The hotel is in a very nice location

Great location.

Everything was great but I must point out the fact that we waited almost 2 hours for our room to be ready. We arrived early (1:30 PM) and understood we were not able to check in until 3 PM. We returned at 3 and the room was still not ready. They offered the lounge area which was warm and clean but had only cookies and coffee. We left and came back at 5 and still waited a few more minutes for the room.

Pristine service but parking...?

It was a terrific experience staying at the InterContinental as always. Professional yet friendly staff. Very conveniently located at the old Montreal touristic spot. It would have been more helpful if there was a clear signage at the parking lot entrance. I can't still properly understand how the parking lot payment works and believe I ended up paying more than I should have. Had to pay everytime I took the car out of the parking lot and it was more than I understood for daily parking rate. Other than that, flawless service and good breakfast buffet.

I stayed only for one night and it was perfect... quiet and comfortable!

My 11 year old son and I stayed here over American Thanksgiving for 4 days. The attentiveness and kindness of the staff really stands out. They went above and beyond to accommodate every request. For example, the kids’ menu was missing from the QR code’s menus, so they read it to me over the phone when I called room service. There were two things that weren’t unbearable but could be improved. First, the restaurant and room service menus were essentially identical which wasn’t ideal, but there are so many dining and take out options in walking distance it’s not the end of the world. Also, the rooms are incredibly dated design wise and are sort of shabby - it was obvious everything white had about 5 coats of paint on it, and there are still phones by the toilet, so it’s been quite awhile since they’ve done a proper renovation. However, the hotel itself is very nice and in a perfect location to explore the city, so if you’re not planning to spend a lot of time in the room it’s a great choice.

Was treated like royalty.

We stayed on the 13th floor (I thought that wasn't a thing?!). Anyway, the room was nice enough...basic for luxury. The ice maker did not work on the floor so needed to go to another floor, annoying but little deal. The bathroom left a LOT desired. Who really uses those tubs?? A bigger shower would have been great. The towels were not soft and absorbent and the toilet paper was the cheap scratchy stuff. Again, luxury?? The mini fridge was barely cool and turned all the way up. The TV, don't even get me started. Why not Smart TV's?? Casting from our phones from our apps is so archaic. The bed was decent. Only complaint was the edges of the mattress is very hard and almost hurts when sitting off the end of the bed. So much to be desired but was only one night. We also came from our favorite place the 2 nights before so...

I liked how clean this hotel was. It was also convenient, we were within a short walking distance of the Old Port, and Old Montreal. Will definitely stay here again!

Property is fine but very old. The rooms and bathrooms are pretty old and could use renovations to up lift the experience.

My stay at montreal

My stay with hotels incontinental at montreal was supberb my husband enjoyed his birthday to the max. Food was wonderful, the service and care they were attentive to everything and everyone.

Very nice with a few issues.

Very nice room and hotel, but we had a problem with lighting functioning, but it was quickly fixed. Room seemed to lack a main light, so it was very dark at night and in morning. Also, we could easily hear conversation from the neighboring room, as if piping right through the wall. The TV and clock radio also created an annoying amount of light for sleep disturbance along with a blue strobe from the smoke detector. For a hotel of this caliber, these issues should be eradicated.

Great location. Walking distance from the Cathedral, Old Port, shopping and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options and the best croissants!

We recently had a three-night stay at the Intercontinental in Montreal. The staff at this property was exceptional. They were welcoming, polite, and professional! Our room was a disappointment. It was very dark and tired. We could not open the black-out curtains without being seen by the room directly across from us. We were very close. Even with the sheers pulled, we could see into the rooms across, and they could see into ours. Two bedside lights were burned out and the drain stopper in the bathroom sink was broken. We did call as soon as were settled and someone came immediately to take a look. Unfortunately, we were told that there were no replacement parts for the bedside lights. They took the drain stopper out of the bathroom sink and we were left without one. Also, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling very badly. We were at the end of a three-week vacation, and we honestly did not have the energy to raise a fuss. So, to be fair, we did not ask for our room to be changed. We just couldn't wait to get out of the room each day to explore the city. There is a certain expectation when you book a room at an Intercontinental. We hope renovations are in this hotel's near future.

