Had a lovely stay at The Imperial Fine. Cath the owner was most welcoming and helpful. The pool was a real treat to plunge into at the end of a hot days sightseeing. Excellent location as easy to walk to everything. Had 2 excellent meals and the newly refurbished Broken Hill pub.
It was all good
It. Was good knowing it was an old pub that has been refurbished
Great location, beautiful pool area and fabulous host. Cath greeted us at the door and offered advice on places to eat and things to do.
As a couple we have travelled extensively both locally and overseas. What we seek in accommodation is ambience, comfort and security. Imperial Fine Accommodation provides this in spades. From the spacious well lit rooms to a nicely decorated sitting/drawing room and a billiard room (full size billiard table) it delivers. In our view this is the best place we have stayed. Cath and Craig are wonderful hosts. You'll feel like a guest and not a customer.
Cath was great, highly Recommend 😊
The property is central and a beautiful old converted property. The manager is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is spacious and has a great balcony with views over the town. Fabulous! Only drawback is no smart tv in an apartment which is quite expensive, over $300 per night.
Great to stay in an historic building
The class of yesteryear carried forward
Let me tell you - the rooms are HUGE! Received a warm welcome on arrival which was matched by the accommodation . Although just a short walk from Argent Street this is a very quiet area and the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out our 6 bags ( yes I know 6 is far too much ). A shame we were leaving early next morning as one night here was not enough. We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of accommodation in Broken Hill. You can't go wrong if you choose the Imperial.
The room is absolutely fabulous with its high ceiling, warmly painted walls and beautiful desk. Additionally, the pool is like a oasis in the desert. Cath & Craig are wonderful hosts who respect your privacy but are open for a chat if you like.
Beautiful old building, nicely restored.
Beautiful room, a step back in time to a graceful hotel. Fresh milk in the fridge really appreciated. Facilities for continental breakfast would have topped it off.
We had an excellent stay. Cath met us with a warm greeting. The room was excellent, very comfortable. Good TV and wifi. No Foxtel or Netflix. Would highly recommend this property.
Broken Hill Trip
Great room and service. Close to the Main Street as well
Beautiful building very well located. Lovely spacious room with all the comforts and it is so nice to enjoy the lovely breakfast provided in your room.
Loved the location. Close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. The manager was keen to help us with recommendations which was much appreciated.
Comfortable, clean and great service. Very helpful hosts
Amazing hotel , the owners were beautiful and helpful ! The swimming pool was also amazing just what we needed at the end of day ! Rooms are large and beautifully decorated , air conditioning was left on all day and a must for this area ! Close to town an easy walk ! loved our stay !
This was my 4th stay at the beautiful old Imperial hotel and nothing had changed except the owners. Cathy was so warm and welcoming throughout the stay ... true Broken Hill hospitality all the way .The room was large and comfortable and clean ., a great DYI stocked kitchen and the hotel's is located right in the heart of town . Being an ex local it was great to do all the local attractions but after a HOT day it was perfect to return and sit on the hotel's grand balcony with a beer at sunset . If your heading to the HILL stay in a little history and soak up the old world peacefulness.
Great location. Beautiful pool. Friendly Owner.
Beautiful old building, tastefully decorated with thoughtful personal touches like fresh cut flowers. Amenities are superb. Huge verandah with good furnishings. Stunning pool area set within the walls of the old stables, with lovely furnishings and plants. Exquisite garden - relaxing area for reading and or meditating among gorgeous rose bushes. Guest kitchen with every appliance you could imagine, and good selection of foods and drinks, clean and tidy.
A lovely old building with a lot of character and all the comforts anyone would require.
Love the history of the heritage building. Beautiful place and rooms were lovely.
A wonderful hotel with all amenities in a perfect position. Excellent hosts. Will definitely return.
Old world charm and hospitality. Having cheese and biscuits provided for a drink on the balcony was a great way to recover from the long trip.
Great room & service. Excellent location. Happy to recommend to others & would certainly stay again.
Different. A beautiful old hotel building converted into 7(?) very comfortable units, each with an en-suite. Ideally located for walking Broken Hill. Communal kitchen for cooking breakfast worked well for us as we got to meet other guests.
The owner Kath was always on hand to answer any questions or provide us with anything we needed. I liked the fact that we could cook our own breakfast & there was plenty to choose from : cereal, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit...
