Such a beautiful property very convenient and close to town ocean view lovely staffs and sweet. Good food at the restaurant below as well serves such a good breakfast meal fresh organic tropical fruits can’t wait to go back again! Rooms are great for families and little ones big and spacious!
Wonderful rooms with a view, excellent staff. In house restaurant is good
Great view out over the sea. Waking distance to town and palace
Great hotel in Tonga - get a room with a water view if you plan to stay for a period of time, as the rooms opposite (not facing the water) are a bit oppressive. They also have a patio to help enjoy the view. Only downside is you get more road & restaurant noise, but that's part of the charm. Restaurant downstairs is wonderful. And the hotel is 15 minutes walk into town. Definately recommend the hotel when staying in Tonga.
Excellent place to stay in Tonga. The rooms were spotless. The attached restaurant was very good and their free breakfast was the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time. I recommend to my friends as the place to stay in Nufalofa
The staff was very friendly, helpful as well as the owner of Little Italy. The place was clean and has a nice view of the ocean even though i didn't get a front view room. Malo
I came for my fathers funeral. We live right behind the hotel but it was too crowded at the house so I booked a room here. The owners offered free rooms for those who came for the funeral but I booked via Expedia so that I could feel as if Im supporting our local businesses. The service was top notch and friendly. Anytime I locked myself out or had questions or concerns, the employees were always there to help with a smile. The amenities worked well for my needs. The free breakfast came in handy and was surprisingly refreshing, delicious, and offered quite a selection. I was highly satisfied with my stay and highly recommend Little Italy for your stay in Tongatapu. Thank you owners and staff of Little Italy!
Exceeded our expectations in every way
Tonga-Wonderful People
The Tongan people are very gracious and kind. This is the best hotel in the area. They have wi-fi available in the rooms. Cell phones from the US do not work on the island, unless connected to wi-fi. The food in the restaurant was great. The breakfast choices varied. There are very limited food options close, so having good food attached to the hotel is a huge bonus. Pizza was very good, so were the cream sauce pastas. The receptionist called for a tour guide on short notice to drive us to all the attractions around the island. A balcony room is worth the extra cost. It was a lovely way to just sit and watch the ocean. The hotel also has car rentals available. Taxis are not available on Sundays unless prearranged.
A bit of an oasis, great staff and food, everything I needed while working in Tonga. Will definitely return next time I am working there.
Good place if here for work.
Stayed in standard room - those with a balcony are probably worth it if you are here during the day, but I was out for work. The rooms are on the smallish side but have everything you need. The reception/housekeeping staff are great. Food in the restaurant also good (basic breakfast) but it does get very very busy at night so either go early or be prepared to enjoy sitting around the table chatting while waiting. Very comfortable bed, other parts of the room a bit tired but there were signs of rennovations happening. If you are here for work it has everything you need.
The hotel wasn't actually open to the public when we checked in (miscommunication with Expedia), but they honoured our booking anyway. This meant we didn't have breakfast, room service or reception for most of our stay but they did try to make up for it later in our stay. Otherwise, the property is a great boutique hotel (particularly for Tonga standards) with an excellent Italian restaurant. The staff were very warm. I would stay here again in Nukualofa.
Friendly staff, great service
Great place to stay and location is right by the sea Really close to town so able to walk Staff were friendly and helpful Hotel is also a restaurant with some awesome food
Staff are freindly, quick to fix anything that not working. All rooms require some stairs to climb so not very wheelchair freindly. Beds are real comfortable, shower has good water pressure, shampoo conditioner and bar of soap supplied. Restraunt down stairs is very popular for their pizza 🍕. I definitely recommend staying here.
Take a deep breath
Beautiful Ocean View and it was nice to be able to open the patio door to enjoy the ocean breeze.
It was nice and clean, had lovely staff and we enjoyed a great sea view from our room. We were allowed to keep our room to 11.30am on the day we left. We did so appreciate that. The breakfast food was plentyful and nice variety. The pizzas are good for evening meal.
We had a lovely stay at Little Italy. All the staff were so friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Back in the Kingdom
Nice and handy to the CBD, there was some external upgrades happening which did not make it to good during the day with noise, staff were great very friendly and happy.
Staff is friendly. Location is great with ocean view. AC is making frustrated noise and there is no other room to swap. Bed sheet and towel have many dirty spots. Kettle has many residual and not drinkable.
.
Owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. They accommodated us when our flights were cancelled and willing to help with anything that we needed. I highly recommend this property
Cozy and comfortable with lovely sea views
Great and cozy family-style hotel with very personalized service. Comfortable rooms (go for the ones with a view!), great running or walking along the sea in mornings or evenings, and quite decent pizza as a treat for dinner.
We had a fantastic stay at Little Italy. My husband and I stayed for 14 nights. Our room was immaculately cleaned every day. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was absolutely delicious. We were so happy with EVERYTHING...can’t say enough to recommend it. Would highly recommend Little Italy as the number one place to stay in Tonga.
We had a fantastic stay! Pasta and pizza are made using authentic Italian recipes.
