Excellent five star hotel.

Excellent five star hotel with modern rooms with all the amenities and a cloud like bed. Great restaurants, rooftop bar, 8th floor pool, all overlooking the South China Sea with many waterfront dining options and markets within easy walking distance.

When we arrived the girl at the counter told us there was an issue with water pressure in some of the rooms. She didn’t know which rooms which we thought was strange. We were tired from our travels so we told her we would take the room anyway. When we got to the room the water pressure and temperature was fine. Other guests were taking refunds and changing hotels because they were being given the same information. It was around 5PM and I was glad that we didn’t go through the hassle of finding another hotel.

Comfortable stay in KK

Comfortable and spacious room. Beautiful shower. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The pool got a bit noisy with tourists constantly snapping instagram photos over the infinity pool but good location overall and I would stay again.

The stylo Bar and pool is a winner

Water flow in the bath room rated poor, no hot water at times and limited.

Probably one of the best located hotels in the centre of KK. Perfect views from the rear of the hotel. Good facilities but some of the furniture was a bit worn. Car parking was good but in a disused part of the complex.

the air line route is above this air space. The noisy isolation of the room is not so good.

The telephone was not working as well as the fridge...

After an extremely long two days of flying, the first hotel messed up my booking. I went over to the Marriott and they instantly helped me, were extremely kind. They have an excellent restaurant, pool and gym that I enjoyed.

Great stay

Beautiful service from staff always with a smile. Excellent location. Extremely comfortable room and bed. Well appointed fitness facilities.

Huge rooms and very comfortsble, with great views to the ocean. Check in , concierge, pool and retaurant staff were wonderful. Swimming pool was great. Would highly recomend.

The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The breakfast food was very delicious. The sitting area around the people is limited, and many children share the pool.

Good location

The location is great. It's walking distance about 15-20mins to the famous weekend Gaya Street market, Filipino market, Central market etc. Half the way is covered walkway because Marriott Hotel entrance is at one end and the building is big; so it takes about 5-10mins to walk to the end of the building. Gym looks great although we didn't used it. The breakfast buffet was good enough.

Consider refurbishing the lobby to achieve a more grand and high-class ambiance.

The hotel offered satisfactory service with notably quick in-room dining. The sea view and location were impressive, ideal for those seeking delicious food and family time. The quality of food and service was decent, and the room was fine for those not expecting luxury standards. (However, the shower head in the room needed repairs due to low water flow.) A special shout-out to Nigel at the front desk who was a true superstar! His patience and professionalism during our check-in were outstanding, landing us an amazing room with a breathtaking sea view and balcony! I also want to express my gratitude for all the excellent dining suggestions he provided us. Thank you Nigel!

Family staycation at Marriott

Friendly staff, nice gym. Hotel with nice sea view. Convenient to few shopping location. Breakfast buffet not nice.

We love the sea view. The down side is not much choices for restaurant.

Nice hotel

Great and scenic hotel.

Located very close to the airport and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Room was great and breakfast was good to go.

This is my second time staying at Marriott KK. They never fail to impress me, especially the manager of M club,Mr Adrian. He was such a kind and patient man who ensure that our stay there is as great as he can.

Staff was bery friendly and customer service was excellent. Hotel is in a great location with access to a mall.

The buffet breakfast was value for money and really good choices.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel as the staff were very helpful and the view was outstanding. Great views of western sunsets from top of hotel where the pool was also located. Highly recommend!

The location is perfect for exploring KK and the surrounding areas. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. There are some amazing views of the sunset from the infinity pool.

Amazing Hotel to stay at. Chef Jeff in Kitchen 8 did a really wonderful job catering Vegetarian food for us. All of the service personnel were fantastic. Concierge counter arranged for a car for us to do local sight seeing which was really good. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. Will definitely go back to experience the Marriott Service.

Stay at Marriott

Stay was pleasant . Clean room. Food choice can be improve with more international choices than current. My room was facing the main road so can be very noisy at night when motorists blast their engines. Otherwise am happy with stay.

The staff was very helpful and the best breakfast ever! Love the traditional Nescafe “tarik” yummy We love our stay in Kota Kinabalu Sabah❤️❤️❤️

Room is clean and cosy with the all the available amenities staff is courteous and restaurant servers are efficient

Only one problem

Beautiful hotel. Room with a nice balcony would have a spectacular view if it weren’t for all the boats parking 24/7 right outside. This stole all the privacy as anyone on the boats can clearly see into the rooms including the bathrooms. Still the staff and the hotel in general was great. Would highly recommend.

