Property needs a good clean and paint job. Ice box in fridge desperately needs defrosting.

The location is excellent- the property itself is very old and rundown, but comfortable. We regarded it like an old Kiwi bach (we are Kiwis) rustic, but comfortable in it's own way. Reasonably priced for Queenstown!

Great location

Noisiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in

Very noisy room, booked 2 nights but only stayed one. a lot of street traffic all through the night (Sunday night at 1am was still busy) and it was a hot night and the rooms have no fans or air conditioning so we had to have the windows open, which made the traffic noise worse. Plus at the back of the hotel is a back packers Accom, and they were partying across the road directly below our room all night. Great location and great view, just don’t expect to sleep.

Great location….easy walk to town. However the property is old and badly needs updating. Only a key lock on door….no deadbolt….room was very noisy due to proximity to street. Lost power in the room the morning of our departure.

Good Location

Big older style 2 bedroom apartment. Comfy beds and a lovely view but could be a bit cleaner. Very nice staff.

The motel is a short walk from the centre of town and an even shorter walk from the lake. On the ground floor the view is blocked by a hedge so book an upper floor if you can. It is on a main road, an issue for a light sleeper like me but my husband was fine with it. All the other motels we used had a coffee press and we missed that

Hotel is older and facilities are a bit dated, but good-sized room (with a nice balcony overlooking the lake) and clean. Very pricy, but that should be expected for Queenstown during the Christmas season. Excellent location across the street from the lake and short walk to central Queenstown.

Amazing location, but ..........

The best part about this place is the location. Right on the lake, fab views, also decent price. But very, very noisy from the road. Room windows so badly insulated that even the sparrows chirping loud! Some simple maintenance would fix this.

Excellent staff, Convenient location, jut 7 min walk to the city, Parking was great just outside the hotel. We cooked most of our meals here The overall hotel is a bit dated but it served our purpose cant complain. To the hotel management, please defrost the fridge, provide proper pots,pans and cutlery in your kitchen

This was a last minute booking and a room was ready. Great views, hot shower, the tv worked. I could walk everywhere, it has onsite parking. The stairs could really do with some maintenance or even replaced with something safer.

Great location. Road noise was quite loud and people walking past at all hours. Also curtains pulled having a nap in the arvo and housekeeping bashes on the door then walks in, there was no do not disturb tag to hang on the door

Quick stay in QT

just one night stay. location is great. right in front of the lake wakatipu in QT. A small kitchenette comes handy to cook or warm up food. Water pressure is good. We stayed on the ground floor, so the window in the bathroom is not suitable to be open as motel's workers walk pass through the hallway frequently. No privacy.

Two power point sockets were loose and hanging - dangerous. Light bulb hanging out of socket. Toothbrush (not mine) left on floor under TV table. Windows covered in hand prints. Kitchen area smelt musty.

Although the property is looking a bit tired, it was clean and suitable for us. Great view of the lake and an easy walk to shops and dining options. I would stay here again.

This place just needs a bulldozer put though it. Luckily the only clean things were the towels and the sheets. Blood on the chair, hair in the shower. Only frosted glass in the bathrooms so the backpackers can basically see though. Woman turn the light off in the bathroom when you shower. Door to the communal deck broken so you had to lock it from the outside then pull shut. For $300 a night disgusting. The timber doors etc dirty and kitchen from the 70s. One electrical cord not properly insulated so who know when the last fire and safety check was done.

Lovely view of the lake from our balcony, large room with kitchen plus good-sized bath area, friendly staff, very easy walk to center of downtown activity, good value.

My stay was excellent. I messed up and thought I had booked for 3 nights. Oops, only 2! They handled it very professionally and pleasantly. The location is perfect for wandering about town. Just park your car and leave it!

Simple but covered all bases

Probably one of the better value for money places in town. The location is amazing with it being just a 100 meters from downtown. Ample parking onsite and large rooms. It's not flash but who needs that when what you are looking for is an amazing view and a comfy bed. Again....it's not flash but it is clean, friendly reception and it has killer viewsmn

This property is close to town which was very handy and the view was great. However, the kitchen area looked like a 1960s kitchen i.e very dated. Bathroom had a weird sour smell that didnt go away and was quite off-putting. Didnt feel very secure with the door locks either. Lighting at the back door at night was very poor. Smoke alarm was missing and was reported to reception who did not replace it. Surely illegal not to have smoke alarm in room.

