Property is very beautiful. Rooms by the beach are very very nice. Food is very average. The owners were unfriendly. They displayed no manners in greeting people or even smiling. Friendliness is a very important feature of the Haitian culture.
It was a Reservation mistake I got charge for it I did not even attempt to go to the hotel I select the Wong hotel
The property by itself it wonderful . I love the location. The service is extremely poor. The water to take a shower is salty the didn’t clean the jacuzzi and the water turn green ! The food not that great and the bar there was almost nothing to drink not even a simple Bottle of beer ! That was very disappointing !
This property has salty running water out of the faucets. I tried letting the water run for ever. I asked for a different room and switched. It didn’t make any difference. Other guests had the same problem. Not to mention hot water was not available. The room doors had no safety. There were too many insects inside the rooms which many other guests also complained about. However, the food was very good there. The all inclusive food and drinks were really good. Nice beach areas. The rooms had cold A/C. They just need to clean up and make it more decent.
Their bar was incomplete, there was not much alcoholic drink, and those they had, wasn’t good quality
Food was excellent Workers are friendly and helpful I will definitely visit again
You guys need to stop selling room for this hotel very poorly managed.
There was no wifi, no welcome kit, no drinking water, no hot water All of that in the room There was no buffet, for breakfast and dinner The services was very poor Things that I like: I like the way they welcome me at the arrival, and the the security man was very friendly. Some of the waiters were very nice . I've been going over there for fifteen years and noting changed, there was no improvement
The overall experience with the stall and the food
The view, the room and the restaurant and the diversity and quality of the meal
The bathroom are very nasty with very little running water.
Boston wild .
Food was ok the 1 st day ,but, they did not have a variety like other hotel I have been ,at there is a woman there she was always on the phone, not really doing her job .
The property is really run down and outdated. The landscaping is hideous and it just looks like an old beach motel that they stopped maintaining. The hot water in our room didn’t work, so I asked 3 times to get it fixed before we were able to switch rooms (after their receptionist had lied and said they were all booked, which I knew wasn’t true). Our new room had a terrible ant problem. Not just on the walls and floors, but so many ants covered our bags. The food is fine, it is fresh, but not many options. The bar doesn’t offer much. The pool is super cloudy looking.
I liked the food, the only thing I didn’t like was the ants on the wall by my room and in the bathroom, along by the sink. Other than that, everything else was wonderful! I loved it!
Great to go there. It was a learning experience . Food and everything else were excellent
Check in was pretty quick. The rooms can use a little color, they are a bit boring and the couch was torn with the stuffings coming out, the lamp shade next to the bed was falling off but still functioning. They have a very small tv and a refrigerator in the room. Since you’re not spending alot of time in the room these rhings can be overlooked. The food is excellent! The beach however had alot of jelly fish early in the morning so we had to wait around 11-12 to go in the water. All in all is was a nice experience, its great that they upped the food and that its now all inclusive. They need to work on their drinks, they tend to be a bit watery or not good at all.
The staff are awesome, specially the waiters and the bartenders. MR
The roadway to the entrance of the Hotel was atrocious. It was pure rocks. The lobby of the Hotel was amazing but the rooms need major renovations. The food was great, Haitian cuisine. If you are looking for a place where there is entertainment, this is not the place. There was nothing to do besides swimming in the pool or the ocean. How much of that can you do???. Therefore you have no choice but to go to sleep. This Hotel have potentials but a lot needs to be done.
Uniquely located with a breathtaking view of the sea. Great place to unwind!
My kids had a great time in the kiddy pool. The food was good especially the breakfast. The staff is really pleasant. This hotel has been around for a long time, it needs some upgrades. Like the bathroom especially, the sink you have to fight with it to turn it on and it feels like it’s gonna fall off your hands. The entrance road, seriously that NEEDS to be done.
I like the outside of the property, the beach, staff and food. I did not like the room at all I paid for an ocean view on a second floor so I was told last August but I was placed on the first floor zero view. The bathroom looks terrible with mold, dirty wall, cracked tiles old faucet, very ugly counter top and cold water in the shower. The room was TERRIBLE. The property on the outside is IMMACULATE . Clean, all staffs are friendly, delicious food good security. They need to update the rooms including the old white towels that look yellow . They need to educate housekeeping. No shampoo in the bathroom, no wash cloths terrible. They should exterminate the rooms we killed 2 roaches I do not appreciate this part because I never have roaches in my house all my life. Do not want to bring them home with me after a trip.
Inhospitable and Unreasonable!
