The staff courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness far exceeds my expectation. The property was aesthetically beautiful and clean. The food was good and had adequate variety.

Loved the snorkeling right off the beach. The food was good. The room had excellent climate control. Probably the best we have had anywhere. The only thing we didn't like was the drug dealers on the beach., or how other guests brought them food and drinks. They stand there and holler into the guest area and there are families and young children. This isn't cool.

This was our first experience at an all inclusive resort so we had to get to get use to the fact that we didnt need to pay extra for food and beverages...EVER! We just laid by the pool and the beach most days there and a shout out to Khalil at the front desk for accomodating our stay by moving hotel rooms due to the noise factor on the first floor. My partner and I didnt like get hustled by the conceirge team to sale us the idea to pay them more money to extend our stay and or upsale our stay at the higher end suite next door! They were mean to us when we stated we didnt want to waste our time with a tour and upsale opportunity for 90 minutes(!) And that we were going to head to the beach to get back to our vacation. We made friends later with other tourists and we all complained about conceirge doing that to ALL OF US! Big turnoff. Dissest those sale practices with the conceirge a.s.a.p. or you will loose potential customers. Other than that, a great trip and we are considering coming back to Jamaica...just not sure at the same hotel.

AC didn’t work in room . Smelt like mold in the room. Music was SO loud until 1130 PM every night. Felt like a concert was in my room. Food was okay meats all overcooked and looked rotated each night. Run down property. Rock hard pillows and annoying old fan.

Undergoing some room renovations so workers at it from 9 to 5 but the results worth it (ours was a recent update). Food was good but don’t expect five-star. Great location for our four day father son golf trip. Glad we rented a car (Budget) made getting to and from Golf courses easy but be prepared for aggressive driving on the A1.

Love the Pool area at the Rose Hall Beach. Morning Yoga class on the beach needs to be moved to a better place. Suggest moving it to one of many beautiful decks overlooking the sea.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Iberostar Waves Resort. I feel like I need to break it down to different sections. Food - we all thought the food was really good. Our chef at the hibachi - Paris - was great and made the experience so fun. We did not have a bad meal while we there. The beach was OK. It had lots of seaweed and was dirty. Lots are garbage. One in five beach chairs were broke, but there were plenty of them. The hotel room was nice. Nothing that made you go "wow" when you walked in, but I can't say anything bad about it. The staff was really great. Very friendly and helpful. The entertainment in the evening was really good. A big variety. Highly recommend going to the Rocktails show. The pool area was nice but the water was so cold. They had lots of activities around the pool all day. Overall, it wasn't the nicest resort we've stayed at but there were more good things than bad things!

Staff made the whole experience! So kind and welcoming. Facilities were great, casino was disappointing, but entertainment and everything else was fabulous. Food was excellent and buffet was good every morning/lunch. Beach was very disappointing. I feel like the photos made it look better than it actually was. Super small beach front that was too crowded every day. Pool was nice.

Beautiful property My room smelled like smoke and mildew. They need to upgrade their rooms decor. I realy didn't like they no longer have room service. That's really not good

They prioritized quantity over quality on food.. the buffet food really isn’t all that. Took them like two days to clean trash that was in the bathrooms and the elevators. Overall though for the price we paid I do think we got our moneys worth.

Most of the staff was rude, except the front desk and girl working the sports bar making us feel very unwelcome. No activities going on. Vendors in the beach made us not want to go to the beach because there’s no way to relax when you are being harassed constantly. Construction going on all hours.. Will never return

Nice grounds, pool and decor around property. Beach was disappointing. Limited restaurant options and bland food. Childrens’ and other activities mostly next door at other hotel, not Waves Beach. Also gave us pitch to buy timeshare which was very annoying.

Everything felt outdated and the food was average. Nothing spectacular but we made it a great family vacation. The most irritating thing was not being able to enjoy the beach in peace… there were too many vendors on the beach constantly trying to sell something. Apparently, Iberostar Selection (Suites) is a better experience.

I stayed here with my family for 4 nights and we all really enjoyed our stay. I’ve been to many resorts in Jamaica and this one stands out! The Christmas decorations were so festive. The staff were great, all so nice and welcoming. As for the food options, they had everything that your eyes and heart can desire. The entertainment team, especially for Michael Jackson night and poolside was fantastic! The pool and beach were awesome, always available seating and close to food/bars which was a plus. We are planning on doing a huge family trip here next year as this resort has it all-ice cream bar, hibachi, jerk hut, ton of food/bars-perfect for all ages!

