Problem with the bathroom. Switched to another room. Hairs in the bathtub (in the second room). Have stayed in this hotel many times. Not as good as it used to be. Note: The description says that it includes breakfast. However, breakfast is not included.
Smell of smoke in rooms and corridor. Gunshot hole in window. Bedroom door doesn't close
Convenient location
Convenient location. However, toilet in room did not work. We were transferred to another room. There were hairs in the bathtub. Note: Hotels.com indicates that Breakfast is included. No breakfast offered.
Great location, good value for money
Good value for money. Perfect location, but bad physical condition and not perfectly clean. Staff was very nice though.
Location was amazing. Breakfast was great. However, we paid more for a City view but there was no city view. Paid more for room with for 2 Twin Beds and 1 Double Sofa Bed. We found out all room have a couch in the other room.
We liked the location of this property being close to the market area and shopping but it is a very old and unkempt hotel, with much need for repair and modernisation. The paint on the walls and on the furniture is not what I expected paying over $100/night. The breakfast buffet was simple, with no variety, it was the same every day, except on Shabbat when no coffee or toast or scrambled eggs are allowed. The hotel is run more like a hostel with loud young people running the halls late at night. We will find a better spot next time, or just book one night until we arrive and see if the place is really any good before we book any extra nights. I know Expedia won’t make money that way but we would rather be happy than disappointed with our accommodation expenses
Cleaner & more improved/updated than its reputation. Please use my initials, if you’re going to quote me, not my name.
The hotel is an OK 3 stars, well located, a little old. The breakfast is good
Ok place, nasty staff
The place is centrally located and accessible to many locations. Main destinations are easily walkable if desired. The place itself is nice. The problem was the staff. They were extremely rude to me and my family. The girl at the counter took 30 minutes to attend us, just chitchatting on the phone. The guy at the restaurant harassed us our entire stay during breakfast questioning our payment status even after confirming we were covered. We did not feel welcomed and honestly couldn't wait to leave.
Older property. There was a kitchenette but not one cup—-paper, plastic, other. The countertop had not been dusted before my stay. I do not know what happened to my room before I stayed but the key would not work for me—-or a cleaning person I asked for help. A maintenance man helped me in. There was a non functioning safe in the room—-issue during shabbos when you cannot carry your passport of wallet.
Amazing Breakfast, Fantastic Location
The renovated facility feels nicer and more accommodating than before! The breakfast is amazing and the location (Near Machine Yehuda and the Old City) is fantastic!
Short break in Jerusalem
I found the accommodation very spacious and the service was excellent...the breakfast was absolutely delicious and very plentiful with a great choice of delicacies...Really enjoyed my stay...staff were very helpful and friendly...fantastic location as well
Great location. We would stay here again
Average hotel no stars I recommend
overall condition of property is very poor needs a lot of maintenance and is poorly kept the rooms and facilities were filthy. we stayed three days and the rooms were not cleaned even after we asked. we had to get toilet paper and towels from the front desk. the included breakfast was a standout as very nice but overall you get what you pay for. location is good but the rest leaves a bit to be desired.
The room did not have any nightstands, no hangers, no garbage cans ( one tiny one in bathroom) no hairdryer - had to ask for one, kitchen in room had no utensils or kitchen stuff. Dining room tables and utensils are durty. We paid a lot of money for this kind of service. The good thing is there is plenty of beds if traveling with family.
Terrible hotel . Everything is wrong probably bad management
Stay Away from this hotel
Terrible hotel. Door lock did not work and had to be repaired. Insufficient hot water for shower and slow drain in bathroom sink. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was very good. Front desk staff were often away from the desk and sitting in room behind the front desk Location is excellent. Got the money, not worth it.
breakfast variety was fine. Room was o.k. but bathroom door did not have molding and needed painting, difficult to get t.v. channels we wanted on both t,v. sets in English hotel staff was cooperative
Center of the city
Convenient location. Comfortable stay. I recommend it.
Great location. Old facility.
Staff were unfriendly and not accomodating except for Gavriel who gave his best. Thank you Gavriel and keep it up!
Great price, great location!
Room was updated. Halls in pretty bad shape. Arrived at 11:00am and did not get a room till 2:15. Called and left a message 3x and no one returned call. Wanted to ask if we can come early.
Great value and breakfast option. Centrally located to all sites.
Excellent location Hotel is not being maintained and the air conditioning was not working
Run down, good location
The room was very run down and did not look like the pictures at all. Great location though.
Very good location if you want to go any place, bus .. all available for you
This is a very old property. Room was dirty. Missing tiles in the bathroom. Sticky floor, hair in the bed, dirty sheets. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Location is great. Walking distance (30 min walk) to Jerusalem old town.