The day we were to arrive at Kaliko Beach Club, there were political protests in the area that prevented us from being able to get there. We learned of this the day prior to check-in, and attempted to change our reservations. The hotel refused to authorized either a change of date or a cancellation, and would not refund any of our money. We ended up being stuck paying for 2 all-inclusive nights that we were unable to ever use, as well as footing the unexpected expenses of emergency travel arrangements to get us safely home. The protests made international news and there were casualties. Surely the LEAST a resort could do is offer to reschedule the booking for a modest fee. The other place we had booked in Jacmel actually covered the cost of the accommodations when our travel plans were forcibly altered by the political situation.
The room was execellent they need to put more choice on the menu and a phone inside the room when u need them u doesnt need to go in the reception desk tospeak to someone
Nice location. There are no shows and activities. It's good for someone who just need a beach, pool, drink and food.
Not that bad the food was good except my room was too far away
Please use my review to help the hotel improving their service. 1- When I arrived on 10/20 there was a young man sitting at the desk on the lobby who didn't not welcme us. Fine! But he didn't know how to retrieve our information from the computer. He called for assistance. The service desk staff didn't hand out a brochure we had to ask about buffet schedule, bar and pool operations. 2- We did not like the first room located near the hotel entrance. You could smell the humidityin that room. We requested another one. There was no phone available in our room which was not convenient at all. Because during our second day 10/21 the toilet was clogged we used our cellphone to call the service desk, she took our request it was 7:30 am. 11:45 am I had to go to the service desk to find out why no one showed up to unclog the toilet. We went to eat at the buffet at 1:30 pm came back to our room at 3 pm. Our bed was not done, we needed new towels, bath tissue. Can you believe I had to go to the service desk to ask why our room was not clean? I was told, they have only one person doing it. Be patient. Guess what? No one showed up. I had to fix the bed myself to please my wife in order to calm her frustrations. Keep in mind We booked a room at Kaliko just to celebrate my wife's birthday but we did our best to overcome this unprofessional and frustrated situation. The food is excellent. The service from the waitresses is excellent! Staff at the buffet very courteous and helpful
Nice resort close to the beach. However, some rooms closer to the beach do not have internet access while other rooms do. Some rooms need updating in the bathroom as of of the rooms I booked did not have a working shower. Other than that, it was a good experience, staff are always ready to help.
The food wasn’t that good. The bar was sucks. Other than that everything else was good.
Family vacation
It was a good stay I just wish there was more activities for kids, overall I would do it again but it would not be a family trip maybe a couple's getaway. My other problem was the " free wifi" that didn't reach any of our rooms
The staff was wonderfull but management realy bad. They intimidate the staff so bad i felt embarrassed for that poor girl at the front desk.. they need to get a new management team.. my room was dirty and some old mattress may be 20 years old. Food wasn't that bad. Its a beautiful place but management is bringing it down. It was never like that when i stayed there a year back...
The first room they gave me was a total mess. The second room was excellent. The food was not bad. The staff was excellent a special thanks and recognition to Esther, Herbisson, Kerlyne To name just a few.
I can not control the AC ,the didn’t clean my room.but the food was good
I stayed for 1 night ,we where 13 of us. They said all inclusive it is true ,but for the snack,it’s not to interest, when i got there,my room wasn’t ready,I had to wait 1 hour to get it ,and get in moustique every where , that’s make me don’t sleep well. They towels doesn’t clean the water from the toilet was slow when I was talking a bath.so much to complain.I recommend the owner to take the situation on charge ,after that I think everything will be fine. Also talk to the bartender, tell them it’s unlimited everything, don’t be rude with the customers. For the entrance road to the hotel that’s need to take care also because a big place like that the entrance surpose to fix.thank you.
Most of the staffs were very nice with the exception of 1 electrician who was trying to fix something outside of my room's window after I was already check in my room. It would have been disaster if I had decided to take a shower too quick. The beach was very rocky. you need sandals. I was also very disappointed for they did not deliver on the special king size bad that I had reserved and paid for.
Total disappointment with the room, broken door bahroom lights. The food was terrible. We had to ask for towels.........
The views are amazing!....The morning checkin saff are beyond rude and were less than acomandating. The hotel rooms and bathrooms need a total update. I had a hole on my ceiling and it was a down pour that night. I personally will never go to that hotel again.
I like the welcome the staff gave us, we were a day late, they taking care of us. I can mention some names, Herby, Jennifer at the reception, Mustaky and also Bunetta at the dining room even though she was pregnant she make sure we were ok. Overall all the staff were wonderful, no complaint. The housekeeping were ok.
