Elevator was not working properly, room was too hot, opened window but very noisy. Duvet had large blood stain and trash under the bed.

Expected more cleanness, especially during covid19

The room was dusty and did not seem to be cleaned well. Curtains were old and got holes everywhere. Breakfast tables were not cleaned after people used them and it was difficult to find a clean table.

Solid hotel

The hotel is nothing special but fine for a quick stay in Metz. The location is excellent, right by the train station. They seemed to be taking very good steps with regards to Covid-19, as they instructed us to leave windows open when leaving the room.

Security + hygiene

Street to hotel entrance passage is miserable + very unpleasant. Urgent renovation needed for the elevator, dirty carpets in and outside rooms !

Good little cheap Ibis. (1nt stay)

It is a cheap Ibis, so as long as you remember that you will be ok. Small clean room a short stroll from town with parking underground a couple of minutes away at a reduced rate.

Great value friendly staff

Opposite the station and minutes away from the Pompidou centre this place is great value. Welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who was very helpful re parking in safe underground car park at the Gare (discounted if you stay at the hotel). A 15 min walk to the cathedral through lively town centre.

Bridgette at the front desk was awesome, spoke excellent English, and called taxis all overtown as our french proved to be inadequate

Metz Getaway

Everything was as expected. Right next to train station and only 5 min walk to city center. Check in was smooth. Price was very reasonable.

Overall this a strictly utilitarian hotel, located directly across the street from the train station and within easy walking distance to both the old town center and the Centre Pompidou Metz. What the hotel lacked was any real standard of cleanliness or comfort. The tiny rheumatic elevator made a bad first impression, obviously worn out and presenting a smeared filthy mirror. As I was in the room opposite the elevator I heard the wheezing mechanics of each ascension into the night. The room was bare wood floor, most of the channels on the tv did not receive properly and the paper thin walls made it obvious I was not the only person staying in the hotel. Some sort of shampoo was provided in the shower but nothing else. The mold creeping up the tile grouting from the shower stall baseboard was enough to let me ignore the lack of soap and skip the shower. Though I did enjoy seeing the Pompidou center from my window, I wondered if the other ibis just one block removed from the station might have been a bit warmer and more comfortable. Judging by the other guests at breakfast most were here like me just passing through and not expecting much. That's what we got.

Fine for a night

The hotel was fine, overlooking the station. It's an Ibis so does what it says on the tin! Only comment would be is that it was too hot in the room and with our room facing the station was too noisy to leave the window open.

Good location in beautiful city. Awful staff

The hotel was clean and comfortable and well located next to the station and within short walking distance of the main sights. I found the staff lacked adequate customer skills. They had next to no knowledge of the local area or transport services or none they were able to share (if I lived in a modest size of Metz I think I'd know the public transport system like the back of my hand within a month and the main goings on). I was also irked by the lack of customer care. Repeatedly over the course of my stay my keycards were cancelled and I needed to go down stairs to get them reset. The first time ok a mistake, the second time inconvenient, the third time major irritation, especially after having to walk up and down and back up six flights of stairs as the lift alternative was a tiny boxlike contraption that took all day to call and I didnt much fancy getting stuck in on a 30 degree day. When I pointed out that this was a problem that needed to be looked into I just got a shrug and glare. Some could perceive this as French nonchalance. I perceived it for what it was substandard conceited arrogance that has no place in a customer service role in a large hotel chain. Boot your staff up the backside or give them their marching orders. They let you down.

Decent by train station, parking nightmare

There are two Ibis hotels near train station. Arriving by car and trying to find parking was a nightmare of loops around blocks, nowhere to stop, hard to find entrance, turned away from the hotel parking because of narrow entrance. Only small cars! Advanced notification and instru tions would have helped!

Stayed here as a stopover between disneyland patis and nurburgring germany the member of staff on duty when I arrived at 3:30am was very helpful and spoke surprisingly good english for being a less touristy area although parking is difficult nearby as I drove around at first and some of the underground car parks have ridiculously tight spaces after struggling for half an hour I eventually pulled over and asked the member of staff on duty where was best he directed me to a more modern car patk with slightly wider spaces and 24hr security. The hotel and area as a whole was very nice and great customer service

IT WAS A VERY SHORT VISIT SO NO BREAKFAST WAS TAKEN. WiFi is free and OK. THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT FOR THE TRAIN STATION. This hotel is better that other hotels close to the station that I have stayed at (3/4 others), as I regularly visit Metz

Great stay. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and well replenished. Located next to the main train station with all the bus stops. Plenty of cafe's and restaurant nearby.

Miserable night in Metz that's still costing me.

