Great location

Great stay in Lyon

Excellent service! The breakfast was top notch with many choices. The wait staff was always willing to help with a refill of coffee. The room was very quiet and nicely cleaned each day. I highly recommend.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility is fascinating and cleaniness is perfect.

Amazing

Great location within walking distance to all major sites in Lyon. Fabulous exterior. Very nice lobby and restaurant on site, with great ambiance. An excellent spa, with very attentive staff. Room service works like clockwork, better and more reliable than you'd find in any hotel. Rooms are rather basic, however; bathrooms are clean and modern, but the rest of the room feels dated and cheaply made (old carpets, cheap desks, worn out lamps, etc). One of my TVs did not work. And the gym is tiny and not equipped at all (the sole machine there is semi-broken). Not the level of a facility I came to expect from a hotel of Intercontinental's caliber.

Very nice rooms, only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. Room was very spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend!

Very friendly staff and a fantastic location. Room was clean and well appointed.

Everything was great people are lovely and the location is great. Only annoying part was after you spend nearly €1000 for a room plus pay for breakfast. There should be absolutely no additional charge for an eggs Benedict. It’s absolutely ridiculous and very very embarrassing. Sorry, but that Makes the hotel look so very cheap.

Nice hotel in great arrondissement (2)

Lovely hotel in great location. Our room was adjacent to our sons’ room in the original hotel building. It was extremely quiet and very comfortable. Windowsills could’ve used some cleaning as they were quite dusty and dirty. Otherwise, very nice accommodations and terrific breakfast.

Pros: Hotel is beautiful, staff very friendly. Cons: Air con would not work properly and terrible WiFi. Also noticed a stain on one of the hotel towels.

Beautiful and great as always

Definitely a language/culture barrier. Restaurant doesn't really have a menu for Westerners and entertainment (movies/screenshare) was lacking. However, facility was nice, rooms were clean and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.

The Intercontinental Lyon was an excellent choice. Clean, luxurious and comfortable, the location was central and there are about 6 restaurants on location that were all good options. Breakfast was pricy, but there was an excellent pastry shop around the corner where we went to breakfast. Theodore was the best restaurant on location and they also have a Michelin restaurant at the hotel. Price was reasonable for the stay. Also, check out the Bocuse Market about a mile walk from this hotel. Not to be missed. Lyon is the food capital of France.

Great Hotel and location The staff at this hotel are fantastic. The service and attention to detail is amazing. We stayed for 2 nights in July. Lots do to in Lyon. Hotel is walking distance to most activities. Highly recommend

Stayed for two nights to watch Coldplay. My husband and I just love the place. Chic, elegant interiors, perfect bar and restaurant, very good room and very caring and friendly staff. Definitely stay only in this hotel during next Lyon visit

Beautiful place to stay in Lyon

This hotel was really, really nice. The decor and ambiance was beautiful. The rooms were very well appointed, comfortable, clean and quiet. We ordered room service and it was excellent. The hotel has really interesting history, it's really stunning and well located. The staff, especially the concierge, was wonderful. We would absolutely stay again.

Luxury hotel in the heart of Lyon

This is a very special hotel in the heart of Lyon. The service and level of luxury is outstanding. Do not miss a visit to the Dome Bar for a cocktail.

Pricey but well located and with spacious accommodations. The breakfast buffet was not worth it with mini croissants that has no taste among other things. Our suite was like a loft but oddly the larger closet was upstairs by the entrance and not downstairs where the bed was located.

This hotel may be the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at, it is a converted old monastery/hospital and by way of 5 star hotels, is the most impressive I have ever seen. The restaurant is Michelin quality and the bar with its massive ceilings, is indescribable how gorgeous it is. Close to everything and alongside the river, unmatched location. If you havent been to Lyon, put it on your bucket list, my favorite place in France and this hotel just tops everything.

It is the best hotel in town.It is not just hotel it is entire complex.So many restaurants and cafes in it.It is also right in the center.Management is very professional.I am so happy to stayed there.

