Amazing Location!!!

This was the best hotel of my trip! The hotel staff was nice and the room was a nice size and the location was the best feature of the whole place. So many bars and places to eat so close by.

The room was small but clean and comfortable.

Perfect property in a central location. 10 minutes to the Dom and the main station. Access to transit is a 2 minute walk. Great breakfast and cocktail lounge.

10 min walk to Cologne cathedral, supermarket and subway are steps away, super excited to be the guest here. Defensively will be here again if travel to cologne.

Lovely hotel. Easy check in. Florian on reception particularly helpful. We were upgraded to a room on the 5th floor which was themed 4711 eau de cologne. I was delighted as my 90 year old mothers favourite cologne. Room spacious and good facilities and coud see the cathedral spires. Didn't eat at the hotel but they gave us some super recommendations for nearby eateries. Would be happy to stay there again.

Very nice comfortable and good size room for two. It is about a couple of minutes walk from tram stn and around 10 min walk to main cathedral Dom.

Great hotel for our needs. Clean and comfortable with an amazing breakfast.

The Lindner hotel offered a high level of comfort. The shower push button controlled rain shower is worth a special mention. Rooms were large and quiet. The only negative is that breakfast was adequate and did not reflect the rest of the hotel. I missed sweet pastries in the buffet.

12/15 min walk to Cathedral with loads of restaurants, bars and river in that vicinity.

Very nice hotel and staff were fantastic. Near to busy restaurants and bars. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Negative points were the air conditioning in our rooms, not very cooling on a warm day. But please be aware there is a nitghclub at the back of the hotel on the street outside. Our rooms overlooked the street and the noise at night was horrendous. They could do with triple glazing windows. Would stay again as long as we had a room on the other side.

The AC did not work, thanks god the weather was cool, but you could feel the room was stuffy. The staff was OK, they work with what they have, and they are not the friendliest. What I could never understand was how crowded the breakfast was, I have traveled a lot; and I have never seen anything like that. You had to wait in line if you go after 9 am. The area is nice, with many restaurants around and close to the main attractions in the city.

The hotel was great all around. Very charming and had its own unique style. The staff was friendly, especially the front desk clerks. Very clean and eco friendly. Definitely will be back!

The hotel itself is beautiful. We had a warm greeting, we were able to check in early after a long flight, and the room was clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is wonderful, with plenty of variety! The only problem was the air conditioning. It was 32 degrees Celsius in Cologne and the AC was not working! The staff explained that it runs on one system and it takes days to make adjustments to the temperature. Not sure if that is accurate. But sleeping was very uncomfortable. If you visit Cologne when it's cooler outside, this hotel would be a wonderful option.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff - very helpful and responsive. Nice bar with the courtyard. Many restaurants around. Walking distance to the cathedral, old town, and apparel stores. The highlight of the stay was the buffet breakfast. Unbelievable selection of freshly prepared food. You would need a stomach of an elephant to taste everything they offer.

Great hotel, breakfast well worth it and great gym facilities. The bar was nice with outside courtyard, good food and friendly helpful bar staff. We had an issue with our room which was resolved immediately and a couple of free drinks offered. Would stay again

Good hotel, would recommend.

Pleasant hotel, good location and it was clean and quiet. My room overlooked the courtyard out the back which was nice. The only 'bad' thing I could say would be that the room was quite warm, I had to put the air-con on at night and open the window during the day. I think the hotel must be very well insulated as the only radiator I could find was a very small one in the bathroom which wasn't even on! I took the duvet out of its cover as it was too hot. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that. The bed laptop table was useful as there wasn't a desk in the room. I recommend this hotel.

I stayed in Cologne for 3 nights and the hotel is situated in a very convenient location where there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. It’s around 15 min walk to the Central train station which is great to walk as long as it’s not raining. I love the shower which is very modern with the buttons installed to turn the shower on/off. The only thing is, AC isn’t strong enough and not sure if it’s a common thing in Europe.

Amazing stay! Good location next to a metro station and modern facilities.

