Great place to stay
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. This is our go-to hotel in Reno now.
Lovely facility with very friendly staff. Our room was very nice. Will stay there again.
This hotel is a short walk to the main areas. It’s not as busy and lively as the downtown area. A great spot to go back to and relax. The gym was the only downside. It was super small and didn’t provide paper towels or anything to wipe down the machines. A water station would have been nice there as well.
Hotel room is nice but I did see a lot of dust on top of the refrigerator. Sink area didn’t have a roll of paper towels. But over all the experience was great.
Room felt like it was newly modernized and quick to elevator to get to room. Would have liked gym to be open earlier than 9 am
Very quiet and clean
It was very clean.
There was dust in the room, fridge didn't work
Great service !
It was very excellent be
Clean and nice rooms
Great experience
House keeping staff went in my room while I was asleep very early . After that they came back again an hour before I had to check out barged into my room again !! I felt like I was being rushed out by them.
Enjoyed it immensely . Lots of peace and quiet great sleep .
Great property and even greater staff.
I had a great stay very clean rooms, great staff and very profesional
The J Resort has been completely renovated and it’s one of the best values and super clean. Great room, comfortable bed and incredibly nice staff!!
Very clean and easy check-in
High chairs had to be burned for heat I’m told.
Had two homeless people ask for money while I was inside the hotel and checking in. No security around. I will never stay here again
Clean and quiet.
Dirty Rooms
The last 2 times I stayed here my room was dirty. This time, they tried to fix my TV 5 times and then I finally moved into a dirty room. The front desk manager was great to deal with but, I don't know why the rooms are always dirty.
Very well I'll parking lot.
Newly remodeled. The premise is clean and staff are friendly.
Great new hotel with good sized rooms, easy parking, and check in.
Need to add more selection for dining and better club
We didn’t stay. We walked into the building to get to the reservation desk but you have to walk through the casino. The cigarette smoke was really bad. I had someone in my group that is very sensitive to cigarette smoke, he couldn’t even get 20 steps into the building without having to rush out coughing. We couldn’t recover the cost of the stay since I booked through a third party booking system.
Clean and reasonably priced
Property interior from casino to our room was very clean and appeared to be recently refreshed. Rooms were large, plenty of space for luggage, and lots of plugs to keep electronics charged. There is some exterior remodeling/construction taking place but the noise was minimal. Plenty of free oversize vehicle parking is available.
All in one resort. Great customer service. Lots of convenient parking.
I was truly impressed with the quality of this resort. From the exterior to the interior, I was not disappointed. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hallways were quiet. I will definitely be staying here each time I drive from Idaho Falls to Stockton. Once relocated to CA we will definitely take weekend vacations to stay at this beautiful resort.
It was ok. Smoke smell in lobby, but room was quiet and clean. Not sure what you get for the resort fee… pool hot tub was closed
Great property
Room was a little dirty. Pillows very uncomfortable. Hat was stolen from my room and filled out a incident report with there security team. No one seemed to care about my hat being stolen from my room and no one every reached back out to me after filling out incident reprt when they said they would. Don't gi here nothing goid about it.
“A perfect choice for a short stay! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The staff was friendly, and check-in was smooth. Ideal for a restful night!”
Clean friendly and free drinks if you gamble just make sure to tip :)
Good price, great atmosphere, great service!!! My favorite place to stay in Reno and gamble
Awesome place
No indoor pool or hot tub. The overall ambiance was just flat. The music The band was playing was not exciting? They didn't pep up the crowd. It just seemed boring and dark. I've been in casinos that were empty, but still had an exciting buzz in the air.
Pretty nice place quite walking distance to a lot of food and a great view of the mountains
Great staff at the J resort, always friendly and the hotel was very clean.
Clean and modern!