Nice hotel not a five star

Room was not cleaned daily and 2 nights there was no turn down service. Had to call Front desk just to get room cleaned. Concierge made dinner reservations at Bistro Theodore on a Sunday when it was closed. Servers in main restaurant were excellent. For a five star this lack of consistency in service is unacceptable

Loved everything about this property - booked a room with a view of the River Rhone - fabulous to wake up to every morning. The staff were most friendly and helpful. Location excellent for exploring the various parts of the city. Fabulous breakfast, enjoyed outdoors in the sunshine. Enjoyed drinks in the beautiful Dome Bar. I read numerous reviews before booking this hotel - one of them said 'why book anywhere else in Lyon?' and they were right! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Everything was great

Great location for restaurants, tourist sites and shopping. Very safe area. Beautiful hotel located in an historic building. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Front desk staff and concierge very helpful. Hotel is very clean as well.

Excellect experience

My family and I came for the night and found this hotel to be amazing. The rooms were beautiful and very clean, the location was perfect - we had a view of the river. The front desk called later in the evening to check and see if there was anything else they could do for us, everyone was welcoming and helpful.

Beautiful, historic property in a fabulous location!

The service was terrible. We needed to talk to the manager but she ignored all of our messages. I would never stay at this or another Intercontinental. The hotel used to be an old hospital. we needed to open 6 different doors and enter with our key prior to entering our room. The pictures from the outside are deceiving.

Beautiful hotel in historic building . Our (large) room wasn’t ready until almost 6 pm (3 pm check-in time). Terrific location.

Peaceful escape in the city!

We are so glad that we reserved the courtyard room. It was so nice and peaceful after exploring the city all day. The beds were super comfortable. The room was immaculate. HUGE bathroom with full soaking tub. The cloisters and architecture was gorgeous. Breakfast selection was good but service was hit or miss. For the amount we were charged, it should be better. We also tried Le Dome. Disappointed in the service which was not welcoming at all. The drinks were terrible. The dome was the only good part about that experience. The location of this hotel was perfect for walking all over the city.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the amenities are amazing! They even had a Christmas market being set up in one of the areas. Excellent service and you feel luxurious!

Excellent choice for hotel in Lyon. Converted hospital. Rooms are very comfortable. Hotel bar has won awards, and many dining options within the hotel complex. Very convenient to shops and restaurants as well as public transportation.

Beautiful Hotel in a great location!

Understaffed. Only 2 people at the reception and they never answer the phone. I called repeatedly the reception, the concierge, they never answer. The concierge desk is never staffed either, only once saw someone there. Poorly managed.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel!

The hotel is in a great location. In addition, such a historic building makes you have a different experience. The rooms were spacious and great bathroom. The checking staff was very professional. Our only concern is related to the concierge. Our experience was less than satisfactory. We ask for a fish restaurant and he immediately told me that I was wrong in asking for fish when I should be asking for meat as this is what Lyon is known for. Even though we are not vegetarian, I would expect people to be more respectful and just make some suggestions regarding fish restaurants and inquiring if we would be interested in other type of food. Also, we ask for a taxi (same individual). We requested a van for the next day. He said he could not guarantee it. Next day at the time we are expecting to go to the airport we see a van outside. However, we were told that this was for another guest. We were 4 people with 5 suitcases, while the people who took the van were 2 people with only 2 suitcases. We had to split our trip in two cabs having to spend twice the price of a ride. Finally, our last meal was at the Hotel Restaurant (Epona). In the beginning everything went very smooth. However, after 30 minutes we are left waiting for our email for 1 hour. It is later that we are told that the electricity went off int he kitchen. I understand that there can be problems, but we would have expected some notification and not left waiting without knowing what is going on.

Excellent hôtel. We got an upgrade for the room. We had a beautiful view of the river. We had a cocktail at the bar that was fabulous.

First class hotel, clean property with courteous staff. Close to many conveniences - restaurants, shopping in a safe city.

Shower no hot water. Took too much effort to have it fixed.

Your site has the wrong phone number for the property. Further you indicated limited hours for check in and this is incorrect as they operate 24/7. This incorrect information was really unsettling as we were unable to reach the hotel when we found we would arrive late at night

Too hot or too cold, large swing in thermostat. Low water pressure/inadequate hot water in shower. Buffet for Breakfast during a pandemic???????? Mattress worn or too soft. Staff was very friendly and helpful in Hotel. Restaurant staff was largely disconnected and unresponsive.
