious, easy check in and out, breakfast was more than complete. Staff pleasant and helpful. Location is excellent with buses, tram and metro nearby. Le Garage restaurant did not disappoint us, really good value for money. The room was really clean. Minor room for improvment: Pillows are really thin, no refill of tissue the last 3 days, shower head blocked with calcium/ limescale deposit so no water flow (bathroom remained cleaned, no issue). No conditionner or body lotion so bring yours.
Sodas at market down the street were locked obviously not safe around the area, pictures are not actually what the hotel looks like at all
Most comfy bed we have slept in and the pool was lovely
Really good stay
Good modern hotel with a great breakfast. The valet parking was also much appreciated and very efficient. Location of hotel was also really good.
Great stay in Marseille
This is a great choice if you're looking for a clean, comfortable aparthotel, within reasonable walking distance to the old harbor and the city center. The AC worked great (sadly, not always a given) and the staff was friendly. Wifi was fast enough for streaming. I'd stay here again and I highly recommend it.
Perfect location for a quick 2 night stay focused on food. Close to Halles Paul Bocuse and the Rhone River walk. Would recommend for all stays
La chambre est très spacieuse et le personnel très accueillant !
we are quite satisfied with this hotel, clean, good breakfast, good position.
Very nicely decorated and modern. Everything was clean. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good location for access to the train station (but you will need a taxi).
It has very much friendly staff in its reception who shows good hospitalities. It is easy to access every sightseeing spots with Metro and Tram though it is located in business area.
Stayed for three nights on a long weekend. Location perfect close to station & walking into town, each around 10 mins. Very friendly staff on reception. Large room which was very clean. Did not take the breakfast option as Lyon is full of cafes to sample. Only demerit was the supply of tiny paper cups to have your tea out of - ridiculously small & dangerous for hot liquids. Would recommend to others as close to Centre without the centre premium. Overall a great stay.
Hotel room good size, comfortable king size bed, tea|coffee facility. Hotel in good position.
Great location in a quiet street. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very clean.
Good, pretty simple hotel in a quiet part of town, but walkable to old town.
Very good location. Room was large and clean. Parking and breakfast overpriced.
Very good location 10 minute enjoyable walk to the centre. Room very clean and good size. Bar could be better and no lounge. Upon arrival, Given key to another guest’s room which was quite distressing Apart from that, would definitely recommend this hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade of our room. The location is good, in between the main railway station & the old town.
Nobody mentioned the fact the the restaurant and foyer was being refurbished
Very central, excellent rooms and air con! Shame about the building work but not too disruptive.
Good hotel, reasonable location if you're happy walking for 20-30 minutes to the old town.
Front entrance was under construction causing air in the room dusty. Staff at checkout was totally incompetent and undertrained that he could not produce the bill for more than 20 min. I had to make up the bill myself and got him to sign. 2 taxis were booked but only 1 showed up, had to wait another 20 min before 2nd taxi came. Very stressful experience as I had to rush to catch the train. Certainly the worst hotel checkout ever.
Everything was great! We enjoyed our stay! Thanks so much...
Good location, great service.
Nice hotel, located in the business district. A short stroll from the downtown. Very nice personell. Nice room with comfortable beds. The toiletries, and the climatization system could have been better.
Misleading ‘fitness centre’ and pool
Good breakfast buffet and location, however, false advertising with fitness centre - a top chain hotel should at least have some modern equipment and a few weights - and tiny pool despite photo on the website . Overall lack of facilities mean poor choice unfortunately
Staff hardly speaks any other than french. Dont understand management wont hire bilingual staff. On an international type hotel? This is not a lost town. Its a3rd city in france
Big bed! Great location near train station, perfect for excursions.
If you're looking for a base from which to explore Lyon, you can't go far wrong here. Walking distance from Part Dieu if you are accessing via train or airport (and then Rhone Express) - if probably not if you've got lots of bags; similarly it is walking distance from Presqu'ile and some of the main attractions. However public transport won't be direct even on the buses or tramway (still only a couple of streets away mind) Well sized room, welcoming reception staff, clean - so everything you want. It's not a "special" hotel if you want something over and above - the gym is quite basic in particularl- but otherwise it ticks all the boxes
15 minute walk to the Rhone, 10 minte walk to Paul Bocuse culinary market. Staff helpful and fluent in English.
