Amazing trip for the first time to the Maldives. Kandima is a lovely little island and ticks all the boxes whether extrovert or introvert

Great property

The location and premises are great, especially for kids. Our AC was broken and did not get fixed until the fourth day and third attempt. Once it was fixed, no question whether it was fixed or not was asked. Hence, no compensation was offered which is not a pleasant service, especially given the fact that 3/4 got sick due to the AC. Service with restaurant bookings can absolutely be improved as they are not effective and most restaurants have empty tables every evening.

Our best vacations ever! The hotel was incredible, with many activities do have fun. The food was super good and the staff was the kindest and most friendly we have ever met in a hotel. We spend our honeymoon here and the extras we got for this were super cute, specially the couples massage. The food was super tasty and to be honest this was quite surprising as “all inclusive” packages then to be quite average, but in this hotel every detail is a different level, and food was just amazing. The staff … dont know even where to start… they were just so nice, helpful, super polite and friendly… we really felt super sad to have leave the hotel and all the amazing people that contributed to our best holidays ever. We cannot wait to be back! Thank you Kandima for being part of these amazing memories

It was amazing. I strongly recommend kandima because the place is incredible but the people there are even better... I came with my baby and definetly was a unforgotten experience.

Beach was nice - that’s about it

The hotel is set on a beautiful natural island, there was sand everywhere, even in reception which added the vibe. We had to wait in reception, in the sweltering heat for 40 mins before we could go to our room. The service was so slow and painful. I had previously been emailing the hotel to book the seaplane and organise a room upgrade half was through the holiday to surprise my wife for her birthday. I didn’t get a reply half the time and only just managed to book the seaplane in time. At check in I tried to explain this when my wife wasn’t around, they then spoilt the surprise by announcing how much the upgrade would cost in front of my wife. I was so annoyed. When we checked into the beach studio, we were underwhelmed. Apart from the beautiful view of the beach, it felt very basic and not at all luxury. When we did finally upgrade to the over water villa with swirl pool, it felt much nicer. I wish we had stayed there the entire trip. But that being said, the shower head was broken, the swirl pool kept turning on by itself and the room felt tired and worn. The food was okay. Nothing amazing. There were cafes which mainly had cakes - I wish they have more salads or healthy sandwiches for lunch. The kids club was good - my son enjoyed going and had fun. Staff there were fantastic. When we left, the hotel booked us on a ridiculously early seaplane without telling us until 9pm the night before, so that made our journey home very long and tiring.

Oh My God!!! This place was literally PARADISE! My wife and I were just there in November for our honeymoon and we loved every single minute that we spent there! From arriving and being greeted by the amazing stafff at the dock with fresh beverages to our breathtaking over water villa. The views were incredible, the food was amazing, the staff was perfect and so helpful, there were so many activities to do and the atmosphere was fantastic! We went snorkeling off of our deck every day and eventually went deep water snorkeling with the group. The banana boat ride was a RUSH and so much fun especially because we got to go alone. We were there during Halloween week so the property decorated the grounds, had themes at every corner, scary movies on the beach and a small performance too. I give this property and experience a perfect 10/10 because I can’t think of a single thing that could’ve been better, I would just tell people coming from the USA to be prepared for a loooong trip to PARADISE!

We had a wonderful stay. We really appreciate the staff who were exceptional. Thank you to the Front Desk Manager Mohammed he accommodated us changing rooms because I am pregnant. He assured us about our flight information. We also appreciate the gentleman who worked the late shift at the desk , very accommodating.

What an absolutely incredible experience! Everything was amazing…from the seaplane, to the food, our villa, the staff, the kids club! Would highly recommend this resort for an unforgettable family vacation!

Overall stay was quite god

This place is absolutely stunning. Clear blue water, plenty of sea life and lot of activities for kids of all age. The staff here are very approachable and greet the guest with a smile. The rooms are clean and bed is equipped with best mattress you can get. Our family had an absolute cracking time even though it’s rained a lot on one of the days. The staff arranged lot of indoor activities for the kids, which allowed the grown up to have a great time as well. We stayed 5 night but I would recommend at least 7 days or more. You will never get tired of majestic view and serene deep blue water. I would rate our stay more 5 stars!. Rest assured, we will be back here again!