The Lindner met our requirements very well. It was close to the language school that I was attending, an easy walk into Cologne's main shopping centre and near an U-Bahn station.

Beautiful hotel!

Wonderful, well kept hotel. I would recommend it to anyone! Also, classic, beautiful building in the center of town.

We had a really nice stay in the hotel. I chose it because it is close to the centre and had good reviews. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. The pillows no so much! The only think I say needs improving would be a bit of TLC. There were some scuffs on the walls, some chipped furniture that needed repairing, but overall, it was great.

A very cute and clean hotel - perfect for my needs. A good little resto on site and rooms were good size - German practicality! No complaints for my three night stay. Location was also great.

Great staff and gym, less great rooms

Excellent service from all of the staff. They were very enthusiastic champions of the city and extremely helpful. The bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows are the flattest I've ever slept on. The light switches are not intuitive- one next to one side of the bed was the only one to control the entry light and four other lights for some reason. The air conditioning was only in the living room area so the bedroom was hot and stayed hot, even running it as cold as possible the entire time. The glass sliding door for the bathroom was SO loud. Really large and excellent fitness center!

10 minute walk to Cathedral. Nice modern room and hotel. Underground parking about 12 euros a night. Restaurants and shopping one block away.

Great place to stay

Always a good place to stay. Close to the Ubahn and Hbf and if you are so inclined, walking distance to shopping at the Dom. Will definitely try to stay here again.

This property is an old hotel and not 4 star hotel. at best 3 star hotel. The image of the room that is in the Expedia doesn't look like to the room itself. Please double check this property and rate it again.

Property located with a easy 10min walk to center of a city

My second stay at the Lindner and again it was a pleasure. Location is fantastic - right near the Friesenplatz subway stop, many shops, bars and restaurants, like Brauerei Paffgen. Front desk and other service was great. Walking into the old city is a nice walk too.

Weather great with blue skies and sunshine. Vibrant local area and a short walk to the city centre.

I booked a “First Class Room” which had a considerable uplift in price compared the standard room. The Executive lounge is no longer available, the mini bar was very poorly stocked, found out this was free at checkout. The room was clean and comfortable, but the extra €60 for the Business Class Room was just not worth the money. The only benefits I could see was a coffee machine (again not very well stocked) and slightly later check-out time.

Location is very good, bathroom comfortable and clean, good room, had asked for twin beds (travelling with a child) but was given a double bed, though not a big problem. Nice breakfast!

The hotel is very convenient for the metro at Friesenplatz. The staff were not very nice, checkin and checkout was not a good experience.

Nice Hotel but NO SLEEP!

Don't get me wrong, this is a nice hotel with great rooms and a brilliant breakfast, but at the end of the day, we came here to sleep and barely got a wink! Our rooms (123 and 223) faced onto a row of nightclubs. On a Friday night the noise was deafening with people screaming and yelling outside our windows and the thud thud thud of music right outside the window going on until well after 4h30am in the morning. A call to reception at 1am to request being moved and, unfortunately, the night staff on duty were most unhelpful and not interested. They promised to call us back, still waiting a week later. If any of your rooms face GOLDFINGER etc, ASK TO BE MOVED IMMEDIATELY!

Sauna, Breakfast, Bar - 10 minutes from the Dom

The sauna was the best hotel sauna I’ve used - clean, hot (93C) and private. The gym is modern and clean, and has a punching bag. Breakfast is fantastic, and was so good I didn’t even need to venture out any of the 5 days of the stay. The bar staff provided 5-star service. What wonderful hosts. Will stay here again.

In one word AMAZING from the time I entered the hotel my experience was amazing Max at the front desk the young man who worked the bar/restaurant area I am so sorry I did not write his name down so I could give him the proper recognition the breakfast staff. It was our first time visiting Germany and we will definitely be coming back and staying at this hotel

Absolutely friendly and helpful staffs. Room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was outstanding. The hotel located little bot far from the river and dom about 15mins by walk. The location although a little away from Dom and river but it actually provide a excellent short walk. Very convenient for all the necessities. Good clean Hotel, no problems. Friendly, welcoming staff. Went for the Christmas Markets and the Hotel is located bang in the middle of several makers. Short distance from the Cathedral and Hard rock cafe. Good trip 😀

Fabulous hotel.