Unfortunately, this property, in particular the rooms, are tired and run down. Sadly I would not stay here again. Having said that, one person’s poor experience might be another’s wonderful experience.

You guys need to be more specific with parking add ons. I thought i was paying for parking but come to find out i paid an extra 35$ for the valet ? But all it says is “Parking”.

In addition to the property itself, what made the experience incredibly wonderful was the staff. From check-in to check-out and everyday. The staff at the check-in counter were incredibly helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone.

There are many sketchy characters around your hotel that made us feel unsafe. The carpets in the hotel need to be replaced as well.

Located at a prime estate near Viex Montreal. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pet friendly is a super plus. I would definitively go back.

A bit dated (old style) but clean and functional. Staff was great overall. Only minor complaints: bar doesn’t open until 4 pm (crazy) and dining room was very noisy as waiters were preparing for breakfast as we were eating - dropping several items. Also, audio quality in dining room was horrible. Location is great

Weekend travel

Hotel was very comfortable and the staff was great. Room service excellent. Room was quiet and dark with blackout curtains. The view was pleasing. Location very good and close to everything . The hotel was OK the edit around it. There is no shopping, but they’re plenty of restaurants to go to. We had to take taxis to get to the places we wanted to get to the concierge were wonderful overall the place was clean put all would I go back? I believe I would.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was consistently professional, helpful and friendly. The concierge service met every request like it was their pleasure.

Close to everything

I would definitely stay here again when visiting Montreal again. Breakfast was amazing!!! Everyone was very helpful at the hotel, can not say enough good things about this place!!!

There is a restaurant but is always occupied this is first time I had stayed in hotel and when called for room service well in advance of closing hours they were busy and never answered my call and when requested the front desk to transfer they said the restaurant will call back and which they never did and we slept in hungry. Also there is machine near valet and when asked gentleman standing there to help with valet if the ATM has only instructions in french he was very rude and said " you are at screen so look at screen and use Google translator". Other than these 2 odd experiences overall stay was fine

The hotel was in a great walkable location to explore the different neighborhoods of Montréal. While the hotel was clean and the service accommodating, the interior feels dated and needs to be upgraded. The rooms were dark and the furnishings were old. This is not up to the expectations we have for the Intercontinental chain of hotels.

Great service from check in throughout our stay. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor lounging area beside it. Also the wine bar offered reasonably priced wine by the glass or bottle. The location is great because it’s a short walk to the charming shops, cafes and restaurants in old Montreal. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room that comes with club membership is a great deal, as it includes daily breakfast and snacks. The room was comfortable, and the staff was helpful. Daily housekeeping was inconsistent.

Convenient location for walking tour of old Montreal, great cafes, restaurants and bars, and downtown shopping. It is only 10 min walk from the central station as well. It was great!

The Hotel was incredible and had everything we needed. It was located perfectly for walksbility to all rhe locations we wanted to visit from restaurants to the waterfront activities. It made for a very enjoyable wedding anniversary.

We’ve been offered to upgrade our standard room to a suite with 1 bedroom and a sofa bed for a fee, i asked twice about the beds conditions because we’ve two kids and the answer was “ better conditions than your rezerved standard room” and then i accepted. The sofabed was not a bed it was only a sofa, i called in the midnight the reception and asked how you supposed my kids are gonna sleep in this sofabed?! it was terrible, than they send a single extra bed to the room, we have two kids i said, the answer was even terrible “ they can sleep together “ i said no and tel to bring another one. That tooks almost 1 hours to settle the extra beds So it was a downgrade to suite. Never stay at intercontinental again.

Great Location and Clean Room

A beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was clean, but housekeeping forgot to refresh items. The hotel offers no place to buy sundries, and signage to essentials like parking (underground) and the metro is missing.

Area was nice. Park across from the hotel was clean but it has a homeless population, which is in every city visited. Valet staff and parking was very helpful The small refrigerator in the room was inside the dresser and unventilated so it was overly hot for it cool down the drinks
