Such a beautiful resort
This is a beautiful property. Lots of activities for the kids and the rooms were spacious and clean.
Beautiful
Excellent buffet
Nice looking resort. Needs improvement in food service. Staff seemed overwhelmed at all points.
Spent a weekend here for a staycation and it was amazing. They do have construction going on but they do keep the walk paths clean by spraying them and sweeping any dirt off! Room service was delicious! Restaurants were great and the water park was great for the kids!
We didn't even get pass the gate...Attendant seemed to be more of an Investigator rather than Entrance Gate Guard. The 2nd encounter with the gate guard he yelled at us to get a Key next time while we're trying to explain that our room wasn't ready and we wanted to leave the property. My god, was the President staying there? Crazy.
The best I could say is nothing wrong. Everything was just above average. Service, food, room. Staff was good. No problems. Everything was clean. Room furniture was a bit below average. Furniture was miss-matched. Had all the pieces, but did not looked like the belonged together. Early cowboy was not my taste. Again, nothing wrong, but would try another hotel next time.
Pleasant stay!
5 star
I loved the whole vibe and atmosphere of the place. Just wonderful!!
We were there for a golf tournament and it was super convenient. Food, bars, and service were all great.
The property was beautiful as usual. Nothing stood out of the customer service that we received as a returning patron. There were some annoying noises during the late nigh, very early morning in the hallway that woke us up, but was quickly resolve upon contacting the front desk.
Too much construction
The gate, valet, and front desk staff members were welcoming and friendly, offering champagne upon arrival. Restaurant providing a delightful and flavorful dining food experience, with invaluable retail personnel, and guest services providing a shower chair upon request. Housekeeping top-notch, took pride in their work with cleaned rooms.
The hotel is huge and things are spaced very far apart. Hard to find the gym area. We went to the lobby bar and enjoyed our drinks there. Unfortunately when we went the spa was closed but the services in the converted hotel rooms was still nice.
Overall good experience, food was a bit pricyw
The place was very lovely and clean. Many activities available. I would like to recommend to anyone.
Clean & Quiet
Nice
Staff was great, grounds were nice and the spa was fantastic
The variety of sports, they have added pickleball courts in the tennis court area, which they did not have before. Lots of options.
No
It’s a lovely hotel with nice grounds and a good spa. Service at Charlie’s is terrible, but most of the property is a ghost town in December.
Nice and serene
Always a great stay here.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Since we came around the holidays it was nice to see all the different activities they had. From s’mores in the lobby to Christmas with Santa. Will definitely recommend and come back
Very relaxing ambiance and great customer service!
Great Resort.. Highly recommended!!
Beautiful Hotel
It started out bad/good. They had over sold their King size rooms and offered to upgrade us to a patio or balcony Jr. suite with two double beds for no charge. We elected to stay with our original King size reservation. They had no King size rooms so they upgraded us free of charge to a beautiful King size suite. This was great. The facility was beautiful. The only problem that we experienced is that we requested a late check out and they gave us a 12:00 check out. So Sunday morning I ran some errands and went back to our room and it was filled with cleaning staff at 10:45.
Excellent choice !!!
Our room and the property maintenance was great! We hope to bring back our family ways in a future trip.
Nice hotel
Amazing experience
Quick and efficient valet
The property itself wasn't bad. The room I was assigned was nice and big and even clean with a view or garden green with doors to walk out and enjoy which was great! *Tiny Shower - BUT in such a large room the shower was tiny (ti-i-neee). And there was a seat in it that could not be moved. I could barely navigate, therefore it took me twice and long and probably twice the amount of water to shower because I could barely move. * Ice Machine RIGHT next door - I could hear the motor (or something "humming" all night long. * Construction - On the second morning I was awoken by the sound of banging...then drilling. I look out and there are roughly 10 men standing around watching one guy make noise. I have no problem with maintenance but it would have been nice to have a courtesy warning. That said - I would return to try again if I'm ever in the area but I now know I need to be vigilant with questions about the room - How BIG (or small) is the shower stall? Are all amenities available? Is the assigned room in a loud zone/construction area??? Hope this helps improve for others
Enjoyed our stay to participate in the STCH Ministries golf tournament.
