The property was so clean and I loved the bathroom and all it had to offer. I also loved the light system that was by the bed.

Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a conveniently located hotel in Capetown.
The staff here are all friendly and helpful.
Beautiful property and excellent staff!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were also extremely accommodating. Room was wonderfully comfortable.
front of house were exceptional. friendly and helpful always going the extra mile to help
Amazing staff. Always friendly and helpful. 5 star service at a 4 star price.
Would do it again
Good place - friendly staff - Central - Good rooms
Enjoyed room service thank you
Stayed many more days than planned - we left luggage & traveled out & back.
Zee and Amin at the front desk was extremely helpful with coordinating family activities. Their knowledge and willingness were greatly appreciated. All of the staff was very welcoming, and I would highly recommend the Hyatt hotel. The area is close to a few restaurants and the Waterfront; great location. The suites were beautiful with a nice view. The variety of foods at breakfast was more than enough, so much variety and it was hot and fresh; made to order. I am definitely staying here again, when I'm back in Cape Town!! Worth every penny.
Hotel itself is nice, however I would not stay here again and would advise that anyone avoids this area! Call to prayer, palestine flags, homes painted with the palestine flag and large groups of males hanging about the street attempting to intimidate others. Not a safe area!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Hotel staff were great, Sedick was very helpful, beautiful hotel. Thank you for a great stay.
Staff is wonderful. Room service was even available late as my flight got canceled and I had to return to the hotel in the late evening hours. Room was cleaned well and everything was excellent.
The property was well maintained and secure.
Great hotel! Very professional staff who go all out to make you feel at home
It was clean, safe, quiet and had great food
The staff were amazing and took such good care of us!!
Excellent
Great customer service, excellent location , delicious breakfast, and very comfortable rooms .
Liked everything…a bit sketchy one side of the building but they can’t control that. One very minor suggestion…more hooks in the bathroom. Otherwise everything was exceptional.
Wonderful stay!
There was a little mix up when we checked in. I booked a Club Room & when I asked about Lounge access, I was told it wasn’t part of the booking. The gal at the front desk called right after I got to my room to apologize for the mix up & yes we did have access to the Lounge. Everyone was extremely nice & helpful! Longke (working at the front desk) was extremely helpful with information about surrounding areas & things to do at the Waterfront! He also kept us laughing!
Amazing welcoming staff Great break fast
Excellent place to stay. Lots of good eating places within 5 minute walk.
Great staff and a nice room and view. Regency Club benefits not always clear as there is no lounge. Housekeeping staff very sweet.
Amazing
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The property is well maintained and the patio area is fantastic. We’d love to come back here especially for the breakfast!
The staff and service was incredibly Great. Staff paid attention & carefully listened to guest to insure comfort away from home.
So glad we stayed for 4 night at the Hyatt, it’s right next to Bo Kaap and just a street away from Breë St, the hub of dinning and bar. Our room was well appointed and spacious but what shone is the staff, they are welcoming, attentive and helpful in every way from our bellman to the concierge or restaurant and the host at the Hyatt club…we love them and they certainly made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.
Stay was lovely
The best service I’ve received at a hotel in my life. Staff was beyond attentive and friendly.
Phenomenal property with a staff that went above and beyond to ensure a perfect family reunion. Could not recommend it more. Absolutely perfect!
Excellent stay
great customer service. Will return
Excellent choice
Excellent choice for family at the heart of cape town .
The room was clean, comfy , great view of table mountain and the staff was excellent.
If staying in Cape Town's City Centre, this is one of the top properties. The rooms are modern, comfortable, safe and immaculate. When I arrived, the hotel could not find my booking, which I made almost a year earlier. Fortunately they made every effort to sort the situation out. I found this property a helpful homebase, in visiting several downtown tourist sites including District Six and The National Gallery. It is near to many of the bus routes, which makes getting a ready a cinch. Lodging in the Bo-Kaap district was interesting too. Hearing call-to-prayer was an unexpected and pleasing sound. I stayed during NYE and the festivities roll right through the corner intersection. It was quite the party. My favourite feature of the hotel was the take away cafe/kiosk in the lobby. Great sandwiches, coffee and sweets and at a great price. My least favourite hotel feature was the pool area. It doubles as a bar with numerous guests smoking cigarettes and Hooka/Shisha. It's nauseating to an extreme. A peculiar mixture of clientele too. For my last Cape Town day, I've moved to Camp's Bay Village. It's down-market, but much more authentic and free of pretence. I recommend visitors mix it up, a couple days in the city centre and a few days at the beach. Value rating = medium.