Very unsafe place with many drug users , this place is not a good stay
Weird issues for a new new resort
We spent a staycation here recently, our second time since the resort opened. The restaurant options and staff were great. We enjoyed the buffet as it's the first kind where I didn't feel super rushed or overwhelmed. The food was pretty standard for a buffet. The issues we had was with the room itself. It clearly hadn't been cleaned as there was urine in the toilet, and it was dusty. The TV, refrigerator and other appliances weren't working and we had to call for help. They had to disassemble the console and found that nothing was properly plugged in (how does that happen?). Our room also didn't look quite like the picture of what we booked, which showed a kitchenette with a sink. Instead we just had your standard fridge and microwave. One of the drawers was broken and the dresser already showing wear and tear. I don't feel I quite got my money's worth and probably won't be staying here again in the future. I've certainly stayed in worse, but this was well below "resort" quality.
Very nice property for the money, even if you aren't a gambler. Two sizable free parking lots makes it easy to arrive/leave. Very clean and newish presentation. Would stay here again for any reason if in Reno.
I canceled this trip a week in advance and I’m being charged for a room. Please refund this asap.
Having the cafe for dinner at least open until 11pm Friday and Saturday nights -after the UNR game we had to go somewhere else for dinner.!!
Thos stay was NOT it
You advertised a pool and spa, but there was not one available. After trying to have rhis issue fixed, i decided to stay because you were making it.more difficult and stressful to find a place, on.my own, thatnhad the amenities i had booked this for.
Always enjoy our stay
Absolutely wverything was Great, will definitely be staying here again and recommending it
Ok but!!!
The resort fees were a joke since most of what they charge for didn’t exist or was available
Beautiful place to stay. Rooms are perfect
Our first room had no hot water and there was construction in the garage just below us that started at 7 AM that shook me out of bed. Plus, the heat in the first room was very old and very loud. The hotel was nice enough to move us for our second night to a junior suite which was a very nice room.
Perfect
They did a fabulous job renovating the former Sands resort!
Great value.
The rooms are awesome - another blanket in the room would have been great, I don't really like sleeping with the heat set too high. Other than that, awesome service, clean rooms.
Outstanding service very clean nice and friendly staff would stay again with out a doubt
Very nice and clean. Staff were excellwnt and very helpful.
Nice renovations. The fitness center needs towels and sanitary wipes to wipe down machines before/after use.
Friendly staff and convenient location (away from the busy main street) makes this hotel ideal for quick getaways.
The stay.
Very nice
Sportsbook is small and they close for lunch. Employees were very friendly. Only one chair in room. Windows are pretty small but do go all the way from floor. Hotel is downtown right next door to bigger casinos. No room service. Very quiet atmosphere. Was nice for the cost .
The rooms were very clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. Parking is free but the lot is small and fills up fast. Centrally located and walkable to the three connected casinos and more.
review of J Resort, Reno, NV
It was quiet, clean, comfortable. That's what we were looking for.
Spacious room
10
very good
We had a wonderful experience here. The room was modern, clean, quiet and dark throughout the night . The staff were above and beyond helpful, parking was convenient and the location was walking distance to our music venue downtown as well as a lovely coffee shop right on the River. We’ll be back!
Highly recommend, two small dings...
Everything was top notch from the beginning to end of a three night, four day stay. The gym treadmill was perfect as was the LifeFitness apparatus.... Two minor things to point out- the buffet isn't open for breakfast and the room didn't have hand lotion like I believe most do these days (or used to, anyway). still, other casinos and restaurants within easy walking distance...I do recommend this hotel and will most likely stay there again when visiting.
No support offered for those with crutches or disabilities. No valet
Awesome place, totally took my family and i by surprise. Crazy clean, hyper nice staff. Buffet was great!
Good resort for both stay and casino. For hotel, it will be better if they have slippers, robes, and tooth brush, tooth paste for the bathroom supplies.
I like I will stay again!!
The TV and remote was covered in dust. One of the pillows on the bed smelled bed, liked it was never cleaned. The bottom of the bathroom door had brown spots all over it. The casino was fine but heavy cigarette smoke smell, not the best ventilation. It is walking distance to the Silver Legacy so ended up playing there. Stayed one night and probably will not return.