Check in was good, it went down hill from there cleaning of the room could be better empty gin bottle left by last occupancy, had no TV due to no power cord, rang and asked as no one was on-site and was told a cord would be dropped off, it never happened, last time I will stay here.

Great to be beside the lake so close to town.

Stayed in October 2023. Very basic accommodation, had microwave, kettle, cooktop, but microwave was precariously placed in kitchenette. Our particular room was very close to the street and the footpath, the lock on the door was about the quality you’d except on a bathroom door in a house, really needs a deadlock or something. Very noisy. Blankets were not clean, overall cheap feel nothing in great condition.

The location and view were superb, the only downside was that the balconies weren’t private ie one long undivided open balcony ran across the whole floor. The apartment though was lovely and the staff very helpful .

Basic motel, very clean, staff helpful. Walking distance to town

This property requires a makeover. The door to our unit was water damaged due to blocked drainage that needed repair. The ageing cooker was smelly and needed replacing. Single glazed windows did not keep out traffic noise. A floodlight designed to illuminate the building illuminated our room at night. Great location and lake views.

Most of it was ok but the structure is quite old and there are no stairs. There is no heatpump/AC unit but relies on an electric wall plug and warm blankets to keep the place warm. The views from the balcony are outstanding. Check out time is quite strict though (compared to others where it isnt an issue). I think if they spent some money on upgrades it would be well worth the money but at this stage i wouldnt recommend for the price.

I would like to give a huge thanks to the team at this motel. This was a last minute booking, and when I arrived, they told me that they had tried to contact me to advise that they had no rooms. While waiting outside, in the cold, they came and found me to advise that they had a sister site down the road, that they would find a room for me. Turned out to be much bigger and right in the middle of town. Thank you to the team at Lakeside Motel and Lofts Apartments. You saved me.

Great traditional breezblock Motel in great location and with gret views

Only a short walk from Queenstown center. Lake view even from the ground floor. Beds equipped with electric heaters. Electric heater on the wall will dry any clothes in minutes.

This place has everything you need for a short trip in my opinion, I liked having a fridge and a microwave and some cooking utensils, a proper bathroom door that has a lock, hot water, and the view was a bonus. The biggest downside for me was the room reeked of bleach (from being cleaned before us I'm assuming) and needed to be aired out for most of the day which isn't great in such cold weather but not a huge deal. No room service other than towel replacements but that isn't a priority for me.

It has a beautiful view facing the lake through window. You can cook simple food and the shower room is very big. The bedroom is clean and tidy. The price for the room is very reasonable.

An older hotel thats been updated right on the lake. Clean, fresh paint, fresh towels, great staff and all this for a fair price right on the lake with a view from every room. A exceptionalvalue.

Very disappointed, not a safe vibe

We only stay one night however that seem to long as we was so disappointed with this place. We was not expecting anything more than a clean and safe room however we did not feel comfortable with what was offered. We had booked a motel room. On way to the room we noice they used the gest towel as door Matt's outside the rooms to soke up water that was running down the passageway. When we got to our room we found that window in the door had been boarded up, note no warning at check-in to explain, we also notice the lock hanging off. The cooking facilities look like they never been cleaned. The main room was over crowded with items of furniture and everything seem old and grubby. For the cost we was disappnted. We looked to move but queen's town was busy and the place was full so we opted to make do and left at 4am as we could not rest.

The newly updated bathroom was very efficent and sparkeling clean. Overall the property is quite old and the exterior boarders on shabby. But the location can't be beat.

The hotel was supposed to close at 7pm I arrived at 6 pm they were just closing, I would have to ring a number to open a little safe to get my key, I don’t have a NZ phone… the outside of the building looked shabby but inside was clean..

