It was very pleasant, some noise from the nearby bar, but that didn’t bother us at all, it may others. We had a lovely stay.
Great location Friendly staff Everything nearby
Good space with sea view. Clean and convenient for the town. Nice spa tub.
Close to all restaurants and shops
Convenient, central to what we wanted the only draw back the reception area was not staffed, so if you wanted information about tours etc there was no one to ask and no direction on how to contact anyone for assistance more information on how to contact staff in Port Douglas would be helpful other wise a pleasant stay.
Great position and room.
The rooms were not cleaned, door was locked at very random times, stained old couches. It was awful!
Great location.
The mould smell in the room was so bad that it kept me awake. This was absolutely terrible. There was no-one on reception or on site as we were guided by a notice to go to another property. There was less than half a toilet roll with no spare for our 2 night stay. Horrible experience for such a nice town. Would not recommend to anyone
Next door & across the road from pubs with live music till 11.00pm then noisy people yelling when pub shut after midnight
Had to change rooms after 2 days, as the room directly below us was being renovated & the kack-hammers were unbearable. Then on the second last day we had no hot water, fortunately it was in a heat wave, so a cold shower was actually welcome
Nice little contained unit for a getaway. Close to good food and drink. Close to the shop. Check-in was seamless and checkout much same.
Just beautiful, great clean rooms, excellent service and very friendly
No free Wi-Fi connection you shouldn't have to pay for this service these days
There were no staff at this property. Room was mostly clean. It was very quiet. I think it was overpriced for what it was, but because it was in PD you have to pay a higher price
Absolutely garbage hotel, worst servuce amenities
Service is non existant. Ive had better service at an Air BnB! Pick up up a busted phone at the front door with no staff. Called three times to hear instructions to get keys out of a safe with ten other peoples keys. The goods lift didnt work from the basement so we had to drag our luggage up four flights of stairs. The rom was i e, but the floor was absolutely filthy. Our feet were black after walking on the timber floors for 5 minutes. After we settled in, a staff member saw us leaving out the front door and asked if everything was OK? We told him about the xramas and he shrugged his shoulders and siad that they dint have a lot of staff and the goods lift is always playing up. Serci e here is literally non existent. The noise from the three bars, live music and people yelling out, downstairs in the street kept us awake till 2am. Do not expect a good sleep here.
loved staying here! It was great! The only critisism would be there is no housekeeping and after 6 nights, a room was in need of a makeover haha. Aside from that, the best!
Bathroom floor dirty..dark hair on floor (we are blond and grey) big old crack in wash basin ...cain chair worn out bad on back. Should have two good chairs in room as one person has to sit on bed.. outside airconditioning very loud so you cannot open window.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Mantra on the inlet is perfectly located in the heart of Port Douglas, close to shops and dining options, being so close to the nightlife means that it’s noisy at night. Travellers should note this property an unserviced hotel - no fresh towels or even an extra roll out toilet paper. No one at reception most of the time. Wifi internet was meant to be available with sign up to the loyalty program, and available free with room. Neither of those options worked. Black mould in the bathroom is a health issue, definitely not something I expected. The telephone in the room didn’t work. This would have been a major issue an emergency. There wasn’t a hair dryer, or really any normal amenities in the bathroom other than soap and hair products. One TV wasn’t plugged in to antenna, I stood on a chair to fix, the other had to be turned off by pulling the power cable, which was a bit strange. There was no effective way to get rid of garbage or recycling, I left mine outside the room to remove the smell.
Great location right at the shops. Nice balcony- looked out to the restaurant so everyone could see into our apartment. The space bath was dirty and un-useable. Bed was like sleeping on a floating paddle board! The 2 singles pushed together kept parting over night and there were no be coasters to stop this. The staff were however reciprocal to our feedback (when you could find them).
The fellow at the reception desk was really helpful during check-in and if we needed advice on the area. The only thing we would have liked is a couple of chairs in the room. The only place to sit was the bed.
Location Location Location
Location is what this hotel has got going for it. It is in the main street of Port Douglas. That means it is noisy at certain stages. There is no lift in this hotel but they do have a luggage lift.
Reception staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. Really need to get the baggage elevator working though considering there is no elevator for guests and a lot of stairs!
Great location. Love balcony. Couldnt find a rubbish bin in the kitchen
Disappointing stay
Overall disappointing. No staff at checkin. Baggage lift is broken and no signage. After calling the reception they said they know it is broken and don’t know when parts will arrive. Doors of random rooms stayed open during the stay. Overall seems poorly managed
Getting very tired & in need of refurbishment
This place does not have an elevator, which is OK, we knew that, but the luggage lift was out of service & we had to carry bags & eskies up two floors. The floors were not clean & the timberwork (all the louvre doors etc) were in need of a good sand & varnish. All the ceiling fans only operated at one speed, & not a very good one at that.
