Beautiful property. Well kept
Bad communication from start to the end. We change rooms two times bcs something didn’t work in the rooms. Front desk didn’t even care that much , we know it was low season but at least some communication will be nice. Not even any basic infos around . Just terrible
Nice place for the price nice pool and rooms
A must stay!
Great location! Nice amenities and friendly staff. A lot of bang for your buck.
Everything was perfect
Great peaceful place but if your plans are to party by the malecón this is not the place to stay.
Hotel was very nice, booked a 2 bedroom and it was very big with a view to the ocean.
Had the basic amenities but we had to be moved due to one: a caller from the outside wanting to come to our room to check if belongings were left. The person was insisting to come to our room, and despite us calling security they kept calling. Second, the water heater was leaking and there was an another leak in the bathroom.
Beautiful property! Pro: private beach, pool was nice & clean. Rooms are spacious, large kitchen for in room Cooking. TVs in all rooms. Restaurant have transportation. They have a little on site grocery store, super convient. Cons: staff on site is almost non existent. We were expecting service by the pool, there was 1 waiter but he was rarely seen. The restaurant on site in our unit closed super early too (5:00 pm). There are 2 other restaurants on site that have shuttles but have virtually the same menus with only a couple differences, which was disappointing. Also, they don’t allow load music to be played at the pool and they don’t have any music playing either which was kind of a buzz kill. Overall a great place to relax.
perfect
Nice are, but needs more maintenance and more activities
Front desk some days will just don't answer, some upgrades should be made... we took 3p min the first day to take the key out from the door, shower handle of one restroom didn't even stay in place, was completely broken. Restaurant Delfines never took my drink when requested one to the pool area, more than 1.5 hrs waiting for ir before I canceled...they didn't even apologized other than all that the place is pretty. Beach pretty and clean, pool and instalations fine
This place is very remote and isolated from City of Mazatlán. This hotel is outdated and decor is of the early 2000's or 90's. If the stay is in the condo suites, all 3 restaurants are far and hotel transportation is not quick (average 15 to 30 minutes). This hotel premises practically shuts down at 9:30pm and the swimming pool closes at 8:00pm. Curfew on vacation is not good nor cost-worthy for the tourists or rentees. The ocean is very dangerous due to many riptides about every 75 to 100 meters apart and the jellyfish that washes up on shore. The ocean view is great, ocean breeze feels great, and the strong wave sounds are relaxing if you like to hear that. The key to enjoy this place is knowing what is here and what is not here, have a rental vehicle (or your own car), and take your own groceries (litte store shop is very limited, pricey, & when it runs out of supplies it takes days after your trip to get there). If you love the outdoors and lots of walking, this is your place to visit. This is not your typical "hotel" experience. You can love it, hate it, or be neautral regarding the limited commodities offered here at "Luxury Suites by Estrella del Mar". *Important Note: Read the other comments to get a better idea of what people have felt or experienced from this place.* Good Luck to All who visit!
If you. Like tobe in a safe area this is the place away from noise drving distance from the town and stores and the price is fair
Great room and great service, will definitely be returning to this location.
It was a beautiful experience, we couldn't use the beach because of the weather but the pool was amazing and staff very nice and helpful next time for sure this will be my to go place
A nice space for tranquility and relaxation
Superb location and wonderful property with very friendly staff
Beautiful landscape
The staff is very friendly and respectful. The restaurants here are amazing. It’s so quiet here and the beach is just a few feet away it’s so beautiful
Horrible service and away from everything !!!
A surprise gem end of trip - luxury and enjoyable. Pool was great
Super place to stay.
Was really good, phones didn’t work though, i told them, still never fixed
Eclipse
The first tonight I stayed at a two bedroom apartment. The set up was great. The view was amazing. I could use a few more towels and the cushions for the balcony chairs were not there. In the evening, it smelled like sewage in the kitchen a couple of times. But it dissipated quickly. All in all very pleasant stay.
No estaba tan limpio el condominio, se descompuso el elevador, no servia la cafetera, no servia el WIFI, no hay nadie en recepción y tienes que ir por la llave muy lejos, esta muy caro para tantos inconvenientes.
Loved how quiet it was... the staff is all super friendly and helpful.. would like more restaurants and more variety from the bar!
Great place for the money.
The place is great! If you want to get away and enjoy some time in the pool and Jacuzzi without feeling crowded this is the place. Upkeep is definitely above average.
