Hotel in midst of renovations....
We have stayed at Jerusalem gardens a few times before, but this time we were disappointed. When making our booking we did note that there would be no pool or exercise room because of renovations. However we soon discovered that there were a few other drawbacks to the renovations, including significant noise starting 8:30AM, which made it impossible to stay in our room; and no parking available. The breakfast was barely average. Other things that one expects from decent hotels -- like internet and the ability to checkout at noon were not available.
Area around hotel being renovated except no work being done due to war situation.
Area outside undergoing renovations except nothing happening at this due to war conditions. Hotel very old which was very evident. Restaurant facilities very good
Not clean hotel smells very bad very expensive and the people they were resident in the hotel. They were aggressive ..
Rooms were totally disgusting and dirty. We asked to change rooms and even the new room was uninhabitable. We checked out four days early and stayed elsewhere
Poor parking.
The hotel is actually a construction site. The pool, gym and parking are gone. The room itself was updated, big and nice. Elevators are new too.
Nasty hotel with lame front desk help
Under construction. Wasn’t able to use pool or facilities. Manager at front desk blamed me for not knowing about pool in a very rude and condescending way. Was t worth the money even if it had a pool. Run down slightly grungy room.
.
People very unpleasant
First off, the website says there is parking. Before I booked, I called to confirm that there is parking, which they confirmed. I show up last night, low and behold there’s no parking. Come into the hotel, security guard is completely spaced out, need to summon someone to check me in. The lobby looks shabby. Then it goes from bad to worse. Come to the room, the bathroom is has patched holes, the grout is gross, and the bathtub is tiny. The lamp shades have good caked on, there is a pacifier on the floor, indicating they didn’t clean the room. But then things go from bad to worse, I take the blanket off the bed to lay down and the sheets are stained!?!?! This was beyond awful. The price was good, if the hotel was clean. Wouldn’t even mind the shabbiness, but the dirt!!!
Great staff but on street paid parking only
I visit several times per year but this time I had to park on the street which cost me 3 tickets and over $150. Staff always great. no ramp up entrance for luggage & no more "happy" hour. Great location.
they should have made it much more clear that the property was very loud due to construction. Also, the check in process was a big problem since the hotel did not have the guest listed in their system
Nice customer service
the property is a short walk to the light rail and one stop to the train station that can take you anywhere you want to go in Israel. The property has undergone some renovation but the rooms are dated, though they are comfortable and met our needs. Cost of the room was affordable. We had Friday night meals, which were $45/person. Shabbat lunch is the same price.
Very friendly staff
Room was clean and well supplied with toiletries. Received coupon for free coffee and pastry, but the dining room opened at 9 and we were out before 9 am. The pool and spa were being repaired, so we didnt get to use them
Heavy drilling noise early in the morning.
Overall the staff were good, however there is building works just outside the hotel and works start from 7am, and this was heavy drilling on a rock, I couldn’t sleep in anymore. nevertheless it’s located quite close to centre and it was reasonable price.
Needs renovation desperately
Found the hotel quite difficult to access and find.also booked this specific hotel for the pool which wasnt in service. There is a wedding hall downstairs which made it quite noisy too
Great value hotel
Great value for money. Fab location, amazing breakfast and comfy beds. Bathrooms need modernising and carpet could do with a hoover. Biggest problem is that, despite the booking email from the hotel itself saying that everything is open, both pools are closed and will probably remain that way.
no pool
It had porches and nice outdoor
Hotel was generally good and nice. Only disappointment was that pool was closed and will be for some time. Had assumed from the pictures of the pool that it would be open albeit it didn’t mention a pool in the description
Good and convinient
Cleanliness
Nice hotel except for the construction which created lots of dust and noise.
Breakfast is a joke. No longer is there a full buffet breakfast. Now it is served in the coffee shop and only beginbs at 8am and only very limited menu. Nothing like what i was used to when i came to the Jerusalem Gardens.
Stay away from this property.
This hotel is not ready for guests. The rooms desperately need updating. Old, dirty, torn carpeting, cramped room, no room service. Housekeeping could use a refresher course. Two days they took our towels but didn’t give us clean ones. The towels that they did replace were tissue thin. Tiny bars of soap. A call to front desk produces no results. Front entrance is up several steps making check in and out difficult with luggage. On the plus side, the lobby floor cafe had excellent food although the menu is very limited. Lobby is redone and very nice. Would never stay there again.
