Disapointing all around
The Leonardo Plaza is a dated hotel and has been for too many years. Furniture in the bar area is dirty stained and furniture in the hotel rooms is scratched and old. The hotel needs an upgrade in all areas. The outdoor area is also quite dirty. Staff too need to be upgraded. When I arrived the two guys at the reception desk were fighting. And then one proceeded to tell me (I didnt ask) what was wrong with the other one. Really shameful.
Amazing food- everything else was disappointing
The view is amazing, when you arrive at the hotel you are greeted by a glorious lobby, everything screams fancy until you check-in and get to the room, the room is incredibly dated and i found it to be quite dusty too. The shower head was too low, (i am only 5ft11 and had to crouch to stay under is) The breakfast was amazing, one of the best hotel breakfasts around, it's a shame the rest of the hotel falls short as the food is really high quality. I believe based on the current condition of the hotel, they should either lower their prices or give the rooms and common areas some TLC.
We enjoyed the stay. The hotel room was spacious
Air conditioning is not working properly during the winter time. It is heating, even if it is hot in the room. You can’t sleep, it is so hot.
Great
Reasonably priced hotel in great location. Had to make my own coffee at breakfast. Later on when I was in the lobby at a meeting I ordered a coffee, it took 45 minutes for it to arrive and when I asked where it was the lady at reception was unapologetic.
I was welcome so nicely. The breakfast is unbelievable good. The service is great. Location is perfect. Accommodations very comfortable. I can’t wait to be back.
Nice
I’ve stayed here many times—mainly for the location and reasonable parking fees. Some of the rooms haven’t been updated which may be reflective in room choices. At this point of my tenure, I think they should be offering me an occasional upgrade but may be hard as they usually sell out for the weekends.
I have stayed at the Leonardo Plaza many times. The location is unbeatable. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is unparalleled. But most importantly, the staff are the best!
Ronit from guest relations is super friendly and the hotel is very accommodating for any requests. We will be staying here often.
We stay here often, the staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is my favorite of all the hotels.
Just ok
Needs an upgrade Slow check in
Fridge was broken shabbat food ruined had to pay for lunch hotel could care less
Excellent place to stay close to Western Wall Huge lavish breakfast Shabbos Food was delicious and special Thanks for Mr Yusef Dining Room Manager
The hotel smelled, and it was dated. Needs a facelift. When I asked the check in personnel to assist me with acquiring non feather pillows, they were not so helpful. One morning, I saw a cat in the dining hall.
Amazing service. It was my birthday and the manager Ronit sent a delicious cake to my room.
A very enjoyable stay. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the food is excellent and we were well looked after. We would certainly go again.
Stay a way from this hotel.
Usually I don’t write reviews and I did stayed again in this hotel , to give it a fair chance. But both of my experiences we’re terrible The main issue beside that the rooms not clean and maintenance is bad, the stuff of the hotel are rude and not friendly, they are not there to help you at all if needed … I know they will answer that they are sorry and will do better but they really didn’t change , same bad attitude…
Staff as a nasty attitude, and I did e get the type of bed reserved Showed and room is dirty
Plaza should not be your first choice
The Plaza is located in a central location and advertises parking available - something not as available at Jerusalem hotels. Breakfast is fine - in my experience middle of the road for hotels 3 star and above in Jerusalem and is included. Factually - parking is very limited with a very small lot and the communication from reception to new guests is poor. This can mean as happened with me, that you find out with sparse information of details of alternative parking (not a Plaza property) late at night upon returning to a full lot. Security and front desk staff in the middle of night is not focused on customer srevice to help in the parking.
Good breakfast
Friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Nice overall facility.
Nice place
It was a nice place. But it was so hot outside and dry in the hotel. When the staff was asked for water and cups it became a big deal.
Nice rooms and excellent food
My Jerusalem Mission.