Great vacation

It was Amazing!!

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and it was everything we dreamed of and more. The island and water are beautiful, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and our aqua villa was amazing. I Highly recommend this place.

Wedding anniversary

We celebrated our 10yr wedding anniversary at Kandima. The stay was excellent and the service was 5 star's.

Wonderful place, large island and so is the resort. Everything perfect during our 9 day holiday from the food, to the activities, to the cleanliness and the room. We had a water villa and I recommend everyone to try the experience of sleeping on the water and overlooking the turquoise sea of ​​the Maldives. However, the thing that made the difference for us was the staff; always kind, smiling, thoughtful, attentive to the customer's needs but never intrusive. Truly a pleasant surprise. Overall enjoyable

Excellent service staff when it comes to regular service that they are used to do, but inflexible in special circumstances. E.g there was a night with heavy rain & lightning and there is a rather long walk back to our room unsheltered. We tried to ask for transport back to room seeing how their vehicles are able to ride on the platform when ferrying luggages so it should be something doable. However, they refused saying they don't offer buggy service to rooms. While we understand that it is not something that is normally offered, we thought they be more flexible. It was a dangerous walk back, we couldn't hold up our umbrellas too as the wind was too strong. During our stay, we fell sick but was very lucky to meet a very kind and helpful doctor at the medical centre. She helped us to recover quickly so that we can get back to our daily activities. Appreciated the daily activities schedule where we can partake in various free exercises and yoga. Although for some classes, instructor's punctuality can be an issue. Referring to classes not held by the gym or yoga instructor. 1 of us is vegetarian so glad to have quite a variety of options. Though would like to suggest for an improvement in the cooking of fish, it was almost always overcooked.

This was our honeymoon and the experience was truly amazing. I unfortunately did experience food poisoning from the lamb chops after a dinner on the beach which caused me to be so sick the last full day and the plane ride home which took over 20 hours. Our fridge didn’t work as well but the staff was outstanding to get me ice whenever I needed it. We stayed on the bungalow and it was perfect! Lots of walking but we truly had the best time there !!!!!

Loved everything, staff was very nice. They offer activities and a lot of complementary things. However, food is only available at the restaurants and cost a pretty penny (I would plan to spend a lot on food). Also the island/property is pretty big and golf carts are needed for transportation so you’re stuck waiting for them most of the time. They should have more carts circulating around. Other than that everything was great. Don’t forget to take water shoes, the beach is rocky.

Beautiful island but definitely not a 5 star hotel. AC in rooms didn’t work. Called 5 times and they were unable to fix the issue. Explained AC was an issue though out the property. Highly under staffed and food was average at best. Pools were dirty and water was incredibly hot. Apparently the chiller was an issue with the pool too. If you’re looking for a cheap option this is good but you get what you pay for.

Very family friendly and relaxing venue. We purchased the all inclusive package, the package was very much worth it. I highly recommend this venue and would certainly return.

We had a fantastic time ot Kandima resort and we can surely reccomend it to everyone, couples and families along.

By far the most engaging and friendly staff I've ever met especially the folks in the Flavour restaurant. Everyone was so kids friendly and always engaging nicely with our kids. On the other hand I think compared to other 5 star hotels we've visited, Kandima lacks the excellence especially when it comes to quality of beverages/food (and don't get me wrong the food was nice but not 5-star nice). I personally found the price for fresh coconuts ~6 USD ridiculous as this is the only thing that grows everywhere on the island. The location itself is amazing, beach is picturesque and looks amazing on Instagram as well as the perfect sandbox for babies and toddlers. If say Kandima is great but definitely not 5 star when it comes to quality and excellence.

I like everything and I enjoyed.