It's an Iberostar and having stayed at a few of these elsewhere we had expectations. Construction neighboring our room went on for 3 of the 5 days we stayed. Constant drilling complemented the loud music at the pool. Aqua aerobics and gym classes were great! Zeus is an awesome trainer. Do not waste time with Concierge. They didn't pay attention to us upon arrival and we had to figure out on our own that the best is to download the Iberostar App. With the exception of the Michael Jackson show evening entertainment was lackluster. It was mostly very loud thumping music, which judging by the lack of vacationer participation didn't appeal to anyone. DJ should use the playlist of the Lobby Bar. Should also learn not to change the song halfway when people had just stepped into the dance floor. The fresh food was good. One could figure out not to take salads that looked assembled form leftovers. Major complaint - unlabeled sliced Scotch Bonnet peppers that my teen swallowed thinking it was a regular bell pepper. Google it! It burned her entire GI tract and she spent the night and the next day vomiting. Medical help costs extra. Carry electrolyte and Imodium! Finally, the first night we realized the bathroom sink was clogged and had to brush teeth under the shower. Technician turned up around noon the next day. The one thing that made the trip worthwhile was the proximity of Dressel Divers who gave my teen an unforgettable experience of seeing marine life up close and personal.

It was worth what was paid for and the staff were amazing! Foods could improve significantly but we enjoyed our stay very much.

The food not too great. I just wish Jamaican people who know how to cook to make the food. It was not Jamaican food at all. Please hire a Jamaican chef to cook the food. That is not Jamaican food at all. Therefore I have to go to another hotel just to get the best Jamaican food. Please don’t pay for the full service $1200 I think because it’s not everyone gets the full service and they will not give you your money back.

Great Resort. I stayed at the Adults only in October 2024 and Family Resort Waves in November 2024. Both sides had an amazing staff. The grounds were clean. They have a dive shop on site which is run by Dressel Divers and is excellent. I would recommend this property and would go back!

We are returning guests to this property. There is major renovation work underway. If you are travelling here I suggest ensuring your room is on the side of the property not under construction. Especially if you have children that require a daily nap. It is demolition work and is extremely loud during the day(jackhammers) Anyone with respiratory issues may also be affected by the over bearing smell of the fibreglass epoxy. For returning guests the level of service and quality in staff and food and beverages has decreased significantly. Never wrote a review for anything before, good or bad. We would have consistently given this resort 8/10 based on 10 return visits. We do not expect perfection by any means, nor would a few disappointing issues impact our overall experience. In saying that we would not recommend this property, clearly there are staff issues, the service staff was on strike our last day, other than a few stand out staff members the level of service was lacking in all areas. Very disappointing as we have always enjoyed our stays here and recommended this property many times.

The staff at the bar was awesome But we paid for a upgrade room for 420.00 and they never said there was construction going on. I wouldn't of paid for the noise

The staff were very nice and attentive, breakfast & Japanese Restaurant were good, but other food was just average. Bar facilities were great. Facilities were a little outdated but clean. The BAT family (about 10-15) right above our room entrance freaked me out and resorted in a room change, I was never the same after that and it put a damper on the next 2 nights. I would never go to this resort again.

Staff were friendly and responsive. Bath in the room needs upgrading.

The food was good different varieties of breakfast lunch and dinner. Amazing restaurants in the hotel staff polite attentive,pool was amazing. Beach was amazing. I saw a lot of bad reviews, but I went on my instinct and had to see for myself and of course never go by bad reviews. You have to go in person and have your own review of things which was all great for my six days.

The atmosphere was friendly and gave a homelike feeling. Dining room staff could be more friendly although not bad.

There was works going on- side of the hotel where we were. I rang for room service and was told this was not available for my booking. This was very annoying as I was not told that I was not allowed room service.

Everything nice

When I got there it wasn't the room that I paid for. Also the welcome committee. The guy was out 2 days so I didn't receive my welcome packet. I didn't get my reservations to a restaurant and then when I did try to get it the restaurant wasn't open. The night before I left they kept giving me the runaround saying they was going to call to get reservations at a Japanese restaurant. They was going to call to change my room. They never did and the room could have been a little cleaner trash in the corners in the bathroom. This bathroom sink wasn't clean and they act like it was a problem to get bath towels and washcloths. I didn't want them to clean my room. I just wanted towels

Filtered water available for those who prefer that over using plastics. The rooms were spacious and clean.

