Fabulous stay

Property is absolutely beautiful and service is very good. Staff assisted us on many matters. Even after we checked out and ran into some issues with local rental car company, due to language barriers, we reached out to La Zambra for help and they tried their best. It is conveniently located in the middle, Malaga to the east, Marbella to the west and Ronda to the North. Mijas is 20 minutes drive up the hills.

Very quiet, comfortable and has character

Very nice, very comfortable bed, very quiet at night. Lovely character with the interesting architecture and courtyards. However, for some people it might be too quiet and it's away from any outside bars, restaurants, activities, apart from golf courses. Nice pool area, looking over pristine golf course and mountains. I only ate breakfast here. I thought it might have been better, for cooked food and hot food section. Coffee was very poor. Staff very friendly and attentive. Nightime was relaxing, sitting outside balcony bar, but, for some, this might be too quiet for a holiday. Ideal for a good rest and relaxtion. Only problem for good R&R was that there are charges to even to use the steam-room only.

Overall, excellent. Very comfortable, very quiet. Luxurious linen and towels (fluffiest ever). Great location, looking over beautiful nature and golf course, with mountains in the distance. Nice pool and very comfortable sun-beds (and just about enough of them when I was there, as lucky to get some late Oct. sunshine!). But very dismayed that, with a Deluxe room there was still a 30 euro charge to use the steam-room! I have stayed in dozens of five-star hotels around the world and they always allow any guest to use the steam-room and sauna free of charge (of course you must pay for other spa services). If anything, it's a good marketing strategy to drive guests to visit the spa! At least there was a bath in my room, which I was not expecting, as the pool water was not heated and it was the end of Oct. But very refreshing. I thought breakfast was reasonable, but a distinct lack of cooked items at the buffet. You could order a la carte (eggs to order etc) but nothing else to garnish the order from buffet (like grilled tomatoes etc.). Coffee was terrible every day. Small cafes in Malaga had way better coffee for less than 2 euros. I liked the almost (luxury) monastic feel with courtyards, minimalist decor and fountains. Moorish influence very obvious. Very quiet. Not a party hotel, and bar dead at evening time, but great hotel for a good rest, which is what I wanted. Great sleep, uninterrupted, every night. Would recommend.

Bliss!

Unbelievable! A beautiful location, the hotel staff are incredibly friendly, food is very good and there are lots of small additional touches which make a stay here pure bliss. Would recommend to everyone and anyone.

We have visited a couple of times, and the standards seem to be slipping a little. Overall, still a nice hotel, but dinner service staff were very slow, and the table wasnt ready, even though we reserved.

Had the most incredible experience at la zambra! Stayed there for a birthday treat and it didn’t disappoint. Would recommend this to anyone! Will definitely go back.

Wonderful place to spend time relax and enjoy

A relaxing long weekend with my daughter.

From the moment we walked into the hotel we were really impressed by the immaculate and beautifully thought out design of the rooms and gardens. All staff members made us feel really special. It was a relaxing stay in a lovely environment. The layout of the garden and pool area very carefully thought out and never noisy, really beautiful inside and outside. The yoga in the morning was great and we also enjoyed a massage in the spa. The food and service was wonderful. We were sad to leave but very happy and relaxed. Thank you.

Beautiful surroundings in the hills and set into the golf course. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely and doesn’t feel busy. Fantastic breakfast and very peaceful spa. Convenient buggy service if playing on Mijas golf course to save walking (although it is also and easy walk to the course). This is our second stay since the hotel opened less than 2 years ago.

Overall a great hotel, great focus on details, quality and not expensive at all. A luxury stay that I will rate 10 out of 10.

The place was marvellous. The only issue for us was the bathroom. It was not practical in the room we stayed in. No privacy and you have no place to set the shampoo in the shower except the floor.

A beautiful hotel, we had a junior suite and it had lots of space and was very stylish. The pool area was idyllic, and the spa was wonderfuI. It was the staff who made it really great for us though. We came with our 9month old baby and the staff were SO accommodating and made us feel really welcome and at home. They are really great with children here, especially in the restaurant. We also enjoyed the kids hour in the indoor pool, and liked that they were only allowed in during set hours to allow quiet relaxation time outside of this (which we also enjoyed!). The only complaint we have is that the spa opens quite late, at 10am! It would be nice if it could open at 8 or even 9am.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! The photos online do not do it justice. We just spent a fabulous 3 nights here and will definitely be back!

The service was not great, not all the facilities were open and sounds proofing of rooms terrible.

