The property is a very unique property which offers a nice stay with opportunities of incredible views in the tropical jungle of Belize. My wife and I experienced a one week trip to the property that we will never forget as it offered such a different experience. It's not just a property which offers adventurous/exciting excursions. If you enjoy being in nature, the place is a must! The bird watching and horticulture experience is exceptional. We were able to join the owners and staff for their 2024 Halloween costume contest which was cool to be a part of. Unfortunately, we couldn't do everything due to rain but the staff was very accommodating and helped us plan alternative activities on short notice. We are now planning to bring our two kids (21 & 24) to the property sometime in the future as Belize is a country you should visit at least once in your life.
We had an amazing time, treated properly was an amazing experience
Amazing place, the perfect balance between nature, privacy and comfort. We loved the place, the staff and the adventure tours available.
The staff was awesome! From chats prior to arrival (super responsive) to reception, check in, restaurant and check out. The treehouse accommodations were fantastic. Food was off the hook delicious. Botanical gardens and pools were mind blowing…soooo beautiful. Heard lots of monkeys. The owner was very involved, engaging and ensured every detail was perfect. Couldn’t recommend more highly-best in belize!!!
My kids and I enjoyed every thing about this property.
One of the most beautiful resorts I have stayed at. The canopy treehouse we were staying in had extraordinary view, and we enjoyed the beautiful outdoor shower. We were able to watch monkeys in the treetops, bids, butterflies were also frequently sighted. A great place for anyone who loves nature. The staff was exceptional! The food was also 10/10. Overall great experience.
So glad we found this gem! Beautiful gardens on the property and all of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and really seem to enjoy working there. The cave tubing was a bunch of fun and they made accommodations for our two small children. 10/10 would recommend and we hope to return.
Wonderful
Really wonderful place to stay. Very attentive staff and good food
Incredible spot with super friendly staff. You are in the jungle and it shows in every way. The sounds at night make the price of admission worth it alone. Being on a lazy river and having a cool pool is icing on the cake. Had one issue with our first room but they got it all squared away.
This was an amazing and reasonably priced one of a kind experience. Great staff. Great meals. Great stay!
We stayed in a jungle cabana surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. There was an air conditioner above our bed that kept us cool during the hot June nights. The grounds were wonderful and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pure jungle
Absolutely a wonderful place, as adventurous as it gets. The tree house was stunning. The staff super courteous. Highly recommended.
Ian Anderson’s Cave Branch Adventure was simply amazing. The setting in the jungle was truly beautiful almost to a spiritual level. It was completely refreshing staying there in nature. One of the best parts was all the staff including the adventure guides. Everyone was so nice, friendly, and hospitable. They made you feel like you belong there and were part of their family.
Super cool cabins in the rainforest on a river. Full of birds and nature. Lots of day hikes and river/cave tubing.
A fantastic stay. This is a very special place. Our cabana was completely private, including both an indoor and an outdoor shower. A short walk through the jungle brought us to the road and all of the other offerings including the pool and restaurant. They took care of all of the bookings for our adventures.
great experience
great place, friendly staff, great location. the bungalow was all screened in no windowhich made you feel like you were sleeping in the jungle.
Delightfully surprised with our stay! A fantastic property with amazing staff, great accommodations and delicious food. It rained for most of our stay, BUT, I wouldn't trade it for the world. It was a fantastic experience and we very much look forward to returning
First time staying at Ian Anderson’s Cave, it was pleasant to say the least. The staff were definitely the highlight due to how friendly & accommodating they were. Just be cautious which suite you’re staying in because it can be a lot of walking; stairs. Overall, excellent stay and everything was more than reasonably priced.
Unique place. We love it there. The landscaping is impeccable. The staff goes above and beyond. The swimming pool is so fun for the family, with two waterfalls and a hot pool. Hard to get so close to nature and at the same time be so comfortable anywhere else. The view from the cottages by the river is breathtaking, the room is cozy and the decoration is great.
Warm and friendly staff who were always ready to help. Lovely place, very clean , comfortable and relaxing.
A beautiful property with lush jungle foliage which was well taken care of. The pool and decks were relaxing, the bungalows were spacious and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The tours they arranged were close by and the guides were wonderful. A spectacular holiday spot.
