Could not get a beach front view because this was for owners. But it was still a relaxing time
The staff is absolutely amazing… the rooms are in need of updating and one of the showers was not even usable, as it had so much mold build up and cracks. That would be my only complaint.
Relaxe
it was nice and cozy
The beach was fabulous. Neighboring walk along the ocean front was a wonderful plus. Staff was great! Easy taxi rides to shopping and other restaurant options. Plenty of activities on site.
place was empty. staff poor service, people disinterested. condos with very minimal supplies. if you are staying just 1 week, not worth it as you have to buy everything, ie dishwasher soap, salt pepper, etc. do housecleaning service. at best they give you 1 clean towel every other day. cockroachs in our room. restaurant was good. beach is nice. pool is nice. lots of chairs. beach towels provided but we needed to ask when we noticed others had some. would not go back
DO NOT STAY HERE. HOT TUB WAS COLD, RESTAURANT HAS LIMITED HOURS, ONLY OPEN FOR DINNER 2 NIGHTS WE WERE HERE. COFFEE SHOP HAS VERY LIMITED HOURS. MARINA AND THAT SIDE OF RESORT WAS LOCKED AND CLOSED, COULD NOT USE. IF LOOKING TO STAY ON THIS ISLAND TRY TAINO BEACH
I enjoyed my visit to the Resort. It was simply beautiful.
Liked the ocean view
Room was fantastic.Staff was friendly, patient, and helpful.Food was excellent and reasonably priced. And the drinks were awesome. The "Miami Vice" was particularly good,I'll bet we ordered more than 50 of them during our week there.
Great place to stay! Should have a higher rating for what you get it is a great value
My stay was horrible i decided to carry my family there for christmas. I went after checkin time and had to wait an jour for the room to be cleaned, only to get in the room and the tub was filled with hair the sink had dead bugs there were no bath towels available until the third day of our stay and also we had to lift our own luggages upstairs to check in and check out as no bellman was available assist. The lady At the front desk Mary attitude was not very pleasant with locals and tourist. I do not recommend at all
It was quiet, we weren't bothered by a ton of vendors. The facilites were clean, the condo was great for our group of 4. Would come back.
Walls in the shower painted with water paint. No internet in the resort and room.
The property was convenient as it had its own private beach but that was it. Restaurant food was OK. We had to ask for pool towels six times before we ended up getting them the following day. When we checked in the Bedroom TV wasn’t working and we didn’t have a working room phone someone came up and fix the TV but didn’t give us a phone so we had to use our cell phones. The rooms need some serious updates. The bathroom was falling apart, floors were dirty silverware, and kitchen was rusty. Overall, the room needs to be completely renovated. As soon as we checked in, we asked about Wi-Fi and they told us the islands been hit or miss for the last two days. after speaking to several people that had been staying at the resort, and or were familiar with the resort, they let us know that the Wi-Fi hasn’t been working in the rooms in this resort in a very long time. It only works in the lobby. This was a huge inconvenience when so many people work remotely these days.
Everything in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and pull out couch was some kind of dirty. There were never any available clean beach towels. When asked if someone could come and clean, several times, the person at the front desk said they would send someone and nobody ever came the whole week we were there. A lady would come by to ask if there was trash and always had a bad attitude about having to take it out. The sliding door and AC in one of the rooms didn’t work.
Beautiful scenery in a lush setting.
The property is in dire need of updating. The furniture is old and dated. The lobby and units are old and dated, bathrooms and kitchen needs updating. The property is dead, not many activities, no shuttle service. Not enough employees, long waits for food service and drinks. Employees are friendly, they just need help. We were there for 4 nights and no one ever came to clean our room or change our sheets. They did bring towels, but didn’t clean or make beds. We met friends staying there and every morning they had to call just to get hot water. They had to wait to shower: this happened every morning. Property is not being kept properly.
Could of been cleaner
Everyone was wonderful!
Tanya at front desk was amazing! She went above and beyond to assit with the concerns I had. A lady was not quick to respond or assist while it was busy. I believe she was the manager not sure but I observed from distance
I state at the resort before and it was absolutely fine, hence I wanted to stay again. However, there were a few concerns this time around. Room #3036 1. Bedroom # 2 bathroom had NO hot water 2. The kitchen microwave has a crack in the door 3. The master bedroom TV comes on and goes off after 2 minutes 4. In-house phone NOT working 😕 5. Housekeeper came in Friday around 1:15 (Aug 26), asking us to sign a paper!! Because we didn't sign it, she said she would put (good) on the paper. The housekeeper never took out the garbage or asked if we needed any towels 6. The maintenance man came to have a look at the TV and said that he have to report it to his supervisor. Nothing ever happened.
