Nice place to staycation staff are very nice
Exceptional value for money, lots to do
What a fantastic hotel with great facilities throughout. There is no doubt that this is an older hotel, but it’s clean and safe. The food was excellent, portion sizes were large and always enough to share. The pool, slides, splash pad, cars, trampoline, chess and board games meant there were always lots to do. Plenty of sun beds and shade and family pool with jacuzzi. The views from the hotel are exceptional and make the trip fully worth while. Only thing to be improved would be the service, often slow getting served at the bar and restaurants, but not a huge inconvenience. Overall exceptional value for money in the UAE.
The property is dirty and needs refurbished fully
No wi fi access in the hotel, or the wi fi is very limited and weak
The weather is much better over there, especially in the summer
Good service
Short stay on the mountain with friends
Great place to stay at
Beautiful views, thrilling drive up to the top, cooler weather and clean rooms, friendly staff.
They should add robes, and hand towels in the room without making a request.
Perfect night away highly recommend
The location is amazing, the food is delicious, and the swimming pool is so refreshing! 🌴🍽️🏊♂️ we had an incredible time there! The staff at Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet were absolutely fantastic! They were friendly, helpful, and made my stay even more enjoyable. The service they provided was top-notch! 😄👍 can’t wait to come back again
Location is very nice
Good for families but showing its age
My kids love staying here because of the many activities available and the cool weather. The staff are also always helpful and pleasant. However, hotel facilities are beginning to show its age. And they have started to charge on using some of the activities. The front desk also seemed understaffed during our visit.
The location is unique and beautiful. The management of solid waste in the hotel and just outside of it is poor. Efforts should be made to respect the ecological integrity of this unique place.
Amazing
Though the hotel was kinda old but as it’s said *old is gold*
The property has amazing view ,However horrible condition of the room. With shower not in proper condition, Bathtub looks really bad with patch. Came all the way from Canada but very disappointed with condition of the room.Manager tried compensate with complimentary lunch which was Great but I should have not any money for the stay as it was in very bad condition.
Enjoyed our stay
Nice upgrade on arrival to city/pool view, but check in was painfully slow for a 11pm arrival time Breakfast was great, shower was good, bed is huge!!
Great hotel for Jabel Hafeet
This was not my first time stay in this hotel, however feel sad for the dilapidated appearance of this beautiful property. Things are getting worse over time. It is a very nice property and would love to visit if restored to her past glory.
Charged me twice by mistake Air conditioner was noisy which made it difficult to sleep On second day we told pool was closed, you could have told us the night before so we could have made other arrangements
Recommended for Short Staycation
Good Place for short stay with Family. Water rides and pool makes children's to enjoy max. We noticed outsiders accessing hotel pool and children's park which is creates over crowd and inconvenient to hotel visitors. Management should restrict the access to only Hotel visitors.
Mountain view
It used to be unique before now its getting worse. Asked for single queen bed given room with 2 double beds joined together. The room given to me is next to kids and teenagers room where banging the door all night then loud noise from the next room - asked for none smoking room got that but the next room they were heavily smoking make us uncomfortable and still have chest irritation until now, swimming pool with disaster at least 150 person were there totally uncomfortable
Location is the best part , in the mountains it gives a pleasing experience. The staff is good but maybe overloaded as they do not respond quick or are in a hurry to execute tasks at hand. The duty manager needs to pay more attention however either he is not available or not even appointed. I hope this property to be run more professional and with better quality toiletries and towels which in several cases you will find of poor quality or overused / tattered
Good Location. Good Property. Good staff. But Food was not so tasty; and Worth.
Disappointed
The hotel is very old , the cleanliness in the room is terrible, we found nails on the ground from previous stay. We have also asked for water fill up in the day we checked out and it was rejected The towels handed to us on the pool were very very old The hotel should be renovated and they have not utilized outdoor area with nice scenery to have the breakfast their for example.
Very good
Lovely place
Even though the hotel is not that new anymre, it is a lovely place. The staff is super friendly, the breakfast was nice, and the surrounding mountain creates a special atmosphere. Altogether, we had a very pleasant stay.
