As reported there above
I love this place, always.
Services were good
Furniture, Aircon, bathrooms need refurbishment
Very relaxing environment, and very clean
I booked 2 weeks in advance but was Made to wait over half an hour to ready our rooms even though we only arrived at the hotel at 1600hrs. Miscommunication by hotel on Golf Course access resulted in me booking and traveling over 8hrs (one way) only to find out that there is a competition on and course is booked, even after I specifically asked this before booking. Had correct information been given, I would have planned my trip on a different date. Overall disappointing in comparison to previous stays at Serena. Only positive is that certain staff showed usual helpfulness and friendly atmosphere, while others not so much
The place is quite , clean Only some of tools and other materials need change Lock card is poor quality

This hotel has no ATM Machine. UBER service is generally unavailable in this area. ATM machines within 10min of the Hotel provide limited currency withdrawal. Purchasing a local SIM requires travel to distant places in order to get connected. Facebook does not work properly in the hotel
So far , so geat‼️ Please do not coerce me into writing more than I chose to or I won’t reply st all.
Beautiful grounds, great view of Lake Victoria. Spa was wonderful, food great.
This property is an absolute treat! The facility is beautiful, the restaurants are very good, the spa is lovely, the gym is spot on......! We love this place and will definitely be back!!
Super service and super relaxed but condition 0
Service was magnificent, workers the best, but the condition of the room was 2 Star to me,the shower room,am really sorry but I was in shock, couldn’t believe it was 5 Star
Great hotel but...
Good hotel. Breakfast is a let down though compared to Kampala serena .( this has been the case for years. This time round Paid for deluxe room and got joined twin beds ( not what i paid for really) . It’s a great hotel , management just need to change their attitude on service delivery . When you pay $220 you expect to get your money’s worth. Not a watered service .
Disappointment
There was a confusion during my check in. I was told by receptionist that hotel reservation team didn't pick up my reservation from Expedia. So, I had to wait when it was finally done. Just try to imagine I booked hotel 10 days in advance!!! So, reservation team couldn't do it within 10 days before my arrival. As a result of this obvious mistake I was given the room in the lowest block allocated very far from main facilities and definitely with the worst view. However, I was told that I'll be moved to the better block and room with better view the next dat after some guests would checked out. It never happened. When I was checking out I asked the same receptionist why I wasn't moved to other room as was promised. I was tod - sorry, we had a wedding....:-))) I wanted to ask, does it mean that you didn't know about the wedding event in your Facilities the day before when you promised to move me to the better room??? I had a problems to get connected to wifi cuz my last name was input in the system with error. So, hotel IT Manager interference was required to solve this issue. Finally it was done. The electrical power card switch at the.room entrance was faulty. So, when I returned back to my room in the evening I was not capable to put on the lite in the room and I had to call to reception for assistance. When Finally one employee arrived to help me, he explained that this switch has a problem and I need to insert the card in a special way pushing it out of the wall..
Oasis in the desert (so to speak).
Generally amazing! Food not so great! Service hit and miss! A few of the staff (young James, for example, top class!) some of the staff, mainly female, could have been more forthcoming. A smile here and there goes a long way!
Hotel needs an up grade
The room smelled like mold the curtains . Were old and dirty. As well as the closets. The staff was very nice. The electricity kept going out numerous times that was very frustrating. The rooms need to be upgraded or the curtains need to be washed a few times a year
Nice rooms
Getting to the hotel is not fun but when you reach, place is great. Reception was warm and welcoming. The ambience is just marvelous. Will be back
Nice hotel but terrible stuff
Stayed for 3 nights waited to check in for more than two hours. Really surprised by the incompetence of the stuff. Great food and beautiful hotel but the stuff kind of ruined it
Lovely hotel
A five star hotel. Great food And service. We really enjoyed the spa and the pool area. A perfect place to unwind.
Beautiful hotel with a few difficulties
A beautiful hotel in lovely, peaceful surroundings. Lovely pool, steam room and sauna. Reasonably priced treatments in the spa. Welcoming and courteous staff. Food reasonably prices and very tasty. Drinks also very reasonably priced. The bed looked beautiful but was rather hard. My only complaint was that there was no WiFi which I had been depending on, and no explanation about why this was in spite of several calls to reception. There was a also no hot water. I complained in the morning and was spoken to very courteously by the manager who was very apologetic. As the room was very expensive I asked for a reduction in price which he could not give apparently as I had booked through Expedia. I asked to have my modest food bill waived. He offered to waive half of it but I asked him for a compete waiver. He agreed without hesitation. So, overall a good experience and I would recommend the hotel to other travellers.
I had an excellent stay at your hotel. My overall rating is excellent . Telar Deng
Sunshine and happiness
Pool was amazing, lunch at the marina was stunning and a round of golf made it extra special followed by a nice massage!
The place was very nice but the food was not nice at all and to expensive we tried different kind of foods but it was all the same and the drinks where also expensive would I tell a friend about the place yes I would but I will also tell them about the food experience
A little out of the way, but worth it!
This is a lovely resort with decent food and a wonderful spa. Food and spa prices are an excellent value. The road to turn off of the Kampala-Entebbe Hwy is not well marked. We found it by asking a local who told us to turn at the Fuel-Ex station and there we found a small sign regarding the Serena schools in the area with a very small blurb at the bottom for the resort. We passed by it 3 times because it is very hard to spot. You will drive down a very long dirt road through villages, thinking "this can't be the right way", but it is. The resort appears and you are transported to another world. We drove from Kenya where we live, so it was a long way to travel and thank goodness we were very pleased when we finally got there!
Excellent Property. Great for relaxing weekend.
