The property is beautiful. Lots of greenery. Not honeymooners nothing is available for honeymooner. We were advise by the reservation agent of the hotel, but no special offer were given to us as honeymooners
Thank you to all the lovely staff who work here that made our stay amazing. This hotel is located about 50 minutes from the airport. It’s tucked away and great for privacy. My husband and I stayed in the luxury ocean front pool suite. The view of the ocean from the balcony and infinity pool was tranquil and lovely to wake up to everyday. There is ample room for two people in this suite. Great storage in wardrobe to put all your belongings away. The dressing area includes two sinks and 4 big mirrors. The bathing area has a lovely shower with hamam and big bathtub to relax and take in the amazing views. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows could be better (I think you had the option to upgrade pillows, I just didn’t get round to it) full mini bar and snacks - as we don’t drink alcohol they changed the free wine bottle to a non alcoholic apple juice. The food menu in all restaurants were great, I believe there is something for everyone! The seafood is some of the best I’ve ever tasted, everything was so fresh. Our suite was cleaned 1-2x a day and two bottles of water were provided daily. Extra thank you to Zahra, Jayshri, Jagdesh and Aniketh for making our stay perfect. (Sorry for any misspelling) Minor improvements- adding a mirror into the main suite area as the lighting was quite dull in the dressing area when applying makeup. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend.
10 Perfect Days
Romantic get away at le jadis for 10 days in an ocean front luxury pool suite. AMAZING. 6 🌟 my wife and i felt very welcomed. The staff were such beautiful people , very friendly and accommodating. It was actually sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble from the chefs, bar staff, frobt We are already planning a return visit.
The stuff was very friendly From the front desk to our room we enjoy our stay we wish had enough time to spend
Hotel only replied to an email I sent with some request 72hrs I sent it.
My boyfriend and I stayed in an ocean front pool villa for 3 nights. While the room is gorgeous, and just like the picture that is the only positive they have to offer. For an $1,800 stay you would think we wouldn’t have to kill GIANT roaches ourselves at 3am. Housekeeping came, killed 5 and left a can of raid with us. They were apologetic and I wouldn’t have left this review except I left my coat there and after 3 days of calling no one will respond. They continuously tell me someone will call me back, and now they won’t even pick up my phone calls. It is clear someone stole it as well as my boyfriends YSL cologne. The food is mediocre, and the drinks are outrageously overpriced. The beach leaves much to be desired. If you have the money for this resort, try LUX Le Morne instead.
Luxurious
Amazing property.. Had the buffet dinner. Food was quite okay, nothing great at 50euros per person. The activities (snorkeling, water skiing etc) provided are great.Rooms are excellent.
Kiran, Renu, Ajay and Raj made sure my wife and I stay was excellent. The staff makes this hotel. If you are visiting Mauritius this is the olave to stay. All regards
Property felt dated, breakfast choice very limited and average quality compared to Westin a few minutes along the beach.
Limited dining, room service stuff need improvement Dark color of the ocean because the Rocks, ocean pool suites (pool) need maintenance low water level in pool Location of the hotel vary far
Very friendly staff and great service.
Excellent service from all the staff at the resort. They are all so very kind and very accommodating to our every need. We went with our 8 month old baby and the resort staff were always so attentive. All our requests for our baby was met with a positive answer and a smile! Very luxurious resort and spacious rooms. There were times where our in-suite pool towels were not replaced but when requested, they were delivered to the door promptly. Unfortunately our tv stopped working 2 nights before our departure. They did try to fix it on numerous occasions but could not and eventually wanted to move us to another room but we declined given the short time left. We thought there would be some sort of other compensation for this but when we checked, this was not the case. Overall an excellent resort and would definitely return. The highlight is the friendliness of the staff!
Fantastic resort
Superb hotel, fantastic staff who couldn't have done more to help our 10 month old stay occupied and welcome us all as a family. We had a beachfront room with pool... 100% the best rooms in the resort although Oceonfront looked good too
Very nice smaller boutique hotel.
I was in Mauritius on business and decided to stay a couple days to relax. The hotel is only 15-20 minutes from Port Louis. The staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. I was very pleased that they accommodated a late check-out since my flight was at night. Many hotels are loath to do so. The main pool is quite interesting as it replicates the beach. The pool is filled with sea water right from the Indian Ocean and surrounded by sand. There’s also a traditional lap pool and many rooms have private pools as well. The food at both restaurants was good and wait staff were appropriately attentive. The breakfast buffet, however, was typical and uninspiring. Excellent WiFi throughout the property was a pleasant surprise.