The front deak staff was rude. After coming off an 18 hour traveling day it would be nice to hear Bonjour! And not you’re here too early. A waitress that worked breakfast and lunch was amazing wildma?? I’m horrible with names, but I posted her photo. Maybe she can train the front deak staff on how to talk to and please customers. Her customer service was top notch! She always knew what I liked to drink and brought it to me! She asked every morning if I slept well and she alwys asked when picking up our plates if the food was good. We also loved Jonas who waited on the cabannas. He also always stopped to talk to us and asked us if we needed anything. He was always smiling and you could tell he loved his job. He was so kind to us and went out of his way! Also, our driver to and from PaP Dennie?? Was amazing. Very safe, timely, trustworthy, and again always spoke to us when he saw us! What a great guy and very friendly! The pool could be skimmed more than one time a day. There were a lot of leaves and dead bugs floating around by noon time. Friday and saturday was really crowded, but when we flashed our green bands we got to the front of the line. I loved the sandy beach and the cabannas. The room was very nice, air conditioned, hot water, and it was cleaned everyday with fresh towels dropped off. I wish they would put out more beach towels. Those were difficult to come by. And do not ask the girls at the front desk for them. They will tell you,“just wait”rude
This is my first bad experience in an inclusive hotel. Poor service. Customer service is 0.1 not enough staff to serve. I was doing an early check-out due the condition and there was no staff to process my check out security officer has to call someone who didn’t even know what he was doing. Because he could not give me a printout for my stay. I had to contact Expedia customer service to solve my issue. Second, food service not at all time we have something that can entertain people. Third, No phone in the room to call front desk for service. Fourth, I asked for an iron they could not provide me one. Not gonna say never, but it will be my last choice if I have to choose.
Simply Awesome
The staff at Kaliko Beach were simply awesome! My stay was a girls trip that had been extended due to political changes in the country. Immediately, management became re-assuring and accommodating to our needs. Cleanliness of our rooms was superior and the food was great. Even through their own discomfort of events happening in the capital, our safety was never in question. Thank you so much Kaliko for making me want to come back.
?
Reception staffs are very unprofessional .they don’t really know what they are doing.
Nothing, disapointment, what I saw online wasn't the same, and all inclusive was a disapointment too, every drinks you asked for, they couldn't make it, the food was horrible it's whatever they had you were forced to eat it.
Excellent hotel- Customer service is amazing.
Honeymoon gift
We gave this room to friends who just got married for their honeymoon. We had stayed before and knew what to expect. They were amazed. It was a dream trip for them. They couldn't believe how beautiful it was.
Nice close to the beach
I have asked to change my room and the staff members were excellent and the room was changed that was appreciative.
I won't be there anymore!
Crystal clear ocean and beautiful sunsets
Kaliko was a fantastic experience in Haiti! About an hour and a half taxi from the airport. The clean and well designed bungalows are just steps from crystal clear water and free beach front cabanas. All inclusive meals, Barbancourt Rum and Prestige Beer was convenient. Live traditional music at dinner and live DJ set on the weekends. Bring US dollars for taxi, tours, gifts, grilled lobster and fresh cut coconuts on the beach. Reef walkers or thick soled flip-flops are helpful to wear in the ocean. The mountains, sunsets, and well kept grounds are memorable. I will return for another long weekend. Everyone should visit Haiti!
Beautiful resort with beautiful beach view
I had a great time at Kaliko Resort, my kid's really enjoyed themselves, great customer service, clean room, food was great and all you can drink.
Great Stay
The staff was very responsive, the vendors on the beach were a little aggressive, but very helpful and open to negotiation. There's a ton to do. We went scuba diving with Jose (Pegasus Scuba) and he was very helpful and patient. We also went on jetskis with Jean and a boat ride for only $10pp. It was a wonderful vacation. The food was good and the drinks were strong, and if you wanted them stronger they were happy to oblige. I recommend tipping the staff, they'll never ask but they really appreciate it. They were so friendly I really didn't mind.
Nice beach but room is very old
I paid $200 for one day at Kaliko beach. During checking I paid for an ocean view but staff put me in a bungalow far away from the beach. When I requested to speak to management, I waited 30 mins but no one came out to talk to me. I ran into a manager by the bar. His explanation was I paid for "ocean view" not "ocean front". To me that is very deceiving. Beach is beautiful but cleanliness of the room, customer service is lacking from this place. If you are looking for a day at the beach then Kaliko is the place for you. But if you want all the perks of a nice hotel then do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Room had no amenities, missing tub and fridge, room floor was wet upon entrance and no one ever came to clean it up, staff friendly and beach area nice (though rocky)
Staff is wonderful, security present. Beautiful views and good food. Rooms are good, beds clean, water takes a while to get hot, but overall very nice stay. we will return!