Great resort once you get there. The 5 kilometer stretch just before the resort is rough. We did not get the requested wake up call and nobody came to room to help with bags as was some distance from front desk and raining. Excellent property and good food selection and quality. Very nice rooms.
Excellent hotel
We really enjoyed the amazing pool and great rooms. Food and restaurant mediocre.
Oasis
Amazing pool, gardens, view it's an oasis of calm luxury.
Amazing resort
It's a wonderful resort, good food and comfortable rooms. Internet access could be better though!
Nice view of the lake
The nicest place I have stayed in Kampala but 5 km off the main road down a alley without much around it, couldn't go shopping.
Peaceful Stay
Peaceful and very relaxing with a beautiful garden
Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel pool is amazing, the staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, and the spa is a really great deal (from CAD or USD). I didn't go immediately outside of the hotel grounds; it was not in a city centre/didn't seem like too much to walk to.
Beautiful, but much too far
Beautiful property, that is still a work in progress, but much too far from the city center to make it anything more than a conference destination. Practically need a 4x4 to navigate the final 5+ kilometers over unpaved, bumpy terrain.
Two friends on a long weekend
We picked the hotel for a long weekend in Uganda and could not be more pleased. The hotel is new and very clean with excellent service. It is located about 5 miles off Entebbe Road so feels quite remote but when the new highway to Entebe is completed, it will be much easier to reach with a nearby exit. The food was of high quality and good choices and very affordable. We also give high marks to the spa and would recommend you make time for a treatment or two during your stay. The Internet was not as consistent as we had expected but the staff responded quickly to try to give us better service.
Lake Victoria Serena Hotel Review
We loved the hotel and its setting and even played golf at its brand new course on the shores of Lake Victoria. But the service, especially at the pool and in the restaurant, was very poor.
Lake Victoria Serena Aug 2015
This is a superb place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant served good food and the overall standaqrd ws excellent. We'll be back one day.
A most enjoyable stay
Excellent stay. Felt well looked after and the staff were really great. I've been and stayed at the Serena in Kamala - but overall I found that the food, service and overall atmosphere at this hotel was far better.
Superb Home in Africa
This hotel was absolutely brilliant. The location was easily accessible and had breath taking view of the lake especially in the mornings or at sun set. The staff was super friendly and forever helpful. This was definitely worth the money and more. Would go back anytime.
business trip kapala / entebbe
The only downside is the 4 km dirt road to get there. OK if you are use to Africa but fresh from overseas it can be a little bit nerve racking
The most perfect hotel
Our stay at this hotel was perfect, we had best views of lake Victoria, rooms were great, service was wonderful. The only criticism we had was the road to the hotel which we believe will get a resurface soon. If you want a relaxing perfect view stay then this hotel is for you!
Excellent Hotel / A Few Quibbles
Hotel is not really close to the airport or anything else. I had a very relaxing stay. Masseuse was very good -- but there needs to be better background music (not a clicking clock or polka) and fragrance. Easy to fix! Pool was fantastic.
Hidden Gem
The hotel is a very nice hotel. It's just a little hidden. Overall it is very nice place to stay.
Nice, but not organized
My family had an interesting experience at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort. When we arrived, they claimed a mix up with our room and we waited in the lobby for 45 minutes while they found us a room. After getting into our room, unpacking, showering, a man walked in and said "what the hell are you people doing in my room?" Sure enough, the hotel staff put us in an occupied room. The front desk staff knew what happened before i even had a chance to explain, clearly they werent sure whether the room was occupied and figured they'd stick us in it anyway. The Duty Manager made good though and gave us an upgraded room and bottle of wine for the embarrassment of someone walking in on my wife changing. It is a nice facility. The staff was courteous, but at the end of the day... TIA.
Nice facilities; service lacking
This hotel overlooks, but is not really on Lake Victoria. It is between Kampala and Entebbe, which can be good or bad. There is nothing else close to the property, so you are either stuck on the hotel grounds or have to get a ride down long dirt road to get anywhere. Facilities are very nice. Rooms are well appointed with one notable exception- no clocks. With no clocks, wake up calls become important. They offer them, but I did not get mine two separate days. Service from staff is poor. Besides failing to make the wake up call twice, wait staff has wildly vary degrees of personal hygiene (yes, some wreak of BO), wait staff is slow to respond and often does half a job. When talking to the staff, they talk as if are eager to please, but actions just do not follow. They seem to want to be on a high level of service, but just do not make it there. The breakfast was spotty as well. Some days, everything was laid out, some days it was not (the hot items- eggs, sausage, etc). Finally, on my trip, there was an Indian engagement/wedding party- 3 day affair. One night, their outdoor party music was so loud, it kept me up most of the night. Nothing the hotel could/would do about it.
Beautiful hotel but located at the end of a very long, bumpy dirt road. There were no signs and we thought our driver was totally lost. Once we arrived at the resort, everything was lovely. Very nice rooms and good food and service.
Nice place to go.
Keine Badewanne in Standart Zimmern.
Some problems to begin - but they got it right.
After a rocky start during the first of 4 days at this hotel, we got all the attention adn service we wanted. Great reaction of hotel management to early and true complaints - and great service for the remaining 3 days. Kids loved the pool and playground, we loved the gardens and setting, and the whole family loved the food. Highly recommended.

Consideration of late check-out for golf player
Most of the facilities and services were satisfactory, but the hotel lacked consideration for golf players regarding check-out times. Even if start playing golf at 7 am when the golf course opens, at least 4 hours of play time is needed and extra 1 hour for showering and check-out preparation, but I was asked to check out at 10 am, and even if late check-out was allowed, I was asked to check out by 11:30 am at the latest. I think this is because the hotel, (they say 'Golf Resort'), does not understand the nature of the game of golf, and I hope this will be corrected in the future.
