The lobby, halls and elevators are badly in need of renovation. One elevator was out of action for our whole stay. It is not a 5 star property and not like any other Hyatt property I have stayed in. We had a decent room with nice views but the overall feeling was very disappointing. Staff were very nice and breakfast was good.

Fantastic Hotel in KK! Staff were friendly, engaging and helpful. The front desk staff helped us organize a couple of great tours and transportation. The breakfast is a must, sooo good! The pool area is gorgeous and bar staff is attentive and funny. Location is convenient for waterfront, markets, jesselton ferry terminal. Rooms were amazing, quiet, comfortable. Definately go for the water view! Worth every penny, loved it!

Rooms look a bit jaded; new curtains are needed - they look old and old fashioned.

The hotel needs a full renovation. The lobby brings you back to a 70's hotel lobby. Rooms are old and furnishing definitely showing its age. Broken steam iron, and other very old room faciities. Has NO tea or coffee facilities in the room - very surprising for a Hyatt (of if you can consider this favility a Hyatt?) May other hotels around that are much newer and with more modern facilities around. Will not recommend.

Spacious, modern and great location

Great location with spectacular views across the South China Sea and National Park . The rooms were modern, wonderful rain fall showers. Swimming pool was warm and clean with a pool bar nearby. Room was spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities

Excellent location and staff

The hotel is situated on the waterfront. Our room was large and comfortable, with a direct view of the sea, Pulau Gaya, and the incredible sunsets. The hotel is conveniently situated next to several shopping malls and the seaport/ferry terminal. It is also within easy and quick car ride to the bus terminal, the national museum, and the airport. The breakfast buffet is excellent, as well as the gym.The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

The hotel is showing its age but the rooms are spacious, the dining options are great and the staff were excellent. If it isn’t too hot try the pizza in the pool bar for dinner!

The room size and bathroom and toilet were nice but the carpet was very dirty and mattresses were old, sunken and springs were felt all over.

I believe this hotel is nearly perfect. If I may offer a suggestion, perhaps the parking lot could be enhanced to reflect a more artistic flair.

The pictures, as advertised, isn't exactly how it looks like currently. The hallways have a sickly yellowish color. The rooms (and hallways) have rugs in place which looks like it hasn't been washed/cleaned in years. The "city" view rooms actual overlook the outdoor carpark.

Although an old hotel well kept up great breakfast buffet and fabulous views of the harbor and sunset.

The room was comfy, clean with fresh ro mid lux interior design. The restaurants, cafe at the lobby are great. The main lobby is too humble, it gives a wring impression on the quality of rooms.

A pleasant surprise

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. A little older than other local hotels, nevertheless it retains a certain charm and is very comfortable. The staff where excellent throughout and the food was good

Fabulous breakfast buffer included

It is very nice that the hotel has sponsored amazing dragon and lions dance in front of the hotel to celebrate the Chinese New Year with the locals and guests! Excellent job to show its support of the local event and its culture.

Very nice hotel in the heart of KK. Everything we need are near the hotel especially big seafood markets.

Hyatt Regency Club Lounge

The Hyatt Regency club lounge is now like a kid's club. Children are allowed to shout, run around and jump on furniture without parental supervision.On two occasions we had to wait to get a table at breakfast. All staff members were friendly, helpful and courteous

15 min drive from airport. rooms are HUGE! i love the room toilet (stayed in a king room) the lobby isnt really fanciful or anything though. they could improve the design of the lobby to be more welcoming. extremely near alot of shopping centers n good food places

We got early checkin with out even asking

Tired old property, doesn’t really live up to the standard of Hyatt Regency elsewhere. Staff are just so so, subpar for a Hyatt Regency. The room is spacious, granted, but the bed is old and squeaky, lumpy and slanted somewhat. Can’t believe Hyatt Regency’s standard has plummeted so badly in this property. I do enjoy the all day dining room service. Food quality was good. Other than that, a disappointment.

Water quality in swimming pool is better than L M, K.K.

Mixed view

Mixed view, looked lovely, sea view, gave me a slice of cake as it was my birthday So all good, however not 5star service had to ask both times we swam for towels, decided to have my birthday dinner in hotel awful should have ate out Hotel had no chicken, steak or salmon, no blueberries or pineapple!! Children’s meal came Wagu beefburger, they ate, my birthday meal did not arrive, waited for ten minutes after they had finished their meal still no food so had to ask where my meal was, still not ready so cancelled it as did not want to eat my birthday meal alone so went hungry Will not recommend or return to Hayatt hotel

Nice staff very helpful

Rooms were very reasonably priced. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Rooms were quiet and very spacious. Check-in staff were very helpful.