Recommends staying at the Jerusalem Gardens Hotel, we stayed in the suite and everything was perfect
Upon booking, we were assured breakfast buffet, but unfortunately there was none. Although the breakfast overall was reasonable, we had to choose between orange juice and a hot drink. The lady who served us was friendly, but greatly understaffed, overworked and as a result a bit disoriented. A shame that they didn't follow up on what was promised upon our booking. The property overall is not well managed, from the top floors one can observed the rubbish in the yard, hidden in the green area. The property seems neglected, handles don't work properly, hinges are noisy at night. We asked for extra towels and were told...come and get them, when we were already in bed...good location close to Navon train station.
Air conditioning not working
the staff was very nice but the hotel is dirty and very neglected
Bad hygiene
Tourist trap - stay away!
Terrible hotel, such a waste of money... I have worked in a hotel myself as a cleaner for 7 years, so I know what I’m talking about. The toilet was dirty (there was hard poop under the toilet seat which I couldn’t remove), the floors were dirty (a fake nail and leftovers of nuts on the floor), the towels are thin, the balcony had no furniture, the airco is very noisy (even with earplugs in I could hear it), the roads are super noisy (also at night), the water boiler looks gross, the toilet paper is thin and cheap, the pages on the booklet about Jerusalem were stuck together with some sticky substance (!), there is no guest information booklet, the staff is unfriendly (didn’t know that I paid extra for the dinner and breakfast and almost kicked me out of the dining room), the door of the bathroom was broken, the bedside light on the right side didn’t work, there is no “do not disturb” sign, the food for dinner is meh (there were black, curly hairs in the rice), the bed is very hard, the “minibar” is just a tiny regular fridge which was completely empty, the water pressure is very hard. The doors of all the rooms shut with a BANG and you can hear everything on the corridor. Conclusion: It’s more a very expensive hostel, definitely NOT a 4 star hotel and it’s very expensive for what it is. I didn’t take my flip flops, because I thought there would be hotel slippers - big mistake. I will never ever stay here again! Luckily it was just for 1 night. Horrible.
The room was very organized but not clean at all. I think they'm just arranging the room without cleaning between guests.
excellent food location pool etc highly .... reccomende
Rooms were very small and rundown. There was a very bad sewage smell in the halls
Great location ....... helpful staff.... reccomend highly for business or pleasure
The male staff was very nice and friendly. The female security staff was rude and couldn't get off their phone to even hold the door as I was pulling heavy luggage. One security guard was even sleeping when I got my shuttle in the morning.
Nice Place :)
Nice enough place and good price for the area. Very close to the government ministries and the Israel museum. Accessible from the train station/central bus station by walking (~600 metres) and also on the light rail. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The location is great for car travel but not so much for walking.
Avoid at all costs
The condition of the first room offered was appalling. Bad paint, filthy tiles and grouting in bathroom and furniture in a state more appropriate for the scrap. An alternative room offeers was little better. Breakfast poor, little or no service and food appeared to spend hours without being replaced or replenished
Great hotel
Clean room. Great breakfast. Nice service. The only negative point is as follows. Entering and exiting the car park required me to beep my horn for several minutes, to get the attention of the guards. Often I would have to leave my car and walk up to reception to notify them and I would have to beep again. Just install a bell or sensors.
tired, service could be better, decent breakfast
A little tired - had to flag up many issues and only after a week did one member of staff take all the problems on board and actually get us another room. There were more things that could have been improved for a better overall experience but didn't dare mention! Building around the hotel and in Jerusalem generally is extensive, crazy in fact, so from the hotel - with the balcony doors locked we could hear diggers and construction vehicles nearby until late - from the first room we could hear music from the many weddings held in the hotel until 11pm some nights. Decent breakfast, 10-15 mins walk over the bridge into bus station/ tram/ trains, central location.
Shabby hotel, bath tub leaked from the bottom, not really clean. Very very basic. Food for Israel was fair and not a great selection. The lobby was sparkly decorated with limited seating.
Like everything......................... .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheap price needs upkeep!
Not clean
Not a 5 star but had a comfortable bed and was convenient to the lightrail train.
Avoid this hotel
So dirty. All areas badly kept. Whether it was the dining room, the pool area or the spa area. I had no desire to use any of the facilities. Very disappointed for the price paid.
Garden and spa
Very good location to the tram which connects to the whole city. Nice, clean pool and room was fine. Front desk very friendly and helpful
Jerusalem Gardens
Great for the price.....very comfortable beds.....clean but bedrooms could do with an update!
excellent food location staff pool a1 highly reccomend
great staff and food. a1 location highly reccomend
Convenient location. Near tram. Excellent breakfast. Carpeting needs better vacuuming. Needs better cleaning in general.