Great view and kind staff. Food was good. Few items that didn't bother us as we were there to help an orphanage, not a vacation. No hot water and men cleaning leaves off roof at 6 am that could have been done anytime. So a good spot for a family to go, just laugh at little things.
Does not hold up to advertisement
Beach view room has no beach view, only small view from one window. Beach is rocky, no sand, food so so and rooms are dated. Staff is good and pool is nice. Good thing is drinks are included in price.
Nice weekend getaway with the perfect beach
Everything as far as all inclusive was very nice the best part was the gorgeous beach, the only complaint I have is the there was no water pressure in my shower head but the room was kept clean with compfy AC check in was a breeze and all the staff were great it was a quiet and relaxing weekend perfect 😍
Disappointing for several reasons
I have visited this hotel several times before and this was the worst experience yet. No clean beach towels were ever available, or we had to constantly wait for them to be restocked. There is now a DJ by the pool and the volume is excessivley loud. Music by the pool is a great idea but it was so loud you could not have a conversation without yelling. In addition, the music being played in the afternoon was hard core with explicit lyrics that are not appropriate for children. Considering the hotel is advertised for families, and there were several children in the pool, the DJ showed absolutely no judgment in song selection or volume. We paid for three people in the room and were only given two bath towels (no bath mat, no hand towels and no face towels). No phones in the rooms so we had to walk back to reception to ask for additional towels and waited 20 minutes while the housekeeping staff discussed who was at fault (in front of us). I was prevented from walking from the dining area to the bar after dinner with my glass of wine. The walk is approximately 30 feet and when I questioned the purpose of the rule, the hostess informed me that "she had no idea" but that I should leave my full glass of wine on the table in the dining room and get a new glass at the bar?? There is very little competition for all-inclusive resorts in Haiti so I doubt anything will change but in my experience over the past six months, Kaliko has gotten worse.
Double charge
The hotel charged me after Expedia already charged me for my stay. It took several weeks to be resolved and have the charge reversed. I also paid for a room with an ocean view and didn’t receive a room without the ocean view and not discount was applied. Bad experience and wouldn’t stay there again.
Very nice hotel. Staff is very Friendly and accommodating. Food is delicious. Pool could use a good scrub but the kids enjoyed how big the kids section was. Would recommend!
Beautiful view but disappointing hotel
Karibe seems to be an amazing Caribbean experience according to the website but looks are very deceiving. Most of the amenities their hotel website show are not available yet, according to the staff, however that is not what the website indicated. The beach is very Rocky so make sure you take water shoes. We hoped for fruity Caribbean drinks but received the same drinks in plastic cups. The staff was not helpful and upon checking in we received no information about when meals and snacks we're but found out from another guest instead. Very disappointing.
Family Visit to Kaliko
Our family was doing some visiting around the area and decided to stay nearby where there was a pool and beach. We have children ranging from teen to toddler. The all inclusive was good. Free drinks at the bar and free meals. Be prepared as the meals are Haitian cuisine. The food was very good but some of my kids are picky and ate rice, noodles and rolls a lot. The pool was awesome for my toddlers as I don't think it was ever deeper than 4 feet. So they could go around to most of it with little danger. The beach was extremely beautiful but very rocky. Don't plan on making sandcastles or anything as there is very little sand. Rooms were comfortable with cold AC. Hot showers. Clean sheets and towels. You cannot use the wifi in the room, only near the pool area. They have lots of security around so safety was not a concern. For the money, was a great place to stay.
Great Resort
I had an amazing time there. The locals are very fun as well! The staff are amazing!
I had low expectations.
Although I expected little, I was still a bit disappointed. Rooms are very basic, good hot water though. Food was hit and miss. Hotel staff was not very friendly (with the exception of Jean Samuel who was great). The beach is all rocks, if you don’t have those rubber shoes to go in the water, you will have a difficult time. The pool water was extremely warm and hazy. Didn’t venture in there. I understand that it’s Haiti and I didn’t expect luxury, but a bit more friendliness.
