The Match Hotel more than exceeded our exceptions. It's an older property that shows a few wrinkles, but more than makes up for this in the friendliness of its staff. They aren't intrusive, but so personable. The property is quiet. The inner courtyard is so under-utilized but yet so peaceful and elegant. I wish Match has every success so their efforts are appreciated by more customers. Despite not having the customers to justify a dinner service, we asked and they cooked a special meal for only the two of us....now that's SERVICE!

It was a pleasure to stay at the Match villa it close to many tourist attractions. But the rooms need batter up keeping, there was mold, broken furnitures, a foul odor the kitchen wasn't even cookable never mind the utensils. The staff seemed very intimidated of the owner. Over all we had a great time. I recommend a reevaluation to the villas for better upkeep.

The owner and staff are kind, responsive to needs and create a family atmosphere at this quaint homelike hotel. Big shout out to Alloy for exceptional service. I'll definitely stay again!!

A hidden gem! The staff were friendly and helpful. Accommodation was spacious with great amenities including Tele with cable, AC, kitchenette with kettle, cooker and toaster. It was a quiet and relaxed stay.

This is my 4th time visiting this property and I am never disappointed. My wife and I favorite vacation stay in Portland . It’s so quiet and peaceful….

The breakfast service needs some improvement.

The hotel grounds are good; however, the rooms need some basic upgrades/maintenance. The bedroom doors were hanging off hinges and couldn’t close/lock, the kitchen and bathroom faucets are not working or about to fall off. Not worth staying for a long vacation until they address the basics.

I've stayed at this property many times, primarily because my Expedia points make the stay nearly free. The staff is always nice, but the owner consistently falls back on his word, causing issues. The bathrooms are terrible with leaking toilets that don't flush well, and very small showers with horrible drainage, leading to flooded floors. On this visit, I booked a two-bedroom villa through Expedia for $75, which was a surprisingly good price. Upon arrival, the owner tried to charge me over $200, explaining that the listed price was incorrect. I booked through Expedia for $75, and although he claimed that price wouldn't cover costs, he eventually honored it and upgraded us to a three-bedroom villa since the two-bedroom was under construction. He also gave us a late check-out. If you're looking for a last-minute place with running water and a bed, this could work. They offer a free breakfast, though we weren't offered it and had to buy our own tissue.

Match Resort was amazing! The staff were outstanding, friendly and helpful, always there to assist with whatever we needed. Breakfast was delicious! Property was peaceful and better then we expected! Will definitely stay again! Do not pass this one up it is everything you’ll need in Portland.

I like the property but it needsto be updated. I stay in H4 the ac was not working at first its an very old unit the sliding door to balcony does not work easy. Didn't like the fact that i check in at 230 am on the 31st and i want to stay untill the 1st i had to pay extra so we checked out at 2pm on the 31st..

I think it’s my 3rd time visiting and it’s my absolute favorite place in Portland. It’s so quiet and peaceful and the breakfast is very tasty . I will definitely visit again in my next trip .

Based on the location of the property is would be ideal if the property provide some regular shuttle services to the beach and shopping areas. 2 hour intervals leave the property and designated pick-up points.

This is the second time my husband and I visited this property….. and again I loveeeee it here…. It’s sooo peaceful and quiet and the staffs are very friendly…. Did I mentioned that the breakfast is excellent…. I will definitely be visiting again . My only problem was the road is verrrrryyyyyy bad . My first time there the road was worst tho , I hope they will fix the road soon .

Staff was pleasant, and helpful. Breakfast was served on time and was always good. The boss always interacted with the guests, they made sure that everything was taken care of.

I booked this hotel last min & i wasn't disappointed, for the price it was comfortable & safe. Staff was very welcoming & helpful, we even got a bigger room. The best part was breakfast we really enjoyed it.

I'll never stay here again, nor will I recommend this hotel to anyone. The property/rooms look awful. The washcloths and towels need to change. I've seen motels in better condition. Their so-call security lied about the hotel not having a microwave. Instead of trying to help us, he went back to his phone as usual. Only to be told by the chef that morning that they have a microwave, which is accessible to everyone staying at the hotel. And to top the list, they do not have a water tank to supply the hotel. They woke us up one morning to say that there is no water and though they ordered it, the water won't arrive in the next 30-45mns. Worst birthday/vacation ever !!

Overall a nice property, if they had the proper management and the owner not doing EVERYTHING it would be better. Time to pay, the owner has to come in, guest must wait, anything broken, owner has to come, he never did for the clogged bath tub. No towel service, staff don’t show up, NO ONE at the front desk. Chef only one on property, can’t answer questions, it’s not his capacity anyway, he did the best he could. Dining area needs care, ants in the sugar, please use a sugar shaker not a bowl. No coffee, no staff to turn on water and machine in the early morning. I think it comes down to owner not wanting to pay and is cheap. Guest service comes first. While you’re not able to measure up to large properties, please improve the SERVICE, your staff is complaining to the guest, because you don’t pay them, they have no interest in showing up to perform. Please incentivize them and encourage them, they want to work. You nickle and dime them and they become disenfranchised. Why is front office cleaning rooms, working in laundry, helping in the dining room. You need a phone so guest can call from the room. I feel bad as a guest, this taints the experience. Not sure I would recommend.