New and modern

One of the newest hotels in KK. Huge pity was that the attached mall was a ghost town. Otherwise, given the quality of the service and rooms, I would definitely recommend this to other travellers. Special shout out to the hotel staff - excellent service and knowledgeable about their work.

Service is good but Rooftop bar serving cocktails with “not so good quality “ , sunset @ Stylo was so beautiful but finger food was not so good quality not matching 5-star standard

This property is located just in front of south china sea and next to oceanus waterfront mall. You get the best view based on what you pay. It has easy access to nearby places. Everything is in walkable distance like 7/11, malls, restaurants, local food and fast food.

Excellent sunset view and dinner from the room’s bacony

Overall comfort and cleanliness are superb. Highly recommended for holiday staycation. However, the hot bath water supply was not enough and low temperature, please improve on it.

Breakfast buffet was okay but limited choice of food. We were expecting variety choices of food as stated on the table menu for breakfast buffet.

Very helpful and friendly staffs

All the staffs are very well trained. Tney were heloful and fast to respond to your your enquiries. Two area to improve is that they should cover the cutlery instead of leave it on the table and to make sure all guests wear mask when take food durong breakfast. I saw 2 guests chit chatting in front of the fruits session without mask. Unused cutleries were not picked up after a guest on a table of 4 sets left. The remaining 3 sets will be used by the next guests. It is not very hygiene unless it is sercurely packed.

Really enjoyed my weekend getaway!

The people working here are so nice and friendly. They let us check in early and even let us have late check out. The property is quite new and so high quality. Breakfast spread is amazing. Would love to stay here again.

This is newest hotel in KK. Loved it. I booked a seaview room, and got an oceanfront. Loved the room. Large, and with so many USB outlets for charging. The hotel is very nice, even though the shopping mall it is part of is dead. But after getting your bearings you can find all the shopping and services you need behind the buildings across the street for what the mall is lacking. I will return to this hotel.

Cleanleness could have been better specialy outside around the pool. Staff is extremely polite and helpfull service apart from pool area is for rating 10 out of 10

They have the best concierge team! They gave a lot of recommendations and advices everyday. The location is a little bit far from the centre of the city. But it is still in walking distance

Excellent staff and beautiful hotel

This is a new hotel on the waterfront located in the shopping area. It is excellent in every aspect. Particularly outstanding is the unique and sophisticated interior design in guestrooms, the swimming pool and rooftop bar. Choose a sea-view room - it’s definitely worth the extra cost. Also outstanding are the excellent staff. They are well-trained with past experience in other international hotels. They are most pleasant, very helpful and everyone has a warm smile and greeting whether in the lift, passing by in the corridor, on desk duty, doorman, concierge, waiters, housekeeping, etc. I will return again!

Our stay at the Kota Kinabalu Marriott was lovely, the staff were fantastic and very welcoming and helpful, rooms were lovely, amazing views and facilities - had a great time!

Warm hospitality

Very friendly staff which always greet and put on a smile (other than the one called Adeline during breakfast time) bed is comfy and room is clean. Satisfied overall.

Overall fine with a blemish

We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend. Overall we like the hotel, although the pillow & the mattress just weren't firm enough. They affected our sleeps. The other blemish was the annoying noises from the illigal motor bikes racing on the main road in front of the Hotel. We just got woke up in the middle of the night & failed to regain sleeps. On request, we were given a much better room away from the main road. For that we thank the Front Desk Manager, Hafeezah for her prompt response. We had a drink at the roof top bar & feel that a bit of music's would have made the place less boring.

Nice hotel and staff, but breakfast is kind of disappointing

Overall, it is not worth to stay in this hotel. Location is good, staff is good, and the building is new, but many things are not like 5star hotels. The hotel was very not cleaned. Bathroom was horrible. Someone’s blood drop was on the floor next to the toilet, shower place was full of mold. I have been to all over the world good and bad hotel, but most of 5 star hotel has good breakfast. But here, not a lot that I can eat. The infinitiy pool was small (compare to other 5star hotels) but i like the view from the pool. There were two buildings (a and b) pool and the breakfast restaurant was in 8th fl of building B. If you are staying building A, you have to go all the way down to the lobby and take another elevator to get to the pool or restaurant.