No lifts
The location was the main thing that drew us here. It was perfect for 1 night but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer as the rooms are quiet small. Very pricey for what it is! Beds were okay, wasn’t a fan of the pillows but the shower head was amazing!! Overall it was good enough for what we wanted for our stay.
The beds are the worst ever , hard as a rock. No lifts and the baggage lift is broken looks like for a long time .
It is very close to all the shops , baggage elevator not working was bad , nearly killed me dragging all the luggage upstairs
Great hotel, basic service.
Check in was poor. Had to cart our luggage up 3 flights of stairs as the lift was not working. No one downstairs when we checked out in the morning. I expect more from Mantra.
great location
Good central location however rooms are becoming dated, would benefit from updated furniture
Great for social getaways
Nice and close to shops and dining - not suitable for children - excellent for adults out to see and taste the township - close to water and nice scenery
Great location but pool very small. Wifi was horrible but apart from that all pretty good.
Great stay! Loved the location!
Suite was modern and spacious Stairs were very hot
Good location. bit noisy.
Mantra Inlet one to visit
Well placed in Port Douglas. Apartment was well laid out and furnished well for our needs. Cleanliness and presentation was great for a Mantra.
That it close to everything and the room was spacious
The apartment was a good size and right in the middle of many restaurants, bars and shops. Being in the middle of everything meant it could get noisy at times. The apartment was clean but the floors were scratched which made it a bit tired. We will definitely come back again and would recommend this property to friends.
Great Spot.
Great spot, able to walk everywhere.
I was travelling alone and although the room was small, it was ideal for my needs. Room was clean and had a comfortable bed and a quiet air conditioner. I had a very comfortable restful stay.
Loved the bed - so darn comfy! Lovely decor and well appointed.
Location was ideal. Rooms bigger than I expected. Staff where almost never at reception & only had 1 toilet paper roll in the room so that was annoying. But overall good stay, would stay again.
Good location. Room was cramped. Bathroom mouldy. Free parking.
Location, location, location!!! A lovely 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of town. We will be back!
better know your partner intimately !
The room was good ,very large open plan ,downside being toilet was only a meter and a bit from bed through opening, good location ,central ....trouble was a gym had opened in ground floor section of building and her classes started at 5.30 am !! Lots of thumping and jumping noise. We did go and see reception in other Mantra bldg and they said they would remedy her opening hrs . Didnt work. We went and saw them another couple of times and they said she shouldn`t be doing classes at that hour ,but , nothing changed . They were probably desperate to fill another shop for rent .Lots of empty shops in town !
Alot of things didn't work! Had a spa room and the spa jet/bubbles didnt work. Just made a humming sound at random times including at night. Clothes dryer kept tripping. Air con remote didnt work.
We had a 2 bedroom suite. It was really nice. Staff were really helpful. One of the best I’ve stayed in and I’ve travelled a lot.
Staff was not on site but when we spoke with them they were polite and friendly
Great value and excellent location
Really good stay with my wife at the Mantra. Perfect location, nice room (little small), and lovely lady at the front desk. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we're in Port Douglas.
Gorgeous room, very convenient location. A bit noisy if staying for a while but was perfect for a few days. The pub noise would get to me after a while if I stayed longer.
It was nice but no facilities for handicap people, a lot of stairs which is not good for people with disabilities, plus paid a deposit for second key and still not refunded why do you need to pay a deposit for second key?
Perfect location
Loved the stay, 4 boys on a golf trip. Used the pool after golf. Wake up and open the doors of the room into the view of Main Street. Loved the location, very close to our favourite drinking and betting venue.
Admin awful. Accommodation lovely.
They advertise free internet, but it was a major hassle for us. You have to join their club which has a series of hoops attached - including verification by staff. The catch is that the front desk isn’t manned a lot of the time. So we had to negotiate and get codes by phone. Twice we were given wrong codes - meaning we spent hours trying to sort out nonsense that had been advertised as ‘free.’ The receptionist on the phone provided incorrect information and made promises she didn’t keep. The receptionist on the ground the next day was unempowered to do much. She was a trainee and seemed overworked and stressed. This aspect of our stay was truly irritating. On the other hand the apartment was lovely.
