Great position lovely balcony

Perfect location, right off the Plaza where you would get off the Aerobus. Situated in the middle of the old quarter and new, making it very walkable. Rooms were clean and modern. Host/Reception was extremely helpful with all our questions. Can not fault it at all. We will be back. Thank you so much for looking after me and my wife!

Located on second floor of an old building in Placa Catalunya. Antique but functional elevator. Rooms are clean and spacious, if simply decorated. Owner is very pleasant and helped us with our travel planning. She also provided good restaurant recommendations.

Great boutique hotel in the Centro

This is a wonderful small (8 room) hotel just off Placa Catalonya in the centro of Barcelona. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. Comfy beds, big rooms, nice bathroom, a great common room and very helpful staff. It is also right off the 'Aerobus' line from the airport so there's no need to take pricey taxis to get there and the buses are quicker! As a matter of fact we never took a taxi the whole time we were in Barcelona, this hotel us so well situated. We'll return for sure!

Inona and Bruno were extremely knowledgeable about the area. They were very professional and answered all our questions... The place was great and very convenient. Bed was wonderful and the room was spotless. Would definitely stay there again!

The location was excellent, right in the middle of the major sites and very close to multiple metro lines. The staff was very friendly and provided a map and recommendations upon our arrival. The room was clean and comfortable with efficient air conditioning. The only downside was that the WiFi connection was very poor.

Clean, well located but bare

Hotel is in a great location. Room was clean and staff very helpful. Rooms are very sparse with no drawers for clothes, no closet, no mini frig or any decor, such as artwork on the walls.

Only issue that needs to improve is the TV. Programs on TV should add news in English and channels in English for the non speaking Spanish. Only local channels were found . The rest, all was great, many thanks for making me feel relaxed, the hotel was amazing, central, staff the best and definitely will book again next summer for this hotel :) Muchas gracias!

Excellent customer service, cleanliness is A+, location could not be better, across the street from Plaza Catalunya (the heart of the city) where most tours and public transportation are. Great location and great staff! The staff made this stay above and beyond. Ainhoa was amazing! Room was very clean, bed was comfy. Loved the balcony. Elevator made getting luggage up easy. Better coffee and a couple of free waters would be the only improvement I can think of.

Perfect Location for Everything

We stayed here for 3 days. Perfect location for everything. Shopping, restaurant, transportation and if you will do hop on hop off. We took bus from the Airport to Pl Catalunya (last stop). 1 minute walk from bus stop. Near Mc donalds or right beside baby store. We got there early FrontDesk Allowed us to check in early so we can take a rest and we do appreciate that. He’s nice and accommodating.

EXCELLENT HOTEL CLOSE TO CENTRE OF BARCELONA

We found this hotel to be excellent, lovely rooms, very spacious and central for all amenities. Our room was at the back so no view but lovely and quiet which is how we like it. The staff were lovely, very helpful and the room was always spotless with a very comfy bed. Could'nt have been more pleased with this find.

Great location, large room.

This modern hotel has large rooms by Spanish hotel standards. The layout is good, and the location is very central to activities in Barcelona. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and pointed out recommended restaurants and attractions. There is no fridge in the room, but there is a shared bar fridge in the dining area together with tea and coffee making facilities. Directly opposite is a huge department store - El Corte Ingles.

Izaila is a very small, cozy, family-run hotel in the middle of everything. It was very close to and easy to find after getting off from the Airport Express bus at its last stop. The location is impossible to beat. The front desk is not always staffed, but the family that runs this business are all very, very nice people, going out of their way to help. I had my wallet pick-pocketed in the Metro and the owner even accompanied me in the search for the suitable police station to report it to.

Good location close to the square

Great location, good price, walk up 2 floors

This is an eight room hotel on the 3rd floor of a building a one minute walk from Plaza Catalunya. It can be hard to find, as the hotel sign is only about one foot square. It is a few doors away from McDonalds. Staffing is part time, mostly in the morning when people are checking out and evening when they are checking in. Rooms are nice size, clean, and comfortable. Good beds, nice bathroom with shower. Price is very reasonable for the location. There is a tiny elevator, a tight squeeze for two people with suitcases. Most we walked up four flights of stairs.