The all-inclusive resort offered a decent stay with exceptionally friendly staff. While the rooms could use some updating, the housekeeping team did a great job keeping them clean. The property featured a great buffet along with convenient beachside food and drink options. What stood out most was how the staff worked multiple roles, allowing guests to interact with the same people throughout their stay, creating a more personal experience. One thing to note is that you’ll need plenty of single bills for tipping, as it felt like tipping opportunities came up frequently, sometimes making you feel obligated. However, the staff was so kind and helpful that it was hard not to show appreciation. We visited during the rainy season in October, and while it did rain, it usually cleared up, allowing us to still enjoy the resort. The excursion desk was convenient, and the resort offered some decent shows along with a daily activity schedule that kept us in the loop. Overall, it's a nice resort, but next time we would prefer to stay at the Rose Hall Grand, an adults-only option, as we suspect the rooms there might be aesthetically nicer. Still, it was a decent stay!

This property is currently being renovated and should let travelers know this prior to booking. I payed for a jr. Suite ocean view. The added sewer smell from the front area of my room must have been a bonus. Customer service could be better as well. When I went to report the unbearable scent, the front desk attendant said to speak to guest services a few doors down. No one was there when i went. Calling ahead would have saved me the trip and embarrasment. Thanks iberostar!

Don’t waste your money! This resort is awful. The food is nasty, the pool is small, there is no 24hr snack service and they have roaches. If you want to have a good time while in Jamaica stay at any RIU Hotels.

The food could’ve been better but I enjoyed my stay !

Check in was cool. We spoke to concierge but we never saw him again after check in. The area of cleaniness around the resort was fine. The rooms were outdated, dingy meaning needed a deep cleaning and it smelled. The food was ok, the beach jerk and burgers were a hit. Breakfast was very limited. The entertainment was minimal and not entertaining. Some of the staff was the friendly the rest had very nasty attitudes and not friendly. The person that cleaned our room STOLE our money out of our personal belongings. Rumbled through our things and the staff had us fill out papers only to say they couldn't prove it. I was at a different resort last year and I never had those worries. I feel the resort is very unsafe and the staff needs training on how to be professional. The safe in our room didn't work. Other people on the same resort had their things looked through when they were out of the room as well. I would NEVER visit again or recommend that resort to anyone not even a stray dog. RUINED MY WHOLE TRIP!

Property is very nice, beautiful beach, very clean water and close to the hotel there is a coral reef for snorkeling. But the hotel is old and the rooms are also old and you can feel the damp in the rooms, the air conditioning is ok, the food is good but not great

There’s are holes and defects everywhere. The place needs clear restoration and attention. Elevators make a loud banging sound when closing n sounds unsafe. Holes in the room sofa, chair on the balcony by and just down right clear neglect.

I traveled with my family and we had an amazing time! The staff is friendly, welcoming and the service is great. They have great entertainment for everyone and the resort is family friendly. The rooms can use a little upgrade but overall we had a wonderful time.

Me and my family of 4 stayed at Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach from August 1-6, 2024 and we enjoyed our stay. There were 4 main restaurants (Italian, Japanese hibachi, smokehouse, and main buffet). We tried all 4 and the Japanese one was the best. You need to make reservations for this restaurant and I would do it sooner rather than later. We flew in on Thursday evening and waited until Friday morning to try to make reservations for any of the nights we would be there and couldn’t get in. Finally, we showed up on Sunday night and asked the restaurant directly and they alllowed us to eat without reservations. We were able to eat on a Sunday night because they were going to be closed on Monday and then we were leaving on Tuesday. Please keep in mind that these restaurant do have a dress code… men cannot show up for dinner in tank tops and sleeveless shirts. The resort is “open.” Air condition is only in your room and dining/ common areas. Do not expect AC while from the lobby to your rooms. There is a night club that is located inside in one of the other hotels on the same property which is like a 2 min walk. The activity schedule were not truly transparent so we missed a lot of the events they had going on. The pool closed at 7 pm and just bring extra cash to TIP because everyone expects a TIP down to the very person making your omelet or fresh juice during breakfast.

Overall, the hotel provided what I needed for a mini vacay - change of scenary. The staff was also quite friendly & accommodating. Room for improvement - the Japanese restaurant was closed on two of the three nights during my stay and fully booked on the one night it was open so that was disappointing. Also, renovative works including use of jack hammers & saws made it challenging to get quality rest in my room & on the beach. The offerings seem to have improved over the years & I would return.