We had an early morning train from Metz to Paris to catch, so instead of driving from our home in Germany, we decided to stay at this hotel next to the station for convenience. Quite possibly one of the worst ideas ever. The original primary problem was the fact that none of my family or I slept at all that night. There is a bar down the street that kept people yelling and drunk at all hours outside of our room. The walls and window frames were paper-thin and every conversation and car driving by kept us up. We left thinking "man, that was a awful stay, I"ll never have anything to do with that hotel again." But, as we arrived home today and checked our accounts after the trip....you guessed it, they robbed us. We paid for the room up front at the booking, and when we got there we incurred no incidentals or damages. We paid our city tax (less than 2 Euro) in cash. But we were charged to our card again upon our checkout. When I called the hotel today in hopes of resolving this without including hotels.com or the bank, the receptionist spoke English fine..until I wanted the charge fixed at which point he only spoke French and refused to help until he hung up on me. PLEASE avoid this hotel at all costs.

Good location but poor service

The hotel is well-situated, close to the main train station and within easy walking distance of historical landmarks. The rooms were uncomfortably small but clean. The service was very poor, however. There was not enough staff in the morning, and it took a long time to check out. The morning staff was courteous but the evening staff person on duty when I checked in around 8 PM was not only unhelpful but downright rude: he wouldn't give directions; he wouldn't provide information about near-by restaurants; he balked at giving me a map; he became frustrated with me when I didn't understand the extra charges on my bill. I usually like staying at Ibis hotels, but I won;t stay at this one again.

Real value for money, (although we got a lower price due to summer) It's clean, comfy bends and positioned right between the centre and train station. It's not a luxury hotel, but all that extra money can instead be spent on deserts and Champange

Beware of extensive roadworks

I stay at Ibis a lot because while basic they are clean, comfortable and good value for money. Also they welcome my dog. Ibis Metz was pretty standard and I have no complaint with the hotel. But they forgot to mention the whole of central Metz is a gigantic building site. It is not possible to drive to the hotel and barely possible to walk. Nearest parking is 400 metres away, also in the middle of extensive roadworks. Access involves climbing around barricades and walking along a narrow curbstone avoiding deep puddles and piles of wet mud and sand. All this while juggling luggage and in my case a dog. My dog liked it - I did not. When the work is finished I am sure the area will be much improved. Until then, unless you like a challenge, stay somewhere else.

Habituée à séjourner dans les hôtels IBIS, quelle désolation celui de Metz ! Bruyant, inconfortable, sale...Cependant le personnel à l'accueil est professionnel ! Quand je pense que c'est un 3 étoiles ! ça fait peur ! Première fois dans cet hôtel, mais la dernière aussi !

Nous avons réservé une chambre avec lit double et baignoire. Nous avons eu 2 matelas simples couverts par un drap double. Vraiment pas confortable lorsqu'on dort à deux. Nous avions voyagé avant, nous aurions voulu profiter de la baignoire pour nous détendre mais impossible puisque nous avions une douche. L'ascenseur peut contenir 2 personnes + 1 valise mais impossible de bouger. La climatisation était enclenchée à notre arrivée. Difficile de réchauffer la chambre. Points positifs : personnel agréable à disposition, Hotel propre, facile d'accès

Bon séjour ; vraiment dommage d'avoir été contraint de manger le petit-déjeuner dans sa chambre. Amélioration : on pourrait couper les radiations Wifi entre 0h00 et 6h00 pour pouvoir bien dormir ? Un feu rouge avec des camions livreurs à 5h30, c'est dommage.

Très bien au niveau service et propreté. Juste un peu bruyant au niveau des voitures de passage le samedi soir.

Idéalement situé près de la gare mais nécessitant une petite rénovation. Accueil et services impeccables.

Accueil et personnel très avenant. Par contre, la chambre où nous étions était sale. Il suffisait de tapoter n'importe quel élément dans la chambre pour soulever un nuage de poussière. Peu de serviettes fournies dans la salle de bain (2 grandes et une petite) et quelques traces de moisissures. Dommage car l'hôtel est bien placé.

J'ai loué par hotel.com, j'ai payé 19 euros en plus pour le déjeuner. Arrivée à l'hôtel, j'apprends que le déjeuner est inclus dans le prix de la chambre..... déjeuner par ailleurs très bien, beaucoup de choix. La chambre: petite mais très convenable,très propre, une nuit seulement. Même s'il y avait bon achalandage, le bruit ne nous a pas dérangés. Le service est hors pair. Merci beaucoup aux employés.

Tout était parfait, le personnel est charmant, la chambre était lumineuse, confortable, surtout les oreillers ce qui est rare.

Établissement décevant et en dessous des standards attendus pour un hôtel Ibis. Ascenseur vieillot, porte de chambre difficile à ouvrir, porte de la salle de bain qui ne ferme pas, TV très petite, chambre mal insonorisée (on entend le passage des voitures et il y en beaucoup étant donné que c'est la rue où se situe la dépose minute de la gare). Mais personnel agréable et serviable.
