The view from the breakfast area was so beautiful.
Great hotel, near the sites
We had a great time at this hotel. The beds were comfortable, great breakfast, and helpful staff. It was less than 5 minutes to Ayasafiya, which is great. Also lots of access to restaurants and shops.
Great view for breakfast, great staff
I really loved staying here and will come back next time in Turkey. The staff were wonderful!! They made being there really easy and were helpful in everything even arranging my taxi to the airport. The woman who does the massage and hammam was excellent.. I would totally recommend her. It was a great location… an easy walk to all of the main attractions.. and excellent restaurants just a step out of the door. My favourite was breakfast on the terrace and incredible view of the mosques…It was lovely being there!
This hotel is lovely; it’s hidden a mist the iconic places to go in Türkiye. The rooftop view is breathtaking and eating at the rooftop is spectacular. We were upgraded and thoroughly loved it. The staff is very kind, helpful and easy to understand. The best is the breakfast just delicious and again the rooftop view is amazing. Excellent location to sites, facilities r great, staff was excellent and very clean. Food preparation was amazing
Very good location Great room Staff was so helpful Highly recommend
2nd time here - will come back
Very convenient to many attractions and there was a tram stop across the street. The view from the terrace breakfast room was excellent. Seating was available both inside and outside and was available in the evening as a place to sit and enjoy the view.
Good and friendly staff
Excellent hotel so close to all mosque and tramline.hotel staff vey good a d very friendly and helpfull.very good breakfast. Sure will come again
It was ok. Not worth the money
Lapis Inn was probably the most convenient hotel we have ever stayed in. The location is the best, you just cannot find anything better and specially for the price. When we came to Istanbul, we did not want to drive around on the Taxi,. And the priority was the location, we definitely achieved it to us Lapis Inn. Downtown is just few minutes away, the grand bazaar, all kinds of shopping, pork… If you just want to stay in Istanbul and enjoy the culture, the food and the shopping this is the most perfect spot to stay. Even though it’s located right in the center, the hotel is very quiet I think because the entrance is not on the street but hidden away. When you are hungry, you just have to go downstairs and step out of the hotel, they million of great restaurants steps away. Very nice and cozy hookah bar right outside of the hotel, when you come out, just turn left. And never-ending shopping is right outside of the hotel. There’s also a great breakfast, variety of different foods for every diet Gorgeous for you from the terrace on the roof while you have your breakfast. It is a very clean hotel, not super fancy, but very clean. Hamam is also a must experience.
Wonderful location
We stayed in the corner suite (#501) on the top floor. There were only 2 rooms on that floor. Most of the floor was taken up by a terrace with an amazing view and the breakfast area. I loved the location on the hotel and the room. The AC unit blows straight into my head (I did not like it). The bathroom area was much newer than the bedroom area (I like both of them). The breakfast included many kinds of fresh cheese a couple of types of fruits, vegetables. There were 4 types of hot dishes for breakfast that were different every day. In the afternoon, there was tea and cookies for the guests. The staff was very helpful and nice.
Awesome place
Really a great location. Walking distance from all the sites. Good restaurants nearby. Staff were helpful and their breakfast was awesome. Pretty big spread. Didn’t get to use the spa. But there’s always next time. Definitely will be back and rebook. Thanks for hosting us.
The receptionists were very kind and hospitable especially Selcuk. He made me feel welcome at the hotel and provided good guidance to me. Being my 1st time in Istanbul, this was really helpful. The hotel is a walking distance to Hagia Sofia and Grand Bazaar. I will recommend hotel due to proximity to the local attractions
The hotel was a great location, walking distance to attractions and the tram right outside the door practically. Staff was helpful and very nice.
We had a fabulous family stay at the Lapis Inn. We had a spacious family room which was cleaned daily and fresh water bottles added every day. The views from the terrace are amazing and the surrounding historical sites within easy walking distance. The area is full of restaurants and shops. Breakfast choice was brilliant with eggs cooked to order perfectly (thanks chef!). The staff were excellent - all friendly and welcoming. Fully recommended.
The breakfast view is great!!! People very helpful and friendly. Close to tourist and cultural areas.
I didn't receive any benefit from my VIP, and the property is ok.
Everything was perfect ! The location was great ! Right on the best street with the blue mosque and Hagia Sofia 1 min walk away ! Rashid was really helpful at reception and so we’re the rest of the hotel staff. Breakfast on the 5th floor had amazing views ! The terrace is a really nice place to relax and take in the views. Loads of food places right on your doorstep as well! Will definitely be staying again !
