Nice Stay

It is a nice solid hotel

I like the fact its a well known international brand and easily accessible to shops, restaurant snd banks. I gound it very convenient. Cleaners were active. Not enough food variety though.

I was in town for the Houston half marathon. Originally, I booked the wrong JW, however I was able to change the reservation to the correct location and it was very accommodating. It was very convenient. Hotel was clean and friendly service.

Lovey property

Friendly staff and clean rooms

Not sure how this hotel has a 5.0…Definitely NOT the Marriott quality I am used to. The parking garage ticket gate is long overdue for an upgrade. Coming out of the garage was an adventure as there are no signs to direct you to the exit-going straight leads you to a sketchy back side of a building . The elevators were DIRTY-fingerprints and smudges everywhere. Room was outdated and could stand some modernization. Turned on bathroom sink and brown water came out, dirt ring in the tub, and hair on the shower walls. The room was close to the elevators so we could hear it loud and clear. I will say the front desk did attempt to look for a “better” room but no availability. She offered comp breakfast (6am-11am) which would have been nice had we been kept up by the elevator “music” all night. I would not stay here again.

An amazing experience. First time!!!

Clean

I stayed here one night while my power was out during hurricane beryl. The hotel itself was very pretty, room had a nice view. Staff was very nice as well. However parking situation was awful. They have a parking garage that is horribly claustrophobic and the woman at check in said she would program my key to open the gates to let me in and out. However it didn’t work when I tried. The next morning when I went to work I watched the car in front of me struggle with his key and just end up hitting the “help” button until the gate opened, so I did the same thing. When I came back I ended up parking across the street in the galleria’s garage, but I likely wasn’t supposed to but I was only running up to grab my stuff and check out. I do not recommend taking a car to this hotel but you need a car in this city so that’s a problem. If you can afford valet then it wouldn’t be an issue.

Comfortable, clean room. Several staff members weren’t up to a JW Marriott standards. Specifically an unpleasant checkin and an overly distracted waiter in the restaurant.

Quick stay

Place was great but for the price I paid it didn't feel luxury. Great business hotel but lacked in any other appeal. I booked a room based off of the description that stated bathtub...had HIGH hopes of getting a relaxing bath and was saddened when it didn't even have the combo tub/shower set up.

2 day business trip

Internet access isnt free is a $20 per day cost unless you are a member of bonvoy which i am but could never get it to recognise my membership. Spoke to guest service that credited them but then found the charges when i checked out. Also my room was opposite the elevators and had the noise of the motors all night which initially i didnt think was so bad but after a couple of hours was very intrusive. Make sure you are not in room 19 or 20 on the 21st floor!

Liked everything but be warned it you stay in 1915 or any upper floor 15’s the elevator noise will keep you awake

Perfect Hotel

Literally the best hotel overall I’ve ever stayed at. Wife and I come for a weekend getaway for our anniversary every year and, God willing, we will continue to do so for the next 50 years

The Hotel was clean and comfortable.The staff friendly and helpful.Maybe my mind wasn’t open but the restaurant looked liked it didn’t fit with the rest of the hotel.

I love this location, and the staff is amazing. I highly recommend staying at any JW Marriott!

If you are a "usual" Marriott customer, don't stay

Totally surprised and disappointed! I would normally stay in a Courtyard Marriott, thinking I would have an "upgrade", to my surprise, service was horrible! The servers in the restaurant were not attentative, the front desk staff was never there - or waiting for them to come out and take care of your request was just not acceptable.

When I checked in they didn’t event looked at me and they didn’t explained to me anything, they just asked for my credit card and that was it, they didn’t even helped me with my luggage and the men that was in the valet when I checked out was rude and didn’t looked presentable, I was very disappointed. I honestly wouldn’t go back to that hotel.

Not as good as usual

I had no idea there was free parking and wasn’t told when I asked about parking. I chose this hotel because it was the first to pop up when I searched for a hotel with free breakfast. When I went to go get breakfast Saturday they told me it was 32$/ adult which is way unaffordable. Sunday I ate the breakfast because we were starving and didn’t pack breakfast since we thought it was included as it usually is in Marriott hotels. The food was VERY bland. We were locked out of our hotel room due to the battery on the door dying. The house keeper had to make multiple calls for help because nobody came so we sat on the floor in the hall to eat after nearly 30 minutes of being locked out.

I didn't like anything. There was many issues with our room being dirty and the worst was the dirty pool. Room would get this drug smell on and off throughout the vents that I'm sure that was what caused my young daughter to get a headache.

The property is old. The lights on the building say JW ARR! The bedroom had a little mold in the bathroom on the wall by the shower. The outlets are pretty old. The rain sensor is rusted. They need to do a remodel.

Location is wonderful. Rooms and hotel are decorated in good taste. Room rates comparable to other hotels with same amenities.

Fantastic staff at a great hotel

The hotel is great. Rooms are nice and well equipped. Location is spot on. And the staff…absolute rockstars. Every single one of them was courteous and bubbly. Special mention to Martha Q at breakfast and Cecilia at the bar…both of them made our stay there just a bit more special.

Great friendly staff, extremely accommodating. Property has a big gym, decent pool & is close to everything.

Paying for Internet on 2022?

I like it in general. Not something fancy but, functional. What did not worked is: been a Gold Marriot Bonvoy I was surprised of not getting any perks and also I was charged for Internet connection! I think the last time I paid for Internet it was about 15 years ago! I hope it was a mistake and they will take an action of refund me for the $16.18/day that they charged me. The other "surprise" was to pay $46/night for the Valet parking that was too much for the service, number of drivers and time to get your car. Two things that I think they need to re-evaluate. Thanks, Marcus.

Where do I start? I walked in to a check-in line 10 people deep. The bar/ restaurant staff ignored us standing at the bar, busying themselves with receipts, putting away glasses while we stood in front of them! I called 3 x to ask for sheets for our fold out sofa bed, ended up falling asleep before reminding we hadn’t received them at 1am

Not a great place to stay

The staff was very helpful, however service overall was awful. There was no complimentary breakfast for the price of the stay. There was no shuttle services from and to the airport. I will not book again.

Small room , expensive compare to other same area hotels, no cofee in room, super expensive bar. Not what I expected for a JW Marriott. Hyatt next door far superior and much better pricing.

Great place next to The Galleria

Great weekend place next to The Galleria for a shopping trip. Very clean and modern. Looks recently updated. Very comfortable bed!

The horse restaurant and bar service was extremely slow and the food we ordered was not cooked thoroughly.

I loved that the hotel was gorgeous and conveniently close to everything. The only thing that we had issues with was the parking garage. It qas pretty cluttered, confusing and our passes did not work when trying to leave or return. Yet, the front desk manager made it right with giving us free valet instead. Great service!

This hotel needs a remodel

I initially booked one room but checked in early and paid for 2 rooms... I want to make sure our bill was correct. Should be $239 for 2 rooms for 2 nights. The room service charges were correct. Thank you, The Tanners, Marriott Reward Members

Great stay, clean, good room service, friendly staff

The pool is really small and the room service was lomited.

They accidentally gave our room away so we were upgraded to a presidential suites. However, we had to wait three more hours until we could check into our room. With it being a quick trip, it really cut into our day and things we had planned.

Great hotel with friendly staff!

Everything was pretty amazing. The only minor issues were that the hotel’s key system was down so we couldn’t get a key right away but their security was quick to escort us to our room. Also, valet took longer then expected to bring our vehicle only because a bus was blocking an exit and the valet drivers had to take an alternate route and if you’re familiar with the Galleria area you know the traffic is insane. Of course these are things out of their control. Despite those hiccups would stay there again.
