Brilliant Hotel, very relaxing and the service is impeccable.
Near neighborhood
Stay experience sucks. Went for buffet breakfast the guy at the entry was not polite at all, not well trained. Staff not really helpful
Definitely would stay again
Excellent hotel with most welcome and friendly staffs. Convenient location from transportation hubs and the airport.
Room's condition is somehow not that new.
Lost clothes in laundry…house keeping mentioned they had never seen it…bad experience
good service
good location. good service. good breakfast. The only issue is that it is too old. It is a 16 years old hotel.
Gym is clean with good view. Breakfast is delicious. Staff are friendly. Convenient to everywhere.
solid choice
This was a very affordable and convenient hotel. I had no major complaints. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean. The location is very convenient for the Olympic Park area of Beijing.
V good hotel, close to convention centre.
Great stay - slight musty smell to the room, although that may just be Beijing air. Friendly staff. Wish I had more time to enjoy the amenities.
Very clean. Staff was polite and very helpful and most of them could speak good English.
Good location. The breakfast is great with a lot of options.
Have to put a substantial deposit on the room as well as pay up front upon arrival. Good location for our needs. Close to public transport. Language barriers were a bit of an issue. Cup of coffee in the lounge is $16 AUD. Excellent pool facilities. The spa was not functioning at the time we were there. Very nice rooms. Not a great room cleaning service. Average experience.
Decent hotel for the price
The service was great, especially Maryna. Some of the other staff were not experienced so luckily she was there to make everything smooth. The property is slightly dated but functional.
After staying in some other hotels in another city in China, it was a relief to come back to the Marco Polo Beijing, even for 1 night. The staff is wonderful, congenial, and easy to communicate with. The hotel rooms are very nice with comfortable bedding and lots of space in the room. We had room for 4 large suitcases, 4 carry on bags, and us!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, convenient hotel to stay in!
very poor food quality. Room condition need updated.
The staff were excellent and the room was spacious with a great layout. The sliding bathroom door was not in good condition and came off the tracks.
Good biz hotel in Beijing
Marco Polo is an excellent business hotel. Very comfortable, top-notch service. Could use a refresh remodel, but still nice.
Good hotel in a great location.
nice hotel and great location but customer service was terrible
Marco Polo Parkside
Very conveniently placed hotel for the Olympic Park, access to the subway and with excellent restaurants just across the street.
Good services
Staffs are nice & good services. A lot of restaurants nearby. Room is a bit old but still acceptable. Difficult to use the TV
Nice hotel near Beijing 2008 Olympic Park, lots of restaurants around the hotel, nice place to relax and meet friends there!
Smoking hotel
The hotel lobby is nice and has a pleasing appearance. The rooms are clean but the main problem with this hotel for Americans is that people smoke in the rooms and that makes the whole floor smell. If you are unused to cigaret smoke it's hard to handle. The staff is polite but not English speaking so be prepared to order your own taxi if you have the right app on your phone. Recommend getting google translate also as that helps with communications. Hotel restaurant was OK with a good wine list and some pretty good buffet dinners. If you order a la carte you'll probably be disappointed.
Good hotel in good location.
Check-in can be further improved. Arrived early and tried to check-in but room was not ready, but this was not the Hotel's fault. Was told to come back 2 hours later which I did, but the room was still not ready. The chamber staff had gone on and cleaned other rooms first even though they were informed by receptionists that the customer is waiting. By the time I manage to check-in, it was already 3.5 hours later. This is not good for business travelers coming to Beijing on an overnight "red eye" flight. There were also no attempts to provide some kind of "free beverage or coffee" while you wait. While checking-in I was informed that all rooms are 'Non-smoking". When I got to my level, there were at least 3 rooms with guests puffing away with their doors wide open while cleaning was in progress. Food prices especially breakfast was expensive. Buffett breakfast rates are almost 30% of the room rates, at 30 pounds a pop. That's why the Cafe is almost always empty. Prices are similar to London or New York. Room was decently clean but sliding doors to the toilet were falling off its hinges, a complete safety hazard. This is 5-star wannabe hotel with 3-star service quality. Ordered room service one nite and had the room cleaned the next day, but they decided to leave the leftover food in the room until I came back in the evening. Had expected more from a Marco Polo. Kinda disappointed. There's a Maccas, Supermarket, Bakery across the street so it did make things a little easier.
Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet!
Stayed here for the last nights of our Sinorama Tour. The company uses this hotel because of its proximity for our Beijing sites. The breakfast buffets are worth getting up early for! By this point in our tour, many of us had the custom prepared bowl of noodles so we started having them for breakfast, we liked them that much! They also have English, American and Japanese style breakfasts, as well as continental so basically everyone is able to find something they like. A little chaotic in there, but that's very much a part of the Chinese culture. You aren't in Germany after all!
Lost laundry. Rude reception. Not willing to help the guest at all
Bad experience during breakfast
Bad service..the servers were more interested in their business rather than the customer's.
Basic hotel.
Very basic hotel, not worth the price but it seems BJ's hotels are all pricy. Not usual Maco polo standard, very local feeling.
Stay here most times I go to Beijing. Expensive but well located for my business. Room was getting tired and paintwork a bit dirty etc. Good rate booking through Hotels.com. Beware incidental's are expensive. But overall, will continue to use hotel.
It is close to several restaurants, however the front desk service is not as joyful as it supposes to be, I saw some staff were sitting there and play moblie, and front desk lady talking to you with no smile at all.
Mediocre hotel at 5 star prices
Rooms are ok but restaurant is dirty with poor quality food and service is terrible. Eat elsewhere at all costs.
Rather 4 than 5 stars, but nice location
The location of this hotel is great - lots of restaurants and life around it. The hotel is comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. Negatives: rooms are dirty, the food in the hotel is bad (breakfast, for example) at best, and the staff's proficieny in English is not where it ought to be. Though, they like to be helpful.
average experience and expensive
The hotel seems pretty new but teared down so fast. During my stay at the hotel, the lobby was pouring from the leaking ceiling whenever there were raining. The bathroom door was also keep felling down and made it very unsafe especially for little kids. The pool is pretty good and gym is excellent.
Suoer Overated
Room Bathroom was clogged for our entire stay of 8 Days. We called front desk they only sent us a plumber on the 4th day after several complaints. The same night we had the same exact problem. Staff was unhelpful and unfriendly. They will not do a currency exchange unless your money is 100 percent new with no folds or signs of sitting in your wallet. The hotel was the worst thing on our trip to Beijing. The free breakfast is only given to 1 person in your room. Even if there are 2 guests. Everything is overpriced. The hotel is sort of small. The rooms are very small. The hotel should be rated a 3.5 star. Definitely not a 5 Star.
Everything was good except internet service, network was very slow
Great Hotel in CBD, needs just a slight improvemen
great location but a bit far from subway entrance. I go for business and the hotel is perfect for its location and facilities.
Not feel good
The service is getting worse and worse. First, the check in process was very slow. Front desk is one of the most important parts of a hotel as the staff at front desk is the first person who interacts with clients, but the staff at front desk had not been trained properly, because she did not know the facilities and services the hotel provided. Additionally, she gave me a room for disabled clients, but I am not a disabled person, I don’t know what she is doing, if I continued to stay in this room, there would be no rooms for disabled clients, this made me felt so bad. I tried to call front desk but the staff at front desk could not speak English, so I had to go to the front desk and requested to change another room. The supervisor of front desk Jennifer apologized to me and intended to upgrade my room but I refused and asked for my standard room. If I accept the upgraded room, it means I accept their apologies and mistakes. I think upgrading rooms is for VIP and frequent clients and the clients on birthday. I don’t think that it is an issue on the staff named Manrida but the responsibility on management team.