Horrible service the safe box did not work neither the room phone and wifi service did not work really inconvenience
The property place need an upgrade, the room did not have the necessary things need for example towels, remote, ect..... The location is fine. I did not know I would have had to walk across the street to use thw pool and enjoy the beach, wish everything was together. Other than that I had a great time in Freeport.
The beach was clean and clear of debris. The amenities were pretty slim.
Staff was friendly an accomodating private beach beautiful food delicious an all around good time i will visit again an tell all my people!
The property is fine, maybe a bit on the rundown side. Woth the exception of Lolo at Coconuts, the reception and restaurant staff were not friendly and not helpful.
The beach is absolutely wonderful. Its a great spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Bahamas. It is not a party location like the beaches around Miami.
My elderly relative, my seven year old daughter, and I had a wonderful experience at Island Seas resort. God’s creation and natural beauty were breathtaking. Staff provided courteous, helpful service. The two bedroom condo that we stayed in was very clean. We shall certainly return.
When my wife and I arrived at the property they said we didn't have a reservation. Upon clearing that up because we had all of our documentation, they blamed Expedia for giving them the wrong dates .... doubtful that was the case. They did give us a good room however and that was fine. The room didn't have any kitchen ware, we had to request it and then it was very limited. Had to request towels be changed out several times.... housekeeping was poor. Requested beach towels and was told to get them at the front desk..front desk said there are only 4 and they're all checked out. Hot tub worked maybe half the time we were there. The restaurant was very mediocre and the wait time for your food is very long despite the fact that we were only one of four tables occupied in a Saturday night. Only two people working the whole restaurant I think. Drinks at the bar were pretty poor. I couldn't imagine getting any kind of meal plan. Luckily we rented a car from Bullseye and they were great. We mostly just used the resort as a place to sleep. We spent most of our time at Lucaya, and it's only minutes away. Great food and cheap delicious drinks there.
Very nice and clean. Friendly staff
While the units are large, they are sparse and dated. However, for the price, you get what you pay for in the Bahamas. The resort is divided by a road into two sections: marina and beach. Reserve the beach side even though the beach is tiny.
I liked the access to the beach, on-site restaurant.
The staff was unbelievably kind and accommodating, the beach was breathtaking, the island was safe and there was a lot of fun things to do and explore.
Close to the beach.
I visit Freeport at least 4 times per year and stay at this property every time. Its convenient to everything and the prices are reasonable.
Everything was splendid
The worst hotel ever me and my family will never go back or recommend this place.
We had to change rooms 3 times, the rooms were not cleaned properly smelled stuffy, floors were dirty and no came to change the sheets.
Its ok could use some renovation though
Didn't like the room being so far to the back
Excellent location!! Oceanview room was the perfect scenery..
Comfortable and great beach
Staff was. Great
Housekeeping stops byeveryday to ask and provide towels, soap, dish soap or dishwasher tabs. Resort keep very clean. Beach raked every morning.
I did not like the fact that the wi-fi I did not work for the entire time I was there
Beautiful property on the beach, very spacious for the price, excellent security and taxi always available. VERY expensive to take a taxi so I would settle in and stay at the resort.
Token toilet handle, dishwasher & loud refrigerator… but, The staff were friendly and it was a very nice visit.
Water was off for hours at a time. Short staff so long wait on everything from towels to food. Stray cats had fleas!
The proximity to the beach and restaurant
Nice place to stay. My toilet was not working in both rooms but that was because of pandemic and not being used for some time. Everything else was great!
The water Had A salty taste, there was ants in the restroom, the bathroom didn’t flush, and there was an $100 resort fee , no complimentary drinks as most hotels do in Freeport. The staff was friendly however.
Had a wonderful upgrade and view! Will stay there again, friendly staff , restaurants and laundry room on the property..
When you go to Freeport , places are a ways apart so it's nice if you can rent a car to get around if you want to see everything. This particular Hotel was really nice because it is located on the ocean. It has beachfront. Not all places do. Ocean sea also has several other very nice amenities.
Un desastre por donde se vea
Amazing place, super well located
The WiFi didn’t work my 5 nights staying there house keeping didn’t show up for 2 of those days
Very friendly and clean. Quiet and organized atmosphere.
Never made it to destination due to health visa not accepting my rapid covid 19 test, after no one I spoke telling me that it had to be a viral test until I arrived to airport to board for my vacation.
The room was not ready when i checked in. Then they gave us the next room which smelled off. The water smell really bad as well.
The view from the room was nice. Unfortunately there was a problem with the unit when it rain some water got into the room through the bedroom window.
I liked the surounding of the prpperty, I dod not like the rooms
Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was overlooking the beach which was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay.
Hotel room was nice and staff was friendly. The water was gorgeous and they were COVID-19 prepared.
Very clean. Near a beautiful place. Great service.