Overall, while much is attractive, and they have recently made improvements, unfortunately their apparent lack attention to maintenance and keeping things working, fixed,… is sad and beginning “to show”. While overall staff is very good and responsive, we couldn’t get our tv working, original help was hard to get and wrong and it took two visits and several hours to “get it right”
Will not be returning
Although this hotel could use some updating what bothered us more was how unhelpful the staff was. The hotel was either running heat or air conditioning and so there was no ability to control the temperature in our room. The only other option was to open a window and there was noisy construction outside all day from early in the morning. Needless to say, it was not a restful trip.
Great to be near Ben Yehuda Shopping District and near Mahaneh Yeudah Market. Easy walk to Jaffa gate and the Old City/Kotel
Parking? No true no parking on property and if you arrive on Shabbat no one can help you on check in answer phone etc no help for indicator, plus property condition is poor
Old smelly
the lift and passages had a most unpleasant odour...front desk said this was related to the underground garage and some AC ventilation odour. Room was fine tho, basic but comfy enough and good value for money
It was so dirty House keeping never showed up despite us requesting for them to come. Some of the people at the front desk are very nice and some make things so difficult
You get what you pay for. It’s a very budget property. But unfortunately not well maintained and the smell can be overpowering.
Dissappointed
Had to change rooms 3 times. First room had someone elses clothes in it and no bed sheets. 2nd room same night as arrival no safe. Shower was broken and place literally falling apart. Slept there that night hoping to change next day. 3rf room adequate but missing bedsheets and safe broken this room came after long confrontstion with front desk
I did not like how some of the guests or public would litter around the Lev Yerushalayim. I liked everything else about Lev Yerushalayim, their staff, the grounds and their service. It is an amazing hotel.
One star.
Great in concept, all suites, but run down. Only 2 men to clean the 100 rooms and everything. Skeleton crew: 1 person at the desk. One person on reservations. No food service during the week, only on weekends.
Disappointed loyal customer
We have always liked to stay here because of location. Although, this time, the hotel looked very run down. Now, as i understood it, it had been bought by new people and they were in the midst of making renovations. However, that does not excuse the fact that we checked in Thurs evening and our room had not been cleaned till we asked them to on Wednesday! And our door handle was falling off from the outside. It was disappointing.
When we first arrived the room we were given had numerous issues. The following day i requested a room change and was given a larger family room for no extra charge.
Like apartment concept
Excellent location. Basic facilities. Not very clean nor well maintained. Good for people who look for a bed to sleep, take a shower and have a good location in Jerusalem.
Comfortable two room suites. Excellent breakfast and friendly accommodating staff.Great location.
They never came to clean the rooms. There were not enough towels. The breakfast was sent to the room instead of being a breakfast buffet, and it was not edible.
it was OK
Friendly staff. Had a problem with the shower head.
Horrible Motel
Hotel was run down and needs some repairs in hallways. Restaurant was closed.
Location and room amenities
Nice place
Comfortable stay in a convenient location in Jerusalem.
not friendly staff and unable to get the king bed as reserved
Really great hotel
I have written before about how the hotel is really outstanding in terms of location, quality, and services. This time we booked the two bedroom apartment, and it is worth the money A larger living room, and the second bedroom provides a lot of room to put luggage and repack it.
Excellent location adjacent to King George and Ben Yehuda Streets. Seven minute wakk to Machne Yehuda Market. Walkable to Old City. Near light rail and many bus lines. Suite layout offers privacy to additional family members. Lowrise building (6 stories) is convenient for walking up and diwn stairs.
It was a good room but we stayed there only one night
Well located and good value. Roomy suite..........
Convenient Location & Good service
Great location in the heart of the city! Will stay here again. Staff is friendly & helpful.
A beautiful hotel in the center of Jerusalem
Such a nice, accommodating hotel! The location is fantastic, the rooms have most everything you need. They have a special setup on the first floor for lighting Chanukka candiles. The front desk tries to help with everything, and the service is professional. Only one minor problem: the room I had got a little cold when it was cold outside. Still comfortable, but I would have preferred to be able to raise the heat. This hotel is highly recommended.
So happy we discovered this hotel!
This hotel is not too fancy but is comfortable and convenient, at a great central location, and... an amazing breakfast! We will definitely be back!
Roomy Laundry facilities Staff Location Price Xxxxxxxx
Very spacious apartment, with a couch, two beds, kitchen. Very comfortable and easy to work in.
Not much to like dirty rude staff wouldnt stay again
THE LOCATION!! the buffet breakfast and affable staff
Convenient location.
Room was adequate. Service for wake up calls was poor. Complained 4 times to the front desk about not receiving a requested wake up call, but nothing was done to correct it. Otherwise service was good.
The location on Ben Yehuda and so close to the Old City is fantastic. This is the second time I've had trouble with the parking garage on site. The staff was very helpful.
time wasting time wasting time wasting more time wasting
Friendly welcoming staff. Ideally placed in central Jerusalem to reach all sites.