We both had a wonderful sleep
Great attitude and helpfulness at check in when the Wotif booking had not been received by the hotel
Heritage hotel set close to the center of town in broken hill. Beautiful
Precious beauty - watch the shadows from the Iron lace ironwork move across the verandah
The pool was fantastic and the owner was a lovely host
Quiet/Clean/Private/Friendly/Super Comfortable/Cooling Works GREAT!! Breakfast Is a great set up and lots to choose from!!
I had a great room - huge! With a wonderful desk, and a lounge. The breakfast kitchen had all I needed. This was a great stay. Thank you.
Lovely accommodation within close walking distance to all shops and eating facilities.
Such a beautiful historic building that has been kept really well. Unfortunately the beds were really uncomfortable.
A gem in the outback. Beautiful hotel with great hosts. Not to be missed as a family or couple.
An extremely beautiful old hotel in fine condition. Staff very attention, the included breakfast was plentiful. The room was tastefully decorated and spacious. Would stay there again and do recommend it.
GRAND OLD BUILDING LARGE BEDROOM VERY CLEAN WILL GO BACK SOME TIME FOR AN OTHER STAY
Hotel close to everything and outdoor spaces inviting like the wide verandahs and rose garden.
Nice accommodation, good facilities, old world charm, good lcoation
WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY
This was an amazing place to stay, rooms were great. Lovely cook your own breakfast. Closet to everything, and lovely helpful staff. It all really made our holiday. Susie
Quaint older style refurbished hotel
Everything provided, free wifi and breakfast included. Easy access, parking provided. Enjoyed our stay there.
Easy and comfortable.
Easy to find, friendly owner, clean, and close to town.
A charming old world guest house with all modern amenities. A welcome change from boring motels and a pleasure to be able to cook your own breakfast with everything you could want laid on. A bonus was it was only two short blocks from the Main Street.
Old-fashioned, comfortable hotel. We enjoyed our stay here very much. There's still a billiards room should you care to indulge.
Fantastic hospitality!!
Great accommodation. Owners are just lovely and could not be more helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
The Imperial Fine Accommodation lived up to its name in every sense and was an excellent base from which to explore Broken Hill and thé district. Its heritage look and feel with wide first floor veranda gave it an excellent heritage feel with the results of careful restoration there to experience including the addition of ensuite facilities. The shared kitchen facilities to prepare breakfast each day were also excellent. All in all a great experience that we are happy to recommend to other travellers.
Great place
Lovely Old furnishings- clean and tidy, classic old furnishings, generous breakfast. Great view form the balcony.
Full of charm
Brilliant, love the old style
Grand Old Lady
Big downstairs room, nicely furnished. Liz, the housekeeper was very obliging. Cooked breakfast provisions provided for cook yourself, which we thought unusual given the rate. Also cereals and yoghurt provided. You don’t have to clean up though. Good provisions. Extra benefits to the rate are a beautiful wide verandah to have breakfast on or enjoy at night with a glass of b.y.o. wine and thoughtfully provided selection of choose yourself cheeses - Brie, Camembert, Castello blue and a cheddar. Biscuits, sweet and savoury, apples, oranges there to help yourself. There are lounges to use and a pool room, complete with help yourself port. Beautiful outdoor area around the pool. Very Tuscan looking. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend. Only other comment is that it is slightly musty in the halls, due to age no doubt. We also would have liked to find information in our room about the hotel and it’s history and age.
Not particularly “fine” accomodation, but still ok
The experience differed from the expedia hype and description. Has a truly GREAT snooker Room, nice pool and gardens and very spacious rooms, laid back atmosphere. But I was imagining a luxurious escape with the wife judging by the price and description, which it didnt really deliver on a little dissapointed sorry.
Perfect
We stayed in the apartment which was just perfect. All facilities needed for a short holiday were there : comfort, aircon, space, great breakfast idea, walking distance to main street, access to verandah which provides roof top views of this interesting town, swimming pool plus outside relaxing space. And decorated so well too - quality.
An oasis of charm, comfort and camaraderie.
An oasis of charm, comfort and camaraderie. . We loved the Imperial it’s many corners, comfy chairs and it’s great verandah from which to view Broken Hill. We loved being able to use the pool, imagine the garden with chickens and herbs growing. We loved Liz the housekeeper who sorted out an extra night for us. We loved being able make real coffee and boil an egg in the morning. We were close to everything and the charm of Broken Hill are its cottages and alley ways, a photographers dream.