This resort was amazing. Mostly very friendly and knowledgable staff. Food was amazing, especially at the buffet when Chef Vijay was in the kitchen. easy to get around by foot and also has a free shuttle and bikes for rent. Only reason i didnt give a full 5 stars is because of a handful of staff who were less than friendly and helpful, but overall everyone will go above and beyond to make you smile at this resort, woud go back!

The location is a paradise, the size of the Island is perfect , you can have a walk but it takes 40 minutes to walk through which is making the experience wonderfull . The food is great and the service staff top (hussein, song, anita )

Staff were amazing. Island is beautiful. Villa was very clean. Make sure you bring a small torch at night.

Kandima Maldives Experience

A great anniversary trip. Greater by hotel at airport with sign. If taking water plane, make sure luggage total 20kg per person. Additional charges may apply. Over the water bungalow just like photos. Limited food and drinks were great with DAI package. Tropical area. May rain a little but weather was still 80 plus degrees. This was a trip for the books!

The place was ok. It more of a 3 star property than 5*. Staff do there best to accomadate and the chef. I hated the beach. It not smooth at all. It was rubbish. It had to much shells. Yes it was white. Pic from far make it look amazing. But close up not that great. All insclusve drink are all water down juice. Not the real thing. Pools are nice and bar area good. Restaurants are good with plenty to choose from. Another I had was the swirl pool are cold so I difficult to use at night time. It was ok but the best.

2/5 stay - I was expecting a splendid stay for end of the year and my post birthday, but it turned out so suckish! While the resort was very pretty, the experience was super bad right from the start of my stay. First the seaplane was delayed then cancelled and they didn’t inform us until we asked about the delay. Next when we arrived at the resort, when we wanted to book the restaurants to have our meals, the receptionists said everything was full and we could not even get any places to eat. Then it was the same with the spas and it was so hard trying to get the availabilities. Food was also just average and not spectacular especially the new year eve dinner which costed $300 US. Lastly their app and their schedules were all not synced properly - we booked the schedules and the receptionist insisted there weren’t the schedules when it was printed on the paper and we booked for it. Overall, the receptionists and their services failed us as they didn’t know what’s happening, restaurants failed us as they insist they were full when the restaurants looked empty (I had photo proof), spa was rushing thru the massages but the staff at Aquaholics was so super friendly and accommodating which saved the day! Overall I would not recommend this accommodation until they sorted out their service standards particularly the receptionists and their IT app deliveries.

Superb resort for families! We got a 5 star service from start to finish. No complaints what so ever. Kids club was great for the little ones. The entire team at Kandima were amazing everywhere, they were always friendly, warm and made us very comfortable. The Spa was amazing and so was all the amenities. Would recommend this resort to all with out My doubt.

I stayed in an aqua villa which is stunning but has no privacy at all. Neighbours can see you on your balcony or in your room. Room service is very very poor. Staff forgot to give me my PCR test before I left, was very stressful at the airport to try and get it. I do not recommend even though some things like room decoration or lagoon are nice.

Wifi was intermittent outside of the room and didn't get responses back in a timely manner sometimes when chatting online.

From the moment we landed at Male international airport, the staff of Kandima was there to greet us and made the connection from Male to Kandima seamless. Kandima if far more beautiful in person than any picture we had seen! The food, staff, and room we stayed at (aqua villa with jacuzzi) were excellent! We truly can't wait to be back!

Nice resort but understaff or with bad management Dust in the room when we arrived, very very bad wifi, missing towels in the pool, missing plates, cups in the bugfet restaurant. On our way back we booked

Great places, I stayed there with my fiancé at the Aqua Villa Jacuzzi. Breakfast is amazing but limited menu, dinner great as well also limited selection. I want to give special thanks to Wasa at the Pool Bar. He was amazing, down to earth. The General Manager was there and not friendly, he was on bis cell phone the entire time as opposed to the other managers who came by and introduced themselves with a big smile on their face and actually engaged with people who stayed there. Leadership starts from top to bottom, the general manager should definitely practice that. We did some excursions and please make sure you do it with Koko. He’s a great guy with smile on his face even in the water with you smiling. I work in Banking and if you would ask me key component question from NPS and how likely would I recommend them, I’d say an 8/10 And if they ever have a contest going on to enter a free entry and you’re American. Don’t even bother wasting time joining the contest. They only select and pick people from India and Russia as their bosses who control the panels are from India and bias.