This property is mismanaged rundown dump. There is no drinking water and they neglected to tell us about it. We got info from other residents. There is no WiFi ( for many months). Rooms smell (chlorine or mold), refrigerator leaks etc.
The property itself is really nice. It’s in a great location- serene and natural beauty. Beautiful beach and nice pool and poolside restaurant/bar. Food is ok. The kids actually really enjoyed it. However, the service was possibly the worst I’ve ever experienced . It seems that there is no management on this property. I understand island time and need to tone it down with our wait time coming from NY- but this was over the top. We literally sat for over an hour waiting for our food in the restaurant and there was only two other patrons there . The next morning there was about ten families with only one waitress . Breakfast took forever to come . If you needed something it would come ten to twenty minutes later. This happened every day so we started to Treck off property for dinners. The room situation was worse. Our first night there was a musty smell and we had to open all doors and windows. There were no clean towels and we called the front desk about 4 times over the next three hours and they were going back and forth with blaming the housekeeping staff. Why was that our problem? The cleaning staff never cleaned the room. All they did was make the beds. Floors remained dirty , they did t wipe down anything. It was disappointing. Thanks believe if this hotel had professional management ans more staff it was rate way better, Hopefully they clean up their act!
location Excellent and food was great love the price as well
Met our needs...
I was pleasantly surprised to find a full kitchen, the room was more like a condo than a hotel room. I didn't remember that when booking. It made things easy, since the restaurant was not open during times I wanted to eat -- very odd for a hotel restaurant. It's low season and there weren't many guests -- which is fine, I was in town on business, but the film crew shooting a movie was discourteous to the guests and made lots of noise during normal sleeping time. The hotel should have alerted guests to that. The staff was very friendly for the most part, and the location made it very easy to get to anywhere in town you'd want to go very quickly. Had no issues with security, we felt very safe.
I was so happy that the property was open after the storm. I heard that they had a lot of damage and this was understandable. However, the reason why this is a not so good review is so much went on at the resort even though there was not a lot of people staying there. We changed rooms three times because the people above us made a lot of noise because there where a lot of children in both of the rooms. When we came back to our room on New Year’s Eve around 12:30 my key wouldn’t work I went to the front desk and the lady was acting strange she told me that there was nothing she could do because of something about the key pad so she said if we go back out then we would have to get the older security man to let us back in. I told here that’s not going to happen and she needs to try to rekey my card and she did and the key worked. Oh and another thing please put more sand on the beach because if it’s high tide then the beach is useless and that’s a shame because I am a morning person and I like to sit on a beach chair and read but if it’s high tide then you can’t fully enjoy what you paid for. I stay here all of the time for many years and this is the first time something like this ever happened to me. Now the good part of my Resort stay was the lifeguards and the activity leader Shaneika she is very good at what she does.
The place is clean but wifi is terrible.
The pool and beach was nice. Very nice location. Rooms were good.
Room was filled with bugs, the restaurant menu never changed, everything is expensive
Nothing. I had to speak to supervisor requesting for the room to be cleaned. The toilet was very offensive from i booked it
It was awesome, the staff were friendly and the rooms looked beautiful
Needs major updating. Rooms are really outdated. No WiFi in our room. No phone. Service/staff not great.
It’s on the beach, food is very good. The staff was conscientious from housekeeping to the manager. I’ve have been there 5 times, and will return. I’m not one for pools, there’s was tempting. The staff makes Island Seas a resort you don’t want to miss!
Room size is great with full kitchen. Location is good however shuttle has never been reinstated to Port Lucaya - taxis readily available. Beach or pool, both good. Activity center busy all day - always something to participate in if you want. Always welcomed back by the staff!
The room was a bit musty and housekeeping is not 24hrs. I needed sheets for the pull out bed and I was not able to get any.
No disponen de expendedores de bebidas ni snacks y los horarios del comedor son muy limitados. Hay que llevar una provista personal porque sino hay que trasladarse en taxi hasta algún mercado ya que están todos distantes del resort
I was not aware they would pressure me to attend a timeshare presentation, trying to make me fill out paperwork with all my personal info. The beach area is a joke, looks nothing like photos. It is very small. We left and went to a different resort to use their beach. Roach in our room. Housekeeping walked in our room without knocking at 5 p.m. I will not stay here again.
The staff kind of tries, but is super unorganized... they just shrug this off and claim they live on “Island Time” for not having buses or rental cars show up on time. I would highly suggest they attempt to cater better to their customer base which does not live on “Island Time”, otherwise this resort might go under. The rooms are not like the photos posted on Orbitz; the rooms are not updated like they are in the photos. The rooms were not very clean etc.