Wonderful stay at a perfect location in the heart of Africa
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. A special thank you to their concierge, Sedeeik. He was amazing with arranging personal tours for us and made my wife's birthday quite memorable. Thanks!!!
Really helpful staff
The staff was helpful and made me feel welcomed. The breakfast buffet was great
Great location. Service was amazing
Nadine at check in was an absolute Stella star ! Can’t thank her enough
A wonderful experience!
Across the board, this was a 5-star experience. The incredible staff are attentive, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and luxurious. Abubakr at the front desk was particularly helpful in pointing out coffee shops and fun places to visit.
Very expensive, over sold, not 4 star. Gym, pool and sauna very disappointing.
Great stay and attentive staff
Second visit to Cape Town, wanted to stay near Bo Kaap, Kloof Street, Long Street, and near Table Mountain for hiking. A lot to do in the area, very electric, much more of a Cape Town experience than other more touristy areas. Breakfast buffet is pretty incredible. Staff extremely friendly. Nice pool
Treated Us Like Royalty
Our stay was amazing! From the time my family and I arrived, we felt well taken care of! All the staff especially the front desk, breakfast hostess, pool bar attender, Urchins waiter, and concierge provided 5 star service! We will definitely stay here again in the future.
This hotel is amazing and the staff are so wonderful, friendly and just so helpful. Makes your stay really great
Hyatt is in a great location in Capetown
All of the staff members at the hotel were incredibly friendly & helpful. We got to know quite a number of them & they took special care to remember things we liked & gave us great suggestions on things to do & places to go.
Worst part of Cape Town trip
It was extremely terrible. I tried to call the reservation desk two days prior to checking in. No answer. Then upon checking in we were given a room with a bathroom that looked like it was made for a hospital room, not a 5 star hotel. There was no curtain and as a result the shower water soaked the whole bathroom floor which was a huge slipping hazard. The sink was a small hole in the wall. The bath gel, shampoo and conditioner came in very very small bottles. Barely enough for one person, let alone two. Which you pay more money for 2 ppl occupancy. The in room dining menu was no where to be found. In room fridge was empty except for 2 bottles of water. We had to call and ask for bedroom slippers and bathrobes. They said they do not provide this unless guest specifically requested it. They were also missing a hair dryer. I assume this should be standard in a 5 star hotel. But it was missing from the room. Calling down to concierge, in room dining and housekeeping was a nightmare. Absolutely no one answered. Only reception was answering their phones. And when talking to reception, their response was so slow. I ended up going down myself to order in room dining because even though they promised to get back to me, they didn't (i waited 30 minutes). Hotel promised to make it up to me, but poor communication between the hotel staff just ended up with confusion, more problems and almost renegging on what was previously promised to me. Extremely terrible hotel.
I was really disappointed with the apparent lack of care to real customer service. The stand up lamp was broken in our room. The telephone hand set was not working properly, the sliding door between the bedroom, bathroom was stuck. Obviously the room was not checked before our arrival. The first call for help was forgotten until I so complained with a second call. The lamp and handset were removed never to be seen again. We were never advised about the elevator in the hotel to the parking garage underground and when coming back one night, we were concerned for our safety that we had to walk from the parking garage outside to the hotel front door. We were thereafter told about the internal elevator by the independent travel desk. The staff were polite and seemed to be doing a good job but obviously not good enough.
Cape Town
All the hotel Colleagues from cleaners to reception, front door and breakfast team were excellent. They could not be more helpful and made me feel at home….thank you
The room was lovely, the breakfast buffet was incredible!!!
It’s a nice hotel, really clean, in a really cool neighborhood. PRO: - in Bo Kaap, which is really cool - has shops around, and within walking distance to Long Street - definitely make sure you get the Mountain View room - really close to basically everything - staff is super friendly - in hotel cafe is pretty good - generator kicks in during loadshed so you only lose out power for a minute or less. CON: - the room has a light that doesn’t work - pool is really small, and the water seems dirty, haven’t seen anyone swam in it - not sure how the sauna works at the gym (knob seems broken?) - bathroom in the room is really nice, really great tub Something’s to consider: - WiFi could be kind of weak - the Starbucks inside is… okay I guess? - a lot of random people around, basically people looking for money, so don’t respond to people trying to talk to you that you don’t recognize
Great Hotel
Great hotel for the price, just lacking some basics like shower gel being replaced.
Clean, nice, great staff, in a great area and location. Very pleased with my stay.
The Best service, amazing rooms and bathrooms, great restaurant! Will definitely be back!!!!!
Exceptional staff in all departments, get to know you by name , great travel desk for all your holiday needs .