The Good - food and service at Sea Dragon, Azure and Smoked - music played on speakers around the pools each day - the bands each night - the water sports guys were all awesome especially Lorenzo (scuba diving) - great being on Platinum All Inclusive (PAI) so no rude bill shocks - coffee in the Deli - breakfast buffets - rooms were comfortable The Bad/Mediocre - food at the other outlets was hit and miss; The Breeze pool cafe offered salads were pre-made and packaged in the deli; the dinner buffets at the buffet restaurants were OK but not great - the cocktails often taste different when made by the same bar - there is no consistency - they were very hit and miss - having to pay for bikes on the PAI plan - the premium restaurants close on certain nights so you can't always use your expensive PAI - the PAI is expensive but it's the Maldives so no surprise there - internet wi-fi around the resort was poor and in our rooms was slow The Ugly - the air cond in the room is very poor - had temp set to reach 18.5c but we were still sweltering - on arrival there was a mix up and they didn't know were on the PAI - they then said we had to still pay for the PAI - I showed an email confirming payment and eventually they agreed - on arrival it took about an hour before we got to our room because of the above mix up plus a staff member taking 30 minutes to run through a resort map - we then had to wait for the standard shuttle bus to our room - we were hot and exhausted and wanted our room

We needed to choose a resort that would at least partly answer to the needs of little kids. After a lot of research, we chose Kandima, as it is a fairly new resort, on a very large island, with facilities directly targeted at children, including a kids club and medical center. Any worries we had about visiting the Maldives were washed away at Kandima resort. The staff have crafted a highly personalized experience - they go out of their way to make every moment of your stay enjoyable and worry-free. This includes the extremely comfortable and thought out domestic transfer to and from Male, which is organized by Kandima resort. We were endlessly impressed by the level of attentiveness from all the staff members at Kandima, from the level of hospitality. Everyone, from the front desk staff to housekeeping personnel, restaurant staff and activity guides were unbelievably kind, outgoing, hospitable and positive. Always with a smile, and always eager to make our day brighter. Our kids were always felt like stars when interacting with staff members. All the rooms are perfect and have great ammenities (we stayed in the beach studio and Honeymoon aqua villa). Housekeeping is very thorough. The territory is impeccable! Food for full board guests is delicious, with excellent variety. The island is gorgeous - the water is perfect. I've recommended Kandima to all my friends, and recommend it to you too. 100 out of 10. Very disappointing

The resort charged us double fee on the speedboat, when I found out, they are not responsive. It is already 2 weeks after I request them a refund. And they just told me the accounting department is checking the record. So disappointed

The property was beautiful. Exactly as advertised in the website. The rooms and facilities were clean and well maintained. Great customer service. Dining options were also good. Overall a great experience for us.

Water Villa Paradise

Just amazing. Stayed three nights on a water villa and had the time of our lives, saw lots of fish while snorkelling and a sting ray at night. Food at the restaurants was delicious. The transfer from Male took about four hours including wait time (we did the local plane plus boat ride). The staff was amazing. Absolutely recommend to stay here.

Nice and relaxing during the time we went. Everything was awesome except one instance when we had our private picnic and the mosquitoes was eating us away. Do not do private picnic, dinner, etc on the other end of the island resort. Beside that everything was awesome.

Our 1st experience of the Maldives was excellent with Kandima. Our family room was well decorated with a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean. The food was amazing in all the restaurants and facilities around the island was 2nd to none. Would definitely go back again.

