Hotel Has improved over the years it is clean and comfortable easy parking and conveniently located.

All was great

It was a very good experience in al senses.

The room was clean and breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately the pool was "under maintenace" and we had a toilet issue I had to ask them to fix more than once. Staff was friendly.

Place was nice food was good. Beds were small and not real comfortable, Same with pillows. We booked for big pool and it was closed .

There was wifi but it did not work in the rooms. The advice given to me was to login outside then go into the room. It could not be maintained. For a place advertising as a sports and conférence center this was not convenient. I noticed that other guests were like I stuck outside on the balcony working on computers or on virtual calla. This was a big negative for me.

Hotel Suerre is a beautiful and comfortable hotel. The rooms and grounds are spotlessly clean and the included breakfast buffet was excellent. The photos on their website don't do the hotel justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how modern, quiet and clean the rooms were. The front desk and restaurant staff were all helpful and kind, as well.

Great place with one exception… The old beds.

Hotel is awesome. Pool, gym, sports center, game room, restaurants, bars, casino. Great place with one exception - the beds are very old and very uncomfortable. People are really nice, I love this place. If the replaced all of the old mattresses it would be a top hotel. I hope they do.

We really enjoyed the playground and adult pool facilities. Unfortunately, there was lots of iguana poo on the playground which we asked to be removed. The kids pool was pretty dirty as well. Some staff was really nice! The breakfast we did not like as of choice and taste but I guess that very subjective. The gym access was a plus for me but overall there was lots of noise from gym and it’s classes.

This hotel is set on taking advantage of their customers. They try to charge me three times for the same girl twice real speedy once when I checked in and then double the price the day I was leaving hotel is nice but the management is horrible. All they want us to swipe your credit card they don't care where winter how just give us the plastic.

Good hotel, the best in the area

the hotel is basically a sports center for the town. people come in to use the gym and the pool. the room was old and had issues with the hot water. the hot tub was not really hot either. overall not a place where I would want to spend multiple days.

The receptionist was a little rude, she disrespected me by calling me only by my name, even though she is like my daughter. The price included breakfast, but nobody gave us the tickets for the breakfast and at the restaurant they didn’t want to let us have the food. I came with other friends, and they got bar courtesies, but I didn’t. The bathtub was a little dirty, there were no coffee cups to drink coffee. We were 3 perdona, but there were only 2 towels

Disappointed rundown

When I checked in floor was not clean, I had to call the front desk to ask them to send someone to clean the floors, the pictures above is how the room looks when I asked them to clean my room. I checked out a day earlier because I was not able to sleep at all mattress we not good.

Amazing property with all the amenities and a delicious included breakfast. My only wish was I had a full day to enjoy it, as we stopped here quick stay as a launch pad out to Torteguero. We Would stay again!

We liked the place the people were very friendly. The rooms were clean the pool was very nice. There was a restaurant on site and food was very good.

Suerre Could Be Nice - But has Major Problems

Suerre is in a nice location but has issues. I've stayed more than 20 nights here as they are close to family - but I'm looking for an alternative. Everything is very old. The beds must be 20 years old and vert lumpy and uncomfortable.. The WifI is the slowest that I've experienced and at times unusable. Bring a wifi hotspot if you depend on the internet. The room keys need to be reprogrammed several times a day as they don't hold the programming if it gets close to a phone, credit card or computer. And this is in the Deluxe rooms. The pool, playground, bar are fun and in good shape - but beware that they sell country club memberships in the local communities to use the facilities and it is very crowed at nights and on the weekends. They also hold private parties which make the crowd worse. I will say the staff are great - housekeeping, reception, wait staff and bartenders, security - the people are awesome and this could be a nice place. But it has major problems.

Picked the place since it was halfway between the Caribbean coast where we spent a couple of days and San Jose, for our flight home. Facilities fine for outside - pool, restaurant. Rooms definitely underwhelming. Clean, but motel like in design and look. A little attention to interior design would go a long way to making it more attractive. And no place to sit in the room - an armchair would be a good addition.

The rooms leave quite a bit to be desired, needs an update. Installations and location are ok.