Very clean and helpful there was no need to leave the resort if you just want to stay and relax they have everything from food to activities all weekend
The resort was under construction which we did not know about. That meant the Golf course and the Spa did not have all areas available for use. Another issue for us was the pets in the dining areas. Out in the patio is fine, but why inside?
Great stay
Great resort to come and stay at. Very safe !!!
As a burnout San Antonio couple, we really needed a quiet getaway with a view to recharge. Heaven with the Front Desk did absolutely everything she could to accommodate us! Such a nice experience. Planning on coming back for a family staycation soon!
.
Nice hotel, very well set up for kids and families
Staff was amazing!!
Nice quiet property with updated rooms. The exterior of the property can use some updating, some rotting wood frames and the pool area can be updated.
Everything was good. If you like Diet Coke or Sweet N Low sweetner take your own. Just a preference. You can buy these in the store there. Overall a cool place with some cool history.
Not Great
Unfortunately this was a disappointing experience. The property is very nice but they gave us the wrong room twice, had to be on the phone 15 minutes and transferred four times before given an accessible room that did not have a tub when I let them know we were staying with kids. They basically said they were sold out so I I had to take what they had and they offered no accommodation. The dining is underwhelming and overcrowded - be prepared WELL in advance to ensure your kids can eat as the place is swarming witb families. We came for a birthday celebration and again, very nice resort. But lacking the experience and serve for the rate.
Amazing resort
Amazing resort for a couples getaway or family vacation! Super clean, relaxing and had lots of activities!
Great property, great service.
Drinks and food were not very good and the Room was super hot at night. Other than that the kids had fun.
It was a great experience! I can't wait to come back next time with the kids. Loved the water park, enjoyed sometime at the Spa and some drinks at the bar. Not to crowed end of September. There was always somewhere to sit available to enjoy the view. Room was spacious and clean and the shower was amazing! Friendly staff everywhere you went.
We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Will definitely come back again.
Loved the lazy river in the back!
Kids Only
Do not stay here unless you are taking kids or grandkids..
Excellent service! Food was great!
Perfect hotel for relax
Its set in the beautiful hill country with deer playing tn the background. The property is well maintained, the grounds are immaculate, the rooms are spacious and cozy. The food is excellent, the spa was wonderful and the staff are amazing
Awesome place.
The property was fine, but the the area around the lazy river and pools is not so clean.
I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Hill Country Resort! Their staff could teach a few lessons to the Disney folks about courtesy and helpfulness. It was extremely crowded over Labor Day but it sure didn’t seem like it as they had various activities planned all day Saturday and Sunday topped off with an outdoor movie and s’mores in the evening. Great memories made for our family!
Wonderful hotel - I highly recommend a stay here! Pool is amazing!
Most peaceful relaxing resort! Can’t wait to go back!
The only thing I didn’t like about this hotel was the lighting in the bathroom.
Lazy river was great. Beds were a little firm for me. But toddler loved it
Wonderful!
Everything was so relaxing. Best option for families with small to adult. Love all the activities for family and the very pleasant staff. Good food and drinks too!
We stayed with kids and it was perfect for the family
The lazy river was fun. We enjoyed the space for adults only to relax.
Great place and great staff. Hidden gem in the hill country.
Excellent place to relax, beautiful trees and very comfortable pool area, the service was excellent, the room not so much since the air conditioning did not cool enough
Sadly Disappointed
Where do I begin - parking was terrible, pool & lazy river was very dirty, they had limited skewers for S’mores which resulted in long wait times, no hand sanitizer stations and ice cold water stations were unavailable after 8pm. This is unacceptable for an upscale fancy resort. They remolded the rooms nicely, but the bathroom space is small and you are unable to get out of bathroom easily. #overrated
Great place
Extremely disappointing
Waited almost 2 hours for our rooms. Bags had already been taken by valet, so unable to change clothes while waiting, and ended up spending $65 in resort store to purchase swim trunks for my child. AC in room didn’t work, even after maintenance looked at it. Shower handheld grip was broken and almost hit my son in the face. Pillows were flat, and had to request extras twice because only two per bed provided initially. Overall a really terrible experience. Definitely did not have a “resort” experience.
The facilities were great and staff was amazing. The game room could benefit from upgrade. The restaurant could use more options for lunch and roomservice.
Love this place!
This is a wonderful resort- will definitely return. Great for kids and families. Room service was fast and food was very good. The spa was INCREDIBLE.