The location of the property was fabulous. It was a quick walk into town and eating district. However, the accommodation was not clean, the rooms were not serviced, and there were staff sweeping endlessly which seemed fruitless when there was so much more to attend to

Only thing good was the location, right opposite the lake and only 2min walk into town, the room itself was ok size but the place was dirty rubbish under couches benches and between cupboards and shelves. Most of the crockery and utensils were dirty and needed washing before we used them, fry pan had oil and grease still in it. mould and dust around windows and doors, had access to the balcony but no seating. multiple damage to walls, one couch was broken and sank to the middle. no AC or fans, limited onsite parking

Great location, handy to town and good view from the second floor. Not enough car parks. Very dated interior apart from the bathroom. Shower was faulty and big crack in hand basin.

Beds were comfortable, looked very new and sheets were very clean. Same with the bathroom. Down side was that the radiator didnt work (replaced by 2x heaters in the room) and there was a big patch of mould by the door on the left. Other wise, great location at a few mins walk into town and awesome view out of the apartment.

Amazing view, friendly reception, great location, functional, but very basic. Could use updating and better cleaning in bathrooms and windows (mould around frames due to condensation).

Only stayed one night, Sept 26, 2022. Great location and convenient. However, the property is old. Heating system is old. Provided external/mobile heaters. Keeping the mobile heaters in a proper place was a challenge. It has to be plugged and at the same time it should not interfere with one's walkway. I was given a room in the ground floor. Since, it is next to the road, it was noisy. Less privacy, since the only glass viewable area is located towards the road.

Won't Stay Here Again

Positives - good view of the lake and walking distance to town. Negatives - electric blankets didn’t work, room only had a oil column heater which was not adequate, kitchen was very old but everything did work, replacement towels/face cloth etc were just left inside the door not folded up nicely, I had an adjoining room and could clearly hear the people next door being intimate, loud enough that it woke me up. Worse part is the photos didn’t represent my room.

Great position to lake and town area. Unit has a modern bathroom but the rest could do with renovating and would also benefit from double glazing to cut down the road noise.

The heater in the bedroom was working properly and the one in lounge fan was making terrible noise. Had to ask reception numerous time to get another heater. especially when you have a family with 5 yr old in middle of winter. No electric blankets The bathroom had no extractor fan and had to open the windows while having shower and the windows open on the common corridor. The kitchen had smell and didn't feel like making coffee. TV wasn't working and had to call the maintenance guy to fix. I wont stay here or recommend any one. All overall the only good thing was the maintenance guy turning up with heater at around 9 or 10m once we were in bed.

Old building in concrete block. Too cold to be in during Queenstown winters. Not cleaned properly.

The room had not been cleaned properly. Lamp broken. Cold old building. uncomfortable bed and bad pillows. Not staying here again.....

Room fittings and fixtures generally old and shabby. Shower door leaked badly leaving big puddle on bathroom floor. Very comfortable bed.

Stunning location.

Truly is Lakeside which is amazing for views. Just a busy road to cross to the lake. Was disappointed in condition of unit though... window latch was broken and not replaced so we couldn't shut window onto shared balcony = security risk. The bsthroom door was difficult to close without it falling open also Some simple maintenance is needed.

Comfortable stay. On main road but traffic noise was not a problem. 5 mins to walk to restaurants and bars. Has heater and electric blankets. Needs upgrade but stay was pleasant

Queenstown visit

Helpful staff. Fridge wouldn't go so staff brought a new one. I am sure if we had told him that one side of the electric blanket didn't go, he would have brought a new one,! I like these motels but wish they would paint the kitchen area and entry door.

Great, quiet location just by the lake! Affordable for good-sized rooms with good beds but could be done up with style.

The Motel is very centrally situated with easy walking distance to the city center. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering. Bathroom nice and modern and serviced daily. The view from the room was just amazing. Overall has a great stay thanks.

Fantastic location.

This property was cheap and the location was fantastic an easy 7 min walk to the main shops and restaurant. The beds were average. They need to purchase working heaters but as i said cant go past the price.

Loved the location of the property . Very accommodating staff. Clean and tidy unit. My main complaint is that it was cold. I only had a oil heater to heat the room and took several hours to warm up so we sat under the blankets to watch tv

The view was fantastic as was the location. We think that a privacy screen between each room on the balcony would be a great improvement.