Great place to relax...

The place and staff were amazing...only two issues we had were the firmness of the beds and not feeling real safe going out in the community...

I was put on the ground floor which apparently is the main walk way, it was very noisy day and night. Also there were flies everywhere on the bread and uncovered food at the restaurant during breakfast. Lastly, the Manager of the hotel was not on duty and the guys at the front desk could not make any decision. Will really not recommend this hotel.

This property is just North of the National Park where the mountains an rainforest viewing is amazing. I am told that this small city, Guapiles was built by the banana plantations and employees. It is beautiful and has an olympic size pool, kids toys, restaurants and casino. It's a good family resort, if you're in the area for park viewing.

Business focused hotel

Business focused hotel but was good for a stop over while traveling Costa Rica by car. Nice comfortable rooms, nice outdoor pool and bar with good cocktails and restaurant. Evening meal a little pricey but good and breakfast had wide selection of food.

A fine example of Costa Rican hospitality

I wanted to sample Cost Rican hotelier hospitality firsthand. By that, I mean I wanted to experience a non-European, Non-American hotel to try something a little different to what I have become accustomed to. Hotel Suerre did not disappoint. As a result of the mobile app I used to navigate my way to the hotel, I somehow managed to drive in from the rear. The security guard who assisted me was very professional and directed me to the registration area. Theresa, the young lady who checked me in, made me feel very welcome and created a great first impression. My room was clean and spacious. The furniture was a little dated, and the room could have used some pictures on the walls to spruce it up a bit, but I was in no way disappointed with it. I had drinks and dinner at the bar. Rafael (? Sorry if I forgot your name, sir. The drinks you made were too good!) was great to interact with as I waited for my friend to join me. He kept the gurapirinhas (yummy) coming, and provided a good overview of life in Guapalis, the town in which the hotel is situated. My friend eventually arrived, and we both enjoyed the delicious food there. All employees with whom I interacted were polite and courteous. You could tell they were happy to work there. This alone was refreshing to experience. I loved my stay. I will be back, and will definitely stay for longer next time.

We stayed at hotel Suerre on our way to Tortuguero. It has to be the best hotel in Guapiles. Service was excellent. Also we had a great dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. Free WiFi worked well as well as free parking in a s cure area. It adjoins a nice country club with huge pool covered tennis courts soccer field etc. would he gilt recommend it as a place to stay in Guapiles

Huge Disappointment

I purchase a room that included breakfast and upon arrival was told it didn't include breakfast for the kids. I also paid extra for a "superior room" which was supposed to have a refrigerator and snack bar. Nope, wasn't there. I was told there were only 2nd floor rooms available (despite the fact that I'm pretty confident we were the ONLY people staying at this hotel) and there's no elevator. I was told someone would come to help me with my luggage. Didn't happen and I had to drag two 50 lb suitcases up 2 flights of stairs at 10pm by myself with 2 small children. The next morning the kids ere excited to get to the pool and playground. We get dressed and out there to discover the grass has just been cut and the playground equipment is full of dirt and cut grass so we proceed to the pool to fond out "it's being cleaned" and we'd have to wait. So we patiently wait and once it's done being "cleaned" (not clean at all) we try to enjoy the pool but there were so many bugs in it the kids were bothered and the water to the water slides weren't turned on which is what kids live for. We asked several times for them to be turned on and finally the pool guy who spoke no English miraculously understood what we said and turned 1 of them on. I shared my disappointment with the "manager" upon checkout who offered nothing but excuses like "the pool is always closed on Mondays" and had the nerve to tell me I should have arrived earlier the day before if we wanted to enjoy the pool!

Nice hotel but too loud music

The hotel itself is nice and has a nicely landscaped park. It has a lot to offer in terms of leisure activities (gym, pool, tennis etc.), which we didn't try as we were just passing through. However, as our room was in the main building quite close to the gym, loud music could be heard between 7am and 10pm, which disturbed us. Breakfast and the rooms are nice and the location, for us between stops at Braulio Carillo and Tortuguero National Parks, is convenient.

No other option!

