Lovely staff and hotel

The room was spacious, a bit dated but the bathroom was exactly as the pictured showed - luxurious! The balcony on the waterfront is so pretty although there is not much of a view of the city. The staff are so polite and accommodating. The breakfast was one of my favourites! And the Saigon restaurant staff and staff at the Italian restaurant treated you like kings and queens, thank you to the lovely staff who served us.

An absolute delight

The staff is their best asset. They were excellent in every department. The breakfast was awesome. And our room had a super view across the lake.

An upmarket five star hotel built partly into the Westlake is this very well maintained Hotel about half an hours drive from the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Has pretty much everything one would expect of a hotel in this segment. Seeing the sunset at the Sunset Bar (on site) with a sunset martini was special. Was disappointed with a couple of issues: 1. You get woken up by the break of dawn ( which can be an issue if you were hoping for a lie in) as the windows are only furnished with a Roman shade that let’s plenty of light in. The absence of a sheer curtain means it’s a see-all from the outside. 2. The Indian station at the breakfast buffet was a disgrace! The attempted minuscule medhu vada was deepfried to being burnt, the poha was flavourless, the puri got the same deep fry burn as the vada. The remaining breakfast options thankfully were a delight. Perhaps the Indian station can be removed! 3. The rigid booking and reservation policy. Unwieldy even to Expedia’s frustration. So stark compared to some of the smaller players who would listen to the rationale and try and help. But not with IHG.

Great Hotel

처음 온 하노이에서 지낸 첫 호텔. 매우 훌륭한 호텔리어와 서비스는 멋진 경험. 새벽의 잔잔한 호수 소리, 하루를 풍성하게 맞이하게 할 조식, 뜨거운 햇살 아래 썬 배드와 야외 풀, 그리고 붉은 노을이 지는 선셋 바. 호텔에 대한 특별한 경험을 줄 수 있는 곳으로 기억될 것 같다. 노후화되었지만 부실한 것이 아닌 엔티크한 매력을 느끼기 좋다. 만약 하노이에 다시 온다면 이 호텔을 선택할 것이고 그것은 전부 호텔리어들의 친절 덕분이다. P.S. Overwater room에서는 Gecko의 출현을 조심해.

Lovely property .. service could improve

Stay overall was nice. Sunset restaurant went an extra mile to accommodate us for a late dinner. Room was good. The only negative was the check out experience. We were in a big hurry as we were late for our flight and the check out staff did nothing to help. Rather delayed the final billing due to a confusion at their end

Located in a quiet area, but far from the key areas for fun. I was aware of this while booking the hotel but it was actually not the most convenient once I arrived at the destination. Hotel is okay, not as nice as the pictures. Facility was kind of outdated. If you are visiting for just a few days as a traveler, I recommend staying in the Old Quarter area instead.

The breakfast was beyond expectations .The service was royal and the staff were helpful and friendly. Pillows and bed were comfortable. The carpet in the rooms looks old and you have to take a taxi or grab to go anywhere.

The hotel is in a quiet part of Hanoi, about 20 minutes or so from the Old Quarter. The outdoor look is a bit dated, but the room was comfortable. Excellent staff and service.

It’s 20 years old property. Not maintained well and condition of the property is terrible. They has maintained only the reception lobby and restaurant. Rooms are too small and lot of lizards and mosquitoes. Do not recommend to this property at all. Not worth for money. Great, if hotels.com consider refunding partial.

A beautiful property with a great staff that always made you feel welcomed.

Nice stay

Very nice hotel and staff. Great coffee and breakfast service. The hotel grounds are peaceful. The roads outside are chaotic and dangerous— walk with extreme caution. Or better yet stay inside the hotel grounds. I didn’t try the pub but I tried both restaurants for supper and they were very good. In particular the waitress in The Saigon (unfortunately I didn’t get her name) was very helpful after I ordered a Vietnamese Black Chicken (google it!). She showed me what a mistake that would have been and suggested a tasty alternative. Two suggestions: install spring-loaded toilet seats, and some kind of soft-close mechanism on the doors to minimize the noise.

Friendly staff, cleanliness, housekeeping service is good. But the food at Saigon restaurant was really under par, not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Fantastic place to stay.

This place is absolutely spectacular. We stayed here for three nights. The morning buffet was to die for. After a day walking around in Hanoi you will appreciate how quiet it is on the lake. Staff couldn't do enough for us… Highly recommend staying here.

Good value with an excellent Breakfast. The quiet area away from the Old Quarter and yet within 10min drive was one of the main reasons for chosing this Hotel. The Hotel could do with a little rennovation but overall loved our stay here and have no qualms about staying here again. Staff was amazing from the moment we arrived to when we left and can't ask for more from them.

First Vietman Trip

The staff and facility was top notched and had everything you needed. Great location, great people, great food, what more could you ask for.

We are a family of 4 with two young children. It is safe to say that we all enjoyed our 4 night stay. The staff were all friendly, helpful with the internet connections of our multiple devices, and accommodating our request for late check out. I liked that the hotel was away from the noisy old quarters and very accessible via taxi. The pool is especially nice and good size. My only negative point is that the property itself is about old and run down but nevertheless acceptable.

