The staff are very friendly and nice, giving you a special comfort. They are doing their best to make every guest feel special. The hotel itself is very clean and comfy. But as I said, the staff are the ones that make you feel special from the very moment you step into the hotel grounds.
The property, rooms, beach all beautiful and peaceful. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. My only disappointment was the restaurant food. For a 5 star resort the food was mediocre (at best).
From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptional! The property was clean, well appointed and each day brought small surprises! From the reef to the beach, to the thoughtful excursions-it was lovely.
Unbelievable resort, service and friendly
Quiet, clean, great staff, small property, incredible lagoon, snorkeling on site, beautiful beach, on a point with big beach on other side to view sunsets…
Beach is beutiful, well-maintained. Food very limited as it is in sll Polynesian island
Great hotel, recommend going off site for dinner but get breakfast included with your stay.
It is the most peaceful and friendliest place heaven and earth
We had the best over water bungalow… end of pontoon. Nothing blocking our view. Coral clusters under and around bungalows. It is the most beautiful aquarium! You must snorkel there. Food was great and the locals were super friendly. Room was exactly as the website. Staff were very professional.
Paradise hotel
I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was in this hotel. We had the best service from the friendly staff! I felt like royalty. I’m only sad we cannot stay longer!
Wonderful 3-night stay in overwater bungalow. Great condition. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Loved the glass table in the room to watch fish. Very helpful staff.
Wondful environment & staffs
Very good!
Poor food choices, didn’t accept my Expedia credits for VIP.
The staff are so lovely. Love the French music during dinner time by the two gentlemen with a beautiful voice. The fresh exotic juice every morning at the buffet was delicious! Cant wait to return!
The best hotel experience we have. The staffs provide excellent services, and the general manager welcome us in person when arrival. She also say goodbye to everyone when we leave on the port. Feel like home. We got special gift for anniversary and birthday as well. The bungalow we booked is lagoon view, big and in excellent condition with our own deck facing the ocean. This hotel is built on shallow beautiful green water; best for snorkeling and easy to see so many beautiful fish in the water just to my waist level. Will recommend this hotel for sure.
The bungalow view on the water was amazing. Being able to snorkel around the property was awesome. Being on the main island made it convenient to do activities not at the resort. The staff were all very nice and professional.
Smaller and friendlier than its bigger brother across the lagoon, this is the place to stay to enjoy both luxury and genuine Polynesian hospitality.
The over the water bungalows are a must! This place is absolutely breath taking
Loved it! Was beautiful
All was great, even the storm that passed through
It was a dream and perfect way to spend my birthday escape!
Absolutely chilled property if you are in need of some r&r!!!! Great snorkeling right off your over water bungalow. Love the conservation efforts they are doing to create new coral for the fish. The manger and staff are absolutely wonderful and caring. The people of the island so incredibly friendly and welcoming!!! Will be back soon!!!!!
Amazing!
The overwater bungalows were amazing. The water and scenery is gorgeous. Staff were friendly. Our main complaint was the food at the main restaurant. We had a few pretty bad meals and the options were a bit limited. We would recommend going to the Bora Bora Beach club restaurant which is a few minutes walk from the resort
Great location, friendly staff.
Staff was very friendly, rooms were also very clean all around the property was very clean and well kept.
Just spent 3 nights at InterContinental Le Moana and loved every minute of it. The employees are incredibly helpful and polite. The drinks are expensive at the resort but if you walk 5 minutes outside of the resort there are cheaper options. The boat broke down on our transfer from the resort to the airport but a boat swap was quickly organized in the middle of the lagoon and we made our flight. I will be back.
Great place, and very great people
Would definitely recommend
Beautiful resort with great service and staff. The food in the Noa Noa restaurant was the best we ate in all of French Polynesia. We stayed in a lovely overwater bungalow and the amenities were great! The location is on the quieter side of the island which I preferred.
It was so good!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We loved how quiet the resort is and enjoyed our over the water hut. We saw sting rays daily and snorkeled off our hut. We also brought floaties and tied them with rope we brought to our swim ladder. Everyone at the resort was so friendly and always greeted us everytime we saw them. We really loved Vahine she was awesome. There was always fresh food on the menu and a great happy hour. If you swim around the huts I recommend water shoes! I definitely recommend taking the water taxi to the resort it really is an awesome way to start off your vacation.
