Quiet and delightful
My family and I arrived at the property and immediately noticed it did not look as advertised. Once checked in we were giving a room which didn’t have the room number on the outside. We entered and noticed the room looked nothing like the inside photos and was kind of run down and smelled like raid spray. The heat came on as I was bringing our luggage in and that’s when our trip took a turn for the worst! ROACHES and I mean more than 3 or 4 started crawling from the vents and near the refrigerator. My little girls were terrified! I immediately went down to reception and requested a refund and was told I would receive one but days later Expedia told my refund wasn’t granted by the hotel even though I showed them pictures and video of the roaches in the room assigned. I’m very disappointed with this booking it’s really unfortunate.
Be careful with the room descriptions.
Overall the stay was not bad the cleanliness was good we had a couple of problems checking in we reserved 2 suites 1 bedroom with two queen beds and a sofa bed when checking in they only found one i had to email my receipt to the receptionist that was on the phone because there was no one except the security there in person once she received my receipt and confirmed 2 suite i was issued keys mind the rooms were on separate floors once we made our way to the rooms we walk in to the surprise it was a one bedroom suite with only one queen bed and two sofa beds which is not what i booked yes i know sound picky but your paying for something you except to get what your paying for so i went down to the reception where i had to speak on the phone again to the receptionist (robin) and i let her know the problem and what i booked and she said well that what we have and i cant just appear rooms that fit the description of what you booked at the end she was able to help and gave us an extraroom to make up forbone of the beds we were missing but it was on the other side of the hotel and now we had to figure out who of us was going to be all the way over there away from are already separate rooms on this side of the hotel.I have pictures but for some reason it doesnt let me upload them.
Quaint and affordable! A great place to stay and we would return!
Very friendly helpful staff
Loved it
There were some roaches in my room and the room wasn’t the cleanest. Also my card would not work really at all. When I went to check out I couldn’t open the door due to my card not working for over 30 minutes. I had to walk all the way around and down the stairs to get a new card and when they gave me a new one that card didn’t work either.
Nice place to stay
Rooms / furniture very outdated, smelled of cigarettes all through facility, ac / heater did not work properly , no extra linen for pull out bed
Great stay and friendly staff!!! Very clean room and lovely sauna!!
Personnel was helpful.
Place needs a lot of TLC!!! Lots of things need fixed and renovated. Definitely not as the picture described. Very run down. Shower didn’t work, and they were unable to fix it!!! Activities they were supposed to have weren’t in working condition!
Room size was good, located near the Truckee river & downtown with free parking included. It's walkable, but the area was not good, few homeless people were rooming around. The building was old, noise from top floor and next door, in-door pool was out.
I love
Awesome
Really exceptional service. Everyone was very courteous. Ron, Raquel, Christopher, Isiah, Yasmine, Penny, and everyone really were very considerate. They made us very comfortable, especially as a family with special needs child. Kids loved the indoor heated pool and adults loved the sauna. Discovery Museum is on a walking distance. On Wednesday 4-8 they have discounted tickets which are at a bargain price. There is fun and activities for all ages to enjoy. It's a really fun place. There are plenty of eating places. Our favorite was Alladin's. The chicken and beef kabas were tender and rice was fragrant. The platters came with a choice of salad and soup. Soup was a steller. Even my picky eater ate it and asked for more. We plan to come again and recommend to our family and friends
Had kitchen
Apparently, they don't change the bed linen between customers. Carpet very dirty.
GREAT
Great room great customer service. Great all-around. Will come back. Absolutely recommend!!!
Staff were very friendly! I recommend this place especially if you are staying a week or more , it felt like home . Very clean , a lot of things to do as well .
Nice place to stay still Improving property when finished will be an excellent place to stay
The people here were so friendly, and it was a great location to be in the middle of everything but not be in the bright lights will probably go stay there again!
A good stay.
Not worth being cheap
This property needs a lot of love, but it's not from lack of trying. Everybody I spoke to there was really nice, and the location is great. The room was very spacious. But that all the positives. It was run down. The bathroom had lots of moisture damage. One bed had a cigarette burn on the comforter. We saw a small roach in the bathroom. I wouldn't stay here again, even if it meant I spent a tiny bit more elsewhere.
Fine for our needs. Little run down.
It was a lovely restored historical Hotel Resort in a quiet convenient part of Reno. Rooms were clean, well arranged and up to date. Due to my business stay, I was unable to take advantage of the many amenities available at the Legacy Resort Reno so I cannot comment on them. The personal were pleasant and helpful.