Too much frustration

I felt a bit of frustration when the kitchen was closed at 2135...... Felt very much frustrated when you are no allow to smoke on the 15th floor terrasse which is enormous

Great place with the perfect location .. close to airport, malls and jetty to the beaches. Amazing staff, infinity pool and roof top bar with a great band that places. Plus 50% on drinks for most nights.

the staff there are helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient. Various Restaurant and big shopping mall is right downstairs of the hotel or within 10 mins walk. Airport to hotel only takes 15 mins drive. the infinity pool with sunset is amazing. i would recommend to choose a room with sea view, it’s definitely worth the price. The only thing to improve is there should be more food choices of the breakfast. But overall we definitely enjoy the stay and will come back again next time.

Staff is very nice and even upgraded my room due to it being romantic getaway. Prepared a nice turn down of the room with rose petals which delighted my partner. Location is bit further from the city center but very much walkable. The view is top notch and you can easily view the spectacular sunset of KK from the upper floors.

My stay in Marriot KK made my whole Sabah experience more fun and memorable! Watching the sunset from the infinity pool and from their rooftop bar was my favorite! Highly recommended!

Hotel location near airport, only take 20mins to the hotel. Nice pool with ocean view, but I stay 4 night, no housekeeping clean the room, no one clean the room, even I call front desk to clean twice, still no one cleaning. FINALLY NEED ask the housekeep clean the room at 10 p.m. in front desk.

We the infinity pool and the gym. Unfortunatelyc during our stay the steam and sauna rooms were not working. We loved the central location, walking distance to everything we needed

Good location .. Near Airport Within walking distance to good food and shopping Breakfast is great Have a refreshing session swimming but should prolong the pool timing till 10pm . That would be great . Overall , I’m very happy staying in this hotel .

Friendly. Organized. Clean. Convenient. I stayed in 12 hotels on the island and this was all-round the best

An otherwise nice but structurally weirdly designed hotel stuck to a low grade mall. The hotel car park was badly located and dimly lighted. Hotel corridor walkways was claustrophobic with low ceiling heights. Not sure what the hotel management was thinking when they decided on this location.

Room has been upgraded and that was amazing ocean view and perfect room. Thank you for your service. I will stay again.

Excellent stay

Frienly at concierge was too helpful.So was other team members to make our stay comfortable.

It is one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in, the location is perfect where there is Imago mall, one of the biggest or the biggest shopping mall in Kota Kinabalu, and it is about 15mins from walking. This hotel is also connected to Oceanus Waterfront Mall if you need to buy any snacks or drinks. The hotel is also surrounded by restaurants, local markets and pubs too. Lastly, I think Marriott Hotel is one of the few that are facing or near to the sea that has a great sea view!!! You should consider this hotel if you are coming to Kota Kinabalu!

Amazing Stay, Fantastic Staff

I had a really lovely stay at this outstanding hotel. The room is very nice and spacious. Breakfast is great as is in-room dining. The rooftop pool is great with an amazing view! Nice gym. The staff are outstanding and went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay. They recommended places to see each day and things to do. Adrian and Halmsley were exceptional. I will definitely stay again at this brilliant hotel.

arrived at 1515 - room not ready n compensatedhalf hour later with a nicer room view next day room intruded by an unknown hotel staff while am in shower - got really scared and checked out immediately and alerted all necessary staff

Great for families

It was an amazing stay for our whole family. The rooms are of good size and breakfast was nice too. From the check-in to check-out, the service provided was excellent. We would like to sincerely thank Mr Ben and all staff of Marriott for the great service and happy memories. All the best and have a wonderful year in 2019 !

Hotel with the best view of the sea and mountains

The best hotel in Kota Kinabalu from my experience. Love the open air topmost floor. Best place to unwind and watch the sunset. Fantastic view of the bay and mesmerised by the beautiful sunset. Also best place for airplane spotting. They fly over the hotel. In the early morning view of Mt. Kinabalu very clear if clouds not blocking the mountain. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Location of hotel strategic to go shopping and to reach airport. I loved my stay at Marriot KK!!