Mass confusion at breakfast restaurant although the food and the selection were exceptional. Did not get our wake up call, although it was not a major problem for us. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Friendly and great helpful staff and a very selective breakfast buffet..
I was very pleased with our stay at the hotel. The price was reasonable and the service excellent. The buffet breakfast was super as well. We have not known about it before but we had a free transportation possibility to V&A Waterfront. That came very handy because the streets did not feel safe enough for walking.
We had a great stay. Staff were wonderful and room was very comfortable and clean.
I will hold my experience in Cape Town to my heart. The amazing team their especially JP went above and beyond to make my stay there an ultimate pleasure. The travel desk ensured that I was able to experience the best that Cape Town had to offer. The hotel is right in the historic Bo Kapp area which offered so me unique learning opportunities. I can’t wait to return to
Lovely Stay and Location
Great hotel with nice big clean rooms. There is a decent gym as well. It was winter so I didn’t manage to get to use the pool area but it looked great for the hot summer days. My only negative comment is the breakfast was not the greatest. Poor choice of food and halaal options only which is no ideal from those that aren’t.
The front desk people were amazing! There was a guy named Rushen with beautiful eyes that helped set up a tour for us. Everyone there was helpful, friendly and attentive!
The only complaint was that we booked two rooms, which we expected to be near each other and they were 2 floors apart. We traded with someone because the staff said they couldn't switch.
Amazing place in all possible ways
Overall just OK.
We enjoyed our stay, but the hotel is to 4star standard, not 5star. Cheap door into en suite with broken handle. No hooks to hangs items, only hangars in wardrobe. Too many indicator lights on (6 in total!), could not get a completely dark room. Who would want a clock in the en suite? On the positive side we were comfortable, the staff were excellent and attentive - the breakfast was perfect.
Lovely stay
We had a lovely stay at hyatt cape town. We didnt have breakfast at the hotel but enjoyed the little cafes around and nearby.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Great new design.
Great new and modern designed rooms. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Not 5 star worthy
Check in was quick and easy compared to other hotels but was a little uncomfortable when they told us breakfast is not included when it definitely was. I had to find an email proving so. There's absolutely no ways this can be a 5 star hotel. It lacks in basic amenities. Things like cotton pads, earbuds, sanitary packets and facecloths should be standard in the room. There was a day where our basic toiletries weren't replaced and when we asked for some they gave us Shampoo and Shower gel bottles filled with WATER. Absolutely unacceptable. Breakfast mediocre at best. Steam room didn't work. View from the window was of a run down building next door. Room service meal 0/10. Staff super friendly and nice- Except maybe the cleaning staff as I don't know why they wouldn't replace our used toiletries. In fact they took away anything extra we had in the room. So if you wanted to shower at night there was no soap or shampoo or lotion to use. Also room service items were never cleared away. I think the hotel has run out of money to sustain itself as 5 star. Parking is R140 a night here so plan ahead. Only positives are that hotel is Central and that its fully halal.
4 days in Hyatt
Nice Hotel directly in Bo Kaap and close to restaurants and shops. Covid Measurements in place in entrance, friendly reception and a small library as well as a starbucks in the entrance hall. Mountain view Room was beautiful and quiet with lots of space. Room Service quick and affordable. They have a nice pool are, steam room and sauna as well. I would definitely recommend this place. Bolt to the V&A Waterfront takes 10 minutes and costs only a few bucks.
Excellent room, location okay
The area surrounding the hotel did not feel safe to walk around. The hotel itself was very comfortable. My booking said top floor, which is not what we got, but the view and room was still very good, so I did not complain. Please note it is a halaal hotel (which I did not know before booking), which is of no concern unless you prefer specific breakfast options or having a bar in the hotel. Would recommend if you want comfort, and location is not that important.
Nice spot!
Love the hotel…good value for the money
The hotel is really nice and I liked it but, did not feel safe to walk around, because of the location.
Perfect stay for a quiet peaceful clean and fresh
This is teshane … I really enjoyed all about the hotel it was perfect .. just perfect
Romantic weekend
Amazing
Disappointment.
Booking assured a topfloor room, upon checkin “hotel full” so got 4th floor. Room different from picture: barren looking without carpet or cushions on couch. Instant coffee doesnt belong in a 5 star hotelroom. Breakfast selection was average wth staff not on hand for replenisment when food ran out. Overall disappointing for a Hyatt.
Great stay!!!
I Booked the trip for my son. He was VERY happy with the hotel and also the very nice lady at the front desk. He said that she was a saint and helped him figure out some traveling issues.
