Very good stay

It was first time to stay at Jacarandas. We chose it to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, and we were very pleased. It came highly recommended by friends that have oftentimes stayed here. Staff was excellent, professional, and always helpful. We will continue to recommend and return ourselves.

More private beach than the other resorts in the area

The property is absolutely NOT disability friendly at all. It was even impossible to get a cushion for the rattan patio chair outside of our room, despite repeated requests. This made the beautiful patio otherwise useless. The internet is completely useless as well. I’ve traveled the world, but cannot recommend this place. However, the staff is amazing.

The hotel is in a prime location but could benefit from a major facelift. Staff are nice and offer friendly service

Gorgeous beach.

Great service, good location and good value.

Quiet and peaceful. Beachfront rooms are excellent locations. Excellent beach. Good swimming pool. Very good food. Supersport sports channels and very good TV reception in each room. Afternoon tea and cakes served by the pool.

We liked the place for its serene nature, very clean beach and a quiet to place to relax. The food was good and there was a good entertainment programme with an in-house team of entertainers. The only area of concern for us was that the bathroom water was hard and the soap provided could not lather well for a good shower. Proximity to local shops was helpful and we were able necessary supplies. Another concern is drinking water - the hotel provides 500ml of water a day and if you require more you will have to pay for it! This I think is something they could look into given the warm weather that requires frequent rehydration

The food needs a i little bit of improvement. First 2 nights the dinner was sub par for international standards. Not too sure if it's because there weren't too many guests at the time. It did improve as more guests came but it should always be good.

The property has extended beach access, great breakfast options and iconic baobab trees

The beach and gardens are magnificent. The chef is awesome and staff friendly

The hotel staff was awesome. They even made a cake for me on my birthday.

Beautiful place!!!

A beautiful resort with all more than necessary amenities. Delecious food, nice view, quiet and spotlessly clean. I mean, what do you want?! Stay at Jacaranda and I am sure you will remember the name for a long time to come.

The staff here are brilliant and can't do enough for you. Food was good, the pool was great, and all our rooms were lovely with a great view of the beach. Staff helped arranged transport back to the airport.

Price/quality has dropped

Check in was rather bad than helping. after 45 min waiting and explaining the 3rd time she's waiting for a feedback I decided to have a drink. The rooms were shown in the picture were not the room I got. I stayed in the same hotel before, food wise a full step down in offer and variation. There was no meal without finding empty trays...asking for do you have more of this and that. Pool guard was very friendly and willing to help. Waiters....2 out of 10 cut at least bring a smile in their face. the remaining seems not very interested. I wouldn't go again.

Great spot in Diani Beach

Stayed at this resort for two nights after five days safari. Great place to relax. Staff was very attentive to my questions and helpful. As it is located at the end of Diani beach, it is away from crowds and disruption from locals. Breakfast buffet is basic but good enough, your choice of omelet is available. Premises are well kept and maintained. Glad I chose this resort before my return to Canada. Would visit again.

Never again

The hotel is in terrible need of renovation and staff needs tons of training, especially reception who seem to have forgotten to give me a wake up call twice! Food is horrible and tasteless. Breakfast buffet is worse the dinner. I once asked for hard boiled eggs and the woman didn’t even look at me and told me to wait a minute! Wifi is really bad. At least in my room. I found a dead cockroach in my room! And at first, I actually had to ask for my room to be cleaned. There are a few good people at this hotel: daisy at the beach bar is doing her best and always smiling and the pianist at dinner. And just so people don’t think that this is a one off, I went to this hotel twice last January and November and had no complaints. Now it’s just awful.

Lovely stay

Such a lovely stay. Much nicer than I expected. Very pretty outlook right on a very quiet stretch of beach. Great pool and not at all busy. Very friendly and helpful staff really enhanced our stay. Very decent breakfast and evening meal. Plenty of choice. Needed a break and wasn't disappointed. Staff on hand to shoo away the monkeys.

Ideal quite oceanview getaway hotel!!

If you want to enjoy a private and quite place on the Indian Ocean, this is the place! The beach is still unspoiled and you can swim most parts of the day. No hawkers or noise, and the hotel staff are very pleasing and ready to make your stay unforgettable. The food was nice and varied. Internet is available at a reasonable price and works well. I will certainly try to come again, thank you!!

not worth it

for all it's pretense, this place has lousy service and doesn't care about the customer. Staff was rude repeatedly, breakfast closes at 9, and check out is at 10. Terrible for holiday. evidently they are under the impression this is a business hotel....oh but wait, the internet didn't work either......

A great place to stay at the South Coast

A couple of years ago, we walked along the beach and had lunch at Indian Ocean together with some friends, and we all liked the place, which is on the northernmost end of Diani beach. This time we would try the place and booked a seafront room. The place is one of the best places I have stayed at on the Kenyan coast since I was here for the first time in 1978. Quiet, comfortable and friendly. Not too big, not too small. Very close to the beach. Almost no hawkers on this part of this . That is an important asset for this place. On the not so positive side I could mention that the pool is not especially big, however, the water was of good quality. For eating, the small a la carte restaurant that costs a bit more is to be preferred to the more standard buffet dinner.

