Paradise
Didn’t want to leave! If you can, give yourself a day to just relax at this beautiful paradise.
Amazing location at the river’s edge next to the ocean!
Fantastic stay! Five star service.
This lovely boutique hotel has excellent service. 5 star service. They go out of their way to make you comfortable, small things like filling your water bottle, and when you go to take a sip realize that she even put ice in it:). They will arrange transportation fo you…worth it!! The kitchen is wonderful, they will help with any diets, in our case Vegan. It is mostly open air everywhere, but we found the temperatures quite comfortable with the ocean breezes and fans. There is an AC in your room which does cool things down if you need ti. There is WIFI all over the property.. fairly stable. The only downside is the musty smell from natural humidity. It is ON the beach and the lagoon and it often rains in the afternoon/evening:) We enjoyed walking way down the beach in both directions. Spring for the ocean view. Or corner room!
I was not given the room with a queen bed as was shown and requested in my reservation. There are screens on the back windows and doors, but no glass. There are no screens preventing misquotes from entering the room on the front doors.
The place is amazing, but we got there excited to spend time on the pool - and the pool was so dirty and impossible to be used- I was very upset about that . Pls take in consideration you cannot bathe on the river and cannot bathe in the ocean - and now - you have no pool as well! We payed to stay in the suite because of the pool and we couldn’t use it . And all they did was to say - I am sorry. I mean , very disappointed. Besides that, the place , the food and the people were incredible.
Everything cas absolutely perfect
Wow what an amazing location. From here you can experience Tayrona without the need to go into the park the way the majority of tourists do. Amazing beach (not very swimmable because of waves). Great views of the mountains and the river. 5 stars for scenery and location. The downside was I booked a "Deluxe Cabin" which was not a cabana as I expected it to be, but a room next to the kitchen where they start using blenders at 5am. I immediately told the staff that we were expecting a cabin/cabana which they told me "you don't want a cabana, the ocean is too loud there." The cabanas are clearly superior to the rooms advertised as a "cabin" and they were dishonest in their handling of the situation. The food at Maloka was very heavy and rich- not what you want to eat at the beach. I recommend eating at Casa Tayrona next door, their food is much better. Like many businesses in Colombia they are using QR codes for menus and prefer that you use your phone to order instead of directly with the waitresses. The app is frustrating and I don’t like to have my phone with me while I enjoy the beautiful environment. I hope they abandon this silly process. I would recommend this place to everybody, but the service and food deserved some criticism.
Everything was amazing, the wifi could be stronger but the experience, the staff all amazing.
The place is amazing i had an amazing experience but the best part is the staff they really go out of their way to make u feel welcome specifically Lidia she was amazing definitely im coming back
A nice getaway close to Parque Tayrona
My stay was amazing. The food and service is top notch.
Atencion bien, poca disponibilidad d pescado, menú restringido
Excellent stay - would highly recommend to anyone for few days of enjoying scenery and beach ——-
Rooms are not sealed against elements. There are Screens on windows but gaps under the window frames. They call themselves eco friendly but honestly I think it is just so that they can get away without upgrading it and to save on heating water. There is nothing eco about using Raid to get rid of insects or to have Glade auto-fresheners in the rooms. The sheets are cheap poly-blend. I have stayed at several eco friendly resorts all around the world and this failed miserably.
This may be my partner and my favorite hotel ever. The view, the food, the rooms, the two beaches both interesting unique and relaxing. We will be back!
The atmosphere is very relaxing. The people are extremely friendly. The location is stunningly beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel for any couples traveling together. Very tranquil and relaxing.
Amazing place to interact with other travelers, spectacular views. Great to disconnect amod nature !
Beautiful property, lovely staff, and location. Would highly recommend to family and friends.
Highlight of our trip
Fantastic place, absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend. Amazing setting. Lovely beach, tranquil pool. Lovely food and staff amazing.
This is an a beautiful property overlooking the Caribbean For the traveler who does not mind roughing it a bit, the reward is a most peaceful, tranquil setting where nature is ever present.
20 on a scale of 10
This is genuinely the best place we have ever stayed in. View: amazing. Staff: lovely. Food: the best. Clean: yes.
Relaxing place in a secluded location surrounded by nature. Expect quietness and discret staff! The food is making the stay even more memorable.
Incredible design, food, views. Highlight of our trip in terms of accommodations.
This is truly the best place to stay-in in Colombia. It's everything people say. Beautiful location that takes your breath away, tranquil, relaxing, so stunning! The rooms were great. The sunsets: spectacular. The food was absolutely outstanding. We toured all over the Caribbean, and this is by far my new favorite place to stay. Nearby Tyrona is not to be missed.
Stunning!
The most amazing place I have ever stayed.