Lousy experience with HOTELS.COM
The stay was not too bad as we had anticipated the first minute we stepped into the hotel. Though it was starred 4.5, we found the service was totally inadequate comparing to other 4-star hotels. The most annoying incident was we paid for a 3-night stay including breakfast for 2 persons, however, we were told the price only covered one breakfast. TRUST ME - IT WAS SO EMBARRASSED FOR US TWO being denied at the entrance of the cafe. We were asked to contact the front desk ourselves and left standing at the reception awkwardly instead of seating us in the cafe first and dealed with the case by the hotel staff. That was the first time we were ill-treated by a 4-star hotel and we felt extremely insulting. My companion showed them the confirmation from her mobile phone, nevertheless, they insisted that it was HOTELS.COM's fault, not their's. To sum up, both my friend and I will never use HOTELS.COM again nor will we choose to stay at the Marco Polo Hotel group. That was the first time we used HOTELS.COM and definitely would be the last time as well. At the same price range, we would have many other better choices to choose from. OUR MISFORTUNE!! (p.s. the hotel was very dusty)
Graet stay !
Fantastic hotel , great location, awesome staff!
Not great service and no air conditioning
No air conditioning in the room - hotel's excuse was "its cold outside" - room was stifling. Tried to put me in a smoking room even though requested non smoking weeks ago. Noise from street below.
Friendly staff very helpful, polite and thank you for speaking English so well. I needed that!
The hotel is very nice and the location is a short cab ride to the Beijing Conference Center. It is a bit far to most of the main tourist attractions though. My only other complaint is that the restaurant is quite overpriced.
Worst Hotel Ever
I was so disappointed with my 4 day stay here. The first room had such a bad sewer smell coming from the toilet that I had to be moved. They never even helped with the move, other than open the door to the next room. Nothing was provided for the inconvienence. After two nights in the next room, the toilet kept plugging. Again, I had to move rooms and no help.As well, internet was poor, TV channels sometimes "fluttered" and I had a package FEDEXed to this hotel and they refused to accept it which meant tracking it down in Beijing. I stay over 100 nights a year around the world and this was my worst experience ever. As well, very few people that work here speak English. Never again.
Marco Polo
This hotel is pretty good service. They have been doing their best as you can see. I chose this hotel because of its location to my business relations and my friends.I have been staying there each time when I come back to Beijing for last few years. I will stay there again next time.
very good, clean and close to expo
we were pretty happy with this hotel except not much thing to do around hotel. close to the exhibition and there is shuttle to there but no chance to use..
Room has smell, change another room is better but still smell not good (maybe come from carpet or toilet?). No air condition, and cannot adjust room temp. 29 degree in my room set by central! The waterproof of shower door is poor quality. Tried to be careful but after shower the floor still all wet. I will not stay in Marco Polo Beijing again. Disappointed
Nice amenities, but not as clean as expected
The overall experience was good, but the room cleanliness was less than desired when I first checked in. I'd stay there again, but with lowered expectations.
Rude Customer service
they charged me extra 100RMB per night when I got there. and also took too long to check in.
Great rooms
nothing to complain, really nice rooms, friendly and very attentive service
A repeat guest
I stay there because of the location for me. I feel is not as good as my last stay. Reasons: 1. Noise from outside during all night. Seems like construction. 2. Room smelled bad as mold. Hall way once smelled like rotten eggs on Executive floor. 3. No hot water for a day. 4. No heat in the room. It's not yet time of the year for supplying heat.
It Was a Pleasure
I was in town on business and had planned to stay at another hotel. Stopped by that hotel and found that they'd made a mistake on my reservation. After watching their complete disorganization I said "No, problem" and sat down to look up other hotels. The Marco Polo came up as highly-rated. Switched hotels and was THRILLED at the quality and service at the site. What a relief!
travel for conference
excellent location for CNCC
nice hotel compared with price
nice hotel compared with price however the room smelled a bit and no wifi at the room, only ethernet cable.
I really liked the layout of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. Very good gym and pool. Good buffet lunch. The location is close to the Olympic stadium and bird's nest, which means that it takes about 45-60 minutes to get to business appointments downtown. There is little of interest in the local area as far as restaurants, except for a McDonald's, Papa John's pizza place and a supermarket across the street. I wouldn't recommend thos hotel to tourists visiting Beijing for the first time. It's too far away from the business and entertainment areas. However, I will stay there again as a regular business traveler to Beijing when the offer price is right.