Great hospitality and nice place to stay along the shore
If you are used to a 5 stars hotel, you would rate it as a 4 star because it wouldn't be fare to consider this a 5 stars comparing to others(REAL) five stars. The staff is amazing, extremely helpful and make it feel a 5 star but the hotel itself, has some things that need to be improved and updated. the beach doesn't give you the best view of beaches in Mauritius since the water is not clear as in the other sides of the island like Northwest and East coast. So, it was a bit disappointing for us. The dinner buffet was expensive, around 50€ pp, since it is a buffet it should be cheaper. The rest was good.
I REALLY enjoyed the care of the staff and the atmosphere of the resort. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. I think overall, the only two things I may mention are the breakfasts (although good and plentiful) were the same every morning. Even small variations in the food selection would have been great. The second was the fact that we had booked the resort as an adults only resort, so we were surprised to see people with children at the resort. It was not an issue and the children were fine, but it would be appreciated if it were clarified as expedia's site stated adult resort.
We really enjoyed our stay at Angsana for our honeymoon. It was quiet and peaceful with very friendly and helpful staff. About 15 minutes to Port Louis and Grand Baie which was just enough distance to be able to travel in there for dinner etc The highlight for me there was the Day Spa and the facilities.
Excellent rooms, excellent staff. Great spa. Great veiw. Good restaurant ..good food. The beach in front of the hotel is ok. Unfortunately no restaurants or entertainment in surrounding areas
The room (beach front villa with pool) was really nice, well maintained, clean albeit not too private. Heated pool was essential, it would have been unusable otherwise. The room was the highlight of our stay. The beach is incredibly tiny and dirty. YUCK! The rest was average (food) to very disappointing (service). Our room was not cleaned during the day any of the days. Come back at 4pm each day, still not serviced. Had to call every damn day and ask for cleaning, fresh towels. Not my idea of how an $800nt stay should be. Turndown never happened. They apparently don't do turndown until well after 8pm but by then we just wanted to sleep. We never got water the last morning and had also run out of toilet paper and called to have it replenished - never happened! No toilet paper all morning! We Americans are not used to a bidet, so this was unwelcome. To add insult, the drinks were about $15 each and could not detect any alcohol whatsoever in them. I would not stay here again. The beach is gross, not pretty at all !! and the location is not near anything worthwhile. If you must visit Mauritius, stay down near La Morne maybe. Or just go to the Seychelles instead because it's so much prettier.
Luxurious hotel with great views
Wanted to relax completely before heading to Africa for a 3 week safari and this is the perfect destination for this. As I am unable to eat seafood I found the dinner menu options that didn’t include seafood a little underwhelming. I didn’t complain to anyone but Paul the manager diligently visited all the tables looking for feedback. To my surprise the constructive feedback was immediately addressed. At their initiative the next day the chefs met with me to plan my dinner meal the next 2 evenings which were really high quality preparations. Nothing felt like it was too much trouble, all the attention was almost embarrassing.
The resort was one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve ever been to. The bad things are the staff resplonse to me was very slow and the gym room was small.
romantic stay
got the beachfront suite for 3 nights one week ago. The stay was nice and enjoyed the private pool. Room was clean and very satisfied with its size, path, and shower. The bed was comfortable. Privacy of private pool was good but could be enhanced. I wished if terrace had better privacy. Food options for dinner is limited to 4 main dishes. Overall experience was excellent.
Good place for Honeymoon
Generally good destination for a honeymoon especially for ths price as similar packages in the area were almost double the price. Excellent service from all of the staff with a smile. Food and service in Oryza restaurant was fantastic with Chefs Suardi and Curtis more than happy to prepare any meal that was requested. There's not much outside of the resort except overgrown fields and trees. Further out there are a few places to go to including Port Luis and Grande Baie. Of course there are the many catamaran day trip/ excursions to the various islands and other water based activities that can be booked. Rooms could do with some extra maintenance and attention. I.e. switches and sockets don't work, sliding door didn't close and pool.heatwr was broken (repaired after multiple request to check it out). Rooms were nice spacious with areas to rest and relax both inside and out on the terrace/ balcony. The spa and vitality pool were a nice place to go to relax and has complimentary access. As well as this there are a number of complimentary water activities that can be carried out at the resort including kayaking, windsurfing and glass bottom trips.
Slow service and missing basic amenities
Hotel staff is slow, I called 4 times to come take out the dead lizzard out of my pool
Perfect
We just checked out today. We spent 2 nights. We had a great time for my husband's and son's birthday. The food was amazing. I really loved that dinner was a 3 course meal and not a buffet. The thing with buffet is that there are so much food that I can't decide what to go for and end up not eating well. The service was outstanding. Special thanks to Janvee at the restaurant. She was a doll. Always ready to help and provide us with what we need. My son, Zakariya, had more fun than us. He loved that there was a pool on the balcony. He loves swimming. I am trying to find something to complain about but I cannot find any. I call to ask for toothbrush and literally 2 minutes later, someone brought it. I called for bell boy and immediately after, he rang the bell.