A piece of history a bit of luxury
Family of three. We loved this accommodation. Close to the shops. Lovely, clean and quiet. Great "make it yourself breakfast" everything you need in a well fitted out kitchen. Good shower comfy bed. We loved the billiard table, pool and huge veranda. We will return! Great experience.
Historic hotel close to main street
2 day stop in Broken Hill on holidays. Booking was very easy, we were shown all facilities on arrival. Very nice outdooor areas, including the garden and the balcony. Separate lounge, dining and billiards room so plenty of room to spread out.
A nice elegant change
Nice change from the usual country motels. Lovely room but a distinct lack of services as this is a small, mostly unmanned operation. But everything you need was available and it is in walking distance to restaurants, pubs etc.
Historical pub now a Bed and Breakfast
The Imperial is a few streets from the main street of Argent Street so it's quieter. We enjoyed the breakfast and kitchen facilities. I think it's the best choice for accommodation in the Silver City.
Road trip to Broken Hill
We really enjoyed our stay at The Imperial. The accommodation was very spacious and breakfast on the balcony was a highlight
Lovely old hotel away from the main street
Spacious rooms with a kitchen area that you use to make your own breakfast. Has a real home away from home feel. There is also a lovely wide verandah that you can use to have your breakfast or have an afternoon drink. We didn't use the pool but thus was also a nice area. Great place to stay.
There is Nothing Like a Dame
The Imperial Guesthouse was built when Broken Hill and District was a booming mining area. In it's early life it was a licenced hotel which had it's licence sold off to allow some new pub to sell liquor. What remains is an old dame which has seen better days but still standing proud and a reminder of her youth. Back when miner's money flowed through her tills to quench their thirsts. Her wide verandas designed to keep the desert heat at bay though, in these days ably assisted by air conditioners. The Imperial is a great old hotel and her furnishings reflect the by gone days when she was in her prime. A great guest house and a great opportunity to experience life in the early 1900s but in modern day comfort. Breakfast is cook your own which adds to the experience and I am sure her walls have some stories to tell.
Classic old building.
A comfortable stay in a classic old hotel with modern conveniences, generous staff, and good location
Great spot
Fantastic place to stay, wanted to stay another night.
Outstandingly in every way
I can't speak highly enough of the Imperial Hotel. our room was beautiful ... wonderful old furniture, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. There is a great air con and everything one needs. Food is there to make bacon and eggs at no extra cost as well as bread etc. we loved having breakfast outside on the balcony. There is a billiard room and a parlour with port to enjoy. The Hotel is up for sale, so either buy it or hurry on up to Broken Hill to enjoy it while you can.
Beautifully renovated edwardian style hotel.
Lovely stay with really helpful staff who gave tips about the best places to visit and popular restaurants in Broken Hill. We followed up their tips and found them really reliable. This hotel has a huge verandah with comfortable outdoor furniture where you can have breakfast and evening drinks.
Great hotel full of old world charm
Great hotel full of character, close to everything and staff are friendly and accommodating.
a gem
the Imperial is a gem. we just loved spending a night here, it really made our stay in Broken Hill a fabulous experience
Gorgeous hotel with old style appeal and a lovely verandah to have a quiet wine in the evening sun
Old world charm with modern convenience.
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the experience of the old hotel style. The modern conveniences in the bathroom were clean and welcoming. The fully stocked communal kitchen was a place to meet fellow travellers. The balcony was a nice place to cool off with a drink and watch the street life pass by. If you don't like to hear the floor boards creak as the building talks to you, then you may not appreciate the charm.
Overpriced for the amenity it offered
Not great value for money. Didn't like the shared kitchen for breakfast. Not good if you're last & have to wash dirty dishes before using them. Food portions were insufficient for number of guests staying. Seemed unnecessarily mean!
Kitchen set up
The kitchen set up is a little squashed when several people staying. Also, we ran out of bread on the two mornings we were there. Kitchen utensils are rather old!
Old world Hotel
Great location able to walk to most things in town.
IMPERIAL COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
A return visit to Broken Hill having lived and worked on the mines nearly 50 years ago.The IMPERIAL is truly "fine accommodation". The room was spacious, well furnished, quiet with very high ceilings and with air conditioning that handled the winter cold comfortably. The "guest kitchen" has fresh supplies of breakfast foods and was found to be very convenient in the mornings. I was made very welcome by staff and I highly recommend the IMPERIAL.