Beautiful
Everything was good!
The bed was extremely hard! The couches were also very old and uncomfortable. The staff was great, but the condos were very far from the restaraunts and city sites so we spent alot of time waiting for transportation. The pool and grounds were beautiful.
Great resort , bad happenings.
This is my favorite resort in Mazatlan. I come here 4-6 times a year. This time, I was placed in a condo that was being repainted on the exterrior. Every morning around 8 am they started chipping and scraping on the walls on both sides of my room. There were several empty condos not being repainted and management should have been more aware of maintenance activities. Also, there is a serious safety issue with the pool umbrellas by the condos. There is no way to secure the umbrella pole into the weighted base. My mother was struck in the face by an airborne umbrella and had to be taken to the hospital, ruining our stay. I talked with the manager about this safety concern which could be..AND SHOULD HAVE..been addressed with an easy fix. Again, I want to say the resort is beautiful, the food is excellent and the beach is fantastic !
Clean and safe
Overall great place to stay. Our two-bedroom condo was clean and housekeeping was provided every day. We felt safe and the pool and beach were great. The kitchen only had four of each utensil - 4 forks, spoons, etc as well as four plates and bowls. There was one knife that was very dull and a couple of frying pans. If you plan to cook, bring your own cutting board, mixing bowls, measuring cups, etc. There were plenty of bath towels in our unit but only one hand towel. Only one kitchen towel was provided. There is no drink service at the pool but we brought our own. Sometimes kids were allowed in the hot tub and sometimes they were not. The resort restaurants are a 15 minute walk down the beach and Mazatlan is about 45 minutes away. The resort will help you arrange a taxi into town for 300 pesos one way.
Suites were very comfortable
We stayed in two of the suites very comfortably. We were a group of 11. The pool is great at this location. The suites don't get the same service as the main hotel because they are condominiums that people rent out and they are a distance away from the main hotel. The property is great though. I would recommend.
A perfect place to stay
Loved the beach front, Housekeeping was amazing, rooms were cleaned (Olivia & Blanca) were amazing. Dislikes: Pool closes at 8 p.m. and its HOT, NO bar at the poo, a drink took 40 mins to be brought to you and it would be hot by then. and you can't have your own cooler by the Pool. property guards are just watching you to make sure you don't have a cooler (Jerardo) is a kiss ass to the manager. You had to whisper after 8 p.m. because he would just sit by the pool and star at your balcony and it's only 8:30 NO pool activities for the kids/family. I did ask to speak to Victor Manuel and he never contacted me.
excellent place, very clean room, excellent customer service
Beautiful hotel with impecable golf course. However, the hotel is in desperate need of maintenance. Upon arrival, the elevator was not working and we had to carry our luggage two flights of stairs to the third floor. Our room could not be locked from the inside as the key would free spin inside the nob. It was never fixed after being reported at least three times to the front desk. Overall, the place is worth visiting, but minor details made us regret it this time.
landscape and rooms design
Our stay was very pleasant What if I didn't like that the pool opens very late and closes early
Clean pool
Not worth the money
no water for shower in master bedroom and no ac on half the suit, including the 2nd bedroom. We reported the problem on day one and had to called back the night of. day 2 because the night and morning shifts at front desk didn’t report the issue
Poor customer service, no food available after 9pm everything closed and everything so far away. Completely unsatisfied!
The resort suites are comfortable and ,clean and the ocean view was beautiful and only a few steps away. The staff was very friendly and willing to help when needed.
I like the privacy, safe and the view and clean. The dining restaurant at the hotel and spa was great, fresh and service was good. I didn’t like was it was a little drive from attraction of the city.
There were plumbing problems. We tried to take a shower and there was no water. We told the manager and they didn't care because we had already checked in. We want our refund because we left to other hotel.
This is an excellent property and excellent area. The establishment has made every effort to create a pleasant resort which has all the essential elements. The beaches and the ocean are quite pleasant. The only missing element is lack of convenient transportation for shopping or to the city of Mazatlan. I am hoping that will fall into place over time as the hotel resort under construction completes.
The property is beautiful but there were bedbugs in my bed. My whole body is covered in bites from the bedbugs. I would never stay in this hotel again nor would I ever recommend it to any of my friends.
