This property is exquisite and luxuriously fine with top-notch staff and amenities.

Amazing customer service. Treated like royalty and always with a smile. second time staying here and doesn’t disappoint.

Charles recognized us from the moment we arrived. He help with our luggage to our room, and was very courteous, as on our previous stay last summer. We will be back soon. We just love Intercontinental in Bordeaux. Remus USA

Weekend in Bordeaux

Loved the location, friendly staff and the beautiful room overlooking the opera house!

Our "suite" had a very odd layout, long narrow, not gracious. We had an interior courtyard view, which was no view at all. The heat did not work properly and we were often cold in the room. Management brought in two ugly portable heaters which did not help. Would never stay here again, nor would I recommend the hotel

The room had a very strong off putting perfume smell, possibly room spray. We had to open the window to air out the room. It was so strong, we had to leave the window open, We had to ask several times for facial tissue for our bathroom. They would agree to send some, but didn’t follow through. In the early evening we asked the front desk for water for our room, and they advised that everything was closed and that they were unable to do so. We went out and purchased water at a nearby store. Bordeaux was beautiful, but we were underwhelmed by the hotel’s customer care. The lower rating for “around the property” was due to construction.

The shower/tub is very difficult to get in and out of.

This stunning property did not disappoint! The customer service exceeded all expectations, the breakfast was stellar, and the guest room was gorgeous. I will definitely be back.

Very small and old rooms and bathrooms. Very small windows and dark rooms. Lighting is poor and complicated to turn on. Breakfast choices do not reflect the value of property and 5 stars rating.

The concierge group was amazing, extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic staff and amazing location

Beautiful, classic property in an ideal location for a walking exploration of Bordeaux. Staff and service were exceptional. The only less than perfect thing was the grout in the wonderful bathroom, it was dingy and missing in some spots. Aside from that little issue, it was everything one would expect from a grand hotel.

The hotel is classic and beautiful. We will be back!

Excellent hotel, service was amazing and it is in the very heat of Bordeaux. In walking distance to nearly all attractions. Spa and sauna/ steam room are therapeutic and beautiful, rounding the day off with a visit to the roof top bar with is gorgeous views over the roof tops of Bordeaux.

So, so.

They managed to charge the car - a plus. TV remote not working due to flat batteries. Breakfast disappointing - eggs undercooked, slow coffee service, bananas overripe; poor value for €38 pp.

Check-In was amazing, desk was kind and service was top notch. We had a late arrival and the concierge arranged last minute reservations nearby quickly at a nice place. Rooms are agin, but clean and beds were comfortable and all was very clean. Well done.

Beautiful Bordeaux in the Intercontinental Hotel.

From the moment we checked in with Maya at reception on Christmas eve, to the minute we checked out four days later, every member of staff made our stay feel like a family Christmas holiday (but in a good way!!). The food, the wine, the atmosphere were a joy to behold and experience. I can't wait to return to Bordeaux and stay in this majestic hotel again.

Second stay in September 2023. We love bordeaux and Le Grand Bordeaux. The service and food are excellent, even better than 2019 trip.

Excellent hotel. Classic, elegant and in good conditions.

I cannot say enough good things. Everyone has exceptional customer service from when we got there until we left. We arrived by car. They unloaded our bags and parked. We went to dinner and when we got back our bags were already up. They even had a personalized welcome message on the tv. The room was exceptional. So clean and beautifully done. I don’t know what Josephine’s salary is but you need to triple it. She suggested restaurants and even brought canalles to our room. So amazing. I hope she sees this! We appreciate you!

What stands out for this property is the LOCATION. It’s really the center of the city. Beyond that, there were issues — 1) when we checked in, they offered us a room that needed to use the service elevators to get there. Really? We said NO. 2) The hotel, especially the public hallways, are in bad need of updating. There were often unpleasant smells wafting through the corridors (like food prep). The rooms appear to have been recently renovated. 3) Servicing the room was an issue. We had to remind the hotel daily to clean the room, otherwise it wouldn’t be done. Really? 4) The fake silk flowers all throughout the property have to go. 5) The in-house restaurant options and breakfast were fair and service was efficient and good. Overall, location was great, service was uneven and the property needs updating. And don’t agree to the rooms where you have to take the service elevators, unless you’d enjoy riding with the cleaning and maintenance staff.

It was a wonderful stay.

Nice hotel only complaint would be housekeeping

KLM did lose one of our bags and the hotel staff did a great job to help me locate it.

Staff was good service, i didn't like breakfast menu everyday same we were staying 4 night 5days ,room was so cold, first day we had meal for dinner at hotel oysters wasn't fresh them we were both of them problem stomach.

Long Weekend Trip

Our stay at the Intercontinental Bordeaux was amazing. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were looked after so well. The room was fantastic and the bed was so comfortable. The food both at breakfast and in the evening at the restaurant was superb. The staff were extremely helpful and kind and so attentive. The whole experience was a joy and we are looking forward to our next visit to Bordeaux already.

What a wonderful experience. Cant say enough good things about this gem. Gorgeous decor, heavenly beds, delicious breakfast, excellent staff. One of the most beautiful (read fancy) hotel I have had the pleasure to stay at. This is not just a stay, it is an experience.