This is my second time staying here and this time I’m really disappointed. The morning of my flight I had stolen items. Worth $400 I couldn’t locate them and was dissatisfied. My flight was super really so after searching everywhere I left. I didn’t receive any compensation. I’ll make sure to not stay here again… really ruined my trip.
Had a lovely time. Great location. Easy to commute to all landmarks. It’s located in the heart of Istanbul. Will recommend!
Shower head so badly calcium encrusted, water came only out the sides. Biddet inside the shower, felt unsanitary as water would splash out of the biddet onto you as you tried to shower with the restricted shower head. Shower was very mouldy. TV did not work at all. Room felt like it had no noise insulation, could hear everything, footsteps, people speaking. I stayed on the 4th floor underneath the rooftop restaurant, staff sat out on the 5th floor until 2am chatting, lack of insulation meant I could hear everything. Small selection for breakfast. Staff seemed indifferent and not approachable or friendly.
Great hotel in old town close to blue mosque and grand bazaar.
Good location but the pics on Expedia are misleading. Equivalent of a 2* hotel. Very ok breakfast too. No real window - overlooking the AC ducts.
Decent hotel with a very nice roof top patio with breakfast.
Nice view on the rooftop restaurant.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, it is relatively clean and location is next to Sultanahmet Station other than this it is very very bad any other hotel would be better, value for money is extremely low, whatever is on the website is very misleading
Amazing rooftop views and friendly staff
Location of this hotel and rooftop views were amazing! Great breakfast spread and drinks every morning. Staff were amazing, very helpful, and sweet!
Hotel is good and at very best location but rooms are very small not good for family
Let me start that the stuff were very friendly, the place have a beautiful terrace The room is old and dusty behind the curtains, cleaning can be done much more better Hot water needs 15 minutes to come
Great location, friendly staff. Small rooms. Hot water wasn’t working the second day.
Was located in a fabulous location and all staff were very helpful and friendly.
The location was great right at the heart of the Center from where you can heads-up every where as well as many places to dine in excellent location
The view! Nothing and nothing beats the view from the rooftop. The standard room is quite small, but deluxe rooms were good. Good breakfast and amazing helpful staff. The location is super convenient as well, so many restaurants, tram are within walking distance and ofcourse Sultanahmet square. Overall a very pleasing to experience. Definitely recommend it.
Great hotel and location
This hotel is located within walkable distance of all the landmarks (Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia etc). The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'll highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if I get a chance to go back.
Location, location, location. It makes a big difference if your are the center of gravity
Hotel situated in the heart of Sultan Ahmet area. Phenomenal view from the hotel balcony / breakfast bar. Everything is pretty on the doorstep and very kind friendly staff.
Best location in the Old City
Excellent location, great customer service and good breakfast selection. In walking distance to most major attractions, Tram station around the corner, terrace views were wonderful! Will gladly stay again.
The Hotel is everything they said they were. The staff were courteous, efficient, and friendly. The location and view were excellent. The room clean and functional.
We had a lovely stay at Lapis Inn. The room was basic but comfortable. The view from the terrace for breakfast is absolutely stunning and the location is perfect for sightseeing activities.
This hotel is located within walk-in distance to restaurants , the Grand Bazaar, the blue mosque and metro,
I stayed about 10 nights and it was okay. The location was amazing and the restaurant on top roof was very nice all modern and clean with panoramic view of the city. The rooms were so small, old and dirty. Shower was horrible. They are writing in the website that they have service to clean the room. But they didn’t. After one week of my stay a guy asked me if he should clean my room. I don’t really recommend it because there’s a lot other good locations in istanbul with better hotels.
The convenience of being close to everything made it so much more enjoyable.
very nice staff, great location reasonable rooms
Everything was perfect, except for the smell in our room but it was comfy.
Location is from an other world having breakfast view is wonderful staff are amazing and the hotel is very clean.
The people who working in the hotel is nice and helpful but the hotel is low rating like the refrigerator not working and other stuff. So my rating will be 3 from 5
I stayed at this hotel with my family for six nights, we all had a very pleasant experience. The hosts and the cleaning and catering staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel rooms were clean and had all of the facilities that we needed. The location of the hotel was great, all of the main attractions and restaurants that we wanted to visit were in walking distance. The view of some of the city's attractions from the terrace of the hotel was absolutely amazing. I would definitely consider staying at this Hotel again in the future if I visit Istanbul.
Otimo custo benefício
Localização excelente. Hospitalidade um dos pontos altos. Apenas o banheiro que é pequeno. Muito bom custo benefício.