Clean, beutiful views but poor customer service
we arrive and the lady at the front gate took a while to come and open the gate for us. she didn't give us instructions in where to go. We assume we needed to go to the condominium area as that was our reservation. we spend an hour trying to find someone to help us with check in. while looking for some one we call the number in our reservation, and no one ever answer. finally a person cleaning told us to go to the hotel to do the check in. The hotel is extremely far from the condo area. we lost over and hour trying to figure all this out. the check in person didn't inform us that we need it a gate pass. every time we tried to leave the resort we were ask about a pass. they wanted us to go back to the hotel area to get one. Like I said too far from the condo and inconvenient.
This property was everything I could have asked for and more. From the staff, to the incredible food, the quality of the rooms and the feeling of quiet, peaceful solitude. I will be going back again and again.
The place was amazing, definitely a great place for families!
The food was excellent, but limited options, with only 2 restaurants. Same menu at both. I did not like how far away from everything the property was. No shopping or restaurants options close. You have to take several taxis to get anywhere. The condo we stayed in was dirty and the patio door was broken. You could not lock it.
Very disappointed, purchased a 3 bedroom stay and gave me a 2 bedroom instead stay they adjusted the charges,And still waiting for my refund from expedia.tried to contact Expedia but texting I disabled.
All was great except for the transportation. Front desk would hardly answer phone calls
Wonderful property
Personal amable, lugar silencioso y agradable para descansar.... Lo unico seria la tina de baño esta muy alta y se vuelve resbaladiza al contacto con el agua, también para abrir la llave del agua muy a distancia. Pero quedamos con ganas de volver. Gracias
Okay
As always thank you and I will be back soon
Estrella de mar is the most beautiful place in Mazatlan and the staff is perfect
beautiful resort
My stay was fine. A bit disorienting regarding finding my way
They need more internal communication, better quality food and a pool bar at the condominiums area.
Good place
We enjoyed our stay. It is very far from the city part of Mazatlan but great for relaxing, especially w/kids.
no a/c last two nights
It was lovely to get an entire suite; the laundry was an added benefit and allowed us to freshen up. The view, store and area around the complex were very clean and well-kept. There was coffee but no coffee machine. Looks freshly renovated in some spaces. I would definitely consider staying here with my family on a future Mexico vacation. The large and bright kitchen would make preparing meals here cost-effective and manageable. Can see pool from deck. Private.
This is a beautiful setting far from the noisy (but fun) city of Mazatlan. Miles of beautiful beach. Our upgrade was great. Food in restaurants was delicious.
Nice, clean, quiet. Great for families
A long way to town
The resort is very beautiful. Unfortunately security is not safe. We had a terrifying incident which led us to immediately leave the resort. Do NOT stay here.
Relaxing
Great Staff, great food, amazing amenities, Near the ocean was amazing!
So lovely the environment everything was so nice
It wasn’t clean, they don’t change towels (old and uglys BTW) every day, kitchen supplies aren’t enough, beds and linens are terrible.
It was awesome
The view from our room was beautiful and the room was excellent, what I don't like is that, the property still under construction, the transportation is very limited and you waist a lot of time waiting for it, definitely you need a car to stay in this hotel, amenities are far apart. Service is good, personnel very polite and attentive.
Very remote area. Perfect for relaxation and quiet if that is what you are looking for. The beach is very different than the center of Mazatlan (no party or sellers), so make sure you know that. These are not suites, they are condos. Way better. All inclusive is not offered at suites so there is grocery shopping to do, or pay at restaurants in the property.
Definitely going to return. Clean, spacious, and very comfortable
The food it’s amazed the people they are so kind the hotel it’s so beautiful, the landscape super green. Note they are building a new hotel calls dream please be patiente, they have areas with big machines working on that
Rated high because the staff is amazing . However , the three main properties are spread out which so are the amenities . They all don’t have the same thing. Restaurants, gym , groceries , golf course . I would say rent a car . Kind of a pain if you don't . Also , be aware that downtown is 40 minutes away . No shuttle back and forth .
It’s a beautiful property. We loved the pool. The only thing, is there’s still a lot of construction and no bar service available in pool bar or activities in pool. Staff very friendly. Food is good!
This place was awesome!
Breakfast was too be included and was not. Spa and salon was closed at the resort-nothing on the website stated it was being remodeled if anything it advertised the spa as a huge feature
All good but dont understand why pool closes early and why you cant have an icechest near pool. With canned drinks
you are selling hotels and not condos, thats what you sold us, no orientation at our arrival, no service to rooms, no towels available, very poor service
If you want a quiet and peaceful experience then stay at Estrella Del Mar. The pools are beautiful and the beach is fabulous. The people are friendly and helpful. It is located 10 minutes from the airport.