Review
Hotel was good. We initially booked a deluxe room but gave us a free upgrade to a superior room when we checked in, which was awesome. The room needs some maintenance though, AC control is not working properly, toilet flush is weak, shower is not working properly (we need to put something in the pin to open the shower to keep it going). But these are just minor things, everything was taken over by the great view that we had. Will we come back? Maybe no, once is enough. Just to experience the hotel’s location.
Not fair to write much as the hotel was running with Pandemic conditions and restrictions that are associated with it. Over all experience was good.
Nice stay
It was a good experience at the property, you can enjoy the weather. Staff specially restaurants are not that friendly.
reception staff Amima is very friendly, good service
Great Christmas stay in Dec. 2020
We had a great stay. The hotel was one of a kind, located on top of the mountail (Jebel Hafeet) and in fact quite fresh - even chilly at night time, in December. (Can't wait to visit it in summertime for a break from the scorching heat of the "lowlands".) I found the staff very (VERY) professional. Ms Thereza and Mr Ali in particular, but also the excellent chef at Belvedere restaurant, the manager and all the staff at breakfast whose name I cannot recall, made it a great stay over Christmas day 2020. (The Christmas dinner and also a quick lunch we had the following day were excellent, quality- and taste-wise; frankly so, for our often too demanding European palate :-).) I had read various negative reviews before coming here, and almost cancelled our booking because of those, but quite honestly, I didn't find a glimpse of a negative experience or a point to raise, asides what cannot be helped: anti-Covid19 measures that made breakfast a race at peak hours (nobody's fault) or the night chill that sometimes prevented us from enjoying our drinks till late on the great balcony at Al Khayma café (still, the staff did their best to accommodate any request we had, any given time.) Same goes for the reception staff at the lobby, and for the room catering staff. We will certainly visit this place again. Two couples and a child, for this matter. From Europe.
not a good experience
We had to leave one day early Breakfast:i feel safe distancing was not followed as the restaurant was fully packed so we decided to skip the breakfast Service: My wife asked if she can go outside to the outdoor and she was told it was closed... to discover the next day it was open hotel: very outdated! We felt a very unease feeling with bug bites! We decided to leave one day earlier although we paid for it.
I am hotels.com gold member, was told I’d get a free upgrade, I did not. Was told the hotel was full, it was not. Was told the pool bar was open, it was not. The staff at the pool and restaurant were the least attentive staff I’ve ever come across. Breakfast served in cramped room with no ventilation. Had to ask to keep the doors open. Extremely high covid risk. Hotel it’s self is dated by 30 years, needs major investment. Apart from the view it’s a terrible hotel.
This hotel is far from the 4 star it says it is. I would say definitely more like 2.5 stars. It is very much dated. Check in was slow, but I think it's because the hotel is very much understaffed. I was not offered any VIP amenities that is mentioned on Expedia either. Our room was large enough for the rollaway we asked for, but we had to remind check in to put it in our room. Also, we wanted two twin beds and were told someone would come separate them for us. This should be done before guests arrive. In our room, we were left two large towels. We went to call housekeeping, but phones do not include extensions, so we dialed 0. We were given one extra large towel and never given the hand towels we asked for (twice). Old towels are given when you check into the pool (we had to wait for someone at the desk, but again, hotel is understaffed). The grounds had lots of trash strewn about (guests are also to blame for this, but also the lack of staffing--the same lady who brought our rollaway was the same that was seen picking up trash at the pool and at breakfast). We did room service for dinner. Had to call after food was delivered to ask for ice (which comes in a big ice bucket without a top and with a spoon) and other missing items. Steak was definitely overcooked even though we asked for medium. For breakfast, we were allowed to sit 5 to the table though social distancing regulations right now should be 4. Very crowded in the area and uncomfortable for me.
The room was clean but a bit run down. There was mould in the grout in the bathroom but the bed and facility’s were very comfortable. There didn’t seem enough staff for the amount of people and many of the facilities were closed or cornered off eg ice cream shop, restaurants, children’s play area.