Excellent stay!!
excellent location
excellent location
Some rooms better than others
Located in a great spot ,staff very friendly ,good clean room, superb view from the terrace, all touristic attractions are walking distance..
My mom and I had a great experience at Lapis Inn. I initially picked this hotel for its convenient location - at a walking distance from public transportation and many historical sites - but every staff member were delightful and eager to help! Thank you Selçuk and Ünal at the front desk. Bilda and the restaurant staff, your smiles brighten our days every morning. Would definitely stay there again.
Close to tram and Hagia Sophia and blue mosque
Property was good but a little small, very close to all attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again just for the friendly staff and good hospitality
I liked the location, close to everything, I didn't like 2 days out 7 days I stayed there there was not hot water. But overall the hotel location and the staff 5 stars all the way.
What a wonderful and beautiful hotel. Great location. AMAZING TERRACE!!! Delicious breakfast. Helpful staff. Our stay was wonderful. Thank you
Sehr gut war
Deluxe room was a wonderful upgrade
I loved this hotel, I shall make it my first option in Istanbul, great staff, beautiful room, house keeping lady is a wonderful lady, location is fantastic, breakfast is good enough for me, lovely terrace, tram stop is almost outside, can’t fault this place..
Good location hotel
Location very good, old city center, near to H. sofia blue mosque. Stuffs, Rashad and Selcuk are helpful and responding on time
Value for money, rooms were clean, the hotel is not new, staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast is ok. very close to all the sightseeing places.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful stuff
Great Place
This is my second stay and i must say that the service is wonderful. The rooms are wonderful. The beds are so comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive. The hotel is close to all attraction walking distance.
My husband and I highly recommend staying here. The staff is absolutely wonderful and considerate, the breakfast is amazing, the terrace has a great view and can be used at anytime to briefly escape city life. The hotel is located 1-2 minutes walking distance from huge attractions like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and is right next to the tram station, which is easy to use. There are also good restaurants and street food nearby. This hotel has great management, good airport transportation services, and comfortable rooms. Enjoy your stay!!
We had actually booked a different hotel but once we saw this one we decided to take a chance and cancel the previous reservation. I am so glad that we did and came here. Location: 11/10 You are across the street from the Haga Sofia and Blue Mosque and are almost on top of one of the copula domes of these magnificent structures. The Grand Bazaar is two stops away and Galata Tower is 4 stops. Great food, and shops are everywhere. Oh and that view!!!!! No words can describe how perfect that view was. Transport: 11/10 you are again, across the street from the tram (Sultunahmet stop), it's cheap and takes you everywhere you need. For foreigners you might need your hotel staff to assist with setting up your Istanbul Kart with your HES code. Due to Covid, they began using a travel card so now it's all digital. Hospitality: 11/10. In the U.S. hospitality is fair (where I'm from), of course I've never been able to afford luxury stays so I couldn't say what that service is like. But when I tell you they treat you like royalty/family here, I'm not even joking. Our receptionist staff welcomed us with the most amazing apple tea (after 48 hrs of travelling, it was more than needed and appreciated. We're not even tea drinkers!) They helped us book excursions and flights to Cappadocia and Ephesus. The cleaning and kitchen staff were lovely. I think the only bad thing I can say about the service is that they spoiled us haha I can't wait to return to Istanbul and stay at the Lapis Inn!
I am so happy we picked this hotel, there are so many options as we looked through all the different booking websites and honestly this one doesn't do itself justice. It had a mom and pop feel with modern amenities. The location was right next to public transit which made it super easy to explore the city, while at the same time being about a 3 minute walk from the blue mosque and Hagia Sofia, 7 minutes from the grand bazaar and about a 8 minute walk from several museums including the topkopi palace (which are all must sees). The gentlemen at the front desk who checked us in was so sweet and gave us a ton of information about the area, while the manager was also super helpful and gave us contact for when we wanted to travel through other locations through turkey. we are already planning our trip back to Istanbul again and are planning to stay in the same hotel. they definitely made me not regret spending so much time looking for a hotel.
The service is very good, staff are very helpful and very friendly. The hotel is in the area that you can go to everything you want to see and visit. Do not forget the terrace at the roof of the hotel. The breakfast at the terrace and we had a take out food from outside and we enjoyed it on the terrace with an unforgettable scenery dinner with the Aya Sofia Mosque lights shining. A good hotel with good transportation to get connected with the metro,Busses and taxi. Meeting freindly people that welcome you when they see you. I'm havinng a nice trip till now, I' planning for another visit. THANK YOU LAPIS IN SULTAN AHMAD. ISTANBUL.