Excellent
This was not what we expected.
I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful each and every member of Le Moana is. Thank you all and we hope to be back soon
The photos do not do this place justice. It is amazing!
This property is beautiful and so are the people who run it and work there . We were treated amazing 👏 thank you, we cant wait to see them again.
Absolutely everything you dream of and more. We did have a couple of small lizards that took up residence in our bungalow, but they didn’t bother anyone, and they took care of the few bugs that did sneak in when we left the door open overnight. (No bugs during the day)
Great Overwater bungalow
Perfect location on the main island so you can explore Bora Bora you also have the option of taking the ferry to sister hotel on a Motu so really best of both worlds. The Overwater bungalows are well maintained and it's amazing to be able to swim and climb ladder to you Private deck.
This is a very nice, beautiful property. Very clean. and the staff is very nice and professional. I would return to this property.
Wonderful facility but away from grocery store.
The staff were amazing…so kind and pleasant. The resort was beautiful, peaceful, quiet and well cared for. I felt like i had my own ocean.
Nice and clean
Great time
Never been anywhere in the world were I traveled and ran into friendly people on the whole staff and island really! We stayed somewhere else for our last two nights and definitely didn’t compare to the luxury of what we felt staying here!
The staff were very friendly and they always greet you. Nice place to snorkel. There’s an ongoing renovation of the bungalows but it didn’t bother us at all.
Everything on the property is amazing, staff is very attentive and friendly. Rooms have AC and WiFi as well as a personal porch area with personal access to the ocean. Dinner and breakfast was included. Could be more clear on what is included and what costs extra. Limited snorkel gear. Food was fantastic.
They need to bring food and drinks faster. When they sat you at a table and you ordered drinks it may take 10 minutes to get them. And that was when there might have been 5 couples seated.
Our stay @ LeMoana was a GREAT experience! Staff did a great job-very attentive! Our over the water was a great space, but not super clean (especially for the price that we paid). We stayed @ the Maitai over the water prior to LeMoana and it was a better value for the money. Overall, a great property, but overpriced.
This property was like paradise! Top notch facilities and amazing, friendly staff.
Wonderful resort with friendly staff and great location. I hated to leave.
Don't!
Beware! This place is awful. The rooms/overwater villas are ok, but the restaurant and common areas are absolutely awful, dirty, dated and run down. The few restaurants in the local area are very basic. Bora Bora doesn't have much to offer aside from luxury resorts. It's hard to get around to other resorts for food, as boat transfer is required ($300 for a 10 min trip) and I doubt that the resorts accept reservations from people that aren't guests... (They didn't when we called in desperation). When visiting Bora Bora it's essential that you pick a resort with nice dining, bar, pool (if you have kids) and common areas... Bora Bora is the kind of destination where people never leave the resort, as there is essentially nothing on the island to see. Being stuck on Moana is a nightmare. We transferred to Conrad after 2 days, and were slammed with a $6000 charge (based on a fictive price per night). Management staff at Moana gave us hell. Essentially this place will go out of business just like Sofitel a few block down the road. At this point they are just milking it, they don't care about customer satisfaction. Didn't see any American or western guests during our stay. Instead most guests appeared to be Asian. Maybe Asian guests are less likely to complain? It blows my mind that anyone would give this place a good review.
Bora Boar Dec 2023
Lovely property, friendly people, great access to the reef.
This is a beautiful property and I was really pleased to receive a free upgrade to an overwater bungalow! The underwater bungalows are stunning, including the interiors. I only stayed one night. The only disappointment was the food and service. Food was so so, unlike at the Intercontinental in Papeete, which had incredible food and very fast service. Turns out the day I had very slow restaurant service was because it was New Year’s Day, so all the restaurants nearby were closed and the hotel was filled with folks staying in nearby airbnbs. I would have done the same if I were them! But the GM told me the next day that they were unprepared and should have shut the restaurant for outside guests. The staff kindly didn’t charge me for my drink after it took 45 mins to receive after arriving. I wouldn’t use this as a reason not to stay here, just perhaps plan to eat some of your meals at the local restaurants up the road.
