This property can be so much more, with a little effort to maintain the suites. The rooms were tastefully designed but fixtures and accessories all required maintenance or replacement. Rooftop restaurant and pool is 5 star and restaurant staff were very accommodating.
Great quiet place to stay with the best views
Hotel was v good. Reception were courteous and helpful. View from the rooftop restaurant was unmatched. Food and staff on our first night were excellent, opening up the raised viewpoint for us to take drinks and get closer to the view. Breakfast however was disappointing - not a Buffett on the first morning, no menu and limited offering. 2nd morning better but fell short of our first nights experience. Would defo choose this hotel just for the view
Property and our stay was awesome but we got sick from the restaurants food. The restaurant has poor service too and one of the pools is just for show.
Hotel has 5 star quality . Attention to detail. Friendly staff.
This property is beautiful but seems like the management has stopped caring. it is now rundown. You can see broken marble, glasses etc. the plumbing system does not function well. And we were there for 24 hours and wifi did not work at all, though the staff tried to fix it. It seems the good days are behind this beautiful property. The pro was, there is lot of shopping around and people are very nice, Two very beautiful retuatrants, Ambrai and Upre are walkable distance.
Unique comfortable hotel in old city
Very large and comfortable room with separate sitting room. Very nice traditional decorations and style, not your typical standard hotel room! Good service. Nice view from rooftop terrace and breakfast area.
Looks like a palacial building with ornate architecture and intricate designs all over. We felt like we went back in time over 100 years. Very nicely decoated with old time theme. The roof top pool area is full of Instagram type photo spots. If you like heritage look, this is the right hotel. If you like contemporary design and absolute today's bathroom and bedroom, this hotel is probably not the right one. We loved their old looking bathroom and bedroom. Service was quite good.
Avoid if you can.
Just Avoid. For a beautiful hotel, the service is extremely bad and poor. Please AVOID
Lovely place to stay while in Udaipur, it gives you an authentic experience. The roof top restaurant is lovely and there are two amazing pools up there. There is also a bar which can get lively on the weekend with a glass! The rooms are comfortable, we had a massive bathroom with a marble bathtub. The staff were also friendly and helpful. For the price we paid, I think we definitely got value for our money, I would recommend staying here.
It was ok for the price. I called several times to get two nights before my arrival .. with no luck from front desk. My room when I checked in was near the street and did not seem safe for a solo traveler so they “upgraded “ me to a suite room. The shower head sprayed me in the face when I turned it on.. I didn’t get hot water , the sheets smelled like it wasn’t washed . The room was extremely cold .. I had a space heater to place near my bed for heat. At breakfast there was not enough room for me to eat .. the staff asked me to sit outside .
The location within the older section of Udaipur provided a central location from which to walk and visit the sites. The garden provided a lovely spot for relaxation and the roof top restaurant and with city views were great
Stay hotel udai kothi udaipur
Road to Hotel Udai zkothi is very narrow. Cab can not reach the hotel. Hotel 3rd floor resturant. Bar and swimming fool excellent. Fantastic view. Rooms are just average. Bed linens are not good. Very old.
I always love staying here! It’s a beautiful boutique hotel. Very comfortable place to stay and the staff is excellent. Located right in the old city. (My only suggestion would be to add more lighting to the rooftop restaurant at dinner: it was too dark to see the food or read the menu, all of the guests/tables were discussing this. As a result I ate dinner elsewhere.)
Good
The service was very poor. The hotel organised an event for Valentines day and refused to serve the In-house guest (no room service facility all day). Even water was refused by the hotel because they said there is no staff. A can of coke they be charging at 400 INR. Its incredible. Having paid 10,000 a night and staying here for 2 nights i expected better service. There is no proper road for the car due to construction. Forced to move in and out in a rickshaw.
our room on the 2nd flr was very noisy. Sounds like we were between a laundromat that ran 24 hours a day and school yard full of children. But our friend's room on the 7th floor was totally different and quite. Its a busy part of town but it was hard to sleep. The hotel was old but the location was pretty cool. We have to take rickshaws into that part of town, which was fine actually. The garden was the only place the internet worked but it was beautiful and I even saw monkeys in the garden.
Not a 5 star stay for a reason...
This hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooftop pools and dining, the gardens, the small details of the rooms, comfortable beds, and overall feel. However, unfortunately his was all partially outshined by the poor service. We sat at dinner without service for quite a while, they didn't put in orders multiple times, and the manager (or overall lead of the hotel) was quite rude and on his phone always. At checkout, it took a long time, and they said they didn't have the car we wanted for a taxi to the airport - instead of graciously giving us a free upgrade, they charged us more, again, even though we had reserved at a lower price - what kind of service is that? Seems like a scam to me. My boyfriend had stayed here previously and says the service this time around was exponentially less than two years ago - which is sad since it's such a beautiful stay.
Average hotel, good photos, bad features
The hotel pictures look nice, but it’s not the same. There is no in room dining, no WiFi, the tv channels were not all working, the shower was spraying everywhere instead of one direction. It’s ok because they have worked on making it look good but the focus on service is missing
Stay at Udai Kothi
There was no room service available, that's the least expected at any hotels. There is no in-room WiFi available, only works in the lobby. The overall light in the hotel room is very dim and insufficient.
Nice little affordable place in an old city.
This is a nice little affordable stay in the heart of Udaipur. They have a rooftop swimming pool but as far as the feature goes thats about it. The restaurant right opposite the property has amazing food and lake views a must for visitors. The folks in the city are nice so be kind to them as well. Overall this place offers a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. The front desk can help you with your touring needs.
Property on very good location, reception is very kind specially Ms Shaheen was very cooperative. Services were good.
Location and ambience were perfect. Coffee was Nescafe and this was the only negative
Totally overrated hotel in Udaipur. Not so welcoming staff and average rooms
Great hevali but not really healpful staff
Me and my friends stayed 1 night we arrived early, luckily we could check in early but when we asked for help the staff doesnot really care about what we need. Anyway, it surprised me when the hotel offered 2 rooftop pools. The breakfast was the best!!! The bathroom was really BIG.
Most unwanted property in hospitality business
Most uncomfortable stay in my life in 60 years. Shall never ever recommend to stay in udai kothi. Totally unprofessional managed property. No staff no service no hospitality. I wish they do not cheat people as already they cheated us by giving wrong rooms . Too rude staff and no managers were able. They should refund our 50000 Rs immdietly and also compensate us for mental torcher due to so many arguments we had at the property with other at least 20 guest like us flight for proper rooms and proper service. Let's.not talk more. Had enough.
Nice property , looks amazing during the night , rooftop views are good , people are nice , good dinner buffet options and breakfast in the morning is good. Place can get crowded with groups so go early for breakfast. Centrally located , cannot be reached by car but it’s so of all places around here
Centrally located which is a great benefit Staff are willing but some lack experience I was impressed with the quality of the rooms and found the room extremely comfortable My only criticism is the manager at dinner appeared to question whether we were guests of the hotel when we sat down for dinner at our prebooked table He questioned my daughter if she was a guest ! This was on our 3rd night .. The bar staff who knew us tried to compensate for his rudeness which was nice. However We were made to feel uncomfortable and sadly this experience means we will not be booking again at the Udai Kothi
We had a lovely suite. The location was good, swimming pool lovely, food very tasty and staff delightful. The garden was a lovely place to relax too.
The hotel has beautiful architecture and has a lovely swimming pool. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but need a bit of improvement (cupboards not shutting, dingy lights). However I was unhappy with two things - firstly the service is very poor both on the front desk and in the breakfast room and restaurant. The check in was incompetent and the front desk was unable or unwilling to answer the simplest of questions about Udaipur. The breakfast/restaurant staff had no interest in their guests, didn't bother to greet you and most of them never smiled. So different from our experience in our other hotels in India. This only improved on our last day when a new restaurant manager started and staff started to do their jobs properly. We had to wait over one hour for our food to arrive one evening. I would have complained to a hotel manager but never managed to see anyone in charge. My other complaint is that building work is going on but it is not fenced off and parts of the new extension are very dangerous for adults, let along children.
Beautiful Haveli
Beautiful haveli. Love this place. Great location and helpful staff. Lovely pool and breakfast is good.