The grounds/rooms/facilities are beautiful. The staff are the friendliest and really make the stay special. Fun complimentary activities such as yoga, wine tasting, gin tasting etc. We left feeling very relaxed and will return back one day soon!

Away from key area. Driving option was hard due to round abouts and distance to main freeway.

To channels not to good for people from UK

Just returned after a four day trip, this is a wonderful quiet hotel and staff are really great and friendly. The views from hotel are amazing, easy bus route to town centres and taxi ride convenient. Will definitely return and recommend.

Absolutely outstanding service, from a team that genuinely wants to look after you. Apart from The Four Seasons Hotels, I've never been so impressed not only by the training, but by the friendly smiles from early morning till late at night

Wonderful hotel

This was a wonderful stay, the hotel staff were superb. It was my husband’s birthday and every member of staff recognised him and wished him a happy birthday. The room was beautiful I cannot find any fault at all with our stay and will certainly book again in the future.

The staff were excellent. The flamenco was great the food in the restaurant was not so great. Breakfast on the other hand was excellent. Would go back. 10 out of 10 for all staff we encountered.

I really like the style and the decor of the hotel. Facilities were great, views really nice and it was really clean. I hope to go back sometime soon.

Great Mijas Golf Hotel

Excellent hotel & staff but food choices/quality for vegetarians could be better. Pools were very cold especially the family pool which was very chilly.

This property is spotless, quiet, gorgeous and the staff is absolutely wonderful. This was one of the best hotel vacation experiences I have ever had.

We couldn’t find fault with this gem of a hotel. It scores a solid 10 on every conceivable metric and the staff bend over backwards to cater to your every need. Can’t wait to go back!!

Very relaxing resort. Amazing ambience, we spent more time just staying by the pool than visiting parts of Spain because it was so inviting. Staff was great.

We stayed at La Zambra for just over a week and had a fabulous, relaxing time. The hotel is modern and very clean. All staff were friendly and so very helpful throughout our stay. The spa was a very welcome addition. The grounds were well maintained and there were always plenty of sunbeds around the pools with views over the golf course. The breakfast was superb with plenty of options and the staff were very attentive. The on-site restaurants also offered great choices for lunch and dinner which is helpful as there are few other options within walking distance of the hotel. If not staying for golf, the hotel is well situated for days /afternoons out to Malaga, Marbella, Mijas, and even to Ronda however would recommend a car for ease. Would recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future!

If it were possible to rate them 20 out of 10 I would! The staff were amazing, especially Mario who made our very late arrival and painfully early morning departure so pleasant! The facilities are brand new, gorgeous, laid out thoughtfully, with amazing amenities and a lovely peaceful environment on the golf course. All this while being just a 20 minute drive to/from the airport. I couldn't recommend more highly! A wonderful stay!

We had an excellent 3-day stay at this luxurious hotel. The facility was perfect, with excellent dining options, a great spa, a wonderful staff, great pools, etc. the location is perfect, between Malaga and Marbella, a short drive from the charming Pueblo de Mijas and Nerjas Caves and beach. We loved every minute there!

It’s a beautiful place to stay and the staff are amazing, Spa is so peaceful and well maintained. Loved Doris at the bar , to be honest all staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much for them. Will go back definitely.

We loved our stay at the La Zambra hotel. It was truly a perfect escape! The staff were soo friendly, accommodating and must welcoming from the front desk to the spa. I cannot recommend visiting enough. Everything from the architecture to the the room and spa amenities are perfectly executed to the finest detail by the staff. There is plenty of options when it came to lunch and dinner. We loved dining at Picador, all the dishes were exquisite. Thank you to all the member of the La Zambra team for having us!

Family stay over the Xmas period. Lively hotel. Clean and modern. Very well maintained. Great food & drink. Great spa. Staff were excellent, helpful & friendly. Our first time stay but we will 100% be back. Highly recommended.

Hôtel magnifique hyper accueillant pour les enfants, chambre superbe et literie ultra confortable. Personnel adorable et aux petits soins, plusieurs restaurants différents, propreté au top. L’hôtel est vraiment superbe avec un grand charme comparé à ce qu’on peut voir sur la côte. C’était notre premier voyage avec notre fille de 2 ans, et l’accueil pour les enfants était au delà de nos attentes (plein de cadeaux pour eux offerts par l’hôtel, chaises hautes dans tous les restaurants, coloriage lorsqu’ils sont à table, piscine intérieure…) On reviendra!