Considering you are on a secluded island, I loved that the property had so many fun activities. My husband and I went parasailing, jet skiing, went on the fun boat ride (i highly recommend all 3). There's also snorkeling, diving, sunset boat rides, and much much more! We spaced out a fun water activity for each day! I highly recommend the Aqua Villas and upgrading to the Platinum package (includes all food and beverages; including alcohol). We were celebrating our honeymoon and the entire staff at Kandima was so welcoming, hospitable, kind and just amazing!! They treated us so well and we enjoyed every minute of it! Everyone was always smiling, waiving hello, greeting us with such warmth. We never wanted to leave! The only thing I didn't like was the mosquitoes, but that has nothing to do with Kandima; it's expected on an island. I just happen to have a blood type mosquitoes LOVE!!

The whole place was amazing, like in paradise. You can find everything you need in one place restaurants, bars, kids club, water sports, activities and the staff is amazing- they like friends or family, they are very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful- make you feeling special. Would definitely recommend and hopefully can come back again.

Kandima Stay

Great stay with the family. Our kids only wanted to go back to the Kids Club, many thanks to Iva and Muncy who looked after them. Lots of wildlife on the island, with chameleons, bats, and even sharks swimming next to our room. Just beware of the winds! We left our clothes outside to dry and they were swept into the ocean.

Amazing property, hospitable staff

Kandima is an amazing and huge property. They have variety of rooms that you can choose from. We stayed 2 nights in beachfront room and 2 nights in aqua villa and they both were amazing. We travelled with our 3 year old and she had an amazing time especially at Kandiland. The staff is hospitable and very courteous. Food is good and they have certain activities at different restaurants every night. The beach is white but had a lot of small coral when we visited. Would love to visit again

Me and my family was exited for all. Foods service, cleanliness was excellent. It was really nice holiday for me and my family. Thanks to the hotel management for all.

One of our best Holidays.

We stayed for a week in a beach studio. Excellent service, pristine beach and lush vegetation. Buffet restaurants provide a great variety of food. Room was clean and comfortable. Various aquatic activities. Transfers from and to Malé were very well organized. Highly recommended destination.

Where do I start kandima was everything I dreamed of for our honeymoon and more from the moment you land in the sea plane the blue water and white beach is so beautiful. Great for photo opportunities there are loads of props everywhere! Kandima is picture perfect. We stayed both in the Jacuzzi Aqua Villa and the Ocean Pool Villa. Both we’re equally amazing. We loved the aqua villa for the view and the closeness to the sea, also the jacuzzi was great people moan it’s not hot which it’s not but the sun is hot enough and it’s a lovely alternative to a dip in the ocean we loved it on the downside it’s not as private as I would of liked the jacuzzi is visual from the walkway of people walking past and you can see through to the next door villas through the wood. Whereas the ocean pool villa was very private and far apart from the other other villas the view is also lovely but you cannot use the sea which was expected and we were lucky to see lots of dolphins swim by on most days it is noisier from the sounds of the ocean which I loved but it kept my other half awake so if your a light sleeper I recommend the water villa. There was a great variety of food at breakfast lunch and dinner we had half board which was sufficient. We used room service at lunch time which was great and always hot and fresh. The spa was possibly the best massage and facial I have had it was so relaxing.Staff were all really helpful especially Abu a lovely man who worked in the flavour restaurant.

The best vacation ever.

Amazing. The best vacation ever. The island is beautiful. The beaches are sandy white, the water crystal clear and the staff is super friendly. The food is delicious and of very high quality. There’s a huge variety of dishes in the buffet breakfast and dinner. The rooms are great. The resort is relatively new (about 2 years old), so everything looks still like new, and they paid attention to every little detail. I was a little disappointed when we arrived, and I found out that the Ocean Pool Villa that I had reserved has no access to the beach. But the staff, especially Moosa (thank you!!) did everything in their power to make us happy. We changed the room to a beach pool villa (which was completely amazing) for 3 nights, and spent the last two nights in an aqua villa, to have the “over water” experience of the Maldives. But my two young daughters felt completely in love with the beach pool villa. I would be happy to go there again and would recommend to anyone.

Great property and beautiful island however staff lacking service and attention to detail.To compete other hotels in Maldives they must improve on their service.