They have NO air-conditioned dining areas. Everything is open air and hot!! Air in rooms is at best fair. We requested late check out because our flight does not leave until 6:30 pm. We were told that was not possible so we waited in the open air lobby from 11am check out until 5pm. Nice but definitely NOT 5 star as rated. No shower curtains in bathrooms so our floor flooded at each.shower use. Mosquitoes are terrible!! We saw many guests with multiple bites. We also got quite a few even with long pants and long sleeved shirts. Beautifully land scaped and clean though.
The staff is so friendly! We had the most beautiful view of the lagoon and mountains from our overwater bungalow.
Our stay was fabulous. Excellent accommodations, overwater bungalow with lots of amazing fish. Jet skis, kayaks, snorkeling. Beautiful all around
What a peaceful, beautiful place. The staff were friendly and the amenities luxurious. Snorkeling in the are was rich with wildlife.
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience here. The resort itself was so beautiful and all the flowers and palm trees really beautified it, on top of the crystal clear turquoise water underneath all the overwater bungalows and having a nice backdrop of Mount Otemanu. The food here was incredible, especially with all the fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and seafood, and vanilla. It is some of the best I have had, and I am really into looking for good food. We stayed in a standard overwater bungalow and really enjoyed it. The sliding glass table inside it was nice. The water was easily accessible from the ladder on our dock which was connected to our deck, and the water was only about three feet deep. The staff was very friendly, and they were very helpful in helping us book all our dinners and excursions. The resort had a good amount to do there and offered a variety of other things to do around the island. The resort was at a relatively windy location which was pleasant most of the time, but it got so windy during one or two of our outdoor romantic dinners that our drinks were starting to knock over on the table, which was a little annoying. As a whole, the resort had a smaller, slower, and more relaxed vibe to it, which was nice for me and my wife, since we really wanted to relax most of the time while still being able to get out and enjoy different excursions at our leisure. Overall, 10 out of 10 for this place.
We loved our newly updated overwater bungalow with a view of the mountain and the lagoon. The clear water, free snorkeling equipment, kayaks, and beach chairs were amazing.
Excellent - Happy with our stay!
We spent our 30 year anniversary here in September for 10 nights. The property is in the best spot on the island and absolutely beautiful. The staff is amazing and always continually try to please you. Everything is very clean. The property is a little bit older, but the style is Tahitian style. Which is exactly what we wanted coming to Bora-Bora. The snorkeling right off the beach is amazing. So many colors of fish, coral under each hut. We saw stingrays up and down the beach every day and reef shark as well. We did seven nights in the cottage and 3 nights over water bungalow at the end of the pontoon. The water is shallow all the way out. Definitely worth splurging for. Breakfast was great included each morning. We did the Polynesian show. They did a great job and the food was really good. We had appetizers and drinks through the week. It’s a little expensive, but they were good as well. One block down the street is the lucky house. It has really good food And the Bora-Bora beach club had an amazing dinner and sunset as well. The location is great because you can walk to the market on the street corner or either of those restaurants. If you stay on the other small islands you have to take a water taxi over. Constance at the front desk was so helpful, also Samuel, Alvida, Alban, Teena, Georgina made awesome omelettes! Do the Bora Bora lagoon boat full day. Swam w sharks n rays n Polynesian lunch in water after. Taaroa was an awesome guide!! definitely recommend n go again!
Absolutely beautiful, phenomenal restaurant, fun happy hour, kind people with great service, easy to visit other places on the island.
Excellent stay- liked being on the main island
We stayed in a mountain view bungalow (number 10), which got the late day sun so we could relax by ourselves in early evening after daytime activities. We also had the breakfast + dinner meal plan and found the dinners exceeded our expectations. The location is really convenient, you can walk to the public beach, a few restaurants, and a convenience store to stock your in-room fridge. Pool tables and games on property were also a nice addition. We kayaked to the coral garden and it was easy enough - about 15 minutes there a little less back with the wind behind us. All the staff we interacted with were also very helpful and kind and willing to assist with anything we needed. Room was clean and comfortable. Snorkeling in the lagoon was easy - water was clear, variety of fish types and sizes, also saw sting rays every day. We also rented bikes and went around the island - took about 90 minutes of biking and was very pleasant. Stopped in town for some gift shopping and for lunch at Matira beach.
