Union market being across the street was great.
Goodnplace to stay
The property overall was pretty quiet except the last night where there was a soccer game going on till almost 10. The bathrooms are not great. Shower floor was slippery like an ice rink, they gave you a towel to put on the shower floor, nasty and cold. The toilet seat didn’t fit and the sink faucet leaked all over the top of the vanity flooding everything. The Bistro breakfast buffet was overpriced for sub-standard basic breakfast items. $61.00 for two people. Ridiculous. It is close to the union market but on Sunday you can’t get to it because the gates are locked and the hotel keycard didn’t open it. We had to stand there waiting for a student to enter so we could get out and again to get back in or else we would have to walk for several blocks around campus to get to the main entrance and then around to the market.
Very disappointing
Everything from checking in (some very important info was skippped) to the one coffee for 2 people to last 2 days. The ridiculous parking fee from 4pm to sunday morning 9am $150 ! For parking 5 minutes away. No room service. That fact also wasnt mentioned for $190 per night total shamefull. I stayed at $75 a night with better service and a breakfast.
Comfortable for the price
The stay was comfortable enough for the price and since I was only there for a night. I wish I could have contolled the temp in the room.
We were visiting our niece at Gallaudet University. Everything is walkable. Parking is available nearby for a fee. Metro is nearby as well. Overall, we had a pleasant trip.
Love the ease of parking and the hotel's location on the beautiful gated campus. Beds are extremely comfortable. The only complaint was only 1 packet of coffee was provided for a room sleeping 4 guests. Also the hairdryer was so weak it was not usable. Suggest bringing your own.
We’ve had a room already with no hot water or the room is too hot. You can’t get the air on to get the temp down in the room very hard to sleep. The price is good. They offer free fruit and it’s convenient as we have a daughter at Gallaudet and it’s right on campus.
Transport service to Union Station for meetings Excellent experience
Love this place
I’ve been to this hotel several times and it’s my go-to when I come to the area— always pleasant staff, nice amenities, nice grounds, and Gaullist University has an interesting and important history, culture and focus. Also, it’s much more economical than many other chain hotels in the area. I love it.
Very comfortable living envionment. I will choose this hotel again next time in DC.
Awesomeness
Amazing. Love the area. Love the hotel. Quiet. Staff helpful and friendly. Very clean. My new go to hotel.
Great place to stay while visiting my children at Gallaudet. Union market is next door. Easy access to go there.
My overall stay was going well until the 2nd day. our heat stopped working in our room.. called the front desk to let them know and no one ever came up. It was 20 degrees outside which made it extremely worse. housekeeping never came to our room, had to call the front desk to ask for towels and tissue. There was one girl at the front desk who’s very sweet and was honestly the highlight of my stay.
Staff at the hotel went out of their way if we had a question or need. Would definitely stay again Weather could have been warmer❄️❄️❄️
Pictures definitely helped this property in the choosing process. Hotel IRL was a disappointment. It was very outdated. Shower was dirty and water pressure weak. Even thought about leaving mid stay on the first night. Bed linen and pillows stained and dingy. TVs outdated with very little channels to choose from. For the price that was paid, the hotel and the stay did not seem to match the value. Hotel safe was nice and welcoming but would not return to this property.
Some of the gates to the campus where the hotel is located were closed. So there was only one gate access to the hotel. The room was cleaned only once in 3 days stay. This is unacceptable.
Reserved a room with two beds paid for it but they don’t have a room with 2 beds. We traveled out of town came in late and struggling to get accommodated
Unique in that it is on the Gallaudet University campus; has a shuttle from the metro stop; clean, friendly,
Wed used the shuttle everyday. Very convenient connection to Union Station
Hotel was empty and the staff was sleepy. Seems like it would be a great place when it is staffed for activity
Convenience to East Capital St. Is perfect, as is the hotel’s location near Union Mkt and many other eateries, we love staying on this quiet, safe campus!
Friendly staff; clean property
An amazing unique experience
I was one of the most amazing experiences in a hotel, truly unique, one of a kind, and I loved every minute of it. The staff were absolutely amazing and the hotel is beautiful Highly recommended
I booked a stay at Kellogg Hotel through Expedia and fully prepaid online. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and was redirected to Hotel Nell. I was assured by Kellogg Hotel staff that my stay at Hotel Nell would be covered entirely by them. However, two days after my return, I noticed a charge from Hotel Nell on my account. I’ve reached out to both hotels multiple times, but the issue remains unresolved. Now, Kellogg Hotel claims the charge is my responsibility, contrary to their original promise. I feel misled and would like this issue addressed promptly.
We had a lovely stay! Our room was very nice and clean.
Overall excellent
The daily price was great for a nice clean room and property in downtown DC.