Hotel is nice.. Staff is really bad and their service is pathetic.. They are using old bottles to send RO water in rooms.. They do not provide room service if order is not for big amount. Room service is very bad. Hotel reception staff is too bad and never hear for complaints and pass arguments. On first day lift was not working. Breakfast is also not good.
Overall good experience
The menu was not proper it was just a printed papers and does not mentioned proper things and its too expensive as per 3star property
The hot water only runs at certain times. The hotel is adding floors on top of the existing ones. Construction starts after 9 am, but it can still be disturbing, and the internet service is next to nonexistent. However, the hotel is near the lake, but on Saturday night the narrow streets are so packed with vehicles that pedestrians have a difficult time navigating through these narrow corridors. Another plus for the hotel is that it is centrally located.
Great location. Lovely room.
We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a trip around Rajasthan. The hotel welcome was very nice, being given flowers and the mark on our foreheads. The grounds of the hotel are well decorated with lots of bowls of flowers and there is a lovely garden area. The roof of the hotel has a nice pool and restaurant area. The room was a good size. The bed was comfortable and we were given plenty of water and some biscuits. The bathroom was a good size with hot water and his and her's basins. The hotel is in easy walking distance of all the main attractions and close to lots of good bars and restaurants. Overall I would say this is a great place to stay to explore Udaipur. Show less
Palace charm, good service, nice rooftop
I had a very nice two night solo stay at Udai Kothi. Check in was smooth although I would recommend timing your arrival to avoid traffic. (I arrived in early afternoon and ended up getting out and walking the last few blocks because traffic was at a standstill). My room was large and nicely decorated. The floor, rug and funiture were a bit worn but functional. The towels were dingy white but seemed clean. The breakfast spread each morning seemed fresh and had lots of options. The pool is nice, especially after a long day of sightseeing. From the rooftop you can see the lake or even catch a glimpse of sunrise or sunset. The rooftop restaurant looks magical when lit at night and the buffet dinner is expensive (compared to just ordering a fish or two at a local restaurant) but the food was good. The hotel is within walking distance to the city palace and there are a few good restaurant options nearby. The WiFi was a bit spotty. Overall I would give this place a solid 4.5/5 and recommend a stay here. I would have stayed another night but they were fully booked.
Poor experience. Would not return.
Poor check in. Disorganised and things offered & confirmed on Expedia were not honoured. Main thing was that I had booked a ground floor ACCESSIBLE room as I was traveling solo with a baby in pram. As a concession I was offered a room on the 2nd floor with lift access, however the very old lift was frequently not working and it was a real struggle getting the pram in and out of it as it was so tiny. Another gripe was the kitchen timings. Food was not available when I needed it. The kitchen was closed when we arrived at 4:30pm and I could not feed my child. We went elsewhere to eat. There are construction works going on at the property, over the lake spoiling the view. Please see picture. Very noisy due to room being right next to lift. Travelling with a 2 year old so would have expected them to give me a quiet room. Constant loud noise from people coming up and down in lift/stairwell and staff walking about. Echoing. Also room over looks hotel entrance so noise from road and people on forecourt. Avoid room 302 if you want peace and quiet! Bare in mind hotel is not directly on lake. There is a road, plus shops/restaurants on the opposite side of the road before you get to the lake. So “lake view rooms” also overlook all of the above aswell. Not a peaceful view st all. Staff were up and down. Sometimes very attentive and helpful, other times indifferent and rude. For example I would be asking the front desk something and they would turn away mid sentence and start he
Central Haveli Hotel with Pool
This attractive Haveli style Hotel is conveniently located in the old city, a little walk to the City Palace and with a lovely rooftop pool, bar & restaurant. A short walk can also bring you out opposite the best view in Udaipur, where many locals gather at sunset. The rooms are large, clean & competitively priced making this exceptionally good value if you want to stay centrally & yet be able to escape the clamour of the streets and lounge by the pool. I stayed for 3 days at end of January & was usually the only guest using the rooftop pool. The public areas are open & airy & are well decorated with old photographs of Rajasthani Royals & tasteful Indian antiques, & the entrance is particularly attractive, as is the enclosed garden at the rear. Fans, A/C, room-safe, kettle & fridge were all provided, with large cupboard space & a vast marble bathroom.