The hotel, back in the day, was the crème de la crème. However, like all running hotels, every few years there is need for a refresh. It is still a beautiful hotel but could be a little cleaner. It didn’t take away from my experience. In fact I believe some of the issues is because the shortage of staff, which can’t be blamed on anyone, due to the current situation in the Sourh of Israel. The wonderful thing about the Plaza is they catered to the displaced families for a while. That gets merit in everyone’s book. The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. The highlight of my stay was the breakfast. And the sabbath meals. I haven’t had such good food while traveling in quite some time. Every dish was more tasty than the next and never a shortage. I highly recommend the Leonardo Plaza.
Awesome
I looooved how everyone was treated!!! They were attentive. They eere helpful
I come back to the Leonardo Plaza time and again. There is no better location for accessing food, shopping and the sites. The staff are superb and go out of their way to make everyone’s stay excellent.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Property needs a bit of a refresher. Otherwise, clean and convenient rooms.
Good location Quite old. dated
Stress free family vacation !!!
The exceptional time we had at your hotel was enhanced by the delicious food for Shabbbos , and of course, the daily breakfasts that started our day in a fulfilling way.Yusef and his excellent team in the dining hall made the whole experience stress free. Keep up the good work.
Nice place!
Great stay!
For us, this is the best hotel: location, rooms meet our needs, pool, value for the money and staff is always gracious, curteous, respectful amd accommodating
There was no Coustmer service.
Great buffet breakfast!
Place is outdated but breakfast is great!
Very pleased with our stay!
The hotel is in a great location! It is near transportation, restaurants, shopping and Old City! The employees were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast had a nice variety of foods. Our room was comfortable and clean. Nice amenities! We had a nice spread of goodies and a welcome note from general manager with her cell phone if we needed anything! Nice touch! We will go back!
Great location abutting Independence Park, close to Mamilla Mall and Old City (10 minute walk). Charming restaurant, Deja Bu, 5 minute walk way. Staff helpful and accomodating. Excellent breakfast. Clean, well-appointed rooms.
Hotel was clean and very conveniently located. However, staff very unfriendly and food was atrocious.
Close to where i wanted to be
Great location, great breakfast. The room is old and run down, definitely not “five star luxury hotel” as advertised! The negatives- the workers don’t speak English. They knock at 9.30pm to drop something off for you that was meant for an other room. You ask them for water and they don’t understand what you are saying. They knock at 7.45am to ask when you are checking out, but they don’t understand your answer. They have a nespresso machine in the room, but only 4 pods are complimentary and this information is not disclosed anywhere. When you ask the front desk for more pods they say there’s an extra charge for the pods and for the water. Are they kidding ?!
Everything was great
free breakfast was very good
There was no a/c in the hotel
Best Kept Secret in Jerusalem
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a smile and the front desk could not do enough for us. We arrived late at night and they sent up a light dinner.
We were very happy with our stay. Thank you Ronit and incredible the front desk staff for working hard to make sure all was great - which was! The breathtaking view from my room over the old city was worth the trip.
All was good.
Disappointed with front desk management
The staff was rude Surely and unaccommodating The woman receptionist on the day shift gave attitude and failed to inform housekeeping to come clean my room… Quite disappointed with the service of the hotel. The only redeeming quality is Mr. Yousef who is the banquet manager and has always been so friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The service was great!
The staff is very helpful, especially the manager Ronit . She makes sure we are satisfied and everything is to our liking ! Thank you Ronit
Centrally located, walk to major shopping & tourist destinations. Very freindly and helpful staff. Good size rooms and large airy lobby.
3rd Year at the Leonardo Plaza
This is my 3rd year staying at the Leonardo Plaza, Jerusalem. I love everything about it. Great location, nice, clean rooms, nice views, and friendly, helpful staff. One of the most if not the most bountiful kosher breakfast in the world. Fully outfitted gym. Nice davening and restauurantat the hotel.
Great staff and excellent amenities.
Customer service is something that is missing tremendously; their service is harsh and not friendly at all. I walked to the front desk many times, and I left empty-handed. For example, I asked for a Taxi that I could pay with a credit card, I did not have cash, and the first person told me yes, I can get you one. When I came down and ask for the taxi, they said NO Taxi takes credit cards, I took Uber, and no problem. Room service does not speak English at all, is hard to place an order and get what you want.
