Place was perfect. 2 minutes walking from bus station and 8 minutes from train. View was amazing.

I ave stayed here a number of times and for me it is the go too hotel. Great location, value , staff and it is spotless

Overlooking the marina. A short walk to the area for pickup for the cave boat tours. Also a short walk to old town Lagos, with shops and sidewalk cafes. Great location and a lovely hotel.

Perfect Stay

Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Great location, close to the Marina and also the old town which we love. Rooms were modern, fresh & bright. Slept really well as the beds were comfy and there was no noise at all early morning or late at night, which is a bonus on holiday. Pool is very small but still a good addition. Hope to return next year.

The hotel was in a great location and very well equipped with everything you could need. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The Marina Rio Hotel is situated in a great spot in Lagos. What a welcoming, hard working staff. Be sure to pay extra for a Marina view, it’s worth it. The hotel feels bright, fresh, clean and friendly. Breakfast buffet is available between 8am to 10am…what a great choice of food available…even Tetley tea in a pot! Bedroom decorated in a good blend of colours. En suite was walk-in with detachable shower head. Roof top pool is small but cooling on a hot day. Great views from sun bed area with comfortable beds. All in all a great choice for a stay in Lagos.

Magnificent location, close to the train station and everything you need to be in Lagos. ATTENTION IS SUPER IMPORTANT, especially MR. JORGE from the reception. who offered excellent help to a problem that was presented to me. and additional valuable information about places to visit

Very nice hotel with beautiful views of Marina and the river, close to everything, and walking distance to the beach. Very friendly reception staff. Breakfast was also very nice, it was a buffet style with good selection, but you can also place an order if you like something else. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Modern Hotel

A lovely modern hotel in a great position to walk to the marina or to the old town or beach!! Perfect 👍

Marino Rio is a fantastic hotel. Room was spacious and cleaned everyday. Staff super friendly and helpful. Roof top pool and lounge was a nice extra.

Wonderful hotel. I strongly recommend selecting a marina-view room. The other side of the hotel overlooks the regional bus station. Also select the breakfast option if you are an early riser. Many of the eating choices nearby do not open til 9 and have prices that may be more than what the hotel charges.

Very clean modern property. Easy access to marina and right by the bus terminal. Walkable to old town. Definitely recommend getting a marina facing room!

The staff was so gracious, answering all of our questions. The location was great, right across from the marina. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in either Portugal or Spain.

My friend and I stayed at Marina Rio in October 2014. We enjoyed it then and it hasn't disappointed us on this visit. The bedrooms have been revamped, excellent! The breakfast has something for everyone and my only comment would be the tables are close together. (Understandably as you need a place for all the visitors). Lovely walk to the town, great walk by the sea on the 'new' boardwalk. Lots of lovely eateries etc. I hope to return. Thank you.

Nice view and balcony. No water except 1 commentary bottle upon arrival. Did not have breakfast due to it costing money so unsure how it was. Probably would try the hotel next to it next time.

Great stay in Lagos

Very nice stay on Lagos marina. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and convenient location

The room and hotel are exceptionally clean. Room is spacious. Breakfast is separate and an extra charge but it was worth the convenience.

Noisy on back side of hotel with bus station and school. Couldnt keep windows open or use balcony. No double beds. No option with a pillow top for a double or queen. Two singles made up as singles. Unheard of.

We were able to check our bags due to an early arrival. Our room was ready right on time. The room was a nice size with a lovely view of the marina from the balcony. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and drinks from the bar. This hotel is a short walk to the center of town, restaurants, shopping and beaches. It was a perfect stay!

Arrived really early in the morning after a night flight into Faro and the front desk staff were great. Stored our bags and bike, gave us access to the room early. Great customer service. Rooms are nice ( but don’t love the custom of pushing together two single beds with two sets of sheets) and very clean. Breakfast was good. Location is great. Giant stork in a nest right across the street was added bonus.

Great hotel - roomy, pretty, nice restaurant. They have limited hours on fitness room, that was inconvenient, plus not close to town and not walkable. Don’t bother with ocean view, it’s noisy and not that great of a view. Liked the room and bed a lot. Lovely property

Great Location

Excellent location. Very spacious room. Right across from the marina, around the corner from the bus station, and a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. The included breakfast was also very good. Close to several restaurants. Highly recommend

This was a lovely property in an excellent location. It is situated maybe a five minute walk to the old town but you are right across the street from the Marina. You can walk to the Hotel from the train station which is at the Marina. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the Marina. The Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. There was a little bit of everything. Even Portuguese tarts. I hope to be able to stay here again one day. Stayed May 2023

This was my second time staying at Marina Rio. The property is centrally located, very clean, with excellent service! The pool area on rooftop is really nice. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Really good location for marina, old town and bus station. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Bed very comfortable Nice roof terrace and swimming pool area. Very clean. Only negative is that bottle water was not provided each day.

Pretty standard hotel in the port. Breakfast was really good. The lifts are very slow and stairs are difficult to find (especially from the breakfast area).