GREAT BEIJIN
Just, the best service and the best bed
Good Hotel
From the beginning of my stay, Marco Polo was awesome. It is a 5-star hotel in Beijing that has often sales and discounts with hotels.com which really pushed me towards staying with this hotel (price is very important for me). But there is more. It had a great room with a huge washroom, bathtub and shower and a function to listen to the TV while in the washroom. It is a pretty far walk from the subway though which was a disappointing but we figured the taxi from the subway to the hotel is very cheap. The only real criticism I have about this hotel is that they provide complimentary movies, including English movies, but no option to choose language. It was all dubbed in Mandarin so I could not take advantage of this function. Nevertheless, this hotel had HBO channel which played nonstop movies without commercials which I really enjoyed. All in all, I enjoyed my first stay in the Marco Polo brand and will definitely go back.
Free parking is good
Average one, nothing good but free parking
Not so Good Hotel
I stayed here for what ended up being 3 nights even though I left before the third night... I tried to have a late checkout on my second day and they said, we could charge you half price to have as late of a checkout as you want. I agreed but the supervisor came back and said sorry, you will have to pay for a full night. The shower wasn't working as well as it should. The room was huge. No wireless on my floor. Just Cable internet.... Overall, I wouldn't stay here again.
Good hotel
it was nice and I would come back next time if I have a chance!
Excellent Nth Beijing Hotel
Hotel services couldn't be faulted. Location is close to Olympic Sites, if they are of interest, and good access to airport.
Very good
Everything is perfect
Relaxing getaway
My experience was ALMOST perfect except for one issue. The wifi was very unstable which forced me to use my laptop at the desk with the ethernet cord. If you're not overly concerned with that then you will have an excellent stay in this hotel. It's pretty far from the center of everything in Beijing but taxis aren't difficult to find and the metro station is about a 10min walk away.
Great value in Beijing
Great hotel with a very helpful staff. The concierge team was very efficient with my requests. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient hotel, this is a nice option. Overall it's a good value for money. I will definitely come back.
Exploring Beijing with Marco Polo
The hotel lives up to its four-star rating, with comfortable large well-appointed rooms, excellent food, a nice pool and spa, and very supportive staff.
A proper 5 star hotel
Marco Polo Parkside Beijing is a very good hotel. Everything about the hotel is of 5 star quality. Rooms are clean, modern, full furnished. Bed is comfortable. No issues with smoke smell or noises from construction outside. Breakfast has a good selection of both Asian and Western foods. If you need to stay in the Northern part of the city, then this is a good choice. Location is the only minor issue I have. Hotel is located between the 4th and 5th ring of Beijing. Subway is not located very close by, you will have to walk one city block. DatunLu East station is the closest stop which is one block east of the hotel. Other than location, the Marco Polo Parkside Beijing is a very good hotel with outstanding value.
Excellent hotel. I would go back any time
The best experience I have had. We had a wonderfull time. Excelent and clean hotel
Great Fitness Facility
I selected this hotel due to the fitness center and pool. Both of those were first class facilities. My only criticism was that breakfast was not included with the room and was over 150 RNB / $25. I would recommend this hotel.
The best chain in the world.
I've been to hundreds of hotels but Marco is always a HOME wherever I go
great hotel, a little remote
Stayed at the Marco Polo Parkside in Aug 2011. Very comfortable, spacious room, good gym and pool. Not expensive for such a nice hotel. Half of the front desk staff and concierge speaks decent English - i never had a problem being understood speaking to hem in English. If the breakfast buffet is not included in your rate, it's very expensive, and unnecessary because there is a bakery and a grocery store right across the street. The lunch buffet at the Japanese restaurant downstairs was a good choice. A famous old restaurant specializing in Peking Duck is also right across the street. It was a good location for me because it was relatively close to where I had to be for business most days (~15 RMB taxi), but there's not much to see in the blocks immediately around the hotel. The Olympic park and Bird's Nest is 20 min walk away, a subway line is 15 minutes in the other direction. Also not too far from the airport (around 70 RMB for the taxi - beware the "flat rates" that they will quote you at the airport of up to 300).
