Cozy Stay
Kukaldosh Boutique Hotel is a charming stay in the heart of Bukhara’s old town, making it perfect for exploring the city’s historic sites. The location is fantastic, and the breakfast is delicious, offering a great start to the day. A cozy and convenient choice for travelers!
Top location
Nice boutique hotel in central location. Home like fresh breakfast. Very close to labi havuz complex.
The property is extremely run down and in need of maintenance work. The door to the bedroom (room 105) which leads into the communal courtyard wouldnt properly close or lock - safety issue. The closet door in bedroom was broken/off track and slams onto your fingers - we didnt use it to avoid injury. The bathroom tiles and tub were broken and stained. Mold surrounding the tiles/bathtub caulking. Water leaks from behind the tub near the toilet. Breakfast is served in a gloomy downstairs basement - was NOT a buffet. Items offered were repeated/recycled day to day and not very appetizing. We asked for fried eggs - they accomodated. The fruit provided for breakfast was the best offering. The only nice thing was walkability to major sites. However, we saw several other hotels such as Shehriston, Hotel Asia Bukhara, Hotel Malika - all which were in even better locations. This hotel is close to Layabi Houz - central courtyard. Not a complete disaster but would not recommend nor would we stay there again.
Staff were very helpful
Excellent choice for visiting Bukhara. Location is good for all sights and amenities.. just don't let them give you room 101, it's right next to reception and you get the noise of all coming and going in the evening plus the early risers for breakfast.(They did not get my Orwellian pun)
Excellent staff / Room was clean and comfortable
We are very pleased with our stay at Kukaldosh. The location is superb as we are just 2mins away from the money changer, and an entire stretch of beautiful restaurants. The main attractions of Bukhara are all within short walking distance from the hotel, and it saved us a lot of time looking for food and transporting to the different attractions. The front office staff (whose name we didn't get) was helpful, polite, and friendly. He spoke excellent english, making communication easy between us. He was working despite not feeling well on our last day, and we appreciate that he bothered to keep his mask on throughout the day, even when no one is at the counter. Many people no longer wear their masks even if they are coughing, but this man continues to be very considerate towards his guests. We appreciate that very much and hope he will see our review. The room was clean and comfortable, and the decor in the hotel is very pretty.
Fantastic Hotel in Bukhara
This is an excellent hotel in Bukhara that we've stayed at multiple times. It's clean and comfortable. It's also a short walk to lots of shopping and eating options. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and can help you schedule a PCR test at the hotel. They all speak English as well. We paid for our stay online and they will take card at the desk as well. One other major plus is the parking lot that is located immediately next to the hotel - something hard to find in Uzbekistan.
Very good location right in the middle of the old town. Lovely room. Main sights nearby. Nice, helpful staff. Good english.
Nice stay
Good stay. Nice breakfast. Short walk to centre of city. Rooms face inner courtyard so if there are people lounging in the evening it can be quite loud as soundproofing is minimal. Overall good place to stay.
Unable to sleep
This is a lovely looking hotel but unfortunately, it is extremely noisy. I would not recommend the single rooms at all. The double rooms are probably good when the hotel isn't full and noisy. More specifically, there are only 2 single rooms. One is lovely but sandwiched between the reception and the courtyard and every word from either direction can be clearly heard. The other one is smaller, faces the road and is bland and dark. It is not an acceptable alternative. I was unable to sleep on several nights as people sit and talk in the courtyard until the early hours of the morning. Staff don't have the skills to manage these situations. I asked several times if they could ask guests to speak softly. I also asked if they could lock the courtyard after 11pm. They were too frightened to do this, instead apologising to me repeatedly. I had to get out of bed several times, in my nightie, and ask guests to be aware of people trying to sleep. This was a prepaid reservation and although I mentioned that they should consider some compensation, this was not offered. Nor was I offered a chance to move to another hotel. I was offered the other single room which was a poor alternative. This is a very small hotel so if it is fully booked, they cannot offer any other room options. My most disappointing experience in Uzbekistan.
Friendly little boutique Hotel
It has a perfect location and the staff is friendly and helpful, even when it comes to talking sanity into taxi drivers who think they can self determine taxi fees for tourists. The breakfast was good and varied, well atleaft as long there was many guests, when it became lass it was suddenly random items coming to individual tables.
Lovely spot great staff
Beautifully decorated with nice decorative details. Fresh, clean, friendly front desk. We had a lovely stay. It is a great location right by the old town and restaurants we walked everywhere.
Nice hotel with excellent location
The hotel has an excellent location right next to the city center. We were first shown into a really terrible room which overlooked the street and was noisy with a badly smelling toilet. After we complained the management immediately checked us in to a much larger ground floor room which was very quiet and spacious. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. My only negative comment is that the breakfast could have been much better. The other hotels in which we stayed in Uzbekistan had a buffet breakfast and I feel this should be adopted by the present hotel.