Amazing retreat in the middle of nature
We loved our stay. We just wanted to relax and slow down from the city life and this was the perfect place. Our cabin was beautiful and comfortable and the sound of the waves and the wind were very relaxing. We really enjoyed the common dinning room where you sit with all the other guests and share experiences, we met very interesting and nice people from all over the world, while having our delicious meals. Everything there is to do invites you to connect back with nature, the trail throught the woods to get to the beach, the loud chirping of all kinds of birds, the crushing waves right next to the calm river... its amazing. Our only comment would be that it was a little confusing to know where to address concerns. Often we saw people confused about where to pay their bill or who to ask for stuff. We soon realized you have to do everything with the girls at the dinning room but it wasnt obvious for everyone. Still they were really nice and acommodating to all of our needs. Maybe a simple sign that implies its not just the kitchen but some sort of reception desk too, would do the trick. Other than that this place was wonderful, we regret not staying longer. We highly recommend getting the massage, it’ll add up to your relaxation.
as good as Parque Tayrona without the 2 hour walk
Just to the north of Parque Tayrona is this and a few other semi luxury eco hotels. This one is particularly well situated. The beaches are almost virgin and there is also a pictoresque wilderness fresh water lagoon. Very tranquil place. Only weakness is they have only one item on the menu for lunch but you can walk 15 minutes and find a fine beach seafood restaurant. Of the ocean is rough it may be too dangerous to swim, but it was calm today and you can walk down past the restaurant and swim in safety. Yesterday I swam and was the only one on a mile long sand beach. very prehistoric. Great hammock swinging place and very relaxing. And the Parque entrance is only a short taxi ride away.
Superb location; great for the senses.
We loved all about Finca Barlovento, including the large alligator in the river below our cabin. Staff is super. Meals were excellent. Make sure you get an Ayurvedic massage from Carmen!
A magical place
This is a special place between the sea, rough with waves and the quiet tranquility of a ever that ends at the beach. They provide two delicious meals with the other 6 guests! We were lucky to have grand guests share tge table with us - a real treat!! We all so appreciated the magic of the place. As typical there is no hot water. But it is do warm out it seems okay. The beds are comfortable . The wind blew constantly so it seems there is no mosquito problem although every bed has a mosquito net . We were in the attached cabana- two double beds and a tiny private balcony and private bath . I would have been happy with the upstairs rooms- loyally open to the elements.
Relaxing and tranquil facilities; friendly staff
Know that the property is basically 2 different buildings; the Cabaña which is is most well know for is right on the ocean but honestly the building looks like it is aging fast and will need to be structurally re-engineered soon. The Maloka is beautiful as well (thats where I stayed). They do keep both areas clean and well furnished. My room had a queen & twin bed and with a beautifully finished bathroom. The common areas are great to relax, hang in an hammock, or chat with others who are here for a stay. Location: is amazing and remote; I choose to take the local bus which was a fun adventure but left me with bags to drag down 500 meters to the house from the road. The Maloka is beautiful and right on the river and with some views of the ocean. Wifi: Do know there is basically no wifi; they have a hotspot that is pretty impossible to connect to. Use this as an opportunity to de-connect; just wish I knew this in advance. Staff: Marta and the other women who run the place are truly amazing and there to help you with anything you need. Payment: They might ask you to pay in advance via PayPal as no credit cards can be accepted on site; COP is an option I believe.
most relaxing, clean, friendly place we've been in our travels thus far.Beautiful surroundings, beautiful people. Would go back any time.
Dream Stay in Paradise
If you want to truly escape and unwind, look no further. Finca Barlovento was an absolute dream. From the moment we got there, we were in complete awe of the property, and immediately settled in to relax. Both buildings (the beachside Cabana and almost adjacent Maloka) are gorgeous. The surroundings are nothing short of amazing, the staff is incredibly friendly and patient, and the food is incredible. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
2 perfect nights
Truly unique location at the edge of Tayrona National Park. The staff is incredible and the food is amazing! Would love to come back
Interesting architecture atop the sea
We had a great time at the Finca Barlovento. We stayed at the Maloka, another building a few hundred yards away, not the Cabana built on top of the sea. (If you're very interested in staying at the Cabana, I would suggest you check in advance with the hotel -- I was under the impression that's where we'd be until we arrived, and truth be told I was a little disappointed.) Nonetheless, the Maloka was beautifully constructed, with fantastic views of the river and the water, and just enough of the sea sounds to lull you to sleep but not keep you awake. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious, but note that they are Spanish-speaking only. Also note that our room had fans instead of A/C, so it was a bit difficult to get the temperature right, but that's not very unusual in the area. It was very easy getting back and forth to Parque Tayrona for the day, and so lovely to end the evening gazing upon the sea.
Beautiful hotel on the beach
Natalie is an amazing owner who looks to make your stay a memorable one. The hotel is located 5-10 min from the entrance to tayrona park by canaveral. Breakfast and dinner are included. The views of Los naranjos beach and of the river are unreal. Unforgettable experience.
Hermoso lugar,
Espectacular !!!
A very quiet and beautiful place
This small hotel is an excellent place to spend a few days in a quiet and relaxing environment close to nature. The service is very professional, and the personnel is extremely polite and friendly. I can think of two things that may the service almost perfect: 1) add a small fridge in the guest rooms or provide an ice-making machine on site; 2) include more local fish options to the lunch and dinner a-la-carte offer.
Great
The location is amazing. The service is really good, the staff is really kind, prestative and effective. The breakfast was good - you can order eggs the way you want it made, fruits, juice, toasts, pancakes. The food was also good and well served. There is coffee and tea avaiable all day as a compliment.
Exclente servicio. Buena comida.
Beach and view over the ocean and mountains. Nature
Cadre magnifique.
It was great no problem about property. Rooms were nice and clean even the dining room

Super nice property with incredible food, staff, and views. Only con was that there isn't really anywhere you can walk / run or any sort of gym.