From the moment we stepped on property we had the feeling that we had found a special place in the jungle. The facilities were great, the tours were fun, but what made the resort different from all the others was the staff. My kids laughed and joked with them the entire time. The dinner service was fantastic with a four course dinner and two dinner options available each not. We traveled to other areas in Belize after leaving Caves Branch. However, my daughter said we should have saved the best for last because all the other hotels pale in comparison to our stay at Cabes Branch. Thanks to Geovani, Thomas, Leo, Alexander, Junior and all the other staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it such a memorable stay.
We stayed for a week and enjoy every moment of it. From the spectacular views of the jungle to exploring the histories of the Mayan and explore the historical cave. This was the most spectacular, and unique experience I have done. The only down side I can say is lights! Lights being set upon the wall way towards your rooms it gets really dark. Rather than that the stay was beautiful and will definitely be back in the future.
Ideal surroundings for a nature trip. Easy to explore different areas of Belize
The property is stunning nestled in the jungle. The pool, restaurant and facilities are awesome. The food and drinks are top notch. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The treehouse rooms blew us all away, and we quite enjoyed the outdoor shower. We loved being woken up by the call of howler monkeys! By far, it was the best place we stayed at in Belize.
This hotel is really special. Sits in the heart of the jungle but has a 5 star feel. loved everything about it including our out door shower. sooo cool!
We had stayed in a variety of locations across Belize, and this was by far our favorite. Situated in beautiful natural jungle surroundings, the rooms were very private & amazing and you can hear the beautiful sounds of the jungle around you. The staff were fantastic and the tours are well organized and easy to book. There's no internet or tv in the room which is perfect for recharging too. We will definitely recommend it and try to come back!!
We were only at Cave’s Branch for 2 nights after 4 days out on the cayes. We really enjoyed the tree house bungalow with the amazing views. Best of all was falling asleep and waking to the sounds of all local wildlife. We had a really great 4 course dinner of but more food than we’re used to eating at one time. All the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The pool and surrounding flowering plants were incredible. We cave tubed 1/2 day which was interesting but water was low. Our only regret was not making it to the Mayan ruins. Next trip I guess!
Great experience with basic modern comforts but with the charm of a jungle experience. Highly recommend for romantic/adventure getaway.
It was an amazing trip and excellent resort! You have to go. I love the place, the view, very quit and the tours are very fun! We did the tubing, in the cave. Amazing tour, you can stay cool while its hot outside and you learn a lot. We went to the Zoo, Christain made it fun and took us to a restaurant with funny signs we were laughing all time. We also went to the Mayan Ruins, its tiring but fun, make sure you dress light and stay hydrated. Staff in the resort made our trip excellent. Very friendly staff. Tania, Angleita, Vector, Jose, Robert, Christian, Arnold and all of them nice and welcoming, and very professional! The room was just outstanding, be ready to make your workout for the week in one climb up 😆. The view was amazing. We were able to cleanse the stress of the whole year. One thing, be careful when dealing with Gio (one of the front desk team members) he will try to play smart, but he is sometimes confused about shuttle and tour prices, but he is nice and once you set the rules with him he would then help you!
The lodge is made for outdoor lovers. It was a beatiful property. Lots of birds, monkeys, and some other wiildlife spotted. Very freindly staff. Beds were comfortable. You will definitly need a flashlight because the paths are not well lit at night and it is dark after dinner. Also, the only thing I did not like was the group seating. For an introvert like myself, this style of dining was a bit of a an axiety overload. However, the food was good. Overall a good place to go.
We absolutely loved this place. Beautiful lodge, amazing adventures, friendly staff.
The website doesn’t do it justice. Beautiful property! Excellent staff! We went cave tubing with Telma and Estra - they were the best tour guides we’ve ever had! It was an amazing experience!
Liked the garden, didn't like communal dining.
Great option for jungle adventure travel.
It is a beautiful property.
Excellent in all respects
Everything was great
This was our first stay in the jungle. The facility was incredibly unique and beautiful. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The tours were fantastic and safe.
Very nice rooms, pool, gardens and venue. Food was average especially for the very high price. Staff not all well trained nor efficient. No printed information about menus, prices.
Wonderful beautiful Hotel and Staff
This hotel is beyond wonderful! Not only because you are completely surrounded by amazing nature but also the delicious food and it’s beautiful-cozy rooms. The staff is absolutely amazing, super kind, friendly and helpful and that really makes a difference on the experience of a stay. Thank you so much to all for making our stay such a wonderful one! We will definitely be back!