It was very nice and staff is very friendly
It was right on the beach, beautiful, and amazing views in every direction. The weather was warm and more humid then I am used to, but the breeze was wonderful. The place was clean and housekeeping was quick to respond with anything we may need. Room service was easy to use and it didn't take long to get our food. Some things that were a bit strange: the ceiling fan wasn't connected just there for looks? They only used hand towels and bath towels no washcloths, but that might be normal for the area. The restaurants menu was supposed to be online, but if you get a paper menu there are more options. The ONLY thing that I really had a difficult time with was the bed. I am partial to a soft bed and this bed had a very firm mattress.
My biggest complaints are these: I never had my towels changed out, bed made etc. Also, the tub/shower allowed water to run all over the floor when I took a shower and I had to use my extra towels to prevent water from pouring out into the rest of the bathroom. Other than that, it was very quiet, the staff was very responsive and the evening bartender in the hotel restaurant was amazing!
No access to restaurants and no market to buy food
Estrella Del Mar tiene una playa excelente con una alberca climatizada. La habitación es de gran calidad. La disponibilidad de camastros y en alberca y playa es insuficiente y el servicio de toallas para la habitación y albercas es muy mala.
The property was beautiful but restaurants were a distance away within the property.
Very nice property and poorly managed…
The property itself was nice and our unit was fine BUT ... although we had a full kitchen the unit was poorly stocked. We had 4 cups, 4 plates, 4 knives/forks, 2 frypans, coffee maker and a blender. No pots at all. You really couldn't cook anything beyond breakfast. The dishwasher didn't work. The property was isolated. If you aren't a golfer there isn't much to do except sit by the pool. The beach was nice but the property is on a point where you get lots of wind. To get to Mazatlan city you needed to take a hotel shuttle (600 pesos) to Stone Island, then a water taxi (35 pesos each), then another taxi (100 pesos) to city center - minimum 1/2 hour. Two restaurants on the property (one at the golf course) which were sub par.
Very nice resort. Clean, quiet, & safe! Staff was great and food was better. Unbelievably delicious shrimps!!
The door lock of the much used Luxury Suite did not work well. We had to tug at it to get it locked and unlocked. The distance from the suites to the hotel desk is far so we didn't go to the front desk to report this. We stayed one night and only left the room once so didn't bother calling for maintenance. I reserved two suites. The door to one bedroom had come apart with nails showing. The bathrooms had shampoo and lotion and soap..but the water never got hot. I let it run for 15 minutes and finally stood on the edge sticking in arms and legs and head to shower in cold water. One hair dryer in master bath, only. The sofa was sagging towards the floor. The patios had a wicker chair but no cushions and another table chair. They were probably very nice rooms once, but are showing signs of age and needed repairs in both rooms. Spacious living and dining area and nice kitchen with dishwasher but no dishwasher soap, only dish soap but no dish strainer. We stayed the one night but if we had stayed longer I would have made a list of things we needed in both suites. Very nice staff throughout. But not worth what I paid for. Beautiful location, and dinner food service orders were plentiful and delicious. Breakfast was wonderful too. But for the cost of one night and the sorry shape of the suites, I' m sorry to say I don't think I will book again.
no water, no drinks no convenience store anywhere close by
In all my years of traveling and staying at beautiful oceanside resorts, this by far was the most disappointing places! The room booked was to a luxury suite, but there was nothing luxurious about it except the oceanside view! It was dirty, nothing worked,it smelled of dirty shoes, sofas were stained (unsure with exactly what 😳)the beds were as hard as the ground and the pillows were also marked with ???. The attitude of the hotel transporter was over the top. He was what made my stay there ever shorter! Rude as hell. We left the very next morning super early! We were promised a prompt refund for the remaining balance and as of a week ago we have received absolutely nothing! Except a promised rapid refund and I am starting to think that it may have also been a lie! We will be making sure that we will be spreading the word about this place to anyone and everyone who wants to stay in Mazatlan to stay way far away from here!
Dirty rooms , floors , furniture. No eating facility in the Hotel at all. Needs a complete remodeling including 20 year old TV,s
Very quiet, enjoyed the solitude, minimal amenities, pool and jacuzzi were awesome. Rooms were dated, but with a larger group, we had plenty of room.