Reasons not to stay at Mantra on the Inlet 1. Rooms only serviced once a week – all the inconvenience of an apartment with none of the benefits eg cooking. 2. Front desk is almost never attended – staff are usually at the other Mantra down the street so requests for anything take two days. Eg an extra blanket/we were given the wrong room etc 3. Corridors run along the outside of the rooms so there is no privacy at all if you open your window blinds 4. Hotel rooms allegedly have smoke sensors connected directly to the fire brigade so you are threatened with a $1,200 fine if you create any smoke – Toasters are banned so the most you can do in the room for breakfast is make tea or coffee. No microwave. Also threat of thousand dollar fines if you leave your key in the room at night and get locked out. 5. There’s a luggage lift which is better than nothing, but no people lift, so if you’re two stories up it gets a drag running up and down four flight of stairs. Good exercise I suppose
Well located queenslander style suites
Located just off Macrossan street Andy close to the harbour, the apartments are spacious and well kept. It can be lively until 12pm on weekend nights in the front of the suite as the bars can be heard. Those wanting a quiet night may wish to take the pool facing rooms.
Staff not friendly. No one at the front desk to serve. Loud music some night from the street bars.
In the Main Street near to shops, restaurants & pubs. Reception only manned from 10 to 4, could be longer. Comfortable & adequate for my needs.
The apartments are spacious and clean. The beds are comfy and some rooms have a spa bath. The pool area was clean and sheltered from the sun. There are no lifts, so bare this in mind if you have mobilty issues. Also, the apartments are right next to a lively bar, so a bit of noise of the weekends.
Great accommodation in the centre of Port Douglas.
There is no service at all, when I called 4.30pm on a Friday to get the keys, I told that there were no room options to choose from “as it was so late booking in”. No reception was available and when I called later that afternoon to ask about the terrible tv reception I received worse service from the off duty manager saying she was not able to help. Great location, terrible terrible service.
Fabulous location for a wedding we attended
My partner and I love staying here at the mantra on the inlet in Port Douglas, upon check in were greeted with a lovely coffee machine for that we'll needed pick-me-up, quiet and secure rooms that never fail to provide a comfortable and wholesome sleep...we will be staying again.
The aircon dropped on the bed so we had to turn it off, it was set at 23 as per the instructions
It was offseason, no front desk person available at 4:00. Room was timely but value is good.
Great location, lovely room
no lift, the baggage lift was not working. Would have been nice to have cold water in the fridge.
In the middle of the action
The apartment was nice. Staff were hard to find though.
No laundry facilities as advertised, no lifts, overall didn't meet expectations
Pleasant fun stay
We had fun. Enjoyed local shops and Sunday market. Liked the two close restaurants, Salsa and on the Inlet. Parking easy, luggage elevator helps because without that stairs would be difficult.
Zero staff onsite to check in for 3 days They lie about hours they work. TV keeps displaying subtitles in middle of screen.
Great location
This is in a great location and the room was spotless however the room was to small if you wanted to watch TV without lying on the bed
The place was very hard to find. We ended up at one of the other Mantras. With their instructions it was still very hard to find. The undercover parking is not very secure as its open and beside a pub. The parking garage smelt due to the over-flowing garbage skips they have. There is no lift, except for a baggage lift that was greasy and not working. Being on the top floor meant a lot of climbing stairs with suitcases. Their was no hotel staff when we arrived, whenever we left to go out or when we checked-out. The positives to this stay was that it is close to restaurants and the pool area is clean and pleasant.
Value
Good value
Great place to stay
We really enjoyed staying at Mantra on the Inlet, fantastic location great views, we had the west side view so beautiful to look over the park and sea, the room was very comfortable, clean and tidy and made our stay very easy in walking distance to everything. We'd definitely stay here again.
Great location in the heart of town, walking distance of the major attractions Market, Marina, Shops, 4 mile beach and bars. Underground secure parking included in the booking. Nice swimming pool area at the back surrounded by palm trees gives that tropical vibe. We had a spa suite and it was very spacious and well equipped dish washer, microwave, large fridge freezer, washer/dryer coffee machine all the things you need for a home from home.
Great value for money. Only downside was that our hot water didn't work... however not a massive deal breaker in FNQ!
Hot water would have been nice
Only expecting the basics, but had thought hit water was included amongst basics. Zero hot water at night time when we checked in, and barely lukewarm in the morning.
great hotel, Room was well presented neat and tidy. Only downfall we had was so many stairs and the bag lift was broken. Otherwise perfect walking distance to everything!
Hard to find staff
We arrived late (flight delay) took a bit to find the door where there was a note on the front desk advising where to go if not attended which was the other end of the block (almost), called the number on the way and they advised us to go back and open the safe situated just a little bit from he front door (long day and didn't see it). Got key and found we had to go up stairs then down stairs then more stairs, there was a luggage lift but would still have had to take bags up or down stairs. Room as pictured, good quality but not much space, if you open the window there are no screens and it is on the walkway to other rooms, not terribly private, I would suggest paying the extra for another room style if you like the location, views of other buildings roofs, only time we saw staff was when we went to the other hotel to get some towels for the pool! About 20 tea bags and 20 coffee sachets and 8 sugars, small milk for a 3 night stay luckily Coles was closer than the other hotel where the reception was. Only time we saw staff was in the other hotel, not quite a secure as suggested, needed key to get out into carpark which was accessible from the street, but could open door from carpark to get into building with no key!
