Hotel of choice
Conveniently super close to the train station and bus stop. making it easy from and to the airport and to explore the city center with the bus.
The coffee for breakfast was undrinkable and room keys kept demagnetizing. I needed to have mine reprogrammed every day. These were really the only 2 issues with the hotel. Everything else was perfect!
Hotel staff were really friendly, rooms were quite basic but very clean. Perfectly located to Lyon Part-Dieu station for an overnight stay.
Very good service, friendly staff, good value
My daughter and I arrived late but were able to organize a dinner order at the hotel restaurant over the phone with the staff, even though we were due to arrive just before closing time. We really appreciated it. Both the evening and morning staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very serviceable, bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, bathroom was clean. You can see that the hotel has been renovated but maybe some of it was done in a bit of a hurry and would benefit from a little more upkeep. The lobby has different spaces to relax or enjoy a drink. My daughter loved staying there, and I was thankful to have such a good experience in what was for us an unexpected situation (missed train). Oh, and the breakfast buffet is quite complete (bread, cereal, pastries, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cheese, etc.). Overall, it's a very good value for the money. Would recommend.
Not safe, and didnt speak english
Amazing, near the Gare and the Rhône.
Very small room. Just enough room for beds and suitcases. Air conditioning barely worked and had to flush toilets a couple of times to clear. Location is excellent, just three blocks from train station. Very clean and great staff. Reasonable price for France.
Love
Excelle t
Very clean, air conditioned. Had booked one room but they graciously changed to two without any hassle. Would stay here again.
The hotel room was dirty . Saw hair . At one of the guest’s dog pooped .
Friendly staff, clean rooms, expansive breakfast. Close to the train station and shops
POOR DIETARY INTOLERANCE SERVICE We stayed with Ibis Lyon Gare de Part Dieu from 20/6/24 - 23/6/24. The stay itself within the hotel and the location we couldn’t fault. However, I have made a complaint regarding the inclusive breakfast. 2 out of the 3 mornings there was no gluten free food available for myself. I had to ask staff both in the restaurant and on reception several times for my dietary requirement both days. Saturday morning I was only given a small bag of muesli. Sunday morning I was severely disappointed to only receive one piece of incredibly small bread and be told that this was all they could offer as none of the kitchen staff were at work yet. I was gobsmacked by this information considering breakfast service is from 6:30am and this occurred at 7:10am. I do not find it acceptable considering my condition is not a dietary preference but an intolerance and not to mention the fact I am currently 6 months pregnant. From this, I was left but no choice to make my way to the airport to make our flight home in which to yet another disappointment, they did not also cater for gluten intolerance. Therefore I did not have anything to eat from 6am this morning until landing in the UK later this afternoon which as stated, is totally unacceptable when 6 months pregnant resulting in having to spend extra money.
Good for travelers!
Had a good 1-night stay! It was conveniently located to Gare Part-Dieu and the staff were very nice. The bathroom was clean but definitely needed updating (rust stains, damp smell etc). Bed was super comfortable! The lobby seemed like a good place to hang out - I liked that they had a water bottle refill station and a secure area to store bags.
Great hotel for your stay in Lyons
Very helpful front desk, breakfast and service staff. Hotel stay coupled with location was super.
Xx
Great place !
Our room was small and the amenities in it limited, but we had a delightful stay. The reason: the front desk staff. Always cheerful, always helpful, they somehow create a warm, clubby atmosphere. With a little bit of self-service, everything you want is avaialble. The train station, trams, and buses are a short walk away, as is a mall with dozens of dining options that are open unitl late. A few restaurants and a laundromat are right across the road. A very pleasant and convenient way to stay in Lyon.
freindly staff
Good location with excellent laundry close by
Lyon
Overpriced for a very basic hotel but good enough if only looking for a bed for the night.
Room was small but adequate. Reception was very friendly. Breakfast was surprisingly really really good
Great stay, convenient restaurant
Near the train station
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful!
Great staff.
Staff were excellent, location was perfect for our needs and facilities were adequate.
good location near the train station of Lyon so its easy
The room setup is amazing for a long stay
Prestation standard
Excellent front of house staff. Good beer. Relaxing social area
Not recommended
It is very very hot in the rooms When you talk about it, nothing is done. Impossible to sleep Good restaurant Nice employees
Running water is a luxury
Dealing with SNCF and then coming to stay at this hotel was a disaster. We thought staying here would be convenient as we had a early train in the morning and we wanted to stay close to the station. Our room didn’t have hot water so they changed our room...that said room did not have running water at all so they changed us to another room....luckily, third time is a charm and we had hot water but the room was smaller...the bed was smaller...so if you like running water, I wouldn’t stay here
Proximity to train station. Room was somewhat confining.
Easy access from train station. Air conditioning was great after several other locations without during our trip! No frills but friendly, clean and comfortable!
Wonderful Lyon
We enjoyed our stay which was enhanced by the frontline staff. Warm and friendly and so very helpful.
Overall ok. Its ideal for families, however some staff were not very fluent in english, so had some difficulty getting answers but they tried their best. Daytime staff were much more knowledgeable and gave better recommendations which was appreciated. Their restaurant was pretty good. Breakfast was good too but only thing, would have preferred if I didn't have to wait on cooking my eggs. Croissants were amazing, right size and so soft, Reasonably priced rooms so what was offered was worth it.
Modern hotel, room was a bit small because built-in cot was opened up, close to main railway station.
Great location for train station. Check in was excellent. After a night out 1 person handling bar service at 11:30, my wife and I wanted night cap got completely ignored for 20 min so gave up and went to bed.
The staff were cold and seemed disinterested. The girl at the front desk was not able to get the gate for the parkade open for us. Three visits to her and she finally opened it for us. The code for the gate was never given to us until the last day. The cleaning lady walked in without knocking twice.