Had a wonderful time!! Rooms were amazing and very quiet at night. Being able to jump right into the water out of our bungalow was incredible!! The Polynesian buffet dinner and show was so fun!!! Would definitely recommend.
I'm not usually one to give poor ratings, but I was shocked to see this resort has as high of a rating as it does after staying here. the property is TINY and there is only one small beach to lie on which is completely slanted so you can't lay flat. There is only one restaurant worth eating at (vini vini- the french fancy restaurant is EMPTY and inside ) service is super slow and hardly any of the staff speak good english. We had to use google translater for almost all of our trip. The rooms are dated and almost all of the overwater bungalows have foundational cracks.
It was a lovely place. The whole layout was amazing. The beach and pool side by side and the options to eat were great. My wife has a gluten allergy and lactose intolerant that they were able to accommodate. They had gluten free pizza and gluten free pasta. As well as gluten free bread she could eat with her breakfast. The safest she felt was on that resort with the options to eat. Will definitely recommend. Will be going back with our kids. My daughter has the same allergies my wife had so now we know it will be safe for her.
Nice part of the island. And not too expensive.
Great overwater bungalows
The overwater bungalows were clean, spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed in bungalow #23 and the sunrises were beautiful. The fact this resort is on the mainland allowed us options to eat at more choices of local restaurants than the one restaurant on site. We went to a nearby convenience store and purchased our own beer which saved us tons of $$$ instead of buying from the resort bar. They are participating in a corral growing program which makes for great snorkeling right below your bungalow. We had a slight mix-up with one of our dinner reservations and management made sure to follow up the remaining days and make sure everything else was up to our satisfaction; they even went as far as providing us a complimentary bottle of wine to apologize.
The water is so clear, the staffs are very courteous and friendly, and there are other restaurants options right outside of the resort. We have breakfast included, and the breakfast buffet has lots of choices. I had a wonderful stay at the Le Moana Bora Bora.
The property is overall a great place to stay. We stayed in the Mountain View water bungalow and I think that's the better option, even though the Seaview are a little more private. The only downside was it doesn't have a reef you can swim to, but has developed its own small patches of coral.
This was the most incredible experience. We celebrated our twentieth wedding anniversary in an over water bungalow and was greeted with a bottle of champagne and fresh flowers. The most incredible experience and the staff and service were unbelievable. I wish I was still there❤️
We spent our honeymoon at this resort and can’t say enough about how amazing it was. It started with lovely welcome gifts, a beautiful bungalow and the most amazing buffet breakfast daily. We spent hours snorkeling in the lagoon. We loved the fact that we were on the island so we could walk to other restaurants and also the grocery store.
Beautiful property but some rooms need updating. Bungalow foundation posts starting to crack, deck boards coming loose, creaky ceiling fans and floor boards, etc.
It was absolutely beautiful.
Exceeded my expectations
Paradise
AMAZING STAY!!!! We stayed in a horizon view over water bungalow and everything about it was superb. The bed was so comfortable, a pillow menu if you're into that. The staff are friendly and helpful (apart from one concierge who never had a name badge on but she always seemed like she couldn't be bothered) The location is perfect, you face east so watch the sun rise. Then across the road to the main hotel entrance there is a public beach facing west so people gather for sunset. The crystal clear water is home to a variety of coloured fish and every day we'd see the resident sting ray patrolling the waters as well as a baby reef shark. Every evening it was the leopard rays who made their appearance. Room service is cheap at 1000 Xpf and it means you can enjoy eating on your own private deck overlooking the lagoon. Local restaurants nearby and Bloody Marys offer a pick up service from the hotel for a fee.
Paradise on Earth
Hotel is a true Paradise. Management upgraded our room to an overwater bungalow which was just amazing. Staff was superior but Ms Rinako went all out in the Concierge to to change our Air Tahiti ticket spending almost an hour on phone and finally was successful. Toto of front office was extremely helpful and profesional in meeting our requests. We are definitely coming back!!!
Guests-in-2023
It is picture perfect where we stayed at. Resort fees and services are not so great. Staff and room service are mediocre. Daily cleaning is rushed and not up to par. Restaurant staff is not super friendly. We are also charged upward $2,000 more in fees and taxes for 5 days stay on top of our paid accommodation. Please make sure to inquire all charges and fees upon check-in.
