Good size room looking onto the garden - a relaxing place to spend a few days

Quiet and peaceful this individual property offers a comfortable stay in lovely surroundings. Close to the town centre, with many places to eat and beautiful Geographe Bay, we would stay again and recommend to others. Just be aware that breakfast is BYO, with a toaster and coffee machine in the communal lounge and a microwave, crockery and cutlery in the bedrooms.

Lovely atmosphere and not sterile like most hotels. There was a pod machine for coffee in the common area and filtered water available which was appreciated. The Bed was supper comfortable and the spa was amazing after walking all day. Room was massive with a decent couch and a small cafe table and chairs and a private balcony.

We would stay again.

Everything good except check in was clunky. Arranged to arrive after hours and collected directions to room, except the room allocated was already occupied. Couldn’t contact host as his phone was turned off, so after waiting in lounge room for an hour, I ended up just finding a vacant room and crashing in there for the night. Great value property, just frustrating at check in!

We had passed this property a few times on previous stays in that area. This time we were lucky to find it available for our Sandman50 weekend. Our room although up some stairs was perfect as we wouldn't disturb other guests as we had a 2am start and the room was huge, everything worked, my wife loved the shower and I fully appreciated the spa after my race. Would love to stay again.

Met Serge briefly on Friday night, was warmly welcomed and found the property to be as good as expected, close walk to town, nice area, good facilities.

Friendly welcome. Useful and practical local knowledge shared in the information package. Large bedroom and bathroom. Original art works throughout the property. Easy access to our room from the lovely wisteria covered verandah. Ample parking.

We had high hopes for our stay based other reviews, sadly we jokingly took to calling this accommodation 'dusty lanterns' aside from needing a deep clean our fridge did not work properly hence much food was spoilt before management suggested the fridge in guest lounge. Supplies were not replenished in guest areas, rubbish was slow to be removed etc if it wasn't for the location or the pool we'd have left early. Such as shame as it's looks like it was clearly once a much loved destination.

Not enough stars. On a scale of 1 to 5, it is 8 or 9. Spectacular suite full of beautiful antique furniture. Beautiful artwork everywhere (many painted by the owner who is a talented artist). Every imaginable facility.

Very pleasant stay.

Great location and we loved the quiet and the garden views. Very comfortable bed and quality furnishings. Spacious room and bathroom and access to the common areas- lounge and kitchenette. Very convenient for exploring the Margaret River region. Only thing that needs attending to is a good clean of the shower screen and runner at the bottom.

Fantastic value, hosts very welcoming, large spacious room with great spa bath. Bonus mini bar and fridge, lovely communal lounge area, pool bbq, very close to everything in Dunsborough. Will be staying again 😊

We had the spa suite, really elegant. The shared lounge area is a great idea.

Lovely Lanterns

Fantastic stay at Lanterns. Great room with outside space. Spotlessly clean. Serge met us on arrival and was a gracious host. Great location for checking out some fantastic beaches at Meelup and Bunker Bay plus sunsets at Yallingup.

This was our third visit to the beautiful Lanterns Retreat. It was just as good as previously, our room was lovely and the facilities exactly what we expected.

Really lovely property, common areas beautifully presented, room was clean, light and comfortable with huge bathroom. Close enough to town to walk if you want to drink. Can see ourselves staying here regularly.

Loved the large room and bathroom double basins and the huge spa . We only stayed one night but will defiantly go back .

The environment created at this lodge can be felt as soon as you are welcomed at the door. I felt the weight of the world disappear walking into the residence & Surge made the check in quick and easy and was very welcoming. My room was nice and roomy and the bathroom was huge. Thoroughly recommend!

Well furnished and spacious room and bathroom. All the amenities were of an excellent standard. The owner has obviously put a lot of thought and care into the style and quality of the whole property.

This place is the older style house but it is excellent ...The rooms are nice and big and the furniture is beautiful...I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a cosy getaway...EXCELLENT

Nice and quiet

One night get a way

One night stay to attend a family wedding. Absolute fabulous room (large size), very clean, comfy bed (kingsize) beautiful bathroom with shower and bath. Coffee & tea making facilities in room also bar fridge. Retreat is close to Dunsborough's shopping/ restaurant precinct & beach. Serge gave us a very warm welcome and showed us around. Private adults only retreat, would definitely stay again and recommend this place!!! (very soon and longer!)

A treat on all the senses!

The place was stunning. It was beautiful on all senses- it looked good, sounded good, smelled good- the bed had beautiful luxurious sheets so it felt good and the port they gave complimentary tasted good! The garden was tranquil a d the whole atmosphere was perfect. The host, Serg was very warm and welcoming and I would not hesitate the recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back!

Great service in a quiet place, it was just what we needed. We got up early to go take photos at Sugarloaf Rock and didn't feel as though we were disturbing anyone leaving at 4.30am. Will definitely stay here again when staying in Dunsborough!