Small hotel in great location. Izaila Plaza Catalunya is in the very best location for walking and doing everything in Barcelona. The hotel shares a nineteenth century building with the Offices and the Portuguese Consulate. The functioning antiques elevator takes you to a Modern, Clean and full of character hotel. The space has tall ceilings and large windows. A fully renovated space all modern amenities are there. You could easily use the space for a small group of friends and feel at home. The hotel has daily housekeeping but not 24 hour front desk. You have 24-hr access to the building and hotel through new access code entry. You are in front of one of the most popular locations in Barcelona and also Las Ramblas. Easy to get to from airport bus which is across the street and fast from Main train station and easy subway access. Rooms are bright and spacious and modern bathrooms. Perfect Barcelona location.

Super location. Reasonable clean except towels are old, toilet has foul smell and hair dryer is ‘sticky’ and not clean.

Walking distance to hundreds of sites to enjoy and explore. The managers were gracious and spoke English. We will return and recommend.

Phenomenal

This place was amazing! Staff was friendly and provided maps and recommendations. Room was spacious and clean. Shower decent size for Europe. Quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. Location was super convenient. Breakfast included in cafe down the street is filling. Staff not readily available 100% of the time, but we didn't have any issues.

Great hotel

We arrived at the hotel around 9:30 am after a long flight from Atlanta to Barcelona. We were greeted by Inoha, one of the charming owners of this B&B. This property has only 8 rooms and provides a coupon for a free breakfast at a cafe' down the street. Inoha gave us a map of the city and told us all about the best places to see. She also let us check in right away. he The location is perfect, right at the city center of Playa Catalunya. The room was perfect and the breakfast at the cafe' was generous and delicious. Loved our experience.

WHAT A JEWEL! LOOK NO FURTHER!!

This is a wonderful place to stay and the location is PERFECT. The hotel is scrupulously clean. It's mere steps from two different metro stations. The desk staff was SO nice, welcoming, friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us many times. They made several suggestions of places for us to go and all were wonderful. This is not an extravagant place -- very basic, but really nice. The bed was extremely comfortable, even for my husband who has a bad back and usually suffers in a hotel bed. There is a great little supermarket a few doors down. Our room came with breakfast which was at a nice cafe on the corner. Across the street is the largest and most outrageous department store that I have ever experienced. They have everything from mink coats to tupperware. (Closed on Sundays.) The next time we visit Barcelona we will definitely stay here.

Small but comfortable.

The Izaila Plaza hotel was very conveniently located, clean and comfortable. There were few amenities that would have made it ideal. Small things missing such as tissues, and soap,shampoo.

Perfect Location

Great room in a perfect location. The room was very quite but on the streets there was so much going on and to see. Perfect location to walk to everything sites, shops, and restaurants. The shuttle for the airport was right across the street so easy to hop on it runs like every 5-10 minutes and is only 5.90 Euro each way. Would stay here again no question.

strong clorox smell all day

The lady at the front is really nice and she even knew my name but this hotel is in a building that has like 5 floors and the hotel is located on on the 3rd floor. The entire hotel smell like Clorox and the room is clean but the scent of clorox wont go away. We opened the windows for it go away. Once you walk on the hallways you can smell it again. This is what I didnt like , they turn off the water heater after 1am, there was no hot water in my bathroom. I took a video of it, no hot water at all so I had to shower in the morning. A nice room and great stuff but the whole building is not a hotel, no hot water at night and strong smell of clorox. Wont stay again , ohhh I almsot forgot, the breakfast was delicious.

Funky hotel occupying part of a floor of an older building. Tiny old elevator added to the charm, as did the manager Ienoah, who was very sweet and accommodating. No washcloths and the safe is too small for a laptop. Great location right next to Placa Catalunya, but awesome windows that blocked the large majority of street noise, even with the large crowds gathered for the Catalan Independence vote, which took place during our stay.