A very good resort. Well maintained. Staff was nice and extremely attentive. Very good food and enjoyed having access to rest of the island. Only complaint was no on-site fitness center.
AMAZING!! From check-in to check-out, we had the most incredible stay!! The staff exceeds perfection and we’re so helpful.
The layout of the hotel property took advantage of the beauty surrounding it. Small details of the lodgings - like the glass-top coffee table looking down to the sea was clever and appreciated
Was a beautiful property. Our only complaints were that the air conditioner did not work, despite having all the doors and table closed it was cooler outside than it was in the bungalow.
The facility is good, but it could be bad
A very pleasant, unique experience. This is truly paradise.
Very beautiful location on a lagoon with amazing views. Several restaurants within walking distance. Staff were all amazing!
The service at the pool bar was horrendous. Needed to get our own drinks multiple times.
Great anniversary stay
We stayed March 10 -17 and it was a wonderful stay! The staff was always friendly. The buffet breakfast was great with all kinds of food. Turn down service was great with surprise warm towels delivered everyday during happy hour! We picked this resort because of it’s convenient location. Avis rent a car is walking distance. We drove around the island one day I would stay here again. I wish I was there now! I miss my morning ocean swim. 5 stars for sure!
Very nice/amazig surroundigs (the lagnee is amazing). The hote was great.
The property was dirty and ill-maintained and there was insect feces regularly faking into everything from above. When I told them about it they said it’s normal. Apparently it’s normal to have insect feces on your furniture, room service food and clothes. When I tried to leave this horrible place earlier than I was supposed was to they imposed a penalty of one night’s stay. Staff were all jittery and anxious about their managers and were constantly telling us to wait instead of sorting things out with their managers. Terrible place with the worst cleanliness and staff I have encountered. Overpriced swill-bucket!
Great staff.great amenities
The best place I have ever stayed in my life! I thought it was much better than Thalasso Spa because of the decor and fish right underneath the room. I even saw three manta rays right there at the rooms. I will cherish the memories I had here for the rest of my life.
Amazing hotel
We stayed at InterContinental Le Moana Feb 2023 (end of pontoon OWB #28). This resort and it's location were exactly what we wanted. Our experience here was absolutely perfect, the staff were amazing! We had the buffet breakfast each day, included and never ate lunch, the buffet was so filling and had such a wide variety of foods. My experience began two weeks before my arrival when I emailed the resort to confirm they had my reservation (made on Orbitz) and they confirmed that all the information was correct and that a "end of pontoon" OWB was waiting for me. There are only 4 "end of pontoon" OWB and they have the best views and are most private, so that was important! When I arrived, Constance Hokuh was our check in person, she was so friendly, and treated us like VIP's! She gave us a tour of the resort and walked us to our bungalow. The end of pontoon bungalows are a full 10 minute walk from the shore, it is way out there! We were also greeted by Laurence the Resort GM, who came out to personally welcome us and wish us a happy anniversary. She also sent champagne and macrons to our room as a welcome. I liked that the resort is on the main island for access to different restaurants and shopping.
We were able to take kayaks from the beach to the Boral Gardens and see one of the prime spots in Bora Bora on our own! The bungalows are wonderful and the staff was extra attentive and thoughtful. We walked to nearby spots, like the Bora Bora Beach Club and Bloody Mary's (a bike ride), for great dinners and sunsets. We rented bikes next door and a boat down the street at La Plage. The concierge also has great options for guests. Feeding the fish through the coffee table was a highlight! We had names for our special fish.
Do not book this hotel through Expedia. Online it said I could cancel hotel same day and I did. However Expedia did not bother to cancel with the hotel so I was charged the full amount after being told by a representative that I would be refunded. I contacted the hotel personally but they declined to refund the money stating the reservation was not canceled. Total waste of $1500. Very disappointing.
Love the staff here. They make the Tahitian experience feel like paradise even more.
We will stay here again! We loved everything about it. The workers were fabulous and we were greeted by the Laurence many times and she was always so friendly! The breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing. And the tahitian dancing show was fun! Everything was perfect and we will stay here again!

The beauty and the wonderful service!