We had a great stay at this beautiful property.
Fantastic place. Set near the river in the jungle near some great adventuring spots. Food was great, pool was great, room was great. Will definitely come back again
Unique family oriented adventure place. Only AC was bad
What an amazing paradise! After traveling around Belize for a few days, my wife and I were referred to Ian Anderson's Caves Branch Adventures. We had 2 nights booked at another location before returning home and canceled one night to visit Ian Anderson's. To say it was beautiful is an understatement. We instantly felt slowed down after the long floral path leading to the resort with a welcome drink in hand. Literally hundreds of different colorful birds flying around with LOUD howler monkeys climbing in the trees alerting other vocal monkeys of their location. Before settling into our room we chose to cancel the other location and spend our final 2 days at the Caves. My wife and I counted dozens and dozens of different hummingbirds and colorful birds we’ve never seen as we relaxed in the pool. Mornings feel like awakening in heaven as the birds and animals sing a grateful song that echoes over the river and through the mountain side. Our adventure into Footprint Cave was absolutely unbelievable. Actually walking the same footsteps as ancient Mayans with geological proof frozen in stone over thousands of years was breathtaking and spiritual. Our guide Julio must have been chosen by the spirits because his passion is pure and natural. Gio and the rest of the staff were all very attentive, very informative and knowledgeable about their location and country in this simple peaceful relaxing adventurous place. Our family will absolutely be returning!
We had a great experience here. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly and the jungle grounds were medicine for the soul.
This was the most amazing place I have ever stayed at. The rooms, the staff and the property are perfect. The adventures they offer are once in a lifetime and led by the most incredibly skilled, friendly and talented guides.
Incredible! Staying at a place like this should be on any traveler's bucket list. Top class accomodations and spending time in the jungle is unforgettable. Awesome place all around.
Beautiful property! Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay
Unique and well built property with beautiful gardens. Lots of activity options with expert guides. We stayed in a bungalow surrounded by plants. Good local cuisine and friendly staff.
Tree house!
Upgraded us to a tree house!!
Beautiful, well maintained and a unique experience! Only negative was the bed mattress - it was not comfortable - was lumpy & sagged toward the center. Otherwise a resort worth visiting. The botanical gardens were magnificent & signage was great!
Life-time memory. Every amenity is beyond advertised except the gaze upon clear nights for a stunning view of the star-studded sky. Beautiful skies during the day but at night cloudy. The howler monkeys were fabulous and let you know it was going to rain for about 10-15 minutes. We have stars in New Mexico so I preferred the monkey ambiance the 4 days we were on-site.
The people where really nice, very cool environment.
An exceptional experience! Not only do they offer enough adventures to keep everyone happy, the staff members are fantastic! I'd recommend this resort for any person or family wanting to be taken care of during your stay! Loved our Caves Branch experience.
The Cave adventures are AWESOME! Ivan, the guide, is great!!
We really loved staying at Caves Branch! The guides were great and so was the food. A few of the tree houses are way up there (but not all) and ours required us to walk 10 flights of stairs to get there but they are amazing and it was a free upgrade for us so it was worth it. This is a magical place. If you like adventure you must try the waterfall trek. Best adventurous excursion I’ve ever been on. We will be back even though we don’t typically travel to any place twice.
We stayed in a luxury canopy view treehouse. It was absolutely spectacular and JUST LIKE THE PICS! Their dining options were limited, I suspect due to just recovering from Covid times so not offering banquet style multiple options. We wished for a better stocked bar and stronger drinks. Their excursions are quite active and a tad expensive. They are located in a central area if you want to rent a car and explore on your own. All staff was exceptional. It’s not a posh resort but an amazing jungle experience. Well equipped for children, if you so choose. We enjoyed the romance of being alone in the trees.
The property was beautiful HOWEVER the establishment itself if very DISHONEST! They tried to be slick and charge an extra 343 dollars and tell me it was added fees. The charge itself was called combined charges. I literally wrote down everything service I used daily because I read in another review about surprised charges so I kept everything in my notes. When I was checking out they gave me an itemized bill and when I questioned the charge they gave me everything lie in the book. Saying it was taxes and fees from the Belize government. Then it was resort fees. I called them days before I checked in and asked if they was additional resort fees because usually Expedia will let you know if there are and there were none when I booked but I still called to make sure and the lady Lisa said no that I paid everything through Expedia. So when I was checking out with Giovanni, who is another liar, I told him to call Lisa and Lisa lied and said she never told me that. This went on for about 20 minutes. Giovanni kept telling the accountants were checking it out but still tried to lie about 343 dollars being a combination of things who made no sense. It wasn’t until I stated that I was reporting them that he came back and said a second account found that made a mistake and was charging everyday for the zoo fee which a lie because I was there for 7 nights so if the charged me everyday 25 extra dollars it’s still wouldn’t be 343. Giovanni also lied the first day saying he was giving me a d
This was a very unique property. Literally you feel like you are living in the jungle. A great experience!