The staff is very supportive and kind. Also, the hotel is located close to the downtown
Cons: No true king bed- they combine two beds and call it king; it’s uncomfortable to sleep in the middle as you feel the lining The pool area is open to smokers so if you have children or don’t like the smell of smoke; it’s hard to enjoy the poolside because everyone around is smoking Restaurant food doesn’t have many vegetarian options. Pros: Waterfront shuttles every hour Clean Staff is nice
The halal breakfast buffet was amazing! Would definitely recommend - especially for the Muslim travellers. Prayer rooms are provided at the lounge level. Stayed at the spacious king suite - place was perfect! Staff were friendly and helpful :)
Location was excellent as well as the staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Very friendly staff and good airport transfer in god vehicle....................................
Overall, it was good stay. Great staff and very welcoming.
Great location in a walkable neighbourhood. The breakfast is superb!
Highly recommended
Amazing hotel. Staff is very nice and friendly. Special mention to Sinalo from the restaurant and Josh from front desk. More staff but don’t remember all the names.
I Don’t Recommend This Hotel 4any friends or enemy
They Don’t respect privacy and Don’t Appreciate Their customers. I don’t recommend this resort for any friend or enemy. I spent 4 nights of my Honeymoon nights they Didn’t give me the treatment of the Honeymoon. I really regret for those nights.
Horrible !!!
Great hotel in Cape Town
Amazing service from really pleasant staff. Would note that its in a reasonably busy part of town, and outside noise (no more than any other city) is noticeable. Saying that i'll use hotel again when in cape town
I loved the staff, professional, helpful, kind and warm folks! The food is good. I didn’t like the artificial meat option provided. The hotel was centrally located but I didn’t care for the neighborhood. the shower flower, toilet fixtures need repair, curtains stained, lounge chair stained, repair marks and wholes visible. Online, front desk, and concierge personnel don’t communicate on behalf of guest specifically for transportation.
everyone that works at the hotel is very friendly and outgoing. Also very helpful with directions, suggestions for shopping and dining and transportation
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. A central location with beautiful view of table mountain. Loved the complimentary transfer down and back to the the V&A waterfront We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which had a fabulous set up. We needed to add an extra room for a partial day with luggage transfer and everything was set up and completed efficiently when we arrived back for that day. The Hilton should be proud of there exceptional staff at this hotel
Beautiful views and historic location!
Friendly service, beautiful mountain views, great Executive Lounge made it a special stay. Hotel is situated in close proximity of the colorful houses and in the historic Bo Kaap.
Staff were the best we have ever had in the world, particularly in the restaurant. Breakfast choice was outstanding, though evening meals were limited (we dined elsewhere after the second evening). We had problems with the room (door lock malfunctioned and had to be replaced, use of iron continually tripped plug fuse), but these were swiftly dealt with by staff. Wardrobe space in room was inadequate for more than two-day stay for 2 people.Overall, it was the staff that made it for us.
Classy hotel in great location but inconsistent
We liked the room decor and style, with wood floors, "fireplace," and big bathroom, with both tub and shower. The bed was comfortable, too. The pool, gym, and sauna were nice amenities we enjoyed. Moreover, the location was great for us, right in the center of it all, with quick shuttles or taxis to both Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. Also, we could walk to Green Market Square and Company's Gardens, and Long Street, which was fantastic. The inconsistent aspect of this hotel was their front desk staff and service. On several occasions, the staff had me standing at the front desk for 30 minutes to try to upgrade my room, work out a billing problem, or resolve a snafu with a full-day tour, and each time, nothing was fixed to my satisfaction. The staff delayed and prevaricated, acting like they wanted to help me, but never did truly help me. Lee Ann gave my wife a package of chocolate cookies; aside from that, the hotel did nothing else to show they appreciated my business or wanted me as a return guest. Puzzling! It's not hard for a hotel to make something right, which is something Hilton prides itself on. This hotel never took any step to "makes things right" for us, during our 6-night stay. I am not sure why they would want to risk the reputation of the Hilton company, but they definitely did much less than is normal from a respectable hotel. I never even yelled or lost my patience. I tried to be nice at all times. In the end, I felt ignored and disrespected.
Contemporary hotel, clean and modern bath. Nice lounge. Some front desk staff were rude, noisy rooms, single panel windows. Nice lounge.

The very best service anywhere
Room had a lovely view of table mountain. The food was excellent and the service undoubtedly the best that we have ever experienced! There is a free shuttle bus to the Waterfront every hour and free pick up too. We will not even look to stay elsewhere on our next visit. It will be here!