As a solo traveler and first time in turkey, I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was warmly welcomed from check-in to check-out. The staff (Selcuk and Unal) were really professional, friendly, helpful, dedicated to giving you great service and making you feel at home. They treat you like a family and are there 24/7 to answer your questions. The room was comfortable and clean. This hotel is located in the center of all major touristic attractions a walking distance from Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and Topkabi Palace. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this property. You will love it!!!! Can't wait to come back on my next trip to Istanbul. Thank you for making my stay beyond beautiful. Hana Elmi. USA
I received a fantastic response from Reception staff, especially Rashid who basically assisted in a way that's unheard of all over the world where i have stayed. I lost my wallet and phone outside the hotel during my stay and the support i received from both Rashid and Salik was brilliant and outstanding. 5 stars rating for their assistance during a very stressful time when i had no one to ask for help during my stay. Thank you Rashid and thank you everyone else. You guys saved me
The hotel is small, cozy and staff super friendly . Nothing luxurious at all but perfect for those looking for a quite stay still in a busy area . I recommend booking the deluxe room which is more spacious and still really inexpensive
Wonderful staff Selchuk and Reshad help us with everything we needs, attending to all our questions and needs 24/7.they let us feel like we were at home.Very friendly Begum from the breakfast to the cleaning lady. The hotel is on the heart of everything The location to enjoy the old city could not be better Restaurants are close outside the door. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to all the staff😍
Recommended for solo travellers
Hotel location 11/10 Hotel staff 9/10 Hotel terrace view 10/10 Hotel condition 7.5/10 Hotel cleanliness 7/10
The location is next to all attractions including the blue mosque,Ayasofia ,Grand bazaar and Topkapi .Restaurants and shops also next to the hotel .The room is comfortable, clean and staff are polite.
Wonderful hotel. On the heart of everything. Restaurants are close by seriously right outside the door. Very friendly and attentive staff. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend this hotel.
The LAPIS INN hotel too me became part of the memory and experience itself during our stay in Istanbul as we were so warmly welcomed from check-in to check-out during our week stay in Turkey that made my Friend & I feel like we were at home. The hotel exceeded all my expectations with all staff treating us as Family, attending to all our questions and needs 24/7. It’s central location gave us easy convenient access to tourists attractions, city rail, local markets, and dining. The hotel offers a indoor/outdoor terrace on the 5th Floor with breathtaking panorama views of the city including Hagia Sophia served with complimentary breakfast in the morning. We also ate up there almost every night for dinner when getting takeout. Honestly can’t thank the staff enough for providing a safe environment, discounted rates for our extended nights, free large bottle waters, complimentary hot tea/coffee in the room or made fresh in the Lobby with conversation, routine cleaning of our rooms while we were eating breakfast in the morning for our convenience, and exceptional warm/friendly hospitality. Will definitely be returning back to the LAPIS INN hotel for our next visit to Istanbul, Turkey! - Robert, USA
Super stay. Would definitely come back.
Very friendly and professional staff. Perfect location with many things to see a few steps away. Room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Nice to have street car just around the corner. Lovely to be able to sit on roof deck with a cup of tea and enjoy the view, then cross the street and find a bench between Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque.
Great Choice, Location and Value in Sultanahmet
I had a wonderful stay. After booking for a few days, I extended for another week. I'll definitely be back. The location to enjoy the old city could not be better. Imagine sitting on the roof deck every morning looking at the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque and watching ships head up the Bosphorus as you enjoy breakfast, listening to the call to prayers. The staff (everybody and especially Resat and Selcuk) were very helpful and friendly. The room was perfectly clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom clean. Plenty of hot water. Most of Istanbul's major sights and museums are within a two or three minute walk. Also a T1 tram stop within 20 meters to get down to Spice Market and/or cross Golden Horn over to Galata. Dozens of enjoyable restaurants steps away.
Great place to stay, very close to all attractions, breakfast on terrace is so amazing with beautiful view. Very central location, staff is so friendly and speak good English. Highly recommend
It was an amazing stay, all the staff were great especially Resat make our stay very comfortable, Resat was the best customer service and hospitality, when we check in he welcomed us and the check out too, thank you Resat and also I would like to mention Guven and Selchuk and the ladies😘😘😘
I already reviewed this place. Stayed almost 8 days. Would highly recommend.
The staff was great, very helpful and super professional. Always greeted with smile and tasty Turkish tea. Location that right next Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and main palace. 3-4 minute walk to Grand Bazaar. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable; AC and heater worked great.