This hotel has thought of everything! There was nothing that we needed as they had it all. Good location close to everything. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Stay here, you won't be sorry

Great find in Lagos

1st Class Hotel! !Every comfort in the tastefully decorated rooms with all the facilities you could wish for. Ideal location on the Main Street of Lagos for access to shops, the Marina and Restaurants The Breakfast was excellent! What more is there to say!! We shall certainly return here!

This is a wonderful hotel! Hang at the beautiful pool, eat amazing tapas!! They have an adorable children's area. However, you need a car to get to town or any of the water activities.

Very nice brief stay here, no complaints except that all rooms in the back, including ours, look out over a bus station parking lot.

We loved this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty. The hotel was very clean and spacious. We would definitely come back when returning to Portugal. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Also loved the location.

Our 27 night stay was amazing. Great service. Everyone at the hotel is so helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. Couldn’t be happier. Stayed there in 2022 and will go again in 2024

I cannot speak more highly of everything about the hotel. We've stayed here before, so we knew it was lovely (as are all the staff) but when my wife had an accident which required an ambulance to be called, we were eternally grateful for the assistance given by Georgii the receptionist- and to the support from his colleagues. Everything else about the Marina Rio is first class, from the breakfast to the rooms and the facilities, and would highly recommend.

This was as good as a 5 star property. It was absolutely excellent. The quality of the room, the staff, the location. And fantastic value for the money. I would highly recommend Marina Rio.

Great location. Nice modern rooms with balcony and drying rack on balcony! I had a water view. My friend had a bus depot view so ask for a water view! The staff is very helpful. The breakfast is fresh and has a nice assortment

The hotel was clean and nice. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options, even though dining space was small. The only disappointing thing was that the room was not facing marina. The pool was nice, but again not facing marina, but there is a tanning area facing marina.

Excellent location! Very pleasant stay would definitely stay there again. Rooms are very modern and clean. Loved the roof top pool and lounges with a beautiful view of the marina.

Great little hotel in perfect position. Have been before and the refurb is a very good improvement. For couples this is an ideal choice.

Lovely stay

Would recommend and stay here again. Lovely views from the balcony, the staff were phenomenal. The place was absolutely spotless, and the roof/pool is great to have. Location is good too, close walk to the old city center and the beaches.

First time staying at the Marina Rio and what a lovely place to stay. From the first class service, helpful and pleasant staff to the lovely rooms we stayed in. We had a marina view and was glad of that. Breakfast buffet is ideal as you can then explore all the other restaurants in Lagos. Many to chose from. Love Lagos and this hotel is an ideal setting to stay there. Would highly recommend this hotel to stay for anyone. Will be staying again if we ever in Lagos

Last minute stay

We booked this stay last minute after mishap with another booking. The receptionist was very welcoming when we came in and we enjoyed the rooftop pool and marina lookout terrace during our stay. The room was comfortable and equipped with all we needed. Would book again!

The office manager Mr Miguel is the best hotel manager that I have ever met. He made us very welcome and took extraordinary effort to help communicate with Avis car rental Company on Our behalf. We had difficulty communicating because we had no Portuguese knowledge and communications in English were next to impossible. Miguel Is a GEM and the hotel Is lucky to have him

Location is right on the harbor next to a public parking lot and lots of restaurants. All water excursions are available to purchase just across the street.

Good value for price

Overall this hotel is great! Updated, helpful staff, parking (3 euros a day in a lot right next to the hotel), safe, and a good location. If you are looking for a hotel that is within a 10 to 20 minute walk anywhere downtown Lagos this is the place for you.

The location is great. The people working there are extremely friendly. There is parking in a lot next to it for a small fee per day. Just don't forget to put a coin in at 9AM.

Beautifully renovated property right across from Lagos Marina and walking distance to the old town and all shops and restaurants. Pay extra for a front facing room with balcony as the view is fantastic and it is less noisy than the back where the bus station is. Room was not large but functional as was bathroom and everything was clean and new. Clothes rack on balcony to hang wet clothes was a plus as was the table and chairs. Breakfast was well worth it and selection was more than adequate. Breakfast staff were phenomenal and all staff very friendly. Hotel has two free parking spots in front of hotel on street if you are lucky enough to get one; otherwise, there is a parking lot right next door for 1 Euro a day in low season ( or 3 Euro in high season I believe). Didn’t use the pool on the roof but it looked nice. Absolutely nothing to complain about here and would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel and location. Very attractive hotel and excellent customer service. We had a very nice room and also enjoyed the nice breeze on the rooftop terrace. Easy walk across to train station. We would stay again at Marina Rio.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in Lagos. The hotel is recently renovated and the rooms were really nice. There is a rooftop on the pool with two tanning decks (one on each side of the roof) and a bar in the lobby. One thing to note about the rooms- they primarily consist of twin beds, so we had two twin beds right next to each other (pushed together) rather than one large bed. However, the beds were incredibly comfortable and we slept really well. Rooms are also newly renovated so ours was nice. The rooms were a little bit smaller than expected but not so much that it made a difference. Balcony was beautiful and there was a safe and fridge in the room. When we checked out, we had several hours before our train and the front desk held our luggage. Overall we had a really beautiful and pleasant stay and would definitely come back.