Lovely hotel

Great hotel, comfortable bed, spacious and a good bathroom with everything in good working order. Great location in the city centre It´s a very quiet hotel, you don´t tend to bump into other guests. Charmning Boutique Hotel

Great location, with good facilities

Chose the hotel, based on previous reviews and location and wasn't disappointed! The hotel sent me a lovely email prior to arriving to ascertain expected time of arrival and advise of various options to get to the hotel- lovely touch! Greeted with a lovely welcome when we arrived and was provided with an excellent overview of things to see and do and also things to be aware of in Barcelona! Room was clean and tidy with all essential requirements, provided with vouchers for breakfast at local cafe, which was of very good standard! Would recommend the hotel

Best location in town!

Loved this hotel! Location wise, it is impossible to beat. The owner is super personable, friendly and helpful. This small boutique hotel is located in an old historical building, so we got to enjoy a ride in their 100+ year elevator every day! Very tall ceilings with plaster ornaments, French doors leading to your own small balconies - tons of character which is tastefully contrasted with a clean modern lines of the modern bathroom and furniture. We found the bed quite comfortable, too. The breakfast is at a cafe just two doors down, and was plentiful and tasty. The hotel also has a small "dining room" where one can make a cup of tea or coffee, and also a library, or sitting room. Several subway stations are within 1 block's distance, but from this central location, you can almost walk to most historical places.

Had a short stay between flights and found this little gem right downtown. Heritage building, large clean room, and friendly and very helpful staff.

Great Service, Great Room

Although a little hard to find -- it's just a doorway directly across from El Cortes Ingles (huge department store) -- and even though the elevator is tiny and old (use the stairs) -- once you're inside, the hotel is absolutely first-rate. The rooms are ultra-modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable; and the service staff (Bruno) was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, and warrants special mention. Breakfast at the Farggi Cafe is included and outstanding. The location itself is very convenient. Catalunya Square itself is beautiful, and is a major shopping area with many restaurants nearby, and bus tours depart from the front of El Cortes Ingles. We walked to Sagrada Familia from the hotel -- and with Bruno's expert guidance, we had purchased tickets online IN ADVANCE and were able to get right in. Barcelona is a clean, beautiful city and we'll be happy to return and stay at this hotel.

A cozy sanctuary in the middle of the city

We had a lovely stay at Izaila. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the hotel was centrally located in a beautiful building, but still the room was quiet and peaceful. We loved being able to stay right in the middle of the city but still feel like we were in our own little sanctuary.

Initially its a little bit hard to find coz the signage was too small and not prominent..coz they only occupy one floor of the bldg. Hence there is the limitation to what they could put up.. Other than that, its the best value for money you can get in a location like that! The best!

Great location, friendly staff

Lovely hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Room was modern and clean with fantastic air conditioning. Coffee machine and hairdryer were also added as nice touches. The location was fantastic - right in the city centre next to Catalonia square and La Ramblas. We really enjoyed our stay here and would visit again.

Simple, tidy and comfortable boutique hotel

Small (6 rooms) charming boutique hotel just off the Placa de Catalunya so convenient to La Rambla, numerous restaurants and the Metro station that is the hub of the Barcelona metro system. Simply but stylishly appointed. Breakfast is via vouchers at the café just round the corner. It was just what we wanted - a simple, comfortable base for our city break.

Overall, still acceptable.

The room was neat and tidy. The location is very convenient near to the Aerobus stop. The shower's hot water supply was not long enough for two persons continuous showing, one had to wait at least an hour before you could enjoy a comfortable water temperature. It might not be a problem if you were in summer time.

We had a Great stay! Very close to Paca Catalunya and major attractions. Small Hotel, very Modern. BRUNO AND INOA were great and took care of us like family.

Had a great experience with this hotel, starting with the emails detailing options for reaching the hotel, the unexpected early check in to the room, friendly help with any question we had, filling breakfast included in the price at a cafe next door, ideal location for public transport around the city, clean and comfortable room that was surprisingly quiet considering the location near a busy square. If you expect a fancy lobby and room service, this is not the hotel for you but if you are looking for hospitality and the most convenient location you will find it here.

Awesome stay in Barcelona

The Izaila Hotel Catalunya was perfect for our 4 night visit to Barcelona. Perfectly located so you can walk in any direction to visit the main sights, that is, a nice central location. The room was a perfect blend of new (i.e., new bathroom) and old charm, being on floor 2 of an old building. The original charm of the room still there in the ceiling and balcony overlooking the street. The hotel staff very helpful, contacting us by email just before our stay to confirm our time of arrival and provide directions. They helped with other questions about visiting the sights.