City centre location easy walking access to sights
After a long day walking around Udaipur dinner at the roof top restaurant is ideal to unwind. The food is excellent and always fresh with courteous service.
good location, ambience
good location, ambience, well priced, great service and food. Some soft furnishings on the hall floors may soften some passage noise. Otherwise excellent.
A good experience
We were upgraded to a suite and it was fantastic, Sunno looked after our room and was very helpful! Desk staff could be better informed! Nice gardens, groovy small lift to the restaurant Good location, love the Amber restaurant which is very close.
Pure bliss
When we arrived at Udai Kothi we were immediately made to feel relaxed and welcome, which is wonderful considering how chaotic other parts of India have been for us. Our room was upgraded to a suite which was brilliant. It was spacious and luxurious, everything we had imagined the best of India had to offer. The staff were very attentive and by the hotel having a box in reception for any tips you wished to leave we didn't feel pressured by them. (As they were so wonderful we left a tip anyway) The hotel has many different places to relax away from the hussle and bustle of the city, the garden feels like a different world and the two well loved dogs, cat and birds make you feel more at home instead of being a guest. The pool area on the rooftop is out if this world and a great place to relax, read, swim and nap. Thank you so much for showing us the best of Udaipur, even as we left for the bus station the staff made sure the driver was not taking advantage of white tourists and got a fixed price on the journey
Totally Enjoyed my Stay
I rarely write reviews .But this place deserves one. Starting from the ambiance to cleanliness to staff , everything was perfect and this place is a must stay if you are planning a trip to udaipur. Food quality in the restaurant is good but would be much better if the management spends time to improve the quality of the food and the menu choices.
Can be a very good hotel, need to fix a few things
Pros : - Breakfast was excellent - State of the room was very good - Staff was responsive on the phone Cons - Wireless was extremely spotty. Inspite of several requests, there was little that was done. - The reservation claimed that I would get a garden view room. The room I got was neither the lake or garden view.
Really cute boutique hotel
Such a beautiful hotel! They upgraded me to a suite, which was huge! Big marble tub, loved it! A really cute boutique hotel. The rooftop and pool is gorgeous, dinner buffet was great. The only weird thing was they had a cocktail menu, and liquor out in a bar area, but when we went to order they said it was for "display only". I'm thinking they are having issues with the liquor license? Not sure. Breakfast wasn't any good so don't count on that, and the WiFi was enough for texting and that's it. Amazing restaurant next door that you can sit on couches on the water. Overall, very happy with stay!
very poor experience
One of the worst experiences I have had with a hotel. The staff were extremely rude and unaccommodating. We felt like we were nickel and dimed from the time we got to the lobby. There was no hot water, the ac did not work and the wifi was extremely poor. When we brought up these issues with the staff nothing was done. I would not recommend staying at this hotel there are a lot more places that are better for less money.
Good location
The Hotel is pleasant to stay and staff very helpful. Location wise excellent as it is walking distance from City Palace, boating in Pichola and Bagore ki haveli.
A really nice place in the heart of the city
We stayed for a week. The hotel was really nice. We had a Garden Suite which was large, clean, comfortable and very well appointed, with good toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. The food was good, the rooftop restaurant and pool very attractive and the garden was a quiet oasis. Every single member of staff was friendly and helpful, particularly manager Mr Singh. Step outside the hotel and you were in the heart of this amazing, bustling city, and so close to the lake edge. It was really convenient and good value for money. P.S.I would recommend a visit to Animal Aid Unlimited a hospital/sanctuary for Udaipur's street animals, just a few kilometres outside of the city. Take a tuk-tuk to the place, it is uplifting and unique, and visitors are very welcome!
Beautiful hotel for a decent price.
Beautiful hotel for a decent price. Nice pool and restaurant on the roof and cosy courtyard with a lot of beautiful flowers. The hotel are building a new wing so it will be a bit bigger next year. Nice rooms with marble bathrooms.

Khoti stay late feb 25
The hotel was great. Alot of steps but if youre ok with that its very very good. Ambiance is off the charts unique. Ok food. Manager on duty was very kind and helpful. Everyone there was nice. It was a very good choice.