.
I love staying at J Resort.
Give it a try you won’t be disappointed !
The J Reaort is a hidden Gem. The entire staff was friendly and inviting. The place is immaculate both in the rooms and main Lobby. The Steakhouse was excellent and (Joe) aka Kevin a delightful waiter! Excellent meal!
Comforter was thin and had issues getting into the room due to the door lock not working properly. Had to forcibly pull the door handle towards us and then shove the door open. We didn’t know this was how we had to open the door until we went to the front desk to exchange the key cards and was told that. We thought the key cards were having issues but it was actually the locks.
I would have liked an extra blanket. It was 22 degrees outside and all we had were sheets and one very thin blanket on the bed. No bedspread-Otherwise it was fine.
Nice new Resort
Quick trip to Reno. Great place to stay.
Room had stains on ceiling and stains on bed sheets/furniture. Room also wouldn’t stay warm even with it being in the 20s outside.
Went for a quick friend’s getaway and they had everything we needed.
Donna at the front desk was so very kind. And love the convenient parking….its the little things that make the biggest difference. We’ll be back for sure!
My only issue was we left something in our room that we asked them to give to our friends who hadn’t left the hotel yet and they refused. Other than that we had a good time.
everything was perfect great place , but the only frustration was that the sturbucks only open @ 9pm .
Very nice, clean and pleasant hotel.
Close to many areas. Highly recommend.
Muy bueno y cómodo me gusta, limpieza y confortable
clean
You get what you pay for
Our stay was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The only issue was that housekeeping came pounding on our door at 9am, well before checkout time. The “do not disturb” sign was not near the door so we forgot to put it out, but since we hadn’t checked out, I would have expected to be left alone until we did. We then extended our stay due to a storm and not being willing to drive over the icy Donner Pass. Room was never revisited for service.
Property is well maintained!
Nice new property with a nice staff
Good hotel
Despite my only giving 4 stars, it's a perfectly fine place to stay. My small issues-- the blanket was very thin and there was not an extra one in the closet. But I didn't ask the front desk if they could provide another, so I can't ding them too much. At bathroom sink there was a bottle of conditioner rather than hand soap; coffee pods were 3 decaf and only 1 regular. Finally, definitely not their fault, but they're a 10 minute walk from the Amtrak station, so wouldn't be too good in snow or rain-- there are other hotels closer. But overall, it was a good stay.
CLEAN ROOM
Met our needs perfectly
We were on the 14th floor if Cedar tower. The room was immaculate with high quality furnishings. Very quiet with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom.
Cold winter nights
We stayed here fir 3 days due to family member in hospital. It was very clean and friendly helpful staff. The pillows were very hard though and a very thin blanket with a sheet in mid January when its freezing outside they needed blankets on the bed. Went and bought my own. The shower door opens to one side so you have to reach way in to turn on water and when go to turn on shower you get sprayed with cold water. Other than that was very nice especially for the low prices compared to other resorts.
The building is in good condition. The beds are comfortable and the linens are good quality. I wish they had better air filtration so it didn't smell so strong of cigarette smoke.
We rented a a family suite at the 9th floor for 4 nights. It is clean and spacious but the lay out is weird. Kitchenette is where the bedroom is. We have a baby so using the kitchen while baby is asleep is not the most convenient. The suite is basically a room with connecting door to another room which they made a living because it’s too tiny to make it as another unit as there was a vending machine that was stationed outside which was basically half the room size. It would have been nice if there is another bathroom in the living room area.the room is loud, the ac/ heater is really loud and we hear the train passing too. It was loud especially in the early mornings. The young desk lady when we check in the for the night wasn’t very hospitable at all. Her name starts with “L” couldnt recall fully. No smiles, no explanations of amenities or rules basically just ask credit card and gave us paper that there will be construction in our tower from 8-5 M-F. Great. I appreciate that there is non smoking and this hotel is better than The Row but I would not stay here again. One thing we did love is the River walk is a short walk. We enjoyed the scenery of the river.