Walls are thin could hear our neighbors through the night
It was easy check in and nice little kitchen and loved the bathroom set up
Clean
Furnishings were outdated but as to be expected for the price. The couch was particularly gross and the baseboard in the bedroom bathroom clearly had some water damage. Other than that, i have no complaints!
Even though this properties common areas and rooms are somewhat outdated, it’s very clean and comfortable. Was an excellent choice for this price point and I enjoyed the week I spent here and would stay again.
The rooms were.clean and comfortable
Great experience clean n safe for the family will do it again thanks
the person in from desk very nice and helping with reservation
Legacy Vacatin Resort, Reno.
This is a pretty nice place and an easy walk to the river walk, auto museum, a great art museum and some casinos, of course. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, also. The staff was great and responsive to our needs. All good!
Woeful and pleasant surprises
The outside is dingy af but surprisingly the rooms were pretty clean. Weird amenities like no room phone, they communicate via phone app instead.
Unhelpful staff even when you speak to them directly.
Location I like Didnt like that it has become a run down hotel.
Every person I encountered were amazing. Nice and very helpful. The property was a bit outdated so I can see how people thought it was dirty.
The lady at the desk when I checked it did not even seem like she wanted people there. I felt very unwelcome. It was not a good experience. The room was ok tho
Thankyou so much for the stay! I loved how i got the room next to the office! Made me feel safe!!!!
The beginning of my stay was really rude from the regional manager El Salvador which tried to charge me extra fees outside of what the receipt had told me. Was nice enough to waive the deposit after I called Expedia customer service to make a complaint. Some of the guests that they had staying next to us was in a domestic situation I had called the security multiple times during the night shift to check on it and even called PD and they did nothing about it. The next day I was getting bombarded with noise complaints because of the next door guests. They're domestic situation was lasting all day. Until I was confronted by the door by Reno PD telling me that I was getting kicked out and trespassing. Just for management to tell me that it was a mix-up they did not give me a refund or honor the mistake that they made on their end and I dealt with a traumatic situation. I am not okay with this experience with legacy. I asked for a refund and they told me to file a claim and make a refund with you guys.
Treated excellent staff super helpful
Kitchenette is nice to have.
Everything was great but I felt like the security staff was hounding me for some reason or at least their presence seemed a little overbearing. I’d imagine they sometimes have their hands full with problematic guests but that’s not me. The property is definitely old and a bit beat up but I found the room itself to be comfortable and clean but if you flip out if everything isn’t super modern this isn’t the place for you.
Great location to Downtown Reno and river walk
Uneventful
Couldn’t find the place !
Easy to get to. That is all I liked. It is an older property and it shows inside and out. Bedroom bathroom door didn't have a handle. The beds were too soft, livingroom furniture was old and dirty. One of our keys didn't work, went to the desk and theh said they fixed it not so. Day manager was rude. Police was there the first nightfor several hours. We left the next day. Waste of time and money. I was in bed all day when I came home. Clean sheets and towels. Rugs dirty .
My stay here was not horrible like people described in the comments. It does need a lot of upgrades.
We had a nice stay. It was quiet. The bed had a sag on my side. The kitchenette was small, but ok. Never used the facilities that I was charged for. Just an extra expense I did not anticipate. Would stay there again.
I have stayed in this hotel numerous time and like the comfort, room size and amenities. This is a one of few remaining good values in town with other properties are overpriced. The hotel is in need for remodeling and upgrade.
Poor
No bedding in room for futon. We had six people total and it was chilly, they would one give us 1 extra blanket. Wr couldn’t get the thermostat to go up. And we found a cockroach near the bathroom/kitchen
Reno NV
Very good place to stay. We would stay again.
Super outdated, curtains look really old and worn out, carpets were really dirty our feet were black within a couple of minutes, roaches in room, unable to accommodate me Into any other room because they were all just as bad or worse according to their security who was the only one there trying to help. Then they Refused to refund me after I decided to not stay not even one night. Management never called to apologize or even try to reason with me. I had a family with small children and no where to stay. Very upset that this hotel turned out this way I think it has a lot of potential if they cared enough to renovate or at least treat the cockroaches and deep clean. The rooms are decent sizes with living spaces and kitchens but who can even have food there without getting bugs crawling Into it.
There is no accoutics. Every sound top, bottom or side rooms comes thru. Depending on hour of evening parking can be difficult. 1 of our bathrooms had the toilet break, fixed in a timely manner but broke again. There is only 1 elevator for the amount of rooms. The carpet and furniture are very dated.. The amenties like theoutdoor room, putt putt etc are in really bad condition. Having said all of the above the size of the 1 BR was great, linens fresh & clean, all kitchen appliances functioned. We could walk to a nice area of the River Walk and had some great restaurants to chose from versus being in the casinos with all the smoke, crowded people etc. Room rate was reasonable. We'd stay there again if there are some upgrades.