Unhappy visitor
It was disappointed. I really think that the Hotel needs an overall maintenance. All that was good of our visit was the staff that tried to do everything to help us and was going out of their way to make the stay better. Food was not good at all. Rice was over cooked. Meat was overdone. If we order one thing we was served with something else. But most of all the hotel need to get attention and really the maintenance need attention. Toilets was not working proper. Ac problem. Noises of the water pipes in the evening. Paintwork But a big thank you to the staff
Good location on top of hafeet mountain . Rooms can receive some renovations. Swimming pool is nice
First and Last time to visit
This hotel is one of the worst hotel in the world. The staff are unfriendly and rood The room is unclean i found a big yellow spot on the bed sheet, and when i ask to change it they said its normal like this its from the washing machine!! Really? The balcony is very small you can't set there only stand And the main reason to choose this hotel is for the view. The tv channels are not stable and all the time stops.
It was a comfortable stay
The Staff made the stay! (And the views, too!)
The great staff is the highlight of the Mercure. From check in to check out the staff was wonderful. We stayed one night on a Friday night and really enjoyed the break from the heat of Abu Dhabi. It’s at least 10 degrees cooler. The pool was refreshing and we really enjoyed the wind and the view at the mountaintop restaurant. All details were taken care of for us; as soon as we walked out to the pool the staff was arranging disinfected sun loungers for us. The food at the pool restaurant was great and we had both dinner and lunch the next day there. I had the chicken breast with grilled vegetables and for lunch I had the turkey club sandwich with fried shrimp. The prices are very, very reasonable. The Deluxe room (pool view) was perfect and spacious enough. Very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had a curtain and could use a redo but otherwise it was fine for us. The balconies are quite tiny, but we managed to pull the chairs out, sit and enjoy the sunrise with our favorite cocktails. The gym needs some attention though. The rower was not functional, and there are no disinfection hand wipes or towels to wipe down the machines and weights. I was able to get a quick workout in but would probably not return. There were quite a few other fun activities available like ping pong, mini golf and pool I noticed other guests playing and they looked like they were having lots of fun. We were able to walk up to the top of the mountain from the hotel and
Smoke smells irritates. Not even disposable tooth brush and paste. Waiting time for checkin. Even we have Expedia booking.
Good choice
All in all it was good at this time of the year except the cleanness of the room need to be improved and monitored , spa towels always have shortage
Nice Stay
The satay was awesome! Great view from the top, amazing weather.
Excellent hotel but a few more staff needed.
I have always loved this hotel and took my friends for a weekend staycation. There was a bit if difference from previous times which you must except during Covid. There was a lack of staff especially in the restaurant at breakfast time. It took 3 request and then a manager to get drinks which came well after we had finished our food. We were not able to get water at the pool as no one was around. We had to go inside to the hotel restaurant ourself to buy some. The staff are fantastic and kind and helpful, they are just too few. The pool was awesome but at times above the limit of 40 and many people were wearing normal clothes in the pool. There are a lot of hornets around the pool but they never stung anyone and it was great to see nature around us. Food was very cheap and really yummy. The rooms are huge and very clean. The weather was unbelievable; so cool and breezy. You would not think at all that you were still in the UAE. I will go back again as I really love this hotel. When checking out I received 2 phone calls within 10 minutes to check I was leave at 12. The second call was while I was standing at reception at 12:01 pm. This showed me they were really pressed for staff for room cleaning and I was a little put off by this. Overall. A good stay. Fantastic staff and a great location.
Pool area not as vast as appears from picture angle. Not sure how they can advertise it as having three swimming pools - we only saw one main pool. It was also smelly around the pool and there were lots of flying hornet type creatures didn't allow for any relaxing. Plus side is the room, although dated, was clean and spacious and the bed was comfy. And nicely located for access to the top of Jebel Hafeet. However I'd stay elsewhere in Al Ain and drive up one evening - we went as far as cancelling our second night and rebooked at Aloft - so glad we did!