Had travelled to Hanoi for a 3 nights. The property is well located in the heart of the city on the Westlake. The sunset from the sunset bar are amazing to watch out for. Our room was located on the water facing the city view but got glimpse of the Lakeview and had a view of the sunrise. The breakfast had a big spread and staff is friendly and attentive. My wife birthday was in the 7th and we had a day trip to Halong bay and the staff provided a cake and card to wish her well. I would recommend the stay to my family and friends and definitely will visit again when in Hanoi.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel. The standard of service is excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. I love the location and all the amenities. The breakfast is amazing! I do think they could update their TVs in the room and entertainment systems to modern standards. But then again most people don’t come to Hanoi to sit in their rooms and watch films! I’ll definitely stay here again!

Great pho tel and friendly staff

I stayed 3 nights. Buffet have same main dish for the 3 days that I stayed.

Staffs are very friendly and helpful. But the hotel room is outdated.

We had a very pleasant stay. This is an excellent property. Very clean & had a big spread of breakfast.

Wonderful stay with family for 3 days with staff taking excellent care of all our needs and going out of the way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The services offered in the Club lounge are excellent, not to mention every friendly Mr. Minh who takes great care of our needs and great to have a chat!

Probably because of Vietnam TET holiday, too many people, and seems the staffs was not flexible enough.

It's my second visit and I enjoyed staying again! The hotel is a bit far from the busy area so It was very quiet and the traffic was less crowded. I stayed in the room on the lake which offers a great view! The room was spacious and good enough to stay two people. My mom also loved the room and the view. All the staffs were very friendly. Also, I recommend using Sunset bar to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

I have stayed at this IC a number of times over the years. This time I note the hotel seems to be focusing on the package tour crowd and has lost its sense of class. The rooms were minimally equipped--very few amenities (because their demographic will walk off with everything?) including tissue in the room. Had to eat breakfast in a hallway because the dining room could not hold the crowd. The cocktail we ordered was from a mixer. Basically after paying $204 for a night, I was asking myself "why?" This isn't the IC I remembered.

Overwater lake view room was incredible with uninterrupted views of city skyline. Would stay here again.

This place needs a bit more colour

I have no complaint about this place. But I would suggest it have more colour in the design, such as wall, tiles, proof tiles to make it look more beautiful. It looks just white and beige and boring.

Amazing time in Hanoi

The hotel staff were amazing. By far the best guest experience. The hotel itself was beautiful and situated right on the lake. The room was cooled and waiting for our arrival and was perfect (good size, well appointed, comfortable, great view). The breakfast was phenomenal and again the staff and service were the best. Definitely stay here if you get the chance.

Rooms are very old and rug dirty. Needs to be remodeled immediately. Disappointed in the price I paid for the room and the quality received. I would have stayed at JW Marriott

Unsatisfactory

Disappointed how run down this once a 5 star hotel was. During this covid time guests were mainly local Vietnamese with loud manners using health clubs as well as room next door.

Perfect Hotel destination for business or pleasure

Beautifully located and designed hotel with fine views over West Lake from every room. High standard, quick and efficient, from front office/reception to restaurants and room service. All staff are friendly, courteous, attentive and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble and one is always left with the impression that great pleasure is taken in providing a kind and efficient standard of service. There are so many public areas in the hotel where one can relax and be comfortable. A special feature which I liked was the Business Club/ Lounge with areas for working and reading or relaxation with a large restaurant area where breakfast can be taken if you do not wish to go to the main coffee shop, as well as evening cocktails and light refreshments. Altogether a delightful two day stay in a comfortable ambience and relaxing atmosphere.

I stayed in an over water room, which in itself was really quite nice. It was a bit of a walk from the main building and up several stairs so, keep that in mind when booking. The balcony overlooked the lake and was directly across from the driving range, which is a great design feature, but the lake is terribly polluted so all you see brown water with nets in for the driving range. The smog hanging over all of Hanoi also prevented you from seeing much of the lake, anyway. The room decor is nice but is old and in need of refreshing. The bathroom has a lovely huge soaker tub but the fixtures have lime buildup on them, so, while running a bath, the water was spraying out from the faucet and went all over the floor. The towels are thick and amazing. The walls are thin so you can hear everything from the next room. I ate at 2 of the restaurants during my stay and the food is delicious but expensive, but the hotel is close enough to many restaurants where you can find every type of food if you want to pay cheaper prices. The staff are amazing and accommodating and most speak very good english.

The hotel is located in a lake which makes it charming and unique. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is good. We’d stay here again!

The idea of a property on a tranquil lake near Hanoi was appealing. The prices seemed a little high but we went ahead and booked. The initial room was terrible, very smelly and dark. You could see and be seen by everyone walking past. My wife and I are more private people. The staff readily offered another room that was acceptable but I wish it didn’t have to happen. Breakfast buffet was huge but nothing was exceptional.

Rather old property- good stay

The club lounge was quite good with a lot of options for food & drinks & excellent service by the manager. Apart from that the rest of the hotel was just about ok. The rooms need to be renovated

Club lounge and staff were excellent. Lakeview, limousine service were also good. Dinner at Milan restaurant was superb and we visited two days in a row.