Wonderful place to stay. Staff was professional and polite. Rooms were clean and almost felt "new". The beds and pillows were insanely comfortable. Would definitely stay there again in the future.
The University grounds are very pleasant. The staff are very helpful. There is a free bus shuttle to Union Station. Union Market is across the street - get a gate key for easy access.
Pleasant night's sleep
The service at the bistro was hard to figure. Appears to not have enough staff. Friend and I ordered eggs for breakfast, while waiting told to visit the buffet. Ate a bit off that and then our breakfast came, eggs ice cold. 6 other diners in the bistro at the time. no excuse for food not being served while hot. $30 for breakfast for 2 and 1/2 of what we ordered we did not touch. also, no microwaves in the hotel. Oatmeal packets being sold but no way to warm them....& why not just give a card to the guest re getting back into campus after leaving thru gate? we kept forgetting to ask for one and then hours later upon our return had to walk down to the security guard station. Really unnecessary. Would not stay again.
It was an amazing place to stay with beautiful grounds! We loved the breakfast and enjoyed using the shuttle to and from the union station.
Great place. One of the bed’s sheets smelt kinda funny and the pillowcase literally had a giant dark spot on it. Everything else was great and the staff is extremely amazing.
Miriam is the best
Nice Hotel
Good experience. Clean room and comfy beds. Good breakfast, pleasant atmosphere all around.
1st check in front desk is rude, other days are good. Location is quiet and nice
Beautiful campus. Pretty, peaceful. Great helpful staff. My room was large, clean and smelled wonderful. I loved the scent of the shampoo and soaps they used. The free breakfast was delicious, many choices. There was a market of several international restaurants across the street for dinner. Perfect stay
Great place. Super clean
I loved that the hotel was within the university. Nice and quiet and safe.
Excellent customer service. Very clean and convenient.
Great stay. I love this conference center for its location and price.
It was convenient for eating options and easy parking accessibility.
We had parking for a vehicle. The place was really clean no noise or any crazy smells so I appreciate it.
Hotel was very clean, quiet, and staff friendly.
nice
Property is on University grounds which felt was safer with campus security always around. Was nicer atmosphere. Was clean and person who checked us in was helpful. Off the beaten path with being close to all museums planned to see on my trip.
All staff very nice especially the hostess at breakfast, forgot her name unfortunately.
Room was clean and well appointed. There were small green bugs on my sheets. Came away with a few bug bites. Could not get a printed receipt from the front desk because "it was pre-paid". Never had this issue before.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming
Very quiet, easy parking, free shuttle to Union station made our trip really easy to get around . Hotel itself is nice, breakfast onsite. Campus is quiet and really beautiful. An oasis in the city.
Best place for family trip.
The room was like a dorm room. Very low water pressure. The hallway carpet was filthy. The staff were very nice but the parking was $50 a night. It was way too expensive for what we got. Better value at a Hampton Inn
We had a jr Queen suite which was lacking in decor. It had a sofa and loveseat but no coffee table or side tables. The desk had a lamp but that was the only light in the living room area. The tv had some weird channels and only carried CNN, MSNBC or old sitcoms. The bathroom was very nice but the shower door was in the wrong place and you had to step in the shower to reach the controls and the shower floor was very slippery and kind of dangerous.
Great
.
Really nice hotel.
Property was great and the campus was so beautifull
It’s great that the hotel is inside a secure university property. Unfortunately they put me in a room of which I did not reserve. I paid for a queen suite and they gave me a standard. After I discovered the downgrade, they offered to move me the next day but that was inconvenient for me. The frustration is I called ahead to make sure my room was reserved and I would not loose it. They didn’t inform me of the change during check-in. Frustrating.
This is a hotel-conference center located within Gallaudet University. Beautiful campus, quiet, and safe. It's 10-15 minutes drive to the National Mall, very convenient location. The room we stayed in was clean and the bed was on the firm side, which works very well for me (I prefer firmer mattresses over the soft mattresses in most hotels). Easy check in and easy check out. Parking is located on site and is $50 per night. Room has a mini fridge, a safe, but no microwave. There is a gym. Would have appreciated a small couch in the room. Overall, highly recommend if you are visiting the area and need a quiet and clean place to stay.
.
Very nice hotel on Galludet University’s campus. It’s very quiet there and mainly when the semester is over. I was happy with my rate during my stay.
Highly recommend
Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff! Will use this hotel for trips to visit our daughter in DC.
It is on a small historic college campus for the deaf. The campus was lovely and about a 10-15 minute walk to the metro if you want. The hotel is updated, but the rooms are ready for new carpet and color schemes in the rooms. Felt very safe.
This hotel is a nice quiet low key place to stay in DC. Interesting that is on the grounds of the Gallaudet University for the deaf.
Beautiful campus. Well maintained. Will definitely stay here again.
