A great place to stat

A gem of a find. The chalets are gorgeous. Beautifully appointed with lovely bathroom products, the towels are divine and the king sized bed was incredibly comfortable. The hosts are very warm and welcoming and the kitchen is sensational. We loved it here. You can either cook in the kitchen or a short walk to a vast array of foody options

Nice and private Owner was not accomodating - we requested a rollaway bed as advertised - she refused then finally gave in after 20 minutes after having to ring her husband we payed $200 cash only to find out Expedia had already taken out the $140 as booked - I requested the money back - she reluctantly gave me $140 so effectively the child’s rollaway bed cost us $60 extra and we had to make it ourselves - very disappointing behaviour from the owner after knowing we were attending the local communities wife’s funeral

The property was unique in the way that we felt completely relaxed and comfortable there. The new owners were onsite and very helpful. We even had a choice of pillows. The kitchen pavilion and is for guests to use. It was clean, well equipped and had a lovely area to sit. The chalets are very private set in lovely gardens. Huge king bed, good facilities, everything we needed. We’re fussy people, very happy chappies!

A wonderful relaxing stay. Beautiful bed linen and excellent hosts. The shared kitchen area was ideal. And being New Zealand, of course we met someone who knew someone etc!

Absolutely fantastic! This was our first stay on a two month adventure around New Zealand and I definitely want to come back. Linda, our hostess, is a joy-filled soul and she made us feel more than welcomed. The chalet is in a picturesque location. Exceptionally clean, fast wifi, very big king bed, crisp white sheets, mini fridge in the room with cold bottle of water. I loved the little private outdoor garden/dining area right off of the room - very romantic. The beach kitchen is ideal - everything you need to make a meal or simply sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. The chalets are surrounded by wild rosemary, lavender, fruit trees - stunning. Easy 2 minute walk to local grocery store and restaurants (Mean Burger food truck makes the best burger!). And Linda is always around to help you. We are from NYC and I would make the long trip back to New Zealand simply to stay here again!

The mangawhai chalets is awesome. The hosts are verry warm and welcoming and are genuinely verry nice people. The location is verry convenient to shops and supermarket. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

A lovely jewel for 1 or several nights stay

Everything was great, the only caveat would be no air conditioning. Had we been there on a hot evening it would have been an issue. A ceiling fan would have made a big difference. It's possible, having just arrived from Canada, where the temperature was -15C, this might have affected our "heat tolerance". Having an outside kitchen, with BBQ and full sized cook top, made making a home cooked meal oh so possible. When traveling and wanting to avoid eating in restaurants every night, this to us is a big deal. The hosts are so friendly, and made you feel right at home Thanks so much.

The chalets were cute and comfortable, had everything you needed for an overnight stay. The hosts (and their dog) were so friendly and welcoming. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Very quiet and peaceful, the host Lindy was very welcoming, caring and a lovely sense of humour. Obviously loved having people stay at their chalets.

Charming room with comfy bed. Private bathroom shower head required repair. Very friendy & welcoming owners.

Linda and Stewart are amazing hosts and the chalets and dining area are so inviting, I stay with them as much as I possibly can.

Beautiful boutique chalets in a handy location, walking distance from the Mangawhai Heads village. Lovely hosts with little personal touches in the rooms. Huge bed!

The property has its own very unique styling, very relaxed atmosphere and the owners are on site and very nice.

Lindy is the loveliest Host and always welcoming.

It was well located for the village shops and restaurants. Accommodation was very comfortable.

great place to stay

Property was comfortable with what I wanted. A major issue with a group of extremely noisy guests who kept me awake for half the night. I had to address at 12.30am to ask for some queit. Prior to that I had informed the Manager who did nothing.

From the very start the entire stay was awesome, Lindy and Stu are wonderful hosts and the Chalets are so comfortable,beds are huge, location is superb so close to shops and Restaurants.

Loved that this place was pet friendly and we could bring our dog with us. Great location, excellent hosts. We will be back

Great self catering chalets, well looked after.

This was a wonderful find, 3 lovely chalets with nice gardens and a community kitchen to use. We had 4 adults staying and it was very comfortable. Easy walk into town, 2 mins away.

This accommodation well exceeded our expectations. The photos don’t do this gem any justice! Linda and Stu were amazing hosts, great welcoming service. The room itself was STUNNING. Amazing character and feel. 100000% recommend. We will definitely be back. Very close to shops too!

we did enjoy the chalets We thought the idea of self contained vg but rather cold going to cook toast next door at 9 degrees rather a hoot!!!

"Living The Dream"

Our chalet was very clean and comfortable, decor was up to date and there was a private courtyard. The owner/hostess (and Bailey) greeted us immediately and was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Your room is a stand alone bungalow minutes walk from the beach. Hosts Lindy and Stu are delightful and full of local knowledge.

Very nice stay. Great location. Easy walk to restaurants and short drive to surf beach. Very clean with comfortable beds. A large outdoor, share kitchen was a great convenience. Really nice host. Reccomend.