Relaxing stay
Great location, amazing view. The staff is very nice and the food amazing
Sometimes upheaval helps 2 find clarity of purpose
We have stayed at the Mercure 3 times and the first 2 times were amazing but this last visit disappointed us quite a bit. The food service was slow and disjointed... Understandably the hotel is grappling with reopening during a covid pandemic but I told the receptionist that at this time they have 3 things that they have control over 1. Location 2. Service and 3. Food. On location they win all day everyday. On service, they were disappointing... Did not seem to know what to do. Slow service with certain ordered items forgotten. On Food, it was less satisfactory. The menu is not that extensive and for a well trained kitchen staff they should easily execute it..but no, the food was lacklustre and cold by the time it reached us. The room service seemed inundated and slow with some of the order missing. Overall, we were disappointed this time around but we will definitely go back there because we understand that this pandemic has thrown everything and everybody out of sync. We love Mercure and we are sure they will bounce back to be as amazing as they were pre COVID-19.
Good service
Best for honeymoon!
Isolated from the city life on top of mountain with all the facilities in one house .. good sightseeing.. good city view
Great Place to stay
It was amazing we loved it and kids were very happy. thank you so much staff was amazing and very cooperative. We will be looking forward to stay again
The location is amazing. It's right at the top of Jebel Hafeet Mountains.
Great family stay! @ a super location
Super location and great view from the hotel. Fast check in and check out. Many activities available. Food was not that much good.
Nice place to stay. Overall is good.. Only thing I didn't like that water stays remain in bathroom floor
Escape the buzz of everyday UAE life
Really quiet family trip
We book a room for 4 (2adults and 2 kids) we found 2 single beds in the room which is not enough to accomodate us all, communicated the staff to say if they can add a mattress they said no. Bedskirt were torn and dirty. The room and actually all the hotel were having smell. Our friends room shower were not working properly and the shower keeps turning off. The grass area around the pool had poop and urine smell. I dont recommend wasting money for such property while u can just for a day trip to check jebel hafeet view. Save your money for another place, i will never go back
Nice weather on top mountain compared to the rest of the country. Quality of food needs to be enhanced. Hotel does need some renovation. Price is fair and overall was a satisfying stay
Didn’t like anything and this is my last time dealing with expedia
Amenities were great. Needs to organize kids activities. I did not like their insistence to pay for my kids extra bed, which mostly I do not do in other hotels.
Excellent.
Excellent.
Lovely stay
The staff is very friendly and willing to help in any way needed. Room service was prompt and food was good. The bed is large and could sleep more than 2 adults 😁 Great view of the pool area.
Disappointing stay.
Very poor standard of accommodation in need of maintenance. Public areas were dirty as was our room. Noisy.
Nice overnight stay
Pleasantly surprised by mini golf and other games available in hotel - view was not as impressive as on the pictures but hotel was fine
Medium comfort
Not really happy with this stay, as the hotel is condition is old, service is good but not as 4 star hotel
Amazing
Good hotel for a short stay
Outdated furniture. Good hotel location. Small rooms. Nice outdoor activities. Good value for the money. Overall, satisfactory stay.
رائع ومريح
الفندق جميل ومريح واستقبال رائع وخدمات سريعة فقط يعيبه بعد الفندق عن الأماكن التجارية وعدم السماح بإحضار الوجبات من الخارج
Loved the mountain setting! Room service was nice. Workout area had equipment that worked well.
Nice hotel, great location and views. The swim up bar area could do with refurbishment but the hotel as a whole was nice. Friendly, attentive staff.
Staff are very friendly and i got an upgrade on arrival. THANKS
Well kept property. Excellent staff. Excellent view.
It okay but hotel is not what I expected I was telling them to clean my room and they refused it just can clean my room from 6am to 6 pm
Lovely Hotel
It's a lovely hotel with great staff and service.
Perfect location, little dated rooms
It is a fantastic location , very good view from your room but the furniture in the room feels little dated. Lot of indoor sports option
Okay
The hotel is okay. It needs updating. The best part is the pool and the view.
Great place for family with children
The pillows were uncomfortable and the ironing machine was very old. I loved the view and staff service was very fast. The room was clean and very well organized. Thank you.
Nice
Nice location at top of the mountain with nice views. Nice pool and minigolf. Claim your 20% off of food/beverages early enough though and at least before you pay!
vacation with kids
kids like the pool and water slides, though a litte cold on mesa with strong wind in this season. Pool bar is also great. We played mini-golf too. The facility is pretty new and well maintained. The lobby is decorated like a garden.