Gorgeous hotel in a great location

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and it was exactly what we were after. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with the comfiest bed I've ever slept in! We loved the high and decorative ceilings. We also loved having a balcony! The hotel staff (Bruno and Ainhoa) were so welcoming, warm and friendly with lots of tips and advice for us on the area, places to visit and places to eat. The location was perfect, a 30 second walk to the Plaça de Catalunya which is beautiful and a great place to travel from. The breakfast at Farggi cafe each morning was lovely as well. Perfect location, spacious rooms

Located less than 200m from the Aerobus stop at Pl Catalunya, it is ideally situated. The hotel sent an email a week prior to arrival requesting flight details and giving directions which helped as it does not have street frontage as it is located on the second floor accessed via a rather ancient but fully functional lift, think old movies and you get the picture. As my flight arrived early in the day and the reception does not open until 9am it meant I had about 20 minutes to get a hot chocolate at the nearby McDonalds, however once I went up the gentleman at reception greeted me, took my bags checked me in, allowed me access to the internet and suggested sights I should see all within a matter of minutes. The room was not available at the time, although he did say he would get it prepared asap. When I returned after some sightseeing at noon, my bags were already in the room. The room is reasonably spacious, although basically furnished the bed was comfortable and is probably one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. Breakfast is included although it is supplied at a cafe along the road, I was very pleased with the quality. The location for sightseeing is excellent. the Hop on Hop off buses are within a few minutes walk, there is a Metro station close and being so close to the hub of shopping and tourist sights it was ideal for walking. I would recommend it to everyone. In fact I have my niece booked in for one night in a months time.

Boutique hotel very close to plaza catalunya

Boutique hotel means a few rooms with limited services where you hardly see anyone else. Room large & minimalist but contained all that one required except for storage. Ancient 2 persons with light luggage lift did its job. Small safe could not fit an iPad. We had a balcony room overlooking a main street (Sant Pere) leading to the plaza. Balcony small but usable for a smoker. However street noise, even with double glazed doors, coupled with regular vibrations from Metro underneath was annoying.

A nice and convenient experience!

The room and staff are nice, while it closes to La Ramba and airport bus terminal. The breakfast provided is pretty good (even the hotel co-operates it with the cafe nearby). However, the lift is too small and no 24-hours counter service.

the location is excelent! just take the aerobus from the airport till the last stop pace Catalunia. walk 100 meters and you are in the hotel. the entrance of the hotel is little difficult to find, but you get a mail from the couple that owns the hotel with a very good description how to find the hotel. the lift is old but works fine. once you are in the hotel it is beautifully renovated, quiet and good. very friendly staff helpful in any way. such a great location to visit barcelona. complementory breakfast is in a very nearby restaurant, we loved the breakfast!!we had a two night stay before a cruise and will go back to this hotel.

Very Central, well hidden

From the street you wouldn't know there was a hotel here. It occupies the 2nd floor of what appears to be a very old building. It's quirky, you enter via an antique elevator, exit at level 2, turn left, press a button and enter to the small reception area. Staff were great, informative and couldn't have been more helpful, however it is only staffed limited hours, which makes you kinda nervous when you don't know the procedures. They have a breakfast deal with a café nearby which was quite good.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and staff were amazing. Only down fall is that it is a bit difficult to find as the sign for it is quite small. I really recommend staying here.

Modern Hotel, City Center

Had one night stay, just perfect. Hotel staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. We were coming in early from a cruise. Hotel allowed us to drop off our luggage before checkin and kept it secure. We then had the freedom to see the city sights for the day! The room was modern, spacious and chic, loved the decor! Check in/out was simple and quick. Would love to stay again!

nice location close to city center and tour buses

A very basic simple hotel, no luxury items. If all you need is a clean, nice room to sleep, this is the place. No staff on site beyond normal business hours. Our next door neighbor had a very loud argument after midnight and we didn't know what to do. There is no phone in the room that we can call and we didn't want to walk out to the hallway to call the manager.