Nice place to stay pretty basic though. Breakfast wasn’t that great, eggs were wet, sausage was hard no pancakes or waffles. You have to walk a ways to the parking garage where the hotel charges you 50$ per day. I wasn’t told about parking upon my booking or when I got there I was just surprised with a 150$ in fees for parking. They did help me refund it though because it wasn’t discussed initially. Just be aware parking is expensive.
Parking is really expensive, $59 per night.
Great facility, helpful staff, nice location
Great facility.
Booked for a colleague. They raved about the hotel. Really, really liked it.
I had an amazing stay. A special shout out to Macy for her outstanding customer service she was amazing very professional and made me feel like a star Please provide her with an employee award
Two major surprises when we checked into this hotel, the first is that it is in the middle of a college campus. The second was the $50 charge for parking your car.
Amazing check in
Really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Conference Hotel in the heart of the University. Easy walk to the Metro for sightseeing no need for a car. Excellent breakfast available at the Hotel. Some nice food choices available within a five minute walk. Definitely would stay here again
It is very dusty in the room and the carpet is not really clean. They haven't cleaned up the room everyday and told me that they will clean the room every third day if you are staying there for a week.
I had some friends and coworkers who visited while I was staying here and we could not figure out where to park.
The hotel was fairly convenient to where our family members live. The room was nice and good quality with most everything a person would need on a trip. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I thought we got good value out of this stay.
Nice and polite staff and beatiful surroundig.
Campus environment
Amazing place
The shuttle to/from Union station was very convenient. Overall a great place to stay - highly recommend!
Nice
Accessible via WMTA. Staff was so welcoming from the very beginning. The room was clean. The campus is beautiful and made for a beautiful walk. The Gallaudet University staff were also amazing and amiable. I would definitely stay here again.
Look, these accommodations are not the Four Seasons, and various aspects of the property are a little run down. Nevertheless, it's clean and convenient and peaceful.
Amazing stay, it was very clean and staff was very attentive.
Clean hotel. very nice staff. It's not your fancy hotel but they provide all the necessary amenities. We felt safe being inside the college campus. Not very convenient if you want to walk to the most tourist areas. More of a work/ business stay. Not recommended for families or people with walking restrictions.
Kellogg Conference Hotel inside Callaudet University Campus is beautiful and location very quiet.
good overall
Good overall, beautiful place, but two things --did not get asked if needed parking pass when arrived, ended up getting ticket for where i parked --very noisy beginning at 8 am in morning

Great place to stay
Its my favorite place to stay every time we come to Washington DC. Nice location. So close to Union Market and metro station
It wasn’t the best experience! I arrived after dark and didn’t know where the parking garage was and had my car flashing outside. The front desk staff was kind enough to tell me my car can remain there while I unload my luggage, but the parking pass I was given provided directions to the garage from the main entrance to the campus not from the hotel! It said to drive past the security guard and turn left so I ended up circling the campus before asking the guard who redirected me the opposite way. I mean, how asinine, clearly the front desk is giving a parking pass to someone who has already arrived - why give directions all the way back where they arrived on campus rather than from their likely starting point? That pass needs to be edited to provide directions from both the front of the hotel and the front of the campus. Additionally, the non slip strips on the floor of the bathtub were filthy. They were almost black. That’s got to be a cheap replacement. There were no cleaning wipes in the gym & the hook to hang the remote control on the wall was broken. I had to waste time looking around for it. I reported to the front desk at checkout that the entry light of my room was broken. It would randomly start flashing erratically, leading me to believe there was someone ringing the doorbell, but there would be nobody in the hallway. The room and hallways were so creepy it did not feel like a safe place to be staying alone.
Nice parking grage with a lot of space. Rooms were clean and location felt safe.
I really loved this hotel
The front desk lady is very friendly. Much better than other lady
Beautiful Hotel with budlings very well located
Beautiful Hotel surrounded for amazing in budlings of the Gallaudet University, comfortable rooms and common areas (only the beds little too high to seat), close for the cable car that let you in Central Station and really close by car from the Capitol area.
Our stay was on NYE evening. It felt very safe because it’s on campus of a university. It was clean and the staff was friendly. A little outdated but we didn’t care about that much at all. The one thing that threw us off was they charge you $45 to park in their garage which is about a block distance away from the hotel.
quiet and comforting
Hotel was an amazing respite from the rest of the city, noise, etc. Room was very spacious had all amenities, very helpful and courteous staff. Close to all DC destinations, Smithsonian, Capitol, etc., but then some peace and quiet on the campus. Could not recommend this hotel more highly to family, friends, or fellow travelers.
Very pleasant stay
Friendly young lady at check-in. Very knowledgeable and helpfull

I DID NOT like that parking costs $50!!! And isn't even close to the hotel! Had i realized that, I would have booked somewhere else. The campus is pretty and quiet.