Beautiful Bejing
We paid 50% more or this stay than in April The hotel was only 20% full I feel we paid way too much and will have to look elsewhere for a good deal on hotel.
Good hotel for the price
Breakfast buffet has plenty of Asian and Western options. Food is ok. There is a supermarket crossing the street. Metro station is a good 15 - 20 minute walk. The hotel is far from Beijing center but you can get there by metro. All in all, the hotel is a good (not great) alternative for the price.
Above average in China
Overall I'm satisfied although many Chinese hotel guests were often loud & smoked in non-smoking floors.
excellent
The staff was incredibly helpful, and I enjoyed my two weeks. Rooms are truly beautiful. 24 hour McDonalds across the street has good coffee -- hotel's is even better. Location kind of out of the way.
Great Hotel
Though this hotel is not near the popular tourist area, it is about 10-15 mins away from the subway. My stay included the breakfast which was pretty good (not great). The hotel is extremely nice and the room is clean, and modern with comfortable beds and the internet in the rooms are free (which is always a plus for me). The staff was friendly and the bird's nest isn't far away either. They also offer tours that you can sign up of in the downstairs lobby. I really didn't take the taxi that much, and used the subway to go every. You may need the taxi if you decide to do alot of shopping and don't want to drag bags through the subway. All and all, I thought this was a great choice for me and I highly recommend it.
Great Home away from Home
I've stayed here four times in the last three months - same first class service every time.
very nice hotel front desk was very helpful
i was at this hotel from the end of september till october 5th . i like it very much ,staff was very friendly and helpful in any way the could . i recommend it very much and hope to visit the marco polo again soon . room service is excellent and so was the laundry service.
great value
well located, a very nice hotel
Excellent service
The rooms were great, really spacious and comfortable. There is a Mcdonalds right across the street which is open 24 hours. Although it is located a bit far from the major tourist attractions, I would recommend it because of its service. The staff were very courteous and helped us a lot in getting around.
Great Beijing Hotel - Marco Polo
A five star hotel at a three star price. Upgrade to the 15th floor, you get free breakfast, and computer in your room. the upgrade is well worth the extra price. The staff was extra helpful and most spoke enough English to answer any question you might have.
Marco Polo Parkside Beijing
I would definitely stay here again.
convience location for the price
Very nice hotel and convience location. stayed 4 nights there. very satisfly with the hotel service. definitly will book this hotel in the future.
good value
good hotel for the money.Problems with heating system.
Great Hotel
So far this is a great hotel. Service is great. The room is very nice. The breakfast buffet is incredible, so much selection. There was so much food to choose from, they had american and chinese food and like 5 differrent cooks to make us what ever we wanted. The pool and the fitness center are excellent. The staff here is very helpfull. Their English is not the best but they try very hard to make sure that you are satisfide with everything. Excellent concierge, very helpfull. We tried the chinese restaurant and the food was good and the service was great. If it wasn't for my wife speaking chinese I would had never been able to communicate as to what I wanted, but once you get thru that the food is very good. One thing I look for in a hotel is cleanliness and this hotel is very clean and we felt very safe. We would deffenetly stay here again.
nice hotel
very good.
I like the deluxe room, but it was quite pricey. The room is not as modern as 5-star hotels with slightly higher price.

Great Location. Value for the money

Greit forretningshotell i Beijing
Standard business-hotell som ikke skiller seg spesielt ut. Internett fungerte bra. Frokost for enhver smak.

Poor aircon
On a 27C day in March, there was no air con – the hotel was just ventilating 26C air. In the end it was possible to open the window at night, but still too hot. The next day one was cooler and an open window did the trick. In a room facing away from the main road the noise was bearable. Otherwise the hotel is friendly and accommodating, within a 5 minute walk from a metro stop and within walking distance to many good restaurants.