Good beach

We booked here because it would allow for partial week reservations during holiday season, and we only had few days for beach experience. I picked it for recommendations on beach, and would stand by that choice. However, the place is pretty "worn". Very nice pool; and good air conditioning plus generous veranda in ocean side units...although not really "ocean front" (ours was across a lawn area before the beach but did look to sea rather than other units.) I think the large number of people and predictable buffet food was biggest obstacle to considering this a luxurious spot. Best food was available for separate costs at Ocean Terrace cafe by the pool. Hotel beach bar at north end of beach sells beers for half the price compared to the waiters on the beach...nice if you are set up at that end. The beach is gorgeous..but all of Diani is that way. Probably good family spot, but not well maintained enough to be a romantic getaway in my book. Service people were very nice, and driver Stephen Maina is superb: great driver, reliable, helpful. Good policy is that they will credit you back if you do NOT eat dinner there. There were false charges on mini bar to our room but we could not delay our exit to airport in order to sort it out with the manager so just paid it and left.

A beautiful resort

This was a beautiful place, great sandy beaches and warm water. The resort personnel was very friendly and accommodating. The two downfalls are the distance from the airport, costing 5,000 shillings and taking about 2 hours and the hustlers on the beach. Taking an early morning walk along the shore was not as enjoyable as it could have been due to locals approaching to sell something. But the resort and the grounds are maintained well and I would recommend this lovely place.

Needs rennovating!

The hotel is in a nice location yet the rooms are run down, food average and expedia rates didnt secure the best views! A lot of big and noisy groups too.

The oceanfront location remains magnificent, unfortunately the hotel's overall service does not compare to the excellence I had enjoyed years earlier. Perfect however, to get to the hotel I used samuelnjogu03@gmail.com reliable and fantastic driver and guide also for the whole stay.

Nice hotel with need of improved service.

Service rather poor. Emplyees not trained. Long time to wait when you order food. The pool is very shallow....more for children. The hotel has a arabic..Indien architecture....many rooms with different categories. Its nice it's situated right on the edge of the beach.

dejligt og afslappende ferieophold

Dejligt sted for afslapning. Et ungt team af dansere lavede flotte opvisninger. Maden var primært lagt an på buffeter , mindre udvalg af a la carte. God morgenmad. Meget venlige medarbejdere.

Hotel un peu plus petit que la moyenne des “resorts” a Diani, mais ca le rend aussi plus paisible. De plus, il se trouve en bout de plage cote nord, ce qui aide pour la tranquilite. Pas beaucoup de vendeurs ambulants qui harcelent les touristes bronzant sous les palmiers. Des equipements un peu vieillots, mais fonctionnels, l’air de la mer etant tres corrosif, les element metalliques resistent mal. Cependant l’hotel, les chambres et la piscine sont tres propres et le personnel tres attentif et disponible. Quelques soucis d’organisation tout de même - pas toutes les factures du restaurant etaient pretes quand on faisait le check-out...

Niesamowite miejsce, cisza, spokój, muzyka oceanu, czysta plaża, pyszne jedzenie, liczne kramiki z lokalnymi przysmakami i pamiątkami, bliska lokalizacja lotniska. Polecam zwiedzanie okolicy i Mombasy.

Hotel en zona tranquila junto a muy bonita playa. Habitación amplia y con Terraza. A 10 metros de la playa. Personal muy amable. Buffet simple con menos variedad de lo esperado. Se nota el paso de los años y necesita mantenimiento. Caro para lo que ofrecen. He estado en mejores resort en la costa de Kenya por el mismo precio. Excursiones y transporte que ofrecen también de coste elevado.

Un excellent séjour. Hôtel propre et calme en bord de mer, idéal pour se reposer. Le personnel est très accueillant et sympathique.

Indian Ocean

Hotel zag er prima uit. De ligging direct aan zee is geweldig. Het hotel heeft weinig te doen in september. Laag seizoen. Het hotel ligt geisoleerd waardoor je overal erg ver weg van bent. Opgesloten gevoel. Het eten is sober maar goed. De lunchkaart is veel te klein. Verveeld na 1 dag al. Bij het hotel ernaast kun je goed lunchen. Ook veel goedkoper. Geen fitenessruimte aanwezig. Ook al staat dat in de omschrijving vriendelijk personeel. Geweldig en goed onderhouden strand. Voor jongeren niet te adviseren voor mensen die het rustig willen goed

Mysigt hotell vid lugn fin strand

Riktigt trevligt och fint hotell, fin lite mer öde strand. Kan rekommenderas om man inte vill bli jagad av försäljare utan njuta av sol och bad. Hotellet ligger en liten bit från något centrum. Riktigt trevlig underhållning på kvällen!

Snobbställe

Ett jättefint hotell med små bungalows i en jättestor kanonfin park. En välbevakad strand så knappt en enda försäljare. Stranden är så stor och de badande så få så det känns som du är ensam där. Mycket aktiviteter på anordnas i poolen och på stranden men väldigt få deltagare. Jättemycket mat vid varje måltid. Hur många rätter som helst på buffen. Underhållning varje kväll med dansuppvisningar o.dyl. Eftermiddagsfika varje dag kl. 16. Dock inte mitt favoritställe. Dresskod till middagen, stela tråkiga människor som alla höll sig för sig själva. Pratade inte en enda gång med nån gäst där. Alldeles för snobbiga för min smak.

En perle på Diani Beach

For de, der ikke er til store, "overfladiske" luksushoteller men til det lidt mere enkle og nære uden at miste grundlæggende komfort. Beliggenhed som det nordligste på Diani Beach og stranden helt i top. Smuk arkitektur med luft imellem bygningerne - få endelig et beach front værelse - mange af dem er stort set beliggende 5 m fra stranden. Eneste anke er madens middelmådige kvalitet og nogen ensformighed - boede der en måned på halvpension. Men et hotel der virkelig kan anbefales.Stedet giver virkelig value for money.