The only concern is that the dinner is so expensive. Also, the a spa price is overrated.
Beachfront pool suite
Great room Easy access to beach Small cosy resort
Good hotel.
good stay.
Great for a lazy stay
The hotel is ideal for people who like to stay on-resort. There are lots of watersports, included in the package, including jet-skiing. There are a number of pools, spa facilities, gym, pool table and a beautiful beach. The beachfront private pool villa we stayed in was phenomenal. There really isn't anything else in walking distance in the local area other than alternative hotels. The town of Grand Baie, which is quite nice and situated on a beautiful lagoon, is about a 15 minute drive away. The beach is really beautiful but not very long as it is closed off on both sides by rock banks. You'll have to visit other beaches in the locality if you like long walks on the beach. The food was excellently prepared at breakfast, lunch and dinner. But if you have a restrictive diet like me (no red meat and no dairy) there wont be much to choose from. That was the only real issue I had with the hotel as I ended up eating the same handful of meals for most of the stay unless we went outside. The staff are very friendly, the pool / bar guys are brilliant at keeping your drinks topped up and great fun too. My wife and I stayed for 12 days and loved it.
Extraordinary
Extremely good service. Special thanks to Kiran, the chefs and all the guys out there
Stay at Angsana Baclava
Though the property and the staff in itself is very good its in a very remote location. Also We faced some issues with the Air conditioner which was eventually fixed the next day. We had booked the highest category room - beach facing with private pool. However, lack of hot water in private pool / Jacuzzi made it useless. Barring these two things we had a fabulous stay. Location is in the middle of nowhere and Taxis are really expensive.
The property looks old, trees are not properly cut and hence looks shabby. But staff are friendly and helpful.
Romantic, tranquil and luxurious getaway
We travelled for our wedding anniversary and decided on a bit of luxury. The ambiance and location of Angsana was simply delightful and despite some bad weather we enjoyed our stay. We had our 7 month old baby with us and the staff at the Angsana were so helpful and friendly - in particular Kiran and Renu. Mauritians clearly love children and the resort was very accommodating. Not the easiest to get around with a pram, but we managed thanks to a strong husband! The kitchen prepared some baby food although this needs to be ordered in advance. We skipped the spa (too expensive) but enjoyed the food. The staff were professional and helpful in a relaxed, friendly way. Our Garden room was lovely even though we thought we booked the beach front room (with private pool and jet bath) so after initial disappointment we were overall very happy with our stay and would stay there again!
Very Nice hôtel with an excellent food
Hôtel staff was at thé réputation of mauritius people very Nice and always with smile: room was perfect' with private pool So excellent for my baby of 6 month, and because the only négative point i havé is'thé beach: small one,and was expected much better from m'y last trip few years ago: Other very positive point here is thé food : very light with meat, fish, vegetarian food on each dinner: alcool was bit expensive with glass of wine Arround 10 gbp. Conclusion if'you ré looking for an amazing beach not best choice of hotel if not to there will be an excellent choice.
Its a quiet and fun hotel.
This hotel was interesting to say the least. Construction wise and awesome with amazing views and layout, most notably the reception and library. The rooms are well laid out and you will surely love the bathtub carved out of one piece of stone. Service is another story. You feel a bit of confusion as the investment in infrastructure was well executed with staff training. The hotel is far from one that provides for the guest the "ultimate" gateway experience. For example, after ordering lunch, our food tray stayed outside our door for 3 days... i'm not sure when it was removed as we checked out on forth day. Despite several house keeping and maintenance crew coming in and out of the room during the stay. during check in and out, i felt like i was entering or leave a grocery store, not a getaway resort.
Good location but disappointing service
I was looking forward to my trip, however, it was a disappointing experience. The location of the hotel and design were great. But service doesn't match a 5-star status and the price they are asking. The room was spacious and comfortable, but not tidy when we arrived. One of the bathrobes in the room was dirty and smelt of old body oil. When I asked hotel staff to change it, they came in with the replacement, smelt the belt from the old bathrobe and gave it back to me saying that I could still use it. What kind of service is that? The quality of the food was average. The breakfasts were fine. But the dinners could be better. The swimming pool was very dirty, so that I didn't even think of trying it. I couldn't get rid of the feeling that the staff was always trying to trick me out of money. When I asked about the taxi price, they said that I should negotiate with the taxi driver (despite the fact that they had a price list). In the restaurant they tried to charge me twice as much for my meal, etc. On the positive side, the weather was great, and I managed to enjoy sun and sea. But there is definitely a room for improvement there...
lovely location close beach
staff very helpfull , tried best to please - great spot for couples - so quiet and relaxing - no crowds
Remarkable and satisfied visit to Mauritius
Magnificent in terms of comfort and relaxing purpose. Staff was extremely helpful.