Second time in Hyatt KK and it has amazed me again. The staffs as usual were kind, polite and attentive. They even upgraded my room to the suite and gave me early check in! Maybe coz im a returning customer. It’s convenient here with the mall next door for quick shop on any necessities and gaya street is just a walk away for nice food and drinks. Would definitely come back again.

A pleasant surprise

Booked this hotel last minute as the other cheaper hotel we planned to stay in was fully-booked. Was pleasantly surprised by how huge the rooms were. It’s an older hotel, and some of the furniture shows some wear and tear. However, the room and bathroom were still very clean and spacious. They provide large glass bottles of drinking water in each room, and you can request new bottles if you’ve finished the first 2. Unfortunately the booking didn’t include breakfast. However, the hotel is located near many good eateries, so that wasn’t a problem. The thing I liked best about this hotel is that it’s located right next to the jetty, where you can enjoy KK’s spectacular sunsets in the evening.

Have nothing much to comment about the Hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. We just enjoyed our stay there very much and complementary must be given to the Front Desk staffs. Thank you for making our 3 nights stay at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu fun, enjoyable and memorable.

Once a nice hotel but now dated

Room was impeccable condition and spacious. Staff was courteous and efficient.

The furniture is a bit old although the room seems to have refurbished. I had to request for bath robes after seeing other room had them hanging in the wardrobe whilst I was walking past the room. The buffet breakfast was good and their staff were friendly.

Good location near waterfront and market walking distance

My 2nd time staying in this hotel, first time was excellent very happy with the renovated room, love the room design. Unfortunately this time I was given a room without renovation (the old design) and paying the same room rate. A bit disappointed. The front desk apologized for the incident and advised to make the room request in my next booking.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel looks old on the outside but the room and restaurants were amazing. The room interior was super nice and my room overlooks the sea. It was an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend this hotel and return to stay in my next trip to KK. Cafes and restaurants in jln gaya is just a walk away too.

The location of the hotel is very good. A lot of nice food within walking distance. Near to mall and jetty. The room is clean and service is good. Wish to come again!

Hotel with great staffs and best location . Walking distance to Seafood hawker and China town .Good breakfast with daily rotation on some items .Provide early check in and late check out in ease .

Will I Return? Yess.

The room is great. Very comfortable. Located in the town center. A lot of restaurants nearby. Within walking distance. Only downside. Parking had to pay RM 10.00 one time. Then FOC multiple entries after that. For me, No need to take breakfast cos a lot of local food to try. Wan Wan Restaurant etc etc.

Huge room, comfy bed and pillows. Lots of local good and cheap food walkable in few minutes. Also about 10mins walk are the good cafes in Kinabalu.

Nice sea view & wonderful hotel

Kudos to Ka Yee from the receptionist who handled our day tour . The other staffs from the receptionist are also polite and tried to accommodate the customer. Well done. Nice view of the sea. Love it.

service and operations staff (front office F&B) were all very friendly and helpful at their own initiative. you don't have to ask, they know what to do. room was speck-less clean, however, the furniture inside are obviously old, run down & some are at the stage of going to break.

Borneo Adventure - KK stopover

Stopover on the way to the Borneo Rainforest at Danum. Hotel was adequate although everywhere and everything looked in need of a refresh. Breakfast was disappointing based on options we have had at similar hotels on our travels. Having a wedding at the pool/pool bar made relaxing early evening on our second day impossible without being intrusive on the wedding itself. People were however amiable and helpful at all times.

Improve front office desk And porter service. No staff available to attend to luggage upon arrival . Luggage sent to wrong room . Good highlight was I was given a room before 3pm .

Splendid family stay at Hyatt Regency KK

6D5N stay, 2 rooms seaview 9th floor Christmas week. +Staff- amazing! They're the ones who sell the hotel. Everybody was genuine in ensuring a pleasant experience for us. From bellboy to reception to housekeeping. +/-Rooms- Our rooms were huge with a king size bed. Waking up to the view was breathtaking. However, we didn't get an interconnecting room. Although room 910 is connected to room 908, we were given 910 and 912 instead. +Breakfast- wide range of pastries, juices, breads, local and international fare. +Location- central. Walking distance to malls, street food, Gaya Street, Filipino market.

The breakfast is very delicious, the staff is more frendly, the entire area is very clean and the atmophre is very convenience.

Good location and Services. No complimentary parking as i have to pay RM10 per entry althought in my booking it stated free parking.