Roach infested, carpets were dirty, old need major updating, this place has so much potential rooms are spacious and would be great if they renovated and got rid of all their roaches.
The rooms the room was very clean and the staff wa
We? Had a excellent stay. We might do it again. Someti'm trying to stay there again.
Room needed attention, and more blankets needed.
Check in was easy, I asked for the bedding for the fold out couch to be delivered to our room but it did not arrive within the first 3 hours so I asked for it again along with 2 extra blankets. One pillow, and 4 sheets was delivered. The third trip to the front desk ended up with one available blanket that was miraculously found. Our room needed help, there was a stain by one bed, the carpet needed repair, one chair was all ripped up, missing shelving in the fridge, marks on the walls, blow dryer falling off the wall, water damage to baseboards. The carpet by the elevator was a tripping hazard. The tv worked, the internet worked, a nice stove, dishes and pots were available. Adding some sort of side table to the beds would have been nice, but unfortunately there was not room. For the price it was good.
I liked the kitchenette. I like the size of the room. I didnt like getting sick from dirty air-conditioning. Definitely not nice enough to be called a resort .
This is definitely an old property, with some things that need fixing (sliding glass and screen door. Weird design and quirks too. However, for what it is, we were impressed with little things— the towels were presented as if this was a fancy hotel (washcloths folded like flowers and tucked in, tissue presented like flowers, toilet paper end folded in nicely, etc). Everything was as pictured and clean and neat as an aging property can be. Good value for the money. Walking distance to Truckee River and downtown. We will stay here again if we’re going for value. It’s also pet friendly which is great.
Good location and clean rooms
Phenomenal Property
It was a Phenomenal stay, with Easy Check in even After Hours, I Highly Recommend this Facility for Traveling!!!
Property was clean. There were areas that smelled pungent of marijuana near west bldg elevator. Check in was listed to be at 4 pm they told us room not ready would be half hour. Was not contacted that room ready after an hour. Had to go to front desk and ask for status. 1.5 hours later got room. Bathroom sink clogged. AC worked too good. Room too cold. TV remote wouldn't change channel by entering channel number, change only with up and down arrows. Stairs in west bldg are uneven and tripping hazard.
The staff was helpful. The rooms were clean. We had a problem with the a.c. in living room. Placed a fan to cool the room. Good work.
Bathroom exhaust fan was LOUD!! Liked that property was one block from Wingfield Park and Truckee River. Also just a few blocks to downtown casinos.
Out of the tourist area.
Ok place
The place was not what I thought it was,,, there was not a couch like the pictures showed, it was smaller then the pictures . The place was clean, the staff was very nice.Dont stay here is a Rave is going on downtown! I heard it for 2 days!
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
The photos are filtered! This property is run down and disgusting! We had bed bugs, no hot water and the indoor pool had litter everywhere. The staff are all very young and make you feel like you’re bothering them. The elevator is terrifying bc it’s slow and shakes. DO NoT STAY HERE!!!
The exhaust fan in bathroom was very loud. Liked the location of property by the Truckee River.
Excellent Choice Comfortable and Clean
It was fabulous
Property has the amenities every o e wants just needs a little detail work to bring in more guests!
Kids will love this place
Really a great place to bring the kids. Lot's for them to do. Was a little worried that our room had a pull-out bed but it turned out to be comfortable.
I love this place great value great staff
I loved having the kitchen full of pots and pans and baking dishes. Price was amazing for including a kitchen. Game room was a bonus with a few quarter games and a pool table. Pool was a decent size and deep enough to jump in. Location was very walkable. Housekeeping was friendly and helpful. I would stay here over and over.
Air Conditioner
It was very hot in the room, air conditioner was now cooling very well, even though they brought up a couple of fans it was stiil hot.
The room key did not work twice then we were told they would come in and fix very early in a.m. The next room had no air conditioning. We are in Reno! Plus a very very sketchy neighborhood. Called and also stopped at the resort and the manager was never in to visit with him. We did not have a vehicle so we were scared at the resort
The room was clean and tidy. The property is kind of run down, but serviceable. Our AC was not working properly, though. They sent a guy over twice to fiddle with the thermostat, but we eventually had to ask them to just bring a couple of fans, which they finally did.
Malo
Nunca limpiaron la habitación
For the price, this was an amazing stay for my 6-person family! We booked the 2-room suite with the kitchenette. Making our food in-room (and burgers on the patio grill) saved us so much money! The pool, mini-golf, and proximity to downtown are great. There were some broken things (blinds, door stopper, burner on stove), and the parking garage didn't fit our Suburban with bike rack on back, so that was a pain, but staff was nice to help with that.