Affordable & Great food
Room lay out was strange and made it feel smaller. Shower head needs to be changed so water doesn’t go on floor. no hair dryer in rooms. Was impressed the owner went above and beyond to prepare food for me, and the food was awesome with cheap prices. Stayed in wet cyclone weather and felt safe
We loved our stay here at Little Italy, a good getaway from all the busyness in town, Staff was friendly and Food was Delish. I will definitely recommend to others and will also come back. MALO
I stayed for a week for work and I think Little Italy was a great place to stay. My room was a little dated, which may worry some, but for me it was comfortable and had everything I needed. They also have other newer rooms available for those that this may worry. The restaurant there is great and serves some excellent food and there are also a couple of other options within waking distance if you want a change. The staff were very good and allowed me to check out in the well in to the afternoon, as I had an evening flight when I departed, which is a level of service not many places around would offer. I would happily stay here again.
The room and bathroom were nice and clean. The view was great overlooking the ocean.
The only thing I didn’t like was climbing up the stairs with my luggage to get into the room.
I had a delightful stay. The staff was very kind and let me check in early. The location is a little out of town, but it's a nice ten minute walk along the seafront to get into town. The normal trade breezes bring nice clean air to the rooms, and it's a quiet neighborhood. The food is excellent! Only downsides are no lunch service, and no elevator or ramp. But staff was very helpful with carrying luggage up & down. No complaints, and highly recommended!
Wonderful place. Great food. The service was fantastic. They went out of their way to help us with lost luggage issues. Everyone was polite and courteous. Looking forward to returning.
Our stay was really good. Enjoyed our 3days staying here, worth the price we payed for. The view of the sunrise and sunset from the balcony was just breathtaking! Pizzas from the restaurant were as every one says, amaze balls!! And then we tried the lobster on our last night, scrumptious!!! The reception lady was just the greatest, helpful til the moment you leave. Everybody’s stay is different but glad to say me and my partners stay was a pleasant one, thanks Little Italy!
This is the fourth time that my wife and/or I have stayed at Little Italy and I’ve always contented. The staff are super! The lady at reception is super friendly, and each time always bends over backwards to make our stay that little bit better. I gave an average rating on the amenities, but that is only because the place would be that much better if it had a pool. Nevertheless the view is worth $1 million from the front balcony room. What I do find key is the fact that the staff keep the rooms clean! The internet can be a little “how’s it going” at times, but that is more related to Tonga than the hotel. Suffice to say, I will be staying there again.
Easy access to town.We got upgraded from our room which was unexpected, really lovely gesture. The staff are friendly and very attentive when you need anything. Great food at the restaurant as well. Thank you for your hospitality and making our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.
Long walk to town, restaurant was good though. Would have liked bike hire.
Beautiful place to stay is close to town and across from the beach, breakfast is good the staff are friendly, clean hotel.
Clean, upgraded facilities, excellent services, homely, wonderful staff, welcoming and lovely. Well done! Will keep going back.
Lovely a Little Italy
Excellent food with excellent friendly service. They even let us stay in our room longer on departure day as our plane journey was a late evening
I did not like having no lunches available in the restaurant - especially over the weekend.
Good and clean place would recommend. If you like pizza, that's your place too
Everything was good enjoy it very much. Location was good quiet and peaceful And everyone work there helping and friendly
Quiet and Relaxing.
Loved staying at the Little Italy Hotel. It's quiet location made for a relaxing stay. Loved the view from our sea view balcony. You could open the door on the balcony for an awesome island cool breeze. They have very good wifi service in the hotel for those needing to keep up with family and friends oversees. Their breakfast is simple but very yummy. The only thing missing from the hotel is an elevator to get to the rooms located on the 2nd and 3rd level floors.
Wonderful, helpful staff! Well located hotel a 15 minute walk to town along the beachfront. A good mix of seaside resort feel and accessibility to town. Highly popular Italian restaurant on site and a hearty breakfast every morning
great location, excellent service, and really good food. Would definitely stay here again. Food took a long time to get to the table, but i guess this is island time. Only issue is that there are no lifts or accessibility for those with disabilities and/or the elderly, which is a long climb up to the top floor.
A Little Touch of Italy in Tonga
Hotel was very comfortable. The location is directly across from the water so the views are lovely from the front of the hotel. It is a bit further from the CBD but quite walkable. The restaurant is very good and definitely worth a visit!
Great location just on edge of town
Loved the Italian vibe and restaurant was good. Room was well acquainted air con and huge bed. Great value for the money, staff really good.
My wife and I stayed at Little Italy for thirteen nights. Our favourite thing was the fantastic views of the ocean from the rooms private balcony. We would sit out there in the mornings having a cup of coffeee and on two occasions we were able to see whales breaching in the distance. Even without the whales the view is spectacular and reason enough to stay at this hotel. The rooms are also clean and feature air conditioning which is pretty rare in Tonga. The included morning breakfast was a nice bonus and provided us with enough food to start each day. The staff were kind and courteous and were able to help us organize tours and airport transfers. The restaurant featured delicious Italian food, which we weren’t expecting to find in Tonga. If you aren’t in the mood for Italian the town is only a fifteen minute walk away.
Lovely place to stay.
Clean rooms. Quiet area. Great view if you get one of the rooms with seaview. Need to hire a car unless you like walking then it's a lovely 15-20mins (waterfront) walk into the main centre. Lovely Italian restaurant downstairs and handy for Sunday dinner because nothing else opens. Friendly and helpful staff. Good Wi-Fi.