EXCELENT LOCATION AND GREAT STAFF, RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF LYON
A very nice hotel which is a short walk from the train station and to the city.
Good place to stay
Enjoyed the hotel, the people at the desk were great, they didn't have much of the same wine, we asked for a vin de table. They had run out after the first bottle. This meant a change of wine. Other than that, the location was good, easy to get to Old Lyon, and plenty to do within walking distance
Excellent location
I picked well with this one...close to train station as well as tram and metro stops. Walking distance to food halls and Jacobins restaurants. Room modern and comfortable.
What the mice
Sat in bar on the Saturday and saw mice scurrying across the floor Challenged the barman he stated there are loads . Went to reception to complain where I was told there aren’t any and couldn’t understand what I was talking about . Either me and my 3 friends are seeing things or the hotel is infested . Not what I expect from a mecure hotel .
Tourism
Nice reception and bar. Did not use the restaurant.
Nice hotel in a good location
Clean, large room, efficient staff, well located, close to public transport.
Great location, very clean, terrific breakfast and helpful staff
Great location, great breakfast, superb service
The hotel is well located for business and pleasure alike. Rooms are comfortable and design is simple. Amenities are more 3 star (coffee, bathroom extras). Breakfast was superb and so was the service. Bathroom tub leaked and staff ignored the problem.
Very good value
Excellent breakfast buffet with nespresso coffee, fruit and delicious pastries as well as eggs and bacon. Large rooms with comfortable beds and effective mini fridges. Although we were on the first floor there was no issue with noise. Metro station nearby makes it easy to explore the city.
Nice hotel, close to tram, metro. Excellent staff, great breakfast, clean.
V helpful & accomodating staff
Convenient clean & comfortable. Didn’t eat there as had pre-arranged dinner appt. pool was quite small though, ideally hours of access for children could be dprcigued which would help with training & formal exercise.
Very spacious!! Comfortable bed, nice staff. Overall was a lovely experience.
The safe in the room was not working - unable to close it. I reported this more than once and was assured that it would be fixed. Up to when I left it was still not working. Other than this problem, we had a very enjoyable stay in this very nice hotel.
A very welcoming hotel, set in an excellent location being close to the river and only a 15 minute walk from the main train station but in a quiet position.
Clean, confortable, quiet, spacious rooms, very good buffet for breakfast, excellent service, nice indoor swimming pool, walking distance to Vieux-Lyon.
Great location, friendly staff 😊
Pumping it out in Lyon
Reception staff were excellent and helpful and the room was very comfortable. The gym was well equipped and equipment well maintained. I really appreciated having access to a concept 2 rower machine.
Very nice hotel. The lobby was nice and smelled great. Great area ot town.
Clean Hotel
Clean hotel located in an area walkable to most places. My only complaint is that on multiple occasions I was unable to get the front desk or concierge to answer our phone calls from the room. In one instance, I went downstairs and a front desk staff member told me that they were busy and all on the phone. When calling, however, the phone would rang endlessly and did not provide any notice message indicating that the line was busy. Such a large hotel should have sufficient staff the answer guest calls and a proper phone call management system.
A very nice hotel and staff. Only issue I had was booked a king size bed and was given a room with 2 queen beds. Didn't quibble with room because I didn't have the reservation handy and it was a later check in and I was exhausted. It was supposed to be king size bed but was told by a later hotel that sizes are different in France than US. Not sure if this is a hotel problem or an issue with how the booking site lists the room. So beware if this is important to you.
Big room, very good breakfast, very good location
Very nice hotel in a great location close to Lyon centre. Big room, very good breakfast, the only downside was that parking was quite expensive. But definitively would stay again
Very nice hotel
The hotel is a walking distance from the train station and city centre. I would say 20 min walk both ways. Nice building, comfortable bed, big room. It’s also quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly. So, there is nothing we didn’t like which makes it perfect :)
They charged breakfast fee which we didn’t eat.