I liked the breakfast, but the hotel had a foul smell of sewage in the elevator and hallways.
Jerusalem Hotel near the market.
A decent bathroom renovation made up for some of the shortcomings of the room. Check in was fine as was checkout.
Nice Place
It was a layover until moving into an apartment,
V convenient. Room (aparthotel) spacious. But hotels have no double beds.
The staff, was difficult, and unhelpful. The room was dirty. We asked for towels and sheets and were told they would bring them right away. THEY NEVER CAME. The gym was so dirty and had broken mirrors, it brought to mind a post nuclear war movie sceen.
It was good, great location, just the hotel was a bit dirty and old
Nice stay
Rooms really need a makeover.
Such a good stay!
The staff was very friendly and helpful, they really made it a pleasant 4-day stay. The room was big and comfortable, also very clean. I found the location to be nice and quiet as it was a little removed from the main areas, but everything was very close and convenient, both Ben Yehuda and City Center were a quick few minutes away on foot. The A/C worked great. I did not have the breakfast so I cannot speak to that, but it was nice that there was a vending machine with beverages in the lobby.
Location close to everything Old need update to rooms
Generous sized accommodation
Ideally located a short walk from the old city, convenient for bus tours and close to the market. Luggage storage was helpful.
All good but slippery tub
This is not my first stay at this hotel and I was mostly happy - the location is great, the room clean, the breakfast generous. Not all of the receptionists are welcoming though. But a bigger problem: the tub is a bit narrow and very slippery which makes taking a shower an adventure and not a pleasant one - this is a disaster waiting to happen.
Disappointing
HUGE groups of young kids disrupted the stay at all hours of the day. Imagine 20-30 kids running up and down the hallways pounding on the walls. Yup. Reported it to security multiple times and they said there was nothing they could do. Disappointing, I didn't get much sleep the entire trip bc of the noise from the campers. There were large groups of them in the hallways with room doors open most of the day and night.
Toilet was stuck in corner and could not spread my legs. Spacious but bare minimum.
great location, close to sites, restaurants and shopping
I liked its location and price. I also liked that there is a special elevator for the Sabbath. Every one was curtious and that I was able to leave my belongings there even after I left the hotel . It was very helpful.
Sorry but never again
Dirty bathroom, very hard beds no plates or utensils for kitchen, nice breakfast
It was clean and the front staff (Michal, Ariella and Ben) were exceptional - caring, helpful and friendly. A definite place to return.
Parking and check out issues
Everything was relatively good, except for the parking service. The hotel staff could not explain well how it works and how to access the garage. It is also very complicated on Sabbath and at night when it is locked. We were leaving for the airport at 2:00AM so I asked the reception to settle my account the night before. The person at that time declined my request and assured me that someone would be there at 2:00AM to settle our account. The person at that time was a security guard that was not trained to perform our check out. He had to call someone to do it and it delayed us significantly to leave for the airport.
The staff at the front desk was helpful at most times, and gave good directions.
Best location!
Incredible location! Literally cannot be best. Overall hotel was clean but rooms a bit out dated. Bathroom was nice and seemed recently renovated. I would definitely stay again.
The staff promised me the same room when extending my stay, and then retracted it after I had already booked the room through Expedia. They moved me to another room which was very noizy and loud, as they were drilling. The elevators were broken and we had to carry our luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Just overall louzy service.
Place can be modernized, but the people are very nice and it’s in the best location
The place needs a makeover, but the staff are very nice and you cant beat the location
Its clean, organized and easy to talked to their employees and respond to my needs
The room were nice to stay in and the staff was helpful in resolving any and all issues.
The room is an apartment. Nice size. Tasty breakfast. Nice staff. Amazing location
Good location but bad rooms!
The hotel is in good location and the staff was helpful. But that was about it... The bed, the furniture, the lighting were straight from the 70s if not earlier, kind gross and smelly.
The Location was Great. But unfortunately that's as far as it goes. We stayed with my wife and two kids in a so called two bedroom for a night. First keep in mind when booking to list all guests, as Israel seems to charge extra per guest about $40- $50. So your special may not be so special. The air was not working maybe because it is cooler in Jerusalem, but we dont like to keep the non screen windows open to hear the noise and traffic though the night. Since we paid an extra $80 for two guests we received two sheets to put on pull out sofa's.I thought a two bedroom meant both bedrooms had real beds, I was wrong. There were dirty blankets in closet to use as well with no coverings on them. There are no Toiletry's either. So if you need a place to stay that is better than a hostel in Jerusalem then this may be the place for you.
In good central location. Hotel reception staff nice and friendly. Food was ok. Could do with a good refurbishment.
This isn't a terrible hotel. But I think it needs uogrades. The room was large. A separate bedroom and living area. But rhe curtains need to be replaced and rhe couch need to be replaced. The staff was were very nice and very helpful. It's located in a great neighborhood too. Shopping and restaurants.