Amazing Hotel with great customer service. They always try their best to make us happy . I love the view form up stairs to take photos to Hagia Sofia and sultan Ahmed mosque
Lapis Inn a precious gem hotel and spa
Great property, centrally located next to all major sights with a short walk less than 5 minutes to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Cistern. Hotel has elevator, and a spa on site. Large spacious comfy rooms, generously appointed bathrooms with overhead rain shower. Arriving for my stay oh, the night of the election in the USA they ensured that I had a television with access to CNN to be able to watch the results of the election. Tremendously accommodating staff, helpful with any problems and the delicious breakfast make this hotel a complete pleasure and joy to stay at. Immediately out the front door it was a wide choice of restaurants and shopping opportunities available. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this property it is a Hidden Gem. .
Enjoyed their breakfast
The hotel is so close to big attractions like Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque and Palace. Their breakfast is very nice.
Very friendly staff, they are doing their best to be honest.
The location of the Lapis Inn was absolutely perfect, it was literally on the doorstep of the Blue Mosque and Ayasofya and very central to all the restaurants and tourist attractions such as the Grand Bazaar and Top kapi palace and only a minute walk to the tram stop. The hotel staff were the friendliest, most helpful people I have ever met. The hotel receptionists were extremely helpful and went above and beyond for recommendations and help. We were able to keep our suitcases in the hotel after checkout as we had a late flight and they ordered a taxi to the hotel for us. Although the room was a little small, it was perfect for myself and my husband as we were out for most of the day, it was very clean and tidy. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be staying here again on our next trip back to Istanbul.
Clean comfortable and central hotel.Amazing view from rooftop where breakfast is served.Staff is always eager to assist the guests.Highly recommend this cozy hotel..
This has to be hands-down the best low-cost hotel we stayed at ever. Exceptional service from the staff, this hotel provides shuttle service from and to the airport. The morning breakfast that starts at 7:30 a.m. was very good. Many items you don't see on other hot breakfast menus. I'm sure it changes daily, but we were happy to see the wide selection of the buffet they had every morning until 10:30 a.m. The rooms were very clean, i really enjoyed the fantastic water pressure. This was our first booking, we expect to use them the next time we fly out of SeaTac. the two way shuttle was 85 euros from and to IST airport.
The location is great, just next to the train station. Staffs are friendly and helpful!
Pro's-The staff was the best part of this hotel, they go above and beyond, they are extremely nice and caring. The location is also great directly across from the major sites. The breakfast is great and amazing roof top views. Con's-The first room we were given was tiny, i couldnt open my luggage it was so small. It smelled like smoke, the ac didnt work and it was dirty. The next morning i asked for a different room they gave me a large amazing room unfortunately the ac didnt work, so they switched us into a room where the ac was blowing unfortunately it wasnt blowing very cold and the cable wasnt working...also the worst part the shower had a big clob of long black hair and black hair on most of the towels, I didnt want to shower until the maid came, she came and unfortunately the hair was still there. Very gross and very alarming timing about the low level of cleanliness. Also we picked this hotel over much nicer hotels because the listing and site says they have a laundry service, washer and dryer. When we asked about it they said they don't have laundry but can find a place that was highly disappointing and we had to go home with a luggage full of dirty clothes gross. They also she pictjres of a bar and sah there is a 24 rooftop restaurant when we went to the bar its lights out never opened and at 9pm all the lights were off on the rooftop...could be due to covid, shouldve mentioned it so that we wouldnt expect it.
The staff at the hotel were so nice and helpful, amazing cakes, lovely brekfast every morning at the terrace, just a walking distant to hagia Sophia, blue mosque, 15 minutes to gran bazaar and the rest, bathroom a need a bit tlc but nothing to worry about. Just love it!!
Location, location, location. The hotel is jist across the Blue mosque in the heart of Sultanahmet area. Easy to get anywhere via tram. Staff is AMAZING. Warm welcoming and helpful. There for all the questions tjat you may have. Reshat is exceptional and delivers outstanding customer service. The kitchen staff are very friendly as well. Last but not least the rooftop terrace. The view from that terrace is very beautiful and I enjoyed having my coffee there. I will deffinetely come and visit again. Istanbul was quite a positive experience.
It was amazing! Location was central, views from the terrace was absolutely stunning on the right you could see the blue mosque on the left you could see Hagia Sophia and the Bosphorus. We booked the triple room with 3 single beds and I do have to say we hade ample space nice big rooms (old city usually have small cramped rooms). Okan helped us with our luggage to our room and to the taxi when we left. Most hotels don’t really assist you with that. Staff spoke English which was an extra bonus, all in all amazing hotel with amazing staff. Would definitely recommend and will be staying there again on my next visit.

There was contration too much noise I couldn't sleep