My reservation was wrong, then the staff thought I had paid and I was the one who told them to collect the payment. The first room was awful, windows with no locks and could be opened from the outside. Then, I was told to wait for 40 MINUTES until my key card was ready because "they had some system issues". I asked for a different room, with a king size bed, they said all rooms have 2 beds. They offered me the "Deluxe Room", which was pretty much the same but with a bathtub instead of regular shower. The bathroom smelled ugly and the bed had crack noise. Generally speaking, it was just a regular hotel with a high rate. Cars can park right in front of the rooms, which is bad because you can hear the noise of people taking in the hallway, car noise, etc. Sadly, it is the "only" hotel in town and there are no other better options in that area, so basically, you got to use this hotel or go somewhere else, like a cabin.

Expedia doesn't have the correct stats.

Making the reservation with Expedia the room I chose offered a possibility of a King size bed. And the photos of the bathroom showed a bath tub. I understood that it was a possibility of a King bed on availability but there would be a bathtub. When I got to the room it was 2 regular beds not even Queens. And I was OK with that but upon seeing that the bathroom had no tub I was upset. Went to reception and this obnoxious girl told me that the room I reserved would never have a King bed that there are only three king beds in the Hotel and that they are always being used by the owners of the Hotel. Further more that the room I reserved would never have a bathtub either. She was very obnoxious and made me feel like a fool. Then she "tried" to call her boss to see if anything could be done about the situation and said they had not been answering the phone all day and she would get back to me if she could get in contact with them later. Total lie.You guys at Expedia should get better information on the rooms that you offer.

Weekend Getaway

Hotel was very safe, good looking, and great staff. However, lack of hot water for showering and ice for drinks. Bed could be much better for the price too.

the hotel was good for its price range. well set up , rooms are ok a bit dated but one is in costa rica so not too much to be expected. the service at the pool was very slow. the cocktails were very bad . the restaurant itself had excellent food but overpriced. we were far from all our activities...traffic is slow ... we will take that into account next time we come. the staff was super friendly and made every effort to make our stay a great experience

Very nice hotel in Guapiles, convenient stop on the way to Tortuguero or Earth University. Great pool, secure parking.

We had a booking problem and the operaton manager was very helpful. We parked right next to our room. The swimming pool and jacuzi was nice.

Need attention to details

Water temperature in shower inconsistent. While showering it will change from too hot to too cold. Breakfast was great if you are early. No washer/dryer available and staff could not find a local laundromat.

Overnight stay

Hotel was good. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Bath only had 2 bath towels. No hand towel. Had to call for them to bring one. They also do not supply wash cloths thought that a bit odd for a 4 star rated hotel. They're energy conscience which is good but I think you could see better if they used cfls that were daylight instead of soft light. Maybe it's just me but I like to be able to see. Other than this minor stuff it was a great hotel

The first day we arrived after a 6 hour drive and the hot tub was closed due to maintenance. We asked the front desk if it would be on later that night am they said it would be opened at 5pm. We went to the tub at 5 and asked a worker if he could turn it on and he said he could because it took 2hrs to warm up and the pool area closed at 10pm and and would not make sense to have it in for so little and he also did not know how to turn it on. That night we didn't use the tub. On Christmas Eve we wanted to relax in the tub again before our dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel. The same guy working the pool area said the pool area would be closing at 6pm due to Christmas. At 6pm he turned off the hot tub. What? I thought he didnt know how to work the on and off hot tub system. We asked the front desk and a female told me that the pool area was not suppose to be closed till regular time at 10pm even if it was the holiday. So for the 2nd time we were kicked out the hot hub. We had 3 breakfast and 3 dinners at the hotel. The restaurant staff and food was the best. The restaurant staff wanted to please. In the other hand, the staff at the pool area were on their own schedule and did not want help out and kicked us out early. I know people want to spend time with their family for the holiday but I was with my family on vacation expecting great service and dint get it.

Andrés made us feel very welcomed and was very attentive to our needs. Although the furniture in the room was a little worn down, we still enjoyed our stay. And it was very convenient to be able to park our rental car directly in front of where we were staying.