Liked: Front desk staff excellent; concierge staff uneven, but the best of them were outstanding; beautiful facility with delightful roof-top bar; buffet when available was excellent; located at the top of the blocks-long shopping area. Disliked: Difficult to access due to stanchions always blocking drive entrance; terrible view from room; cramped room with nowhere to put luggage; housekeeping staff took multiple trips or multiple personnel to accommodate simple requests. Bordeaux city is hell to drive in.

We enjoyed our stay. Very central for everything in Bordeaux. Staff are extremely friendly, all spoke good English. I eould recommend this hotel for your stay in Bordeaux.

We liked everything about this hotel. The locatuon at the heart of bordeaux, the rooms and dinning options and a great service.

BEWARE!! The hotel are encouraging people to get on flights & stay with covid. If you are travelling with anyone vulnerable, avoid at all costs. I booked this holiday as 40th birthday present for my friend. Unfortunately my friend got covid 2 days before. I phoned the hotel and explained this, I was told someone would call me back within the hour. They never did. I phoned Expedia & explained that even though we didn’t book cancellation, I only booked a couple of weeks before and it was about £250 more to get cancellation. We were happy to pay a penalty to change the dates & we still really wanted to come but were worried about flying with Covid and infecting other people on the flight. Expedia agreed & said that was possible but the hotel would have to agree. Expedia phoned back and said the hotel refused they said just get on the flight, stay in the room but they just would not provide room service. Ultimately we didn’t think it was worth infecting the other passengers on the plane. I lost £1500 and my friend lost her surprise birthday present. Such a lack of integrity & care from a 5 star hotel. Couldn’t be more upset and disappointed.

Bordeaux is terrific!

Bland

It was an expensive stay as is expected at this time of year (New Year). However, there was no real celebration at the venue and little else in the city itself it appeared. The food in Le Bordeaux restaurant was poor and over priced for what was served. The staff are friendly in the hotel but despite staying in one of the most expensive suites we were expected to queue to get into the bar in the foyer or the roof top bar?? Bordeaux is a lovely city and there are far better value options for both accommodation and food.

Wonderful location! Such a great hotel. We were hushed a lot with our 5 year old swimming in the pool since spa treatments were going on so maybe they should have specific swim times for children since it was almost impossible to be totally quiet.

Intercontinental Bordeaux Le Grand was the perfect choice for our trip to Bordeaux. Everything was outstanding and the service in particular was exceptional.

Great property, clean, friendly and great location.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the property. We were able to get to our room 1 hour before the check-in time, which we really appreciated after a long trip. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. All the staff, from front desk, concierge, housekeeping to dining, were friendly and professional. Also, the hotel is in an excellent location. Shopping, dining, sightseeing options are all within walking distance.

The staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and although we were in France, everyone was very proficient in English.

The bad The excellent and the Ugly

Booked room 6 months in advance got a room way back had to take 3 different elevators to get there I approched the reception and Oliver went out of his way to get us a different room he is a Rock Star. The concierge department are a bunch of snobs especially Remy, what a un accommodating person, if I had someone with this total disregard for costumer service in my firm I'd fire him on the spot

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Bordeaux

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Bordeaux with convenient valet parking and a luxurious SPA on the upper floors of the building. The only negative is low ceilings (if you want to find fault).

Location was perfect, however, it was overpriced, the room was cramped and the ‘pool’ was no bigger than a plunge pool

It would have been a tough day

We arrived before noon and my wife was not feeling well. The staff made us comfortable while they worked to get us into a room. They were able to get us into our room early and she was able to rest in comfort. It made our day!

Nearly perfect. One complaint. There is nothing s a beautiful lobby lounge and bar area. But it is closed every night because rooftop beach club bath is open. Makes no sense that both are bit open in the evening.

Staff was excellent

Grand style and service. The "Night Beach" on the roof, cleverly named, affords a panoramic view of the whole city and a great place to watch fireworks. I found no flaws at the hotel.

Staff was incredible

Great location in Bordeaux. It is easy to walk to the main sites of Bordeaux, there are many restaurants close by as well as shopping. The hotel helped arrange a full day wine tasting tour that was fabulous.

Ideal 5-star hotel absolutely perfectly located in lovely Bordeaux, which I, who don't drink, visited for its 18thC architecture (built on the blood of slaves, of course, as if it were Charleston), not its wine. Great hotel.

THE place to stay in beautiful Bordeaux

This is a superb hotel in an awesome location in a magnificent city - what can I say. If you are thinking of staying in Bordeaux, this is the only place to consider. Everything is right from the moment you arrive to the (sad) moment you leave

I liked the location of the property. I did not like that the room was very small and it was very difficult to get into the shower.

Classic hotel, very good service.

Not the place I remember

This is my 4th or 5th stay in this property over the pas 12-15 years. The executive suite they gave us on the 4th is clean and Newly painted but charmless. Low ceilings and very small windows. The couch is hard and there is no chair with the desk, just a stool. The safe did not work at first which slowed us down.

Hotel’s concierge was too eager to take commission from taxi company by pushing us to use taxi to the airport when we ask about bus timetable. Reception staff, breakfast staff were world class experienced. Hotel’s bar is a bit lack of atmosphere and very short in wine list.

Great location abs service. Rooms are tiny.