As a struggling student in 1988 i always dreamed i could stay at the Plaza. We had a last minute drop off for my daughter. We looked up hotels and the plaza showed up. A bucket list. From the get go we arrrived at 930 pm. There is this terrible mistrust from staff to guest . As we didnt just pay $350 for less than a night. My daughter just cam to see us off. The min we got to rhe room we recived a call " if you daufher stays that will be $150 more. I was worried so i saif yes. Making the total stay $450 america. The rooms are terrible tiny. Mold is all over the bathroom. Peeling paint , there is a musty smell. We needed somewhere to stay till 2pm. Every hotel we stayed in during our stay gladfully said yes. The plaza claimed they wrre full booked. But if we wanted to spend another $150 we could get another 2 hours. ? The grounds are surrounded by debris . Be ready to pay for the parking and keep your recipet! In case you want to come back. Every hotel comps for the parking. This was a terrible disappointment i would say 2 to 3 star tops. Sadly the breakfast was something amazing. Which no one questioned us or any guest if they were guests. Anyone could just walk in just picka room number. Again you feel like there is a mistrust or the plaza is just desperate for every shekels. My bucket list is now complete. Id stay at a hostel before id return again
Horrible
This is the third time telling you and the front desk . The room was very dirty and toilet seat broken
Staff was amazing
Location and nothing else. Terrible service and dirty.
My whole experience was rubbish
I arrived at the hotel . They had a booking for two persons . They could see I was the only person travelling. I showed them my passport . They over charged me for two persons. I tried so hard to get my refund back they didn’t want to give my refund back . Then they said when I leave the hotel on my last day I will get my refund.? I didn’t get half of my refund back . I was still charged for two persons????? I will be making sure I get my refund when I return to my country my bank will get the money back that I’m owed . I would not recommend staying at this hotel to my family friends or colleagues - RUBBISH
Excellent location
Great for touring, great for breakfast
A very good, centrally located family hotel if your priorities are kosher standards and like minded guests. The pool is good, the rooms are dated but acceptable, but the breakfast alone is worth the whole cost. Also, very close to the city centre and that is very convenient.
This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed. This hotel was built about 50 years ago. And it looks like a 50 year old hotel. Everything is broken down. The rugs, the doors, the beds, the furniture. I can assure you that they haven’t put a penny in this hotel since they opened for business. Don’t stay here!!! You will regret it.
Bathroom was in bad shape, room wasn't to clean
Dilapidated. Run down. Dated. Unclean. And the staff know and say there is nothing they can do. I was shown 6 different rooms and one was worse than the next and I have pictures to prove it. This is NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL and they have nerve to represent themselves as such. If you’re looking for a 2-3 star hotel in a good location this is it. If you want a clean, luxurious experience, keep looking and save yourself the aggravation. Also, Ronit or anyone else, don’t bother responding to this review, because we both know it’s absolutely true.
decent stay
the receptionist charged me for the extra bed, even though the reservation was for a room with 2 beds and a pullout couch, they charged me for taxes, even though i am American and the bathroom still had hair from the previous occupant. overall decent experience probably would not go back except the location was perfect
We had a great few days at the hotel and would certainly recommend it to others
Bathroom wasn’t clean. Shower floor was peeling and metal parts were rusty.
Cleanliness is an issue
Location was great but the hotel rooms and cleanliness were a total letdown. Rooms are old and dirty. Bathrooms are small with clogged drains. Getting housekeeping services is a challenge seems like they don’t like to change sheets or vaccum. Very frustrating experience.
Room are out dated and dirty.bathroom small.
Overall excellent!!
Stay a way, Rude Hotel Stuff and not clean Rooms!
Everything was disaster, stay a way from this Hotel!!! Hotel Stuff are Rude! Rooms not clean! Old rooms with water clogged in the shower and bathroom! We took 3 rooms and was a disaster weekend!! STAY A WAY!

Great location. Good breakfast. Poor service and not maintained. Good bed.
Property is outdated but otherwise pleasant.

Great food, excellent service. Rooms need modernising.
The staff is what makes it, the excellent location as well. Chanoch and night time manager were so helpful.