No phone in room
Avoid. Scam hotel.
Did not provide enough sheets, blankets or pillows. Mattress was paper thin. No clerk available to address issues. Desk clerk cannot check you in. You are told to go to their website, which did not function, so you are forced to go third party, this creates a situation where refund is next to impossible. Checked out in the middle of the night on the first nine get of a three day booking. Charged for all three. The place is falling apart and no efforts are made to repair anything. Microwave and TV were not working. Toilet is small and low.
I wasnt sure what i would get for the price, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, the deck pretty private, and it was very clean. I love the story of the hotel. The goofy owner is on tv when first turned on. I encourage you to watch it. The employees back it up. Can you do any better than vacation with a cause? Don't hesitate to.book.
Love this place always stay here when I go to reno
Water damage - severe
It’s a mature building but clean inside. Samsung, LG and Kenmore Appliances, not you no make Walmart crap. The folks at the Desk at check-in were polite, helpful and professional. I’ve been spending one or two nights a year in Reno for the last seven years and this has been my most pleasant day. There are some real dumps in this town. The neighborhood is improving. The Park is GREAT and a 3 minute walk.
Just neighbors No big deal
Just Fine
Just Fine. Room OK. Kitchen is equipped
When checking in, it is a requirement to have a credit card on file. The room was paid for in advance and I didn’t want to use a card. I offered cash;$100.00 and it was not accepted. Legacy would not work with me,so we didn’t stay. Would NEVER RECOMMEND LAGACY VACATION RESORT!
Clean and quite.
Staff were friendly, grill had no propane, large burner on stove didn’t work, air conditioners / heater not working properly, tv remote wasn’t working, dewelling exterior needs re-painting and touch up, un inspected so called mechanical man knocks at your door at 10pm unannounced, gym facilities was good, other then that the location was prime.
Okay for the price
This was a great place for me and my daughter at a tournament. We could make breakfast and dinner on the stove (fried eggs, , oatmeal, can of soup) instead of going out all the time. The room was spacious. It's a quiet hotel close to the casinos, a grocery store nearby (5 minutes walking). The building itself is older, but in good condition and clean. They have recycling bins in the rooms! We didn't try the pool or the gym, but they looked nice and usable. Would stay again.
A little dated, but clean. Staff was very friendly.
Dirty pan in the cupboard, shower a bit funky, no dish soap or scrubbie to clean dishes. Worked out well for my needs, was close to Starbucks, nice to walk nearby by the river. But the property overall was a bit trashy.
It has a full kitchen which is nice. Single studio doesn't have much counter space. Other good. Most 2 inconvenient aspects: 1. Thin walls (easily hear neighboring rooms which can potentially make it difficult when people are watching TV on loud volume). 2. Lack of control over thermostat. Reno has erratic weather. One the weekend it snowed a little and then hot (above mid 70s) in the week. The staff insisted that since there's only central heating/cooling and since "technically" the season is still summer, there would only be the option to HEAT or keep off. The room gets VERY stuffy and they have limited standing fans. Poor sleep (especially for longer stays) in this condition. There is a netted door you can open through the balcony but that can be a security concern also, it's weird to have that open when you're sleeping... easily someone can see in. These are the 2 main things that would prevent me from coming back. Especially the thermostat one.
The staff was great and very understanding. The furniture and beds were very uncomfirtable. The indoor pool was what we were kooking forward to most but there was barely any seating and no tables to put our towels and things in and keep them from getting wet. Yiu could hear EVERYTHING outside and from the rooms above and next door. We got no sleep as the people above us were up walking around all night and it sounded as if they were going to come through the ceiling. We had booked 2 nights but left after 1
Close to downtown
I used to love this place. But they have changed a bit since the renovations. NO OVENS. Front desk staff always helpful; security on point. Red Phone Amber is the poster child of upper managements utter lack of customer service. So that definitely hasn't changed over the years. They are infamous for their "red phone" service. 3 stars given for Amber's lovely reception and the removal of ovens. I was really looking forward to being able to cook an oven dish for myself as I live on the road. I put up with a lot of lackluster customer service over the years just for that oven. no oven - no reason to tolerate Red Phone Amber anymore.
Over a two nights stay, we encountered 1 adult roaches and 4 juvenile roaches in the guest room. Bring many roach motel and roach bait stations if you are planning to stay here.
The bed sheet smelled of urine. It’s like they never cleaned our bed sheet when we checked in. My husband could not sleep as the smell was so bad.

Good, but...
I like Legacy Resorts in Reno. However, the suite heat didn't work in the kitchen section. Kind of disappointed about that.