Property was okay but likely would not stay here again for more than a night or 2. Front desk staff not friendly - we waited about 10 minutes for them to show up at check in. Her English was not good and she acted like we were inconveniencing her from whatever she was doing. Free parking in covered garage behind hotel BUT only 24 spaces so you are not guaranteed one. Saw several spaces taken up by taxis. Single lane to get in and out.Truck blocked it, no driver, it took 20 minutes to get someone to move it. A car was parked outside of garage entrance during our stay that made it more tricky to get in and out. If you do not get in only alternative is paid street parking (for which you need an app that requires an Israeli phone number). Room was clean and acceptable. Has pool but swim times are limited.
I booked a family room and they gave me a regular room, saying it is a family room. I got there it was 100 Degrees outside and the AC wasn't working. I called the front desk 5 times till they sent someone to "fix" it. He told me in a half hour if it is still not fixed call the front desk and they will send you a fan. About an hour and a half later someone finally brought a fan. I had to call the front desk 6 times till finally someone came to bring a new box of tissues. (the one in the bathroom had 2 tissues left when we got there.) NOT RECOMMENDED.
Nice pool and spa facilities despite strange hours poll open from 8pm until 11.30 pm. Please note single sex bathing. Men and women on alternate days. The room i was in wad a bit tired and outdated. Parking can be a problem especially if like me you are disabled. Very convenient for public transport.
Jerusalem gate May 18
While the hotel desperately needs modernising and refurbishing the beds were very comfortable and the food really great and very good value and location
Nothing special breakfast very good rooms could be à bit more homely
Arrived 5:30 pm & told they had no room and sent us to Crown Plaza for 1 night (a few blocks away). But that was wrong hotel & had to wait for them to take us to another hotel on other side of city, where we waited until 11:30 for them to get room ready. Manager of JG rudely informed me they were under no obligation to pay for cabs or tell us they had no room & allow us to make other arrangements, which we could have stayed at our friends for free. Got into JG Tuesday and room was dirty with plaster, peeling paint and candy wrapper on floor. Only had 2 hangers until Thursday when I went to desk clerk for 3rd time.
It seemed that it was a nice place at one time. Seemed a little uncared for. Chipped and stained furniture in the room, grime around the shower fixtures in the room, just needs an overhaul. Staff was polite and helpful and lobby was nice, rooms themselves just were somewhat aged and older.
I could not checking after nominated and promised time. Free car park space was not available despite all booked residents are guaranteed free car parking. Staff had very difficult attitude when they find all time to refuse a standard service. Room we checked in had dirty linen and staff claimed that it was freshly washed. We asked to change the room and the new room linen was also not fresh or old. We found that property was not well ventilated that carperts in two rooms we visited and corridors smell badly. I would not recommend anybody to visit this hotel. The most disappointing fact was that the General Manager failed to discuss my concerns despite my request to bring the above issues to his attention. I also witnessed how front desk staff person had inappropriately touched a young security girl without any concerns that several guests were not impressed with their actions.
Very bad staff
When we reach the hotel supposed to checking time 3 pm and we got room 7 pm..staff was so rude everytime..they did not clean the room everyday.. always dirty..this was best hotel experience in my whole life..
parking was a bis hassle, every time you park you need the security inside the hotel to respond, and then they start to question you
i have stayed here many times. to sum it up, it was all great. i was fortunate to meet rak. b-d,, and she has made my stay even better friendly helpful staff. great location..excellent pool/spa /jacuzzi highly recommend
This is a great hotel choice if you want to be near the central bus station and the light rail. Rooms are spacious with comfortable pillows and breakfast was amazing! This hotel is off a busy street, so if you like a quiet room, request a high floor.
Perfect location and staff would highly reccomend. Thanks ......
The staff at the front desk was one of the most kind staff I’ve experienced! Guys in the fitness/pool area were great too! Loved the bartender. Very pleasant stay
Was a nice hotel, inexpensive and had good food and accommadations
Our trip to Israel!!
We were first put in a room which was still not set up and dirty. I called and asked to be moved. We were put into a room on the 8th floor. It was nice and we stayed for 5 days. We went away for the weekend and came back, for 4 more days. They put us in another room which was on the pool side. It was very nice, we saw a few weddings from our window. The breakfast was very nice also!!
Stayed 10 days...didnt change the sheets or even straighten out the sheets eac dsy...jyst the blankets....didnt clean tea cups or replenish tea...first day didnt empty garbage...elevators are ridiculous.....no ramp for entering or leaving building or lobby with carraige or luggage!!!
Room service was subpar...elevators are terrible....no ramp for bringing in luggage or leaving...