Enternet is not good. Too slow and sometimes goes away
I’ve stayed at Island Seas twice and the second time was even worse. First off the check in process is too long and unnecessary. Why do I need to tell you how much I make a year and my occupation? Secondly there is like zero WiFi. It only works in the lobby. What is the point if it don’t work in the rooms! The cleaning service was terrible. The balcony was full of bird poop. No napkins or anything to wash with in the kitchen but dish washing soap. Also it was my birthday and I had balloons that I asked to get blown up with helium weeks before my arrival but my balloons was never blown up and they kept my balloons I never received back. Overall disappointing experience.
We enjoyed our stay at the resort just wish the WiFi was accessible in our rooms, limited to the lobby area only
Freeport
I loved the resort location and areas, grounds are great, But lacks love, You can tell its just tired, Needs to be upgraded, I mean put some tropical things on the wall not one picture, nothing that makes it feel ,ike tghe bahamas, spend $ 100. and put some pictures up better bedding, it would be a better result, my opinion, also wifi did not work in marina side, maybe a good thing so i statyed off the phone,.
Wonderful location next to Cooper's Castle on the ocean. The property was beautiful, full of flowers and palm trees. We swam with tropical fish and sting rays. Their beach has soft fine sand lined with palm trees. Everyone at the hotel had a smile on their face, and were very friendly to help.
Resort in a beautiful setting with great friendly service.
The property is located in a beautiful beach but it is in need of mayor TLC
The check in process was very long and confusing. If you book through an outside source (ie. Expedia) you have to email the booking confirmation email to them - they would not accept the printed copy that I brought OR the email copy that I had in my inbox. We arrived at 12:30, check in begins at 4, but they didn't tell us to email the confirmation until 4. Because the wifi was so patchy it took almost an hour for them to receive the email and assign a room. The room we received looked like it hadn't been occupied in forever. It appeared clean however after walking around on the floor for 5 minutes my socks were black. There were no towel at all in our room and when we called the front desk to get some sent over the staff that delivered them was rude and rolled his eyes at my husband as he gave him a bag full of towels. The marina view rooms are actually across the street from the resort (outside the locked gates) and overlook a staff parking lot in the front and the canal in the back - there is still a lot of hurricane damage in the houses on the canal there so our view was of dilapitated, abandoned houses. I could go on. Also the timeshare person that you must talk to when you first arrive was only friendly until we declined the invitation to the timeshare presentation. We explained that we were only there for 1 night and that we were leaving the next morning. After that her entire demeanor changed. I would never recommend this property.
Great service, great accommodations, lovely beach. No complaints.
Island Seas Resort Review
Unit pullout couch mattress was dirty, springs old and squeaky and had possible bed bugs. Closet door was broken so it was entirely removed. Bathroom sink drained slowly. Unit housekeeping was poor. Floor was never mopped, stayed sandy the entire stay. We had to ask for new towels. Check out was slow. Was charged 620 some dollars at check out for some reason when everything was paid up at the beginning. Had to get “Shirley” and she was not to be found. Had to wait 30-minutes before something miraculously happened. No Shirley ever came. Staff at front desk could not help with anything but keys. Grounds were well kept. Clean. Green. Nice flowers. Staff was friendly. The gendord on site would not take credit cards. Cash only. Beach was clean and beautiful. Hot tub and pool very nice. The resort restrooms were well kept. Food was tasty at the Coconuts.
The WiFi is very spotty. Had to ask for clean towels several times after housekeeping picked up the dirty ones, they never left any clean ones. Had to ask several times for the safe to be repaired. When we arrived it had no lock. Every time I went to the desk, the people where very friendly and attentive.
Location is great - on beach. Onsite restaurant and bar. Full kitchens a plus. Rooms are spacious, a little tired, could use some updating. Too bad no longer a shuttle to grocery store or Port Lucaya Marketplace however taxi service is excellent.
Restaurant was limited and just satisfactory in taste.
Very Very Slow service. They are nice ppl but they are not professional and very disorganize. Very poor maintenance on the overall facilities.
Beach is nice other than the peddlers on the beach that also are drug dealers.
Nothing really! Except for the beach and the restaurant! The hot tub was never working and when it was the water was warm. The water jets were hardly ever on.
Overall the resort is great. Staff was super attentive. Quiet as far as a resort is with a central pool and Tiki bar. Room with kitchen was clean and comfortable. The main patio overlooked the center pool area and the bedroom slider overlooked the maintenance yard with all the old refrigerators piled up. No real bother to us. My only "meh" is the infrastructure is a bit tired and in need of some work but nothing bad. WiFi in lobby only. I think that is an island issue, not a resort issue.

Everyone working at this property was wonderful! Hot tub and pool were clean and nice. Room was not clean, dusty, and smelled musty. A few locals food shacks to walk to - Conch Salad and Two Dollar bar were fun :)