Nice hotel beautiful scenery
Very good beautiful scenery nice rooms missed iron and some amenities.
Relaxing day out of Dubai
If you are tired of city, go for couple of days to this place. It is in Al Ain. The drive is 2 and half hours from Dubai. The swimming pool is awesome & make use of it. Some days in the night , they have Arabic singer with that bar facing the city lights of Al Ain. It is a good experience for travelers who are not from Middle East. overall it is worth spending 2 days, if you have some time to spend.
Amazing stay at Mercure Grand Al-Ain :)
Location, location, location... The best part of Mercure Grand is it's GRAND location! We were four families along with bunch of kids. Had a superb time at the hotel. Pool, mini golf, buffet breakfast, comfortable rooms...everything was just perfect! Will surely visit again next year... :)
Exquisite
This luxury mountain-top hotel has panoramic views in all directions. The food was excellent (though expensive).
rude reception
Amazing place however the reception was rude, maybe because we are asian guest. i never received our shaving kit even i called for 2 times until finally we decided to check out early. the management should give more trainning to the staff.
not recommended
we went to this hotel to relax in the weekend ; i expected un upgrade since i have the gold expedia membership ; but they didn;t do any upgrade . Although the room is good but the curtains are very old and the balcony was not clean with some cigarettes butts!! And when i asked for water bottles to the room they said we have to pay !! Even for a tea bag for a morning tea they said it should be paid ! In the last few years i tried many lower stars hotels in many countries and in UAE ; i can say that i didn't feel we were welcome in this hotel ..... Most of the hotels in UAE specifically they focus on cutomer satisfaction and they try their best to provide a welcoming atmosphere ........ It is not a matter of money ; but this is the first time for me to pay for water or tea bag in ahotel!!
Panoramic view
My second time there and definitely great. We would appreciate if the pool could open early than 9 am as it's too hot and under the sun. Nice in the evening until 9 pm. We tried their pizzas, was good.
Great place to relax.
Fantastic stay. Great place to get away from the city to. Beautiful views (although a little hazy in summer) and an awesome pool. Mini golf is fun and staff were all very friendly. Shout-out to Ahmed Abbas Shokry who is the restaurant and bar manager. He made the trip fantastic by being very friendly, personalised service and attentive. Food in the restaurant was great. Negative is the food and adult beverages pool side. Best to stick to pre-mixed drinks and eat elsewhere. Will defiantly go back again.
Memorable stay with Mercure Grand
It was really wonderful staying at Mercure Grand Hotel especially for kids who enjoyed swimming, Mini Golf, Table Tennis etc. at hotel facility all together.
most wonderful location with stunning views
quiet, relaxed, good facilities, unique location yet not remote - al ain nearby; also very close to Omani border
the location is perfect
the hotel is beautiful, staff are professional and give the best services, all smiling faces
The staff was fantastic, cooperative, helpful, friendly. Specially a lady at the reception called Lamiaa. The lobby areas were beautiful and well kept. Restaurants need to enhance their variety. The room conditions were very well kept. But the rooms were small, inadequate in natural light during day. Maybe a bigger balcony could help improve the situation. Moreover, the rooms need upgrading. The amenities and the decor of the room and the bathroom are now outdated. I'm not saying they are bad but they seriously need a modernisation touch.
Location of the hotel is the only advantage
I just enjoyed the view of the mountains but the hotel needs complete renovation
just an overnight stop .. the location was why we stayed.
I was great but the food was expensive
amazing view from mountain day and night nice pool
joyful but kids playing area outside at the pool (sliding in their swimming pool) needs more safe considerations. the end of the slider is very close from the bottom of the pool which is risky and might cause bone damage at the back of the kids
we enjoy in this hotel every thing it's ok we hope more restaurant and cafe in this hotel
Merc
Room service was tasty .breakfast buffet was poor for the price. Be careful in the kiddie area of the pool. Edge into deep end is slippery. Rooms are dated and bathrooms need to be upgraded for the price.
nice driving course
very satisfied
Very dated