The hotel was booked to capacity and did not seem to be able to cope with the demand. The room was not adequately cleaned, and the bathroom plumbing did not function properly. The bar fridge in the room did not work correctly and there was food from the previous guest in the freezer. The staff was very courteous and tried to be helpful but it seemed that their resources were limited.. The dining room was run much more efficiently and the food was tasty, fresh, and replenished constantly as needed, even with the high demand. The garden and pool were pleasant, but I would not recommend this hotel at all when demand is high in August and during the holidays.
very nice and friendly staff! if worth the moeny. comfortable room.
Bad Choice Jerusalem Gardens Hotel
Reception service was zilch, staff could not handle the influx of reservations and were rude to being unhelpful, 4 staff members were at the reception desk at 15:00. Dining room service attendant was absolutely rude ordering me to sit at a table of 4 after assuming that I belong to a group...Would have liked to hit him for his rudeness. The housekeeping girl was the ONLY pleasant and friendly person the entire 2 night stay. Deliberate door slamming was a peace breaker. Dinner and Breakfast was expensive and very simple to not being tasty. Hotel charged 25 nis more than the advertised price.
OK hotel. Hosted loud wedding and bar mitzvah parties on the patio that lasted after midnight. Food OK not great
Filthy and run down. Asked multiple times to have balcony cleaned of rubble and was ignored. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Lousy breakfast. Spa was moldy and ceiling looked like it would collapse. Amazingly, bed was comfortable and a/c worked, and being near the light rail was a plus - but not enough of a plus to stay there ever again.
Good ....... good .........................
terrible all around. I would like a refund noise was horrendous from the generator. sleepless nights from the noise
Noisy customers
The wall is too thin and can listen the noisy from other room
Jerusalem Gardens & Spa
Chose this hotel based on previous stay when it was part of Leonardo brand. Back then, food was elaborate and fantastic (cheesecake, lasagna, casserole, stews), rooms clean, nice toiletries and service pleasant. Now it is different - simple and scaled down. A good base for tours, but distant from city centre. After obtaining a late check-out for noon, was shocked to find security knocking at door at 11 a.m. and speaking no English, only adding to confusion. Good memories but disappointed that standard has not been maintained. High guest turnover means limited personal attention and not much care for details. Dining areas swarming with rowdy children, no safety deposit box and housekeeping cleaning into late evening.
Disappointing over-priced, last minute told breakfast not included, photos misrepresent. Air-conditioning mal-functioned, asked for extra towels several times before delivered - would never recommend
Nice hotel
Nice hotel , but too many stairs between street level and lobby. Had to carry three suitcases by my self. No help from staff upon arrival. Also requires decoration upgrades (too old looking rooms and hallways) price is fair.
Decent Hotel
Good hotel. Small room but well kept. Wonderful assortment of foods for breakfast. Nice little cafe in lobby level. Good meals in dining room for dinner. 2 blocks from light rail. Good choice overall.
Very run down
Hotel is very run down and the staff are scarce. They forgot to replace my bath towel and gave me hand towels in the evening when I asked at from desk. Phone in room was broken too! Breakfast was ok. Area is very central. Parking is available but can be tight.
Happy customer
I come back to this hotel time and time again. Friendly staff. Very good value and fabulous breakfast buffet. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool and fitness facilities. Also an excellent resteraunt on the top floor
Nice hotel in Kiryat Moshe, close to Beit HaKerem
the hotel is centrally located in the western part of Jerusalem, close to the central bus station, a light rail ride to many other places, the kotel and yad vashem. Rooms are comfortable; nice clientele and busy. We have been at the hotel before and always liked it.
Pretty good.
Lipstick on a Pig
Don't know where to start...truly horrible staff(a few exceptions) Management should remind employees that they are in the service business. Risen and obnoxious front desk clerks to brazenly hostile busboys in the mornkng braakfast room. A few positive things ...great location a few hundred meters from the light rail. Morning breakfast selection was awesome and differed each of the 4 days of our stay. Lobby is nice but heaven forbid if you're handicapped. Entrance stairs are steep and no offer of assistance with luggage. The elevators were probably in their peak 40 years ago. The room was functional but very dated. The beds were comfortable but the bottom fitted sheet was too small for the mattress. Stayed that way for two days. Upon checkin a quick inspection of one of the beds revealed very large and noticeable urine stain. House keeping replaced sheets very quickly. Overall facility is very old and in need of repairs, maintenance and upgrades. Some areas look fine but walk 20 feet. I could've overlooked the obvious state of disrepair of the hotel if it weren't for the rudeness of the staff. Have never ever encountered such blatant unprofessional attitudes in a service organization. Stay away and avoid the grief
very nice
wonderful