They cannot keep up with room cleaning. First day they never cleaned our room. 2nd day we had to tell someone on our floor to quickly tidy up as our little one was sleepy. They didnt vacuum at all.
Lots of fun for our family.
I really liked the variety of pools and foods they have.
Wonderful Family Stay
Great stay with the kids. The rooms was very comfortable and the kids love the whole experience.
Excellent
We took four kids, two teens and two pre teens and all of them had a great time! We got a rollaway bed for the room with two queens and it was perfect!
I will always stay at this resort! My family and I love it here
This is a great family resort. It is not the place to travel for an adults only vacation. The rooms are updated and the property is beautiful. It's great for walking around with a cocktail. Great dining options and bar options on property. Rooms are not very quiet. Noise comes in from the balcony and the door. The balconies are nice if a little small. We will return and bring the kids along next time.
I think the dining portions should be more for the money they cost.
We overall enjoyed our stay and being close to food and attractions. We like that the resort has plenty of options on site including swimming, food, store, movies and daily activity list. The pools don’t close until 10pm and had plenty of seating. The food prices were good and not overly expensive. More monitoring in the pool area as kids would take over hot tub and jumping off of bridges into 3ft pool. Parking area was close but did not have sufficient lighting at night. You have to pay $20 a day which isn’t bad but there is no other parking. We had an issue with several dogs near are room walking up our daughter and they quickly moved us and was very accommodating. Overall, would stay again.
Only complaint would be the game room in Charlie's
Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Booked without knowing what to expect. But it honestly exceeded my expectations! I love the family friendly vibes! Definitely will be booking here again.
The entire decor was beautiful, rustic and classy! Trees everywhere provided so much shade. The lazy river was so peaceful and I had a blast on the wave machine.
Love this place. Great rooms, activities for the kids, relaxing lazy river mostly shaded. Could be more eating options. For San Antonio they should have some good Tex-Mex food.
Great service overall
Just a great place for vacation
The property is well kept and beautiful. The lazy river feels like you are in nature and pools are nice too. My family enjoyed our three day stay very much.
I liked being there for the first time. I loved all the things the resort had to offer for my family. Loved the early check in. We only had one issue with our room 3604 which was the sink clogging up. Maintenance did come in to unclog but would drain slowly after.
We love this property! I only have one negative but it was pretty impactful - a giant flying roach in the room - eek! I know it’s Texas but it was terrifying and gross and it flew and we couldn’t find it…until we did. Jump scare! It was hard to sleep after that. They also remodeled the rooms which is great but there was nowhere to hang out towels after the shower. Very odd. We had towels hanging everywhere. Everything else was perfect as usual.
Parking needs improvement big time for both valet parking and self. There isn't enough for either one. It costs $20 for self & $40 for valet PER DAY. The primary restaurant is ridiculously overpriced and not very good. At first I had the cajun chicken over mac & cheese which was drenched in oil, yellow but tasted like nothing at all and I couldn't find the chicken either (tiny pieces). I swapped out for a chicken sandwhich and the bun was horribly dry. I expected so much better in the simplest of ways & because this place is a RESORT. Not a Holiday inn. My husband had a very good steak with potatoes and a few green beans (overpriced @ $36) that he shared with me since it atleast was seasoned with salt untlike my cajun chicken & mac, and was jucier than the chicken and bun. I will say that their breakfast options are amazing and where it's at ($29 per person). The room was gorgeous and the balcony had a couple chairs for 2 plus a table inbetween. The bed was comfortable but most of it other than the down feather comforter was a mess of flat sheets (2 sheets for 2 people under the comforter, 2 more over a bed protector/pad) which honestly caught me off guard and seemed very messy, and cheap. I didn't visit the childrens/family pools but the spa is absolutely amazing, relaxing, and I saw many folks older than I that were giddy about having such a relaxing space away from everyone to be in. The spa pool is $20 per person until 6pm.
Quick Trip
We usually stay at Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop but decided to try a new spot. The hotel was recently renovated and is awesome. I’d say though there are definitely not enough activities or things to do to keep you at the resort. I was looking for a resort to post up at for the 4 days but unfortunately had to leave a few times. The food is also very expensive-to be expected. But overall a nice resort but a 3 day stay tops.
Just a wonderful place