Upon arrival at 1:00 in the morning after a long European travel day from Switzerland - we show up to find that our reservation had been lost! No where to stay. In the end, he told us we were lucky to have a room available that did not fit our needs as we are a family of 6 trying to fit into a room for a family of 4! We had paid in full for our room previously and was very irritated when we showed up to no reservation and a room not big enough for us and no help at the front counter. We are now trying to receive some money back
It is conveniently located while it would be better it there were more English TV channels.
Walkable from train. Area has a lot of construction, but you can still get around. Trains make it easy to get into old Lyon. Restaurant is nice to have in the building!!
It was everything we expected. Helpful staff, clean comfortable room, air conditioning. Didnt have a chance to try their breakfast though. But the restaurant was very good for lunch.
Decent night sleep
Pretty good stay for the price and location -- just next to the train station. The bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Shower/bath was nice. As an aside, it seemed to be an older room that had been remodelled or maintained. Overall, not the best, but definitely a good buy for the cost.
Suited me well
Good low-cost hotel. Close to railway station. Quiet room, good restaurant for an Ibis. Friendly service. Suited me well.
Outdated decor, rooms very small, cheap feeling. The location is convenient for the train station
Change For The Better
We were expecting some concerns due to previous reviews but we found the wrong ibis hotel. They changed our booking easily and we were pleasantly surprised. Don't miss Les Halles across the Street. A real treat.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I lost my door card when I was out and it was replaced with a smile. The breakfast at €10.50 was too expensive when you can’t get fried eggs and bacon with it. The express breakfast at €5.50 was sufficient and prepared by the very friendly receptionist.
Friendly and helpful staff. Quick check in. Clean rooms.
Very friendly staff. Restaurant attached also has lovely staff and excellent food.
Poor
Good central location but no ac
Nice and efficient staff. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Hotel was great but did not like Lyon, bad experience with hop on hop of bus would never go back!
Difficult to access the hotel due to construction. Wifi was not is service which was quite disappointing. Early check in was great. A very small room. Adequate, but nothing more.
Older facility but I think they kept it clean. The streets around this facility was under construction so it was kind of roll around my luggage to and from this location. Other than that the hotel staff were very nice.
Close to the train station. Room was very tight. The game in the lobby was a lot of fun. Haven’t played pac man in years ...and it was free!
Room was tiny and pillows inadequate. No bar soap in bath.
Lots of hidden hotel fees, which absolutely chsngrd an otherwise benign experience to a bad impression.
Just what I needed, close to railway station. No coffee in apartment which was disappointing.
Area not great.
Friendly staff and very good food in the restaurant
1 night on a Sunday
Says this the hotel attached to the train station but there is actually one other even closer that is really close to the train station. For one night this is fine. Room a bit small for a couple
station hotel
close to hotel, standard ibis, clena and basic but absolutley fine
Short walk to the station- ideal for a short stay
It was a welcome, warm and nice place with ideal location- walking distance to the train station.
Lovely friendly staff but noisy room!
Generally hotels have carpet not just for comfort but also to lessen noise. This hotel had laminate flooring in the bedroom which meant that we were woken up by guests moving around upstairs in the room above and jumped whenever they dropped something on the floor. It may seem more hygienic but it is very noisy.
Overnight stay in Lyon
Used as an overnight stay, however there were major road works around the hotel which prevented getting to it. As we had booked they could have e-mailed us to let us know how to access the hotel. However it was only 12 euros for secure parking which was a great relief. Fine for an overnight stop but not ideally placed for a visit to Lyon.
Nice stay
Nice hotel, really friendly staff, rooms slightly small but comfortable. Very close to main station. Superb WiFi.
Nice hotel close to railway station
This hotel was very useful for our recent stay in Lyon as it was close to the railway station so for us the location was perfect. The room and en-suite were small but adequate and clean and the bed linen and towels were very good, clean and in good condition. Breakfasts were excellent though at price. The restaurant menu could be improved with a greater choice for vegetarians.
Convenient for transportation
Budget friendly hotel. Breakfast is good. Near the railway station. The only disadvantage is the parking area limited 1m85 high so with a minibus it was not high enough. Fortunately it was not so difficult to find a parking spot near the hotel.
Below average
Very old and tired property not worth it at any price
Nice
Nice room, friendly staff. Smelled a bit like smoke.
Recommended hotel
Overall happy.
Good location for train users ...
The hotel looked a bit dated, but kept good quality inside. The room was not really new, but quite comfortable. Its underground parking unfortunately does not have any elevator access. So, it was quite a burden for a car user like me. On the other hand, this hotel's proximity to the city's main railway station would be very good for train users. (The area itself was not really as nice as the city's historic district, though.)
good value
welcoming staff; small room; parking.
Near to the train station. There should be a lot of eating places but they are mostly closed during my stay. However, there's a mall near the station and hotel as well.
Handy for the trains to Italy.
It is not in the more salubrious part of Lyon, I made the mistake of straying outside for a walk (the area smells). The hotel is where it is for a reason and that reason is its proximity to Gare Lyon Part Dieu. I only stayed one night. The staff were great. They printed off a ticket that I realised I hadnt printed off correctly and this was half an hour before the train left to Turin
good journey at the ibis lyon
comfortable bed, good breakfast, quiet. Friendly and efficient people at the frontdesk.
Couldn't press clothes while on a biz trip!
They don't have enough iron boxes (for pressing clothes). Had a tough time requesting the front desk staff for lending me one for 30 mins...in vain. All they told me is that another guest had borrowed it and I will have to wait until they return it...they wouldn't call the other guest to remind them to return.