Boutique hotel, right on a beach, great location
This hotel is perfect for a quiet romantic feel. Only 52 rooms keep the resort peaceful even when at capacity. The staff is incredible! So attentive and kind and our room was just incredible right on the beach with it's own infinity pool and deck that walked right out into the sand. The spa is the best I have ever been to anywhere.
Strongly recommended hotel
Wonderful time and gorgeous hotel. Very nice and intimate beach.
small pebbly beach
Public areas looked tried especially passages. Swimming pools compensate for small pebbly beach. Beach facing rooms are worth it but garden facing have too many sparrows chirping that are disturbing. Relatively Expensive meals and remote location but worth it if you get a higher category of room.
Lovely stay; friendly staff
Very friendly staff, more than happy to accommodate special requests. Great snorkelling on a nearby reef, although there's no long sandy-white beaches nearby. Had a great relaxing stay and the food was great. Note that there's no shopping nearby, but within reach by cab.Worth a visit!
Excellent Resort
We had a 6 night stay at the Hotel and absolutely enjoyed getting pampered by the staff. From the reception desk to everyone waiting tables for us, it was simply great. And since I had my year-old son with me, I was truly happy to see the active manner by which the staff took the extra step to make our stay more enjoyable...
thanks all the staff
I would like special thank the manger for the resturent and the IT manager they are really helpful with everything
Disappointing hotel not worthy of a 5 star rating.
Hotel not up to standard in most respects other than the room we stayed in (deluxe pool suite) which was of a five star standard. General service was atrocious with numerous requests to have our room made up, our water and tea to be replenished and the service at most meal times extremely poor. The beach is really small and rocky, and very limited for swimming and other activities. The main swimming pool had green slime all over the bottom of the pool which was unpleasant to say the least. The food was average, and the one night when the food was of a five star standard, which was New Years Eve, was so over priced that it was almost laughable. In general all extras were excessively priced even in comparison to other restaurants and resorts on the island. All in all, this hotel cannot be graded as a five star hotel on the island, and does not live up to the standard of hotels in the Banyan Tree/Angsana Group.
Good Rooms
The hotel is fabulous but the service is very very bad
Angsana Hotel
Overall is good hotel. We enjoyed our stay for 5 nights. Private pool in the room is quite nice, room space quite large and comfort. People vey nice and kind treat you as you are at home. They gave us a romantic dinner table at the pool for our honeymoon which apprciated from thier side. The things i disliked in this hotel are as follow: 1- The room was not cleaned two times as i was out, therefore i had to ask them by myself to clean it. 2- Location of the hotel is too far from anything and beach site is full of rocks and not crystals you can not swim or do water sport activities. 3- The private Pool water in the room was too cooled all time and we could not swim in it, for me was just a waste. They should at least have heated up or water temp controller. Ontop of that its not full privacy unless you have one room ontop corner, otherwise people can see you. The area of the hotel is small not that big, with 3 mins you can walk all over the hotel. Overall is a good hotel i would rate it 7 out of 10 consider the value of the money when you book.
Mauritius was a revelation. Beautiful island, friendly people, amazing facilities. There are so many things one can do. Perfect for family vacation. The hotel was beautiful. Not so nice beach, but then again, the island itself does not have the most beautiful beaches. The only downside was the hotel room service - one would expect more from a 5 star.
Beautiful but slightly disappointing!
Our trip to Angsana Balaclava was overall a good experience, the hotel is wonderful, the rooms leave little to be desired, food was spectacular and the location wasn't bad. However, the hotel fell short in a couple of areas, 1) they don't have a proper concierge, it was only on the 3rd day that a very helpful gentleman by the name of Kiren advised us where to go and what to do, he was very helpful in this regard. 2) The hotels service leaves a little to be desired, there were 2 days when our bedroom hadn't been made up or turned down for the evening. This was concerning as it wasn't even a busy period for the hotel. 3) Their beer tap (draft beer) wasn't working for the entire duration of our stay, it's a small issue but when you're paying 5 star prices, one expects 5 star service. In general the staff were friendly and Olivier the assistant manager was also helpful. They could do with arranging a few in house activities in the evenings, games etc.
Great for relaxation
It met our expectations of a Banyan Tree Spa hotel. It is compact and quiet. Great for relaxation. The food was excellent. The room fabulous. The staff were friendly and always ready to help.
The Worst Banyan Tree i have been ok my LIFE , very old, and the Service is HORRIBLE. As the food. They treat you like you are in a holiday inn or Worst and it was my honeymoon by the way
Staff super friendly, especially our waiter Ajiai!!!
Superrrrrrrr

Get a massage!!
Facilities and rooms second to none with particular mention of the spa which offered amazing yoga and massages - we came back our honeymoon on excellent shape, thank you Nadhin!!