We Had an amazing time, the staff was A1, very polite, friendly and helpful. The food was great we enjoyed our breakfast everyday, had Dinner on a Sunday evening and it was definitely what I expected ❤️. Thanks For being such a welcoming staff, Y’all made it feel just like home. Big Up The Chef and the Waitress ❤️

Match Resort was the perfect affordable option for a quick overnight stay in Portland. The staff was very kind and the room was clean. I loved that each room has it's own private veranda. Breakfast was delicious. The only negative was that at 6am on a Sunday morning, someone was cleaning pots and pans in the kitchen directly below my window for over an hour, it was quite loud and kept me awake. "Clank-Clank" So just be sure to request a room away form the kitchen/dining area. :) Overall it's a wonderful place!

Good place, comfortable easy access and good rooms

Match is nice affordable accommodation with modern room setup. The property has a pool and an on site restaurant and a small store with the little essentials in case you forgot them or just need snacks. The food is great as well and the staff there from the owner , front desk and housekeepers are warm and welcoming. Match definitely gives a great home away from home feeling.

Service was pleasant. Received a room upgrade for a slight cost which was nice. Air conditioner was effective and the location of the hotel being a short drive to Boston Beach was fine. Breakfast was tasty. The bar was closed, the pool seemed dirty, and there was no water or coffee in the room. The hotel was under renovations and the facelift will help. Sadly the road to the hotel was under repair so the drive in was a hazard. Once these changes occur the hotel will be a better place to stay. At this time I can't recommend it.

This was a refreshing experience! The staff were expecting me upon arrival and were so welcoming. And breakfast was delicious!! Very authentic Jamaican food. This property is right next to the Trident castle & Only 5 mins drive from Frenchman’s Cove (literally)!! Great experience 🔥🔥

Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The beds were plush. Most of the rooms have a balcony which is great for relaxing. Breakfast was included and was good. Wish the bar was open in the evenings as there isn't much to do entertainment wise unless you venture out unto town. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay at this hotel was very peaceful. The road was very terrible but I enjoyed my stay and the breakfast was delicious.

Really enjoyed our stay at Match. Staff were great and friendly, always happy to help. Food was amazing, compliments to both of the chefs. Manager always keen to hear where they can improve and seemed to want the best for customers. I would say that a little TLC to the place would have made the stay 5 star - a lick of paint, room furnishings etc. Facilities such as the bar and pool didn’t seem to get used. Wi-Fi worked in certain areas but patchy in the room. Would highly recommend a stay here though.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property. It was amazing! The rooms look exactly like the pictures!! The lady at the front desk was very kind and offered excellent customer service. We ordered dinner and didn't want to wait for it. She was kind and brought it to our room. I asked another lady if she could tell me where the ice machine was and she offered to go get the ice for us. The kitchen staff was amazing as well. The food was good and always hot! Im amazed by our experience. The resort is in a private location so its far from traffic. At night it was silent and peaceful. The pool was always open and I was able to shower with hot water.

I am writing this review in all honesty, I just want people to know what to expect when staying at Match Resort. The room was really nice except for the ants. It had a comfortable bed and a good shower. The daily roomservice was good, very clean. The rest of the „resort“ is very unorganised though, the management is questionable.The free breakfast is kind of a joke, it is not a buffet as you‘d expect it from a resort. You have to pre-order the food the day before for a specific time and there are very few options. As a vegetarian I got to choose between calalloo and cabbage. There was fish in it twice although I mentioned several times that I eat neither meat nor fish. One morning we waited for half an hour because no one was in the breakfast area. When someone did arrive, she told us off because we weren’t there at 8.30 straight (we came down at like 8.33…). Also dinner has to be pre-ordered, you can‘t just come and eat dinner whenever you want. We didn‘t know that as it was not told to us during check-in so when we wanted to order dinner once without pre-ordering it, they were rather pissed. The food was mostly okay-good. Most of the staff were nice but a bit lost sometimes. One lady was rather rude and it seemed like she didn‘t really care. The location is also not very handy, there is nothing in the area in a walking distance, you have to get a taxi in order to go anywhere. If you‘re looking for something cheap and you don‘t have any expectations then you can come here.

The staff was superb. They did everything they could do within their powers to make us comfortable. The amenities are outdated and rooms need updating. The dressers and closets were broken. The roads to the location are really bad. Overall the place is just ok if you need a place to sleep when in Portland. werupgrading.