I did not like the unexpected charhes to my room. My family members went to have breakfast and expected to pay separately for there food. It was charged to my room. They did not explain that the meal was in US dollars. The breakfast was 3x the charges that it would have been if we ate at a restaurant in Belmopan. It was a rip off.
Amazing and wonderful open air eating facility, beautiful grounds full of birds and plants, staff couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. You'll be so glad you came!
This place is AMAZING!
Seriously!! What an amazing place! From the minute we arrived, it was an incredible experience. The welcome drinks were delicious, the grounds are immaculate and the treehouse rooms were luxurious...and it’s in the middle of nowhere! So secluded and the treehouse rooms are just so cool! We didn’t want to leave. The best service, food and drinks with awesome staff. Everyone was so friendly. The hot tub was a huge bonus too since it was chilly during our stay. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay for more than one night. If anybody ever asks me about Belize the first thing I’m going to think of is Ian Anderson’s cave branch lodge!
Beautiful, great staff, pretty good food. Wish we could have staffed longer
Adventure tours were all fantastic with small groups and terrific guides. We stayed in one of the 4 unique canopy Treehouses (very clean, great layout, fun!). Nice variety of food -- 3 course meal at dinners -- which was excellent and all healthy (locally sourced, made that day). Botanical grounds were incredible too. Staff was excellent and learned our names and likes quickly. Totally positive experience!
Slice of Paradise, but...
Great facilities and accommodations. A location that can’t be beat! The only weirdness was showing up for dinner the first night and not knowing that the meal was a family-style buffet (which was pretty okay...the exception being the stellar cheeses made on-site) with assigned seating with other groups of people you don’t know, including employees who were trying hype the property. The property doesn’t need it! If you’re wanting a quiet meal alone with your group and would like to order more distinctive cuisine, you’ll want to go offsite to another location.
Wow what a special place this is. The accommodations the adventure trips and staff are top flight plus Ian is a fierce advocate for the preservation of the environment and the welfare of the Belizean people
Very excellent customer service, excellent well kept amenities. Excellent food. Poor WiFi
I had to book a room here because it was the only one left in the area on our drive up to Mexico. If you are not a boyscout or girl scout that likes to eat, sleep and adventure in organized groups, do not go here. We have dinner at 6 with a big todo, lined up by our room numbers sitting with ppl I might not want to sit. Ok its all for social bonding, but Im not here for bonding, I want my dinner when Im hungry and sit opposite the person I chose to. Food is buffet style if you dont like anything on the buffet - your loss. Guides selling tours during dinner. the whole dinner procedure took forever. So, if you like this, and I am sure some ppl do, go on tours and be a sheep, be my guest, but I like to plan my own, thank you.
caves nice people nice rooms caves caves more caves some oranges
Great oasis in the Jungle, go if you want adventure trips.
My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Ian Anderson's!! We had our own jungle cabana and and spent real quality time together without the interruptions of tv and other electronic devices since there is only wifi by the pool and no outlets in the room. Idyllic stay in the rainforest with beautiful grounds and amazing food! The staff is extremely helpful and courteous! I would recommend this location to any family looking for an adventure vacation. We chose this location because it is centrally located between San Ignacio and San Pedro and were able to fit in everything from the ruins, caving and zip lining to snorkeling with sharks in San Pedro!
We had a very great stay at Ian Anderson, the staff were awesome and always ready to help and make the stay the most joyful possible . Would go there anytime
Ian Anderson's Hidden Gem !

This is one of the best places I ever stayed at. If you like a rainforest, / jungle setting, then this is by far one of the most peaceful, beautiful areas you could go to. Amazing staff and a overall fantastic experience. I picked it from expedia, and I am very glad I did. The grounds are beyond amazing, with its flora and beautiful pool and cabins. Nothing could have been better and I will be returning soon.