Central location
Check in was via phone and security box. Lay out is a bit complicated. Extremely hot (even for the tropics) in the hall areas where the surrounding commercial areas air cons blow out heat. Rooms small but sufficient with all that is required for a short stay. Pool /BBQ area small but clean, tropical and very relaxing. Location is central to shops, restaurants and pubs but quiet enough at night with rear room. Beach is the opposite end of Macrossan Street but is an easy, pleasant walk. Downside was house keeping banging on the door from 9:30am despite check out being 10am.
Good location and friendly staff. Downside housekeeping once per 8 days.
Nice old hotel right in the centre of town
Beautiful old hotel building right in the centre of town, the pool was small but actually really nice and relaxing (great setting of palms and tropical plants and nice and shady) as there wasn’t many kids and the one hanging out by the pool was very nice, good place for adults who want to stay right in the heart of town. The rooms are a little dated as they have been modernised, and the bathroom could have been cleaner, also there was some background noise at night from nearby hotel but it didnt keep us awake. I would recommend to friends as a well priced fun hotel.
Nice hotel. Close to a function we had to attend.
Only stayed one night. We live only 50 kms from Port Douglas & had a Xmas function to attend & did not want to drive home. Very close to were we needed to be. Very nice hotel & we enjoyed the pool.
The location of the hotel is fantastic. The noise from abject venues that was noted in other reviews was not really an issue. All was quiet at a respectable hour. The fact that there is no staff visible on site to address issues with is a negative. We requested a key for the in room safe as we were going to the reef and didn't want to take our valuables with us. We were advised a key would be delivered the next morning at 8.30 giving us plenty of time to get to the boat...the key did not appear. It was there in the afternoon when we returned, but was the key for the safe in the next room. There was an alarm constantly buzzing in the main reception area; I tried to ring the designated number to advise the staff, but got no answer. When it was time to depart the baggage lift was not working but there was no one around to report this to.
Very easy and enjoyable stay. Right in the middle of all the action to enjoy the live music and atmosphere but the room was still nice and quiet with the doors closed at night. We will definitely stay again.
Dissapointing.
Too much light through the non private shutters, bed rolled around, unmanned reception, limited tv, and no ice or water jug avaiable. Where was the value in this expensive stay? Didn't sleep so will not trust Mantra again.
Location great although hard to find.
Reception didn't inform us ref towels for swimming pool & room safe key. Lots of stairs although luggage only lift available. Spa in pool not working.
Expencive room
Tiny room and tiny TV for a big price per night. Pool was ok.
Hotel close to the Inlet
Sadly the room was not really clean - very dusty around the air conditioner, hair still on the bathroom floor. and alot of marks on the walls. This room was the smallest one we had out of all the Mantra Hotels that we stayed in.
Very good location, very convenient
A very good hotel to stay for a short time. Not recommended for families who wants a resort-type accommodation...very convenient if you just want to be right in the middle of the town centre.
Great weekend away
We had a great stay at Mantra on the Inlet. It was right in the heart of the town. The room was comfortable, the balcony was huge, the spa bath was so relaxing. We didn't see any staff during our stay but I had two phone conversations with a staff member and they were great to talk to. Everything was prefect
Close to the action
Great place to stay with kitchen and laundry in the apartment. Spa in the bathroom and separate shower. loved the open style. No flies or mozzies. Weather beautiful. So close to the pubs and live music and shopping area. The pool was a bit cold. We were able to do some day trips and still enjoy Port Douglas.
Great location too bad about the noise
On arrival we were very delighted with the room, spacious, all the facilities we needed, wrap around verandah, spa etc. The hotel convenience right in town, unfortunately surrounded by hotels, we had 3 nights booked, all 3 sleepless nights due to overwhelming noise and music from the hotels. Think twice before booking Mantra on the Inlet, Port Douglas. R and P Brisbane
Location , Location!
The hotel is well placed and close to everything. We had a fantastic room overlooking the water (some of the other options didn't have any views).
Convenient location, pretty average for everything
Size of the room suite was great and bed was really comfy although, luggage lift didn't work so with two kids by myself and the car three levels down wasn't ideal Never anyone around at reception Only itially supplied 2 of 3 bath towels and no stripey pool towels I just thought it was particularly unorganised in comparison to other places visited. Pop around to used the facilities at the other mantras in the area with bigger pool areas over the three days and staff were present and places looked more tended to Would think twice about booking her again and opt for a bigger place further out of town if hiring a car
Great location,