Best "All-Inclusive" resort in Haiti
There's very limited options for all inclusive drinks and meals in Haiti, with an ocean front. This place satisfies those desires. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager is approachable and listens to the guests. The food is true to Haiti, although there are more options that can be added like rhum cake and akasan, marinad, aransol, etc.. This is a relaxed atmosphere as opposed to neighboring resorts which tend to be more lively and cater to the energetic crowd. The lobsters and fish on the beach cooked by local fisherman are amazing! At first we thought it unfair to compare this resort to rest of the Caribbean due to recent setbacks and hardships but Kaliko holds its ow quite well. Can't wait for renovations to take place, then kaliko can be what it has potential to be in relation to other Caribbean resorts.
False advertisement Fraudulent Hotel Overall this hotel could not be considered all-inclusive. The facilities were under construction during my stay and I believe that they should have advertised this. The customer service was poor however the food quality itself was not good it's 0. The overall facility was very poor. There were no activities to participate in and this led to a disappointing experience. I hope the new management does a better job and compensates the guests that endured this inconvenience.4.0Fair "Fraudulent Hotel" There is only 1 restaurant and 1 bar. Very limited supply/options of food and drinks. The running water was brown. The pool was dirty we get sick from the pool/Restaurant we get food poisoning. We had to call the front desk to clean our room, and when they did come, it wasn't until 4 pm. There is 1 pool and no water park. The hotel was very disappointing and not at all, what is listed on the site. Most of the staff's were very helpful throughout our stay including Samuel Luc, James, Angelo, Walbert, Ester, Junior from the bar they're great assets for your Resort . this lady name Lodely from the front desk was very rude and unprofessional with no job ethic.
Kaliko should try harde
The shower did not work properly The room is outdated, bathroom not clean Rats were playing in front of the room The food was terrible. I was very disappointed The only thing I liked was the troubadour band. The staff was okay
Very nice hotel close to the beach.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Kaliko Beach Club. The facility was very nice and it was not so far from Port-au-Prince. The beach, the swimming pool, food and staff were very interesting. it's a very nice place to go on vacation. However, my wife and I think they could improve the place to make it more family friendly.
Staff was amazing (specifically Jude he was very helpful and attentive), security was on point, and the food was delicious (with free alcohol beverages!!!). Local vendors were nice and dont harass you. Overall wonderful stay, I will be back.
I had enjoy my weekend stay the pool was nice the beach extremely nice the view amazing the owner needs to do something about the road when you are getting in to many Rock in the street as businesses women the entrance was not pleasant at all
All in all a good stay.
All in all a good stay. The room was clean and big, although it needs a bit of maintenance and TLC. Good Haitian food at the buffet for all three meals we had ... and smiling wait staff. Check in was pretty quick. Pool area is clean and well maintained. The beach is a bit rough, could use some extra sand brought in; but nice chairs and loungers sort of made up for it. Wi fi worked pretty well.
Nice Facility, Friendly staff members
I stayed at the hotel previously and enjoy my stay. This time around we stayed at the Junior King Suite and the room was beautiful however for some reason there were a lot of flies in the room not sure if it is because the patio is joined with the bathroom and I don't like flies. Another thing I would have like to see more Haitian food on the menu, the food was too Americanized. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
A really nice place to get away!
From sunrise quiet calm to glorious sunset, how can you not love this place? Charming, welcoming, great rooms, helpful cheerful staff. Bring water shoes to the beach pebbles doesn't stop you from enjoying the water. Also good value for your money as it is all inclusive. Count on efficient Vincent Depatie, manager , to solve any issues you have. Can't beat the cost of airport transfer either. A real find and a really nice place to stay for a short or long time as we did. Looking forward to our next opportunity to go to what has become our favorite get away destination.
There were a few staff member that were very friendly and helpful but most were not or did not seem to have proper training.
Wonderful paradise
We went a week after hurricane Maria, although it was raining and still a little windy the sun still gave us a beautiful rise in the morning and a Wonderful SunSet. I can't explain the friendliness and the kindness of the staff from the hotel. Highly Recommended with eyes closed. All you can eat, with all you can drink.
Recommended
This was my first stay with a friend. The buffet was excellent, the pool was usually crowded & I believe it could have been better filtered. The beach was nice, but because of many rocks some type of beach shoe should be worn . The language barrier with staff was frustrating, although they were very friendly. The shuttle service was not in operation, but they had a very nice and reliable taxi service ( driver does not speak English) The hours for the great snacks offered at the bar went quickly and one may have 2 wait 15 or more minutes to get some brought out and if you weren't right up and waiting they'd be gone again. Sometimes others pushed ahead to get seconds while those who waited to get a first time sometimes gave up .The manager Vincent was always on hand and very nice. He works very hard on trying to accomodate guests with their needs or questions.

I booked a trip for my wife and I only to arrive to find the property closed. 300 miles from home and nowhere to go.
