As new owners they are working to get the amenities up to scratch. The staff are outstanding, friendly and go way above and beyond to accomodate. Beds were comfortable and we had a city view. Fabulous to sit on shaded balcony with a breeze. Lots of restaurants and bars within a 2 minute walk. Beach right across the road. Breakfast for little money was adequate. Would absolutely recommend.

Only downside is noise. Very peaceful overnight (11-7), but quite noisy otherwise If I knew I was getting Room #1 I would not have stayed here (right on sidewalk street level).. Otherwise excellent.

They were very helpful with getting a taxi for my early flight and even opened the breakfast for me to ba able to eat something quick despite it being very early. Will stay here again!

Great place to stay

We had a wonderful and welcoming stay at Hotel Varandas. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is convenient and authentic to Portuguese culture, and we were able to navigate the surrounding areas thanks to the staff. They made our first trip to the Azores enjoyable and rememberable!

I just spent a week with my son and it’s a little gem in the middle of the city with a perfect view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even had breakfast ready at 4 in the morning before we were leaving, breakfast is only at 730 and they would leave breakfast set up a little longer for the late arises. The room was always very clean. I would definitely recommend this place and will go back.

Great location

Great location and nice hotel. Double room was a bit tight for a family of four but you can't beat the location. Access to the beach and other areas is an easy walk.

The service was second to none!

We had a layover on Terceira Island for one night on our way to Lisbon so we stayed here and had a great experience. We landed late and Tania, at the front desk, was there to welcome us with all the information we needed, included some options on where to get a late dinner and drink some place walkable. The location was great, right across from the beach, with local restaurants, ice cream, and beautiful walks right on the strip. They even let us store our bags after checkout so we could explore more and called a taxi so we could make it to our flight on time. Great people, great spot!

Atlantic Ocean with a beach is right across the road, restaurants very close by

Friendly staff. Very accommodating. Travelling with 2 kids and they had a crib in the room ready for us. Late check in was no issue. Clean room and comfy beds.

The staff was extremely helpful, cheerful, and spoke several languages. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. Good breakfast buffett and fantastic location! This was my second reservation👍

Great stay

This hotel was exactly what we were looking for in a 1-2 night stay. A continental breakfast was available for a small fee, they front desk staff were so kind & helpful! They held onto our luggage for a few hours, assisted us w/taxi/shuttle service & we’re overall just very generous. You’re right across from the beach too!

My mother is travelling with me she is 86 years old. They had no room for me and my wife they wanted us to go to a different hotel and leave my mom alone. She’s 86 and very sick. The reason was for her to be close to us the manager very disrespectful. only his way I told him I have to be close to my mom. She is very very sick. Me and my wife had the ocean front view reserved. He did not give it to us. He gave me a room at the back very dirty, and did not give us back the difference of money of the ocean front of you. He was rude very inconsiderate will never put my feet there or family there again very very disappointed.

We love this place! So clean and modern! And very close to everything. Parking is a bit of a hassle but worth it.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating to your needs. Convenient to walk to different restaurants. The property and rooms are very clean. The view is beautiful and close to the beach.