The receptionist who was working on Saturday evening the 8th December was very rude and unhelpful I had previously spoken to her on the telephone asking my whereabouts as we couldn't find the hotel and she put the telephone down on me .The morning of our departure the 10th December she was working yet again and she was the same miserable person as the day before rude abrupt and unhelpful .I would like some feedback on this complaint please .The hotel otherwise was very nice clean and comfortable .

The breakfast was excellent. but it was €8.70 for a bottle of water.

This hotel is very close to Freisenplatz tueb station on line 5. Hotel staff very helpful. Beware-breakfast is £30! up the road is a Starbucks, which I would not normally frequent, but coffee and croissant less than €10 is far more palatable than a £30 breakfast. While there was a huge dining space, this was only used for breakfast or for dining people attending an event. This left me having to eat in the bar, which when there was a football game on TV was very noisy and intimidating, being a single female. Why the restaurant was not open to all I do not know, but would suggest this is something the hotel considers. hotel room was very nice-lovely bathroom. no tea/coffee making facilities in the room though, which was missed.

Pleasant weekend stay

The room was clean and comfortable. The walk to the cathedral and other points of interest was no more than 15 minutes. The breakfast was really surprising. So many choices--even for someone like me who is a pretty picky eater. Would recommend this hotel when staying in Cologne.

Noise night clubs behind the hotel on the weekends

The room and the condition of the hotel was great. Its near U-bahn station with modern and comfortable room. Main issue is that the hotel is near a few bars/night clubs. On Friday & Saturday nights the music/noise does not die down until 3AM. Its problematic if you get the room facing the back. Ruins the otherwise great experience with the hotel. So if you are traveling on Friday-Sunday, be aware!!

Excellent hotel, with renovated and very comfort rooms... Breakfast is over priced though (25 Euros !!!)

Great location and superior cleanliness at the Lindner Hotel City Plaza . There is a fantastic brewery/restaurant right behind the hotel. It has a fantastic shower and comfy beds.

Nice Hotel in great location

The hotel was in a nice location near the financial district. There were several bakeries and restaurants nearby. It was a15 to 20 minute walk to the historic district and train station. The room and bathroom was spacious, clean and very nice. I was there on my birthday and it was a nice surprise to receive a small gift from staff. The only complaint is the bed was hard and uncomfortable in my opinion.

Great room - would definitely recommend

For our honeymoon, we decided to upgrade to one of the first class suites. The room was massive and looks like it had been modernised recently. The seperate shower was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this room, and the access to the first class lounge is great.

Great hotel

Good location, big room, clean, nice breakfast - can’t complain for weekend stay

Air conditioning would be nice it was too hot in the room and too noisy to keep the window open. Also the heating system was older and a bit dated. On the plus side the shower was amazing and one of the best I’ve seen.

My first impressions were the staff members and how friendly they were. Great customer service and very welcoming. The hotel was extremely clean and quality interior throughout. Extremely pleasant stay. However Cologne is renowned for its loud party nights, so beware of the noise levels as the hotel is situated close by.

Great hotel in a great area. Friendly (English speaking) staff. Room was immaculate. Breakfast was amazing, but expensive - save your money unless you are not planning to eat for the rest of the day.

After the refurbishment finish it will be good

During our stay, the hotel is under refurbishment, there was no notice about it before the booking or check in. Breakfast was very good, room are big and clean. There was no kettle in the room, I asked for it twice, it took the staff over an hour to bring to me, and it was not working and very dirty. I think kettle should be in every room. There are plenty of place to eat and see.

Good location.city centre. Night clubs noise at weekend. Needs moderinising.old carpet,fixtures fittings. Rebuilding when we were there. Will probably be four star when completed. Not four star as of this date. Staff friendly .
